Nescot (North East Surrey College of Technology): Opinions
Negative experience: I visited here for meet the tutors & found the place to be lacking. One of the Travel & Toursim Tutors I met took everyone towards the classroom then left half the group behind going our own way, great skills to have if your a travel guide. There’s masked kids walking around & a lot of chavs so I will probably not be coming here next year & I recommend you don’t bother
Fantastic experience: Shouts to ricardo hes lowkey a W guy
Negative experience: This is definitely one of the schools of time
Negative experience: Honestly terrible place, they do nothing about bullying, the students here are so dodgy and very argumentive and the teachers are so soft on thier torrence awful college
Negative experience: Inconsistent teaching, you come out of the college with a degree as the work is so insufficient - you learn nothing. Teachers don't communicate with any one - numerous student have traveled to college, only to find out it's closed or lessons cancelled max an hour before class. They prioritise keeping drug users and dealers in education more than high achievers. Their anti-bullying policy is rubbish and they simply don't follow it. Reception will hang up on you, will only pick up the phone if you call repeatedly. Tutors say there are rules in place, yet don't enforce them in class. They allow students to destroy their property. Tutors don't check their email's despite telling students that they are free to email if they have a question or issue. Tutors also teach that if you report bullying, you will just get in trouble for doing so, and teach students that they have to manage being bullied better. They also allow students to bully SEN students in class. If you truly care for your child and their mental health and education, do not sent them here! Even if they aren't affected by the points above, your child is more likely to fall into a bad crowd as that's half the demographic of the college.
Negative experience: they teach students through their own methods that reporting bullying will just get you in trouble and that you have to learn to deal with being bullied better. you can't find their anti bullying policy on the website and have to search it up completely separate from their website. they don't stick to their own rules and policies that they set in place. they would much rather keep drug users and dealers in their classes than straight a students. you don't get guaranteed the course you sign up for as they will change it halfway through the first year, deadlines are inconsistent and always changing because not even the tutors can stick to them. bad communication between teachers meaning that students have to get second opinions, then third, then fourth, and somehow they'll all still be different. when people say this college is bad, they mean it. if you want to apply for mainstream studies and you care about your children, don't send them here. 0/10
Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience at Nescot College. The program was well-structured and provided me with valuable skills and knowledge. The staff were supportive, approachable, and genuinely cared about the success of every student. Their dedication and professionalism created a positive and enriching learning environment. I truly enjoyed my time here and highly recommend Nescot College to anyone looking for quality education and support. Thank you for helping me grow both personally and academically.
Negative experience: The teachers don’t do anything and when I was about to move up north the security guards said to me because a student in the college made a fulse accusation against me and they believed the student I wouldn’t go to that college again and they believe students that lie WORST 3 AT THE COLLEGE
Fantastic experience: Much Better Then School, And I Get Too See My Childhood Best Friend
Fantastic experience: Nice, small theatre. Good parking.
Negative experience: Such an awful horrible college I was bullied there by a few students AND staff and when I was in foundation because I’m a SEN student the tutor I had was nice to the girl who was rude to me but she wasn’t nice to me and she told me off for silly reasons!!! Because of them my anxiety has been worst then it’s ever been thanks to this college!!!
Fantastic experience: Went to the hairdressers on site, brilliant lovely staff very stylish , always do a fab job lots parking
Fantastic experience: I am currently completing my level 3 counselling course here, and I am really impressed. My tutor Ilo is knowledgeable and supportive. The course is well organised and I am learning so much! Highly recommend nescot :)
Negative experience: Worse college ever. They failed my son who has a legal document a EHCP. They protect the bully and thanks to them my son now struggles with going to education. He was being physically assaulted and emotionally assaulted but yet they protected the bully. This college can’t handle young adults on the SEN. I know quite a few people that go here and can’t wait to leave. A quote from head off foundation “I’m so glad (the bully not allowed to name on here) didn’t do any permanent damage to your son” this was after the bully punched my son in the chest and my son been diagnosed with a hole in heart. What a joke off a place. I had one teacher from the arts department trying to threaten me with my son EHCP I had another one lie about my son. So glad to see the back of this place and the rude, lying, bully staff members
Negative experience: I took 2 online courses by Nescot. However, I received very positive feedback from tutors. My final marks in diploma were completely different. 3rd, my diploma, Beauty Level 3, I am in progress of it, and very disappointing: from the beginning of the enrolment to the education process, a very unprofessional approach. Not recommended Nescot
Negative experience: It used to be a good college. My latest experience was of poor administration, lack of student care focus and lack of administrative knowledge. I withdrew my course application and do not recommend them.
Fantastic experience: Good
Negative experience: Teachers never communicate, you come in and get told the teacher is not in and that you don't have a lesson but they never told you.Do not recomend
Fantastic experience: The animal care department is beautiful and I love their food etc.
Thanks for giving us a great rating.
Negative experience: The media department is so bad!! Very biased and have their favourites and only put their efforts in those students they like. The head of creative media is awful and rude!! she has so much attitude and doesnt treat students well.
Negative experience: My experience was terrible. The issues with this college are the staff and not the college itself. I done a course last year and the instructor was the most negative person I’ve ever encountered, didn’t give me any encouragement. My tutor also gossiped about students to other students behind their back. I came away not learning much, and tbh feeling like I’ve wasted a year of my life and money. I also overheard a technician making racist comments on multiple occasions. The college itself is fine, and the materials, equipment are excellent, but some of the staff need to be sacked.
Negative experience: I had an awful experience studying AAT level 3 last year. We had 4 teachers altogether and none of them was sufficient to guide and support us especially with completely new syllabus that we had. I do not recommend.
Negative experience: Save yourselves and don't approach this place.
Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Negative experience: As almost all other commenters declare, this place has successfully gathered together a gang of rudest people one can ever imagine! In my case, I talked on phone to the 'manager of distance learning courses' and found her absolutely a psycho! Such an abnormal/dangerous woman shouldn't be allowed to work directly with children. Not at all a credit to any workplace, let alone an educational establishment. I wish I had read comments here before even approaching to this so-called college! College? Really??
Positive experience: Great college. Good teachers but the nurse is so rude and isn’t doing anything
Negative experience: Don't join this college the teachers are really rude and disrespectful!!
We're sorry you feel that way, if you have a specific complaint please contacts us at: We're sorry you only gave us a one star rating, if you have a specific complaint please contact us at: https://www.nescot.ac.uk/about-nescot/contact-us/
Negative experience: My daughter attends. I'm giving the second star only because she HAS ended up with a piece of paper at the end of the school year, but she is sure continuing her studies at a different college. ANY college, tbh. Disorganised, disrespectful towards students, inconsistent, teacher actively discourages students to carry on with their studies ("I'm only trying to NOT set you up for failure "), etc. Dreadful. I know colleges do not cater for the intellectually gifted, but come on....
We're sorry to hear that you feel that way. If you have a specific complaint about a course, please contact us at: https://www.nescot.ac.uk/about-nescot/contact-us/
Positive experience: Attended a fair here, college was closed to students but open to visitors to browse the buildings. Liked the feel & layout of everything, huge car park next door. Caffeteria was small compared to student lounge...expect the dinning hall to be ample and large. Excellent outside facilities for sitting studying and socialising. Very impressed overall. Recommend a visit.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed your visit.
Positive experience: Went there for Covid booster.
Negative experience: worst college ever
We're sorry to hear that you feel that way. If you have a specific complaint about a course, please contact us at: https://www.nescot.ac.uk/about-nescot/contact-us/
Fantastic experience: I only know what my daughter told me as I did not go in but she said it was great and was looking forward to going to Nescot College.
Negative experience: Very unprofesional !they don t know nothing about anything.my partner start an electrical course with them "free" from student finance. They didn t done the application ,no answers at e mails .Very dissapointed.
Fantastic experience: Great place to work, excellent teaching and amazing sunrises
Fantastic experience: I love all
Negative experience: Very unprofessional and have no idea what they are doing, wasted over a month trying to enrol onto a course and first they lost the paperwork I completed. I constantly called to get information to make sure I am eligible but they was misinformed, until eventually one nice lady who knew what she's talking about explained and told me I'm not eligible. I even had a tutor call late at night to enrol me to this course that I am not eligible for. Very disappointed as they wasted my time and efforts.
Negative experience: I have contacted the college twice with a view to starting a course. Sadly, on both ocassions the staff failed to respond to requests for information, so I went elsewhere. If an organisation cannot get its order getting activities right, how likely are they to get their order fulfillment activities right?
Positive experience: Not perfect but the college itself has wonderful staff and the canteen food is pretty good and affordable in comparison to other colleges. The support staff were the best when I attended, went through a lot at home and they were constantly checking up on me. The only issue I had was the staff coming/going, felt like we never really got proper structure at some points as teachers would have quit and we would not know. Thanks to my teachers and support I am now on an apprenticeship.
Fantastic experience: just to help nescot out i feel bad it isnt even good
Negative experience: I'm already having problems with nescot and haven't even started yet. They said I can't do the Level 3 Animal managment as for 16-19 years old which discrimination. I have sign up to do the an Adult course for Customer service level 2 as soon as I got the information they went on about student loan which they said its was free for a level 2 course and they said only for level 3 courses you need to pay.
Negative experience: Spent a year here , really didn’t learn much at all sadly. At previous schools and colleges I always did well in class and enjoyed what I was learning but overall here I hated the whole experience and was never engaged at all in class. I wouldn’t recommend at all if your over 19 and want to study a practical course that you will have to pay for as it won’t be worth it , the teaching is of very poor quality , with teachers arriving late to lessons constantly and taken holidays mid year while the class is during examination. The lessons are very uninteresting and will make you lose interest in the subject due to the lack of lesson preparation and structure. By the end of my experience at Nescot I choose a completely different career path due to my bad experience here , this has to be the worst learning experience in my life and I know other students from the college who felt very similarly. I hope by now things change for future students or people read this and avoid the mistake I made. I mean no disrespect to Nescot but this is the honest truth of how I felt during my time here.
Positive experience: What ever you do, do not chat to one of the mentors she is so rude and she’s meant to be there to “help” people with their issues not make them worse and feel like trash for trying to talk to them and all she does is look at you like she don’t won’t to talk Other than that I would recommend the college the teachers are nice and supportive about anything
Fantastic experience: I am a student myself at NESCOT College. I take part in the course of travel & tourism and found it challenging the first time when i came, but got the full support of my teachers and the students in my class that made me hit the deadline and finish assignments quickly. The thing is if you really want to do the course then teachers will find it easier to help you, but if you can't be bothered then teachers will find it difficult to help you. Bullying is hard to stop if you don't get to know who is doing it, but I fully support people who are getting bullied and I wont stay and watch how people humiliate someone. I will advice them what to do and also talk the bullies myself. Every now and then tutorial lessons help students to talk about bullying, BREXIT, Drugs etc. We do learn about these things, how to avoid and what it is feeling like, so I find it worrying to believe that there are so many students at NESCOT that has been bullied or experienced negatives about the College. If you feel the same talk to your Student Rep's, Teachers or Head Department for a solution. Soon you will be also able to talk to the FE and HE Student Governors at NESCOT COLLEGE. I propose a site for Nescot students if they want to talk and meet their Student Governors. NESCOT is a great college with lot of facilities and activities. There is a gym, Starbucks, Indian Restaurant (Rasika), Big Cantina, Sports Hall, and more. Not to forget the library with Computers and books for students to revise and finish their assignments if they cant finish them in their classrooms.
Negative experience: HORRIBLE COLLEGE!!!!!! I was a student there and the system is so corrupt at least 1 in 10 student has drugs on them and every single break there are student smoking cannabis just metres away from the premessis
Fantastic experience: As an evening adult student I have had a very positive experience at nescot which includes the tutors who have been more than willing to help myself and others. I have learnt alot and I am pleased I chose nescot as my college of choice. I haven't found any bullying issues involving tutors infact my tutors couldn't have been any more helpful when I had an issue with another student discriminating against me. The cafe is always well stocked with nice food at reasonable prices. I would recommend this college to anyone who wants to put the effort in to gain higher education.
Fantastic experience: Loved studying here!

Fantastic experience: My name jeff
Negative experience: Not happy I have done one year at this College and I have been told to do my level 2 I have to pay £1,300 so I am not happy I could have done level 2 last year but the put everyone on a level 1 so I could not do level 2 there for I am not happy at all
Negative experience: If I could leave -100 I would. Worst collage! Have destroyed my son's education and did the same to my daughter a few yrs ago. You would be fine there if your a straight A student but if you need a little bit of help/support DO NOT GO THERE!! They are rude unhelpful and even laugh at u when u point out that have made a mistake!!!
Positive experience: Helpful study environment
Negative experience: Worst teaching I've ever experienced. Complained multiple times and nothing ever happened. Teacher was completely incompetent definitely would give it no stars if I could.
Fantastic experience: Visited Le Raj Academy last night - both food and staff excellent, well worth a visit
Negative experience: Full of dumb gits.
Fantastic experience: hi nathan and mum 2years
Negative experience: No one like me
Fantastic experience: Been recently for an induction day for my animal studies course, and they were all very helpful and very good at making everyone feel welcome. Ive learnt a lot about the course i will be taking in September 2016. I will also be attending the induction day this month too. Cant wait to join! x
Fantastic experience: Pretty good! Learned a lot. Non-judgemental college imo.
Negative experience: dead ting
Fantastic experience: Please let me in -James North 2016
Fantastic experience: ja man
Negative experience: Today I went there to have a look at the collage. The staff was not helpful and pushed me and my friend down on what we want to do when we leave full time education. They didn't tell us about the course as when we left we didn't no any think about it. they weren't helpful at all. I will not be applying there as I didn't get a good vibe.
Fantastic experience: this is the best place to study.
Positive experience: Not bad to go to as I studied business here in 2009/10.
Negative experience: I am going to tell you the goods & bads about this college , so here we go... Goods- made a few friends (that's the only good thing) Bads- the canteen needs serious work the food is absolutely vile so I don't use it no more, the staff are always unorganised, the courses are not interesting, to many people there who are on drugs and the list goes on. I have been at this college for 2 years now and I can honestly say that I think last year was better than this year, I have completed a catering course and nearly a progression into employment course. I will not be returning after this year, I just want June 2015 to hurry up so I can get out of there. Rant over , sorry for all the negativity but you need to be told.
Fantastic experience: Good college
Fantastic experience: Nice college good lessons
Fantastic experience: Brilliant college 10/10
