Fantastic experience: Great gym, plenty of equipment, staff are really helpful, nice pool and steam room, petty the Jacuzzi's are out of comition though.

Negative experience: I do not recommend!!! They have been renovating for 6 months and they can't start. The showers work once a week if you're lucky. The sauna and jacuzzi haven't worked for almost a year. The service doesn't give a damn about the customers, they can't answer an email for 15 days. Nobody answers the phone. The air conditioning doesn't work. Despite the injury and sending medical evidence, they do not want to cancel the membership.A real MESS !!!!
Negative experience: The pool closes for various reasons.Suspect this is to save power.One favourite excuse is a child has been sick or had a toilet accident. The showers are in need of repair, the lockers don't seem to get cleaned.The gym machines are sometimes out of order. None of this was the case when it was DW sports owned. The place appears to be run on a shoe string budget. Promises of refurb but nothing ever happens.
Negative experience: Staff are always helpful and friendly, but the place is totally run down. There has been talk of a refurb, even all the gym equipment has auction labels on to get rid of (labels been on since January 2024). Paying £30 a month but steam room has been closed for months, hot tubs have been closed for over a year. Think I will be switching to a new gym soon as the refurb doesnt seem to be happening and £30 is a lot to pay for a basic gym with no steam room/jacuzzi and old tired gym equipment. Clearly their head office need to give their heads a wobble before they start losing more customers.

Negative experience: For the price they charge and for how long theyv been saying this place is getting a “refurb” it’s a DEAD gym, no sauna or steam room working, no jacuzzis working and some machines out of order. Some staff are good but you get the odd one that thinks it’s their dad’s place. Oh and if you don’t park in the bay properly expect a parking ticket
Negative experience: Very unhappy Taked membership last year with discounted price because they closed sauna but they didn't say that sauna will be close forever or untill this day ... Jacuzzi tub they are close too....Swimming pool they are closed as well. I'm paying £35 just for a gym which I think is very expensive. I can't even cancel membership till January 2025 what it's funny . They not provide full service but want full payment... Disappointed.. Don't buy any mbership , specially with discounted price when they offer !!!!
Negative experience: absolutely awful customer service some woman decided to end the phone on me after asking genuine questions not to mention the inability to cancel a contract (might i add extremely overpriced for the lack of equipment considering the volume of customers) this is essentially an awful place to workout you’d be better off in a garage there would certainly be more space for a start not to mention the rude manner the staff seem to have inherited like they are so much better than everyone else
Fantastic experience: Not been into the gym for a while. Signed up on Monday with instant access to the app. Visiting the gym tuesday. Staff friendly pointed me in the direction of the changing room and of I went.
Fantastic experience: We put off looking at this gym for months as a result of bad reviews but after looking at all the others in the area and hating them, we thought we need to bite the bullet and have a look. We went in and asked for a showround. I would say facilities were good and the staff were honest about the work that has been planned to improve. The staff were open about things that have gone wrong but none of these are major concerns at all and it sounds like there’s a plan to fully refurbish the gym. After our tour, we joined and have been in a few times since. We have found the staff to be helpful and friendly and the facilities are good! The pool has been good too. The day we had the showround it had been drained and out of use but since then we have used it every time we have been in. The pool is really warm. Honestly no complaints about the gym. I would definitely say ignore the bad reviews and see for yourself
Fantastic experience: Best gym I have ever been too . Really friendly staff and customers. Some of the classes are amazing and really motivational especially the HIIt classes on Wednesday and Friday morning where everyone is made to feel welcome regardless of physical ability .

Negative experience: I left as it stopped being why I joined. I could never find a shower that worked when I left I knew the first two cubicles where ok but once they where used you where left with a dribble, cold or non functioning. As a handy person this grated as I knew some.of the repairs were simple fixes. I didn't join for the gym only the poo, jacuzzi and steam room. Once the jacuzzi went and I repeatedly turned up to a pool that had had a child being sick or other contamination then a steam room always out of action I just couldn't understand what I was paying for ? I know the jacuzzi is not being replaced so that's one of three things I like to do gone so just leaves a steam room and pool....I can get that at any leisure centre. Give us something worth the membership and may consider rejoining ...until then it's a no from me

Negative experience: My main reason for joining the gym in 2021 was to go swimming and the classes eg aquafit, mind, zumba. Over the years the facilities for the pool area have significantly diminished. There have been no Jacuzzis for over a year, the steam room has been closed for over 6 months, the ladies shower area closed for almost 4 weeks and many classes cancelled completely or reduced. During all this inconvenience you have never offered a reduced monthly fee and now you are closing the pool area for a week without offering any compensation. I know members who have cancelled there membership to then be rung up offering them either free membership for 3 months or a reduced membership of £10 per month for 6 months - what about us loyal customers
Negative experience: Terrible facilities. Showers always on the blink, Jacuzzis and steam room permanently shut, pool often smells awful and is mostly full with lessons. Don't know how this place hasn't gone out of business yet.
Negative experience: Pool area is non existent. No jacuzzis. No steam room. Pool full of swimming lessons no room for members. No cleaners on at the weekends. Bins in changing rooms full of kids nappies

Negative experience: Honestly this wasn't the place it knew 2 years back. steam room doesn't work, both jacuzzi permanently closed. swimming is the only thing you can do besides going gym of course. Even the drinking water doesn't work at the swimming/ steam room area. showers are terrible. I don't recommend coming here, waste of money and time

Fantastic experience: I attended the gym this evening to use the pool for our children’s first swimming class. This is a private class unrelated to the gym itself. However the swimming company failed to inform us that the lesson had been postponed and we were left with two really disappointed small children. Credit to the two young lads on the desk who straight away said we could use the pool free of charge and take the kids for a swim ourselves. The little ones were delighted. The facilities are really nice there (first time we have been) and the gym itself looked excellent and with a good atmosphere. If we lived locally we would be sure to sign up. Thanks again to the two lads who let us in (sorry forgot to ask your names, while trying to console the kids) you are a credit to the gym. Keep it up.

Negative experience: Showers are cold, they must have turned the boiler off and same with the Jacuzzi, I mean who has a cold jacuzzi??? The equipment needs cleaning and the lockers are either broken or the coins don’t work. The place needs to be cleaned regularly and it appears the staff don’t really care. Shame in the small print they tie you into a contract so will be cancelling once my contract is up. New name for this gym - Neverlast Gym

Negative experience: Genuinely the worst gym in Blackburn. Machines are constantly out of use, never see both jacuzzis working. Changing rooms look like they’ve never been cleaned. New manager has run this place to the ground. For £30 a month you’d expect to get a work out in but no, nothing is ever in service. Cancelled membership and will never be coming back. In need of new management ASAP

Negative experience: Used the sauna and swimming other day as I had a free pass. First problem the lockers didn't work with usual pounds coins and had to bring or purchase a pad lock. Second issue was with showers which some of them did not have tuning hot water through so there must be a problem there. Also 3 hair dryer were out of work Out of 6

Negative experience: So far not that impressed, previously been a member of DW on and off for 15yrs. The place was always clean and everything worked, so far the jacuzzi’s haven’t been working in over a week, the changing room floor looks like it never gets mopped, the first two lockers I went to were broken. Then you start to look round and the whole place is tired and tatty. I understand that they are expecting a refurb to be carried out but that’s been in the pipe line since they took over from DW. I don’t see any reduction in fees for reduction of service and standards. It’s a poor effort everlast.
Negative experience: Constant issue with no hot water to shower .....surely the most basic for a gym .Keeps being repaired then breaking down again...Only one jacuzzi working..and isn't very warm. Owners need to get to grips with this or more will leave and bad reviews won't get new customers
Negative experience: A big disappointment! Staff untrained and constantly give wrong information about sth, it is like each one of them is working in a different place. Jacuzzi is always cold or out of order. The gym is not cleaned as often. Shoe covers are hardly available.
Negative experience: The only saving grace for this gym is the pool, which is descent. The jacuzzi is cold, and one has been off for a while, no maintenance! The gym machines are very limited. The staff, although nice, are cluless about their own rules. I got conflicting information every time I asked about getting my son to the pool, once saying I could bring him for free , then telling me there is an age limit. Telling me there is a subscription I can pay for him and then denying it! And to cap it off, asking me to take him out of the pool 10 mins after letting us in because they have no insurance for kids after 4 pm!

Positive experience: The one thing I enjoy is the music choice. It really does get in the mood for a good work out. Contrary to the rival Pure Gym. The gym could be bigger with maybe more options but does the job never the less.
Negative experience: Very dissapointed with this gym, very badly maintained, most of the facilities are Never available for use, very bad steam room, hit and miss, most of all, pathetic management, was told I can't pay cash to continue my monthly payments, so offered to pay for the full year in cash, staff couldn't sort it, so accepted cash for my monthly payment, when expired, was told the same, been a regular here for over 15 years! Will never go back again! Good riddance!
Negative experience: The gym owners are just ruthless money grabbers, only interested in making money. The staff are decent. Firstly, the Steam room hardly ever works. They always blame the people for messing with thermostats, which just is irresponsible, why not just install tamper proof stats if thats the case? The two jacuzzis have been turned off. One by one, and not been fixed for a year now. It has limited machinery and many of the machines remain broken for months before they fix it. Some of the machines currently broken at time of writing. So basically you have a swimming pool for the premium price, which is negated by the opening hours, which are limiying as they close early on weekends vs many other gyms which are 24 hour gyms. To add insult to injury theyll ticket you for extremely minor infractions, theyve ticketed me 3 times now. One of them was my car being outside the bay by 5cm. Gym membership has been cancelled. Never again giving these guys a penny.
Positive experience: Could be cleaner, Jacuzzis regularly out of action, some weight machines too. Members need the app and QR code to enter but no mobile signal in or around the gym results in unable to open the app, so screenshot that QR code to save the hassle. All the members and staff are friendly, good atmosphere.
Negative experience: Worst gym in Blackburn stay well away. The facilities are well below par plus I cancelled within the first week which is well within the cooling off period but the month I paid for in advance will not be refunded, I have contacted the manager on many an occasion to no avail. It’s clear to show that this gym values conning people over retaining any members.

Negative experience: Gym equipment does not reflect the price you pay. A gym this large should have multiple squat racks, there is only one here, most of my workouts are spent waiting for the rack to be free.
Negative experience: The place has declined every since it’s takeover by Everlast Nothing seems to work Spa facilities have been down well over a month Showers were down for 2 months Any repairs take months to get sorted and the hygiene of the pool, jacuzzi and steam room are horrendous
Negative experience: By far the worst gym, juccuzi out of order for 2 weeks, my kettle gives out more steam then the steam room, mould all over the tile grout. Please go into administration so some other firm can take over cuz everlast ain’t lasting. Spa are stinks of dirty sewage.

Negative experience: Pay a premium which doesn’t reflect the times the jacuzzi is shut this past year the jacuzzis have been out of use for roughly 70% of the year … equipment in the gym torn and hard to find.. management don’t have answers to the simplest of questions, the ceiling once collapsed in the showers and waited 3 weeks for a fix… no compensation, to the 3 complaints made 3x throughout the year nothing but apologies… been a member for a year but the contracted premium I pay and for the level or service and use of facilities doesn’t show value for money.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place lots of machines that you can work on with explanation how to work out. Swimpool is in good size and lots of space for swimming. There is also steam room and jacuzzi for relaxing time.

Negative experience: The staff are great and friendly and the gym is OK however the compliments stop there. The "spa" facilities rarely work, the showers keep breaking and the steam room is hardly ever full of steam. It's unusual for both Jacuzzis to be open at the same time, which results in people being squeezed in which is not relaxing at all.

Negative experience: I joined as I live very close by but have cancelled within 3 months because: - The showers have been broken for extended periods of time (over 5 weeks last time). This is utterly unacceptable. - There is now a broken jacuzzi too - Several of the weights machines have been broken for several weeks. Not likely to see them fixed anytime soon. -The class schedule is a joke - There is basically no PT available - The cleaning standards are severely sub par It's saying something that I'm moving to the public gym (bwd) as it's standards are significantly better and its cheaper

Negative experience: The gym at Guide on Blackburn is disguting. It is dirty, the men's toilets and changing area are filthy. There has been no toilet paper in the cubicles for a week even though it has been reported. There are only two showers for the men to use in the swimming area. The showers in the changing rooms have not worked for weeks. To top it all some of the weight machines are broken and are in need of repair. Am unable to say what the ladies facilities are like.
Negative experience: Not a bad gym but being told my account was cancelled and now finding out it’s built up a debt is a pisstake and when getting in touch with them about it they just said I had to pay WHEN I WAS TOLD MY ACCOUNT HAD BEEN CANCELLED! How is that fair in any way
Positive experience: Recently joined and what I’ve experienced so far from the gym is good. Yes the price is higher than JD, but honestly I pay for the pool. Gym equipment is good but I just do a small work out then head to the pool to big swim. Pool is nice and warm, people are polite.

Fantastic experience: Joined back after change of ownership and 18 months of C-19! Not as busy yet but staff really helpful and classes are just right, something for everybody. Equipment is well placed, lots of cleaning sprays n wipes too which I hope will continue to be the case as that was an issue for me long before covid, some people sweat more than others!!!! But yeah, great to be back!!! And the cost per month includes everything AND the pool, other gyms lack that, can take kids at certain times too, good luck everlast!

Positive experience: The Gyms good the equipment is starting to take a battering and the managements idea is to tape up and put signs on out of order machines instead of repairing them quickly. I don’t get the feeling they want to maintain standards. Some Lockers are broken and haven't been repaired for weeks. Another criticism is the workers don’t really seem like Gym specialists as in I wouldn’t go to them for advice or anything. I’d have to book a personal trainer for advice on form etc which shouldn’t be the case. DW staff would be very knowledgeable and would offer advice. The smoothie zone that used to be at DW no longer exist. They could be selling protein bars, smoothies, small salads for extra revenue.
Negative experience: Worst Gym in the area. Old and tired machinery, Air conditioning not working, broken showers - Not sure how long they will remain open.
Positive experience: Theres noone to help you with equipment so I only do classes but they aren't late enough really for me with work, and theres nothing at all wed to fri eves for me. There are kids in the pool sunday mornings and spoil swim and jacuzzi by screaming and throwing inflatable balls about. The lights are too bright around the jacuzzi so it isnt very relaxing.

Negative experience: I have never been a member of Everlast. I was a member of DW for many years, cancelled my membership just before lockdown and a couple of months before DW went into administration. Everlast then began taking payments from my account with no notice. Having tried to speak several times to customer services, the most I’ve managed to get out of anyone is that this is DW’s fault for passing on my info and that I am still liable to pay and wait out a notice period. The whole process has been exhausting and the company have shown themselves to be shady, unreliable and unprofessional. When I got a partial refund for some of the money I had wrongfully been charged (but not all of it, mind you), I had to do it via indemnity claim as they don’t have the facilities to refund via BACS. Again, weird, shady and unprofessional. I have also requested information on how to make a complaint and was told in no uncertain terms that they would tell me the same thing and it wouldn’t help at all.
Positive experience: The screen is on a 1 minute loop, gets very repetitive.
Negative experience: Withdrew funds from previous DW fitness members accounts with no notice, an increase in price and a contract that nobody signed up for. Unscrupulous company, I'm not even sure how this is legal
