Negative experience: Very disappointing, keeping in mind i have two babies under 2 i was happy to take them swimming, disgusting waters & the changing rooms are a disgrace i found nappies in 3 different changing rooms, obviously not necessarily the staffs fault but one looked like it had been there for a week causing a nasty smell. The least a leisure centre could do is keep up with hygiene being 10/10 considering small children are allowed. Some staff are nice some make absolutely no sense & look like they’re working there at gun point.
Negative experience: Lovely gym, but they make it nearly impossible to cancel an account. I have emailed countless times and am still being made to pay late fees as the only way I could cancel is to cancel the direct debit.
Negative experience: Filthy and smelly water in small pool. Smells rotten. Filthy swimming pool changing rooms. It's a risk to take small children there
Negative experience: Poor quality equipment rude and demanding member's you can hardly use half the machines you may as well go oasis gym which is nearly 5 stars and cheaper don’t recommend
Negative experience: Poor quality machines, rude members, pay for a membership you can hardly used due to amount of people and the fact you can’t use half of the things in it. Not great. If you have options don’t come here. If you don’t have options workout at home.
Positive experience: Gym is OK. No issues there. Maybe cable rowing machines be nice but there are alternatives. Other new kit just installed. Staff is friendly enough. Since I became a member I never had an issue contacting the receptionist or office. Swimming pool is nice. I enjoy going there. Due to its size if there is more than 10 people booked it gets crowded. The biggest negative are the locker rooms, both at the gym and pool. Most of the lockers don’t work, they are old and smell really bad. Some are padlock only some are for 50p coin. Not cleaned very often. There are massive dust patches in men’s changing room clearly not touched for ages. The toilet and shower are awful due to bad smell. Honestly I don’t know how this can be ignored. No rules for parents who are dropping off children for swimming lessons. They stand by the lockers (blocking the access) looking at you taking the sower after your swim. I’m not necessarily shy but it feels very uncomfortable. Some rules should be in place for that or the instructor should pick up the kids in the locker room so parents can stay in the waiting area. If this things would be addressed this review would get 5 star no doubt. Unfortunately real letdown on the facilities.
Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre
Fantastic experience: Have swum here on and off since 1995. I have a swim membership which is good in that you can book sessions online up to a week in advance. Staff are friendly. I particularly like the lane swim sessions. Think it’s good value and there’s two other pools you can use.
Negative experience: The staff here are incredibly unwelcoming and rude, especially the receptionist, a fat woman. with red hair. It was my first time back at the gym in nearly two years, and when I asked her questions about the facilities, she made me feel like I was interrupting her. When I inquired about the shower, she dismissively mentioned there were curtains, but when I pointed out there weren't, she simply turned away to continue chatting with her colleagues. Her attitude has completely discouraged me from returning to this gym. Additionally, considering the hefty £40 monthly fee, it's disappointing that there are no private shower options available.
Negative experience: When cancelling our gym membership they proceeded to ask us for evidence that we had moved away. We sent it, then a month later they replied.. charging us for the month that they neglected our emails and then adding an additional fine on. We are uni students so this has been a hard hit. Would not recommend at all! Especially if you go to performers, do not waste your money here and go elsewhere:)
Fantastic experience: Is ok
Negative experience: I used to use this pool pre-pandemic and loved it. Then they introduced a ridiculous pre-booking system that essentially makes it impossible for non-members to book swimming slots. So disappointing. I try to check periodically by phone if they have changed the system but nobody ever answers the phone. I drive from Stanford to swim in Billericay now.
Positive experience: 71£ per month is a high price .
Fantastic experience: I've been a member here since we moved to Corringham 18 months ago, stuff are excellent, helpful and friendly, plus it doesn't get overcrowded at all, totally recommended
Positive experience: Bad gym overrall tbh. Tiny with only technogym equipment which is so poor. The only good parts are the people in there and the staff are good. Overrall though, not a good gym
Negative experience: BE AWARE! Got my green DKNY bag and black leather CD wallet stolen at 9am on Friday 02/09/2022 while in the Women's toilet. I had to call the police as my house keys, ID, earbuds pro and bank cards were inside. Still waiting to hear from Impulse Manager in that matters. Now my friend got her sunglasses stolen from that gym on Wednesday . So there are THIEVES who pay to come to the local gym and steal your things. There is a tracking on for my earbuds. Please spread the message and watch out !!! PS: attached model pictures of my things
Negative experience: You would be lucky if reception picks up the phone, not a great start
Negative experience: Having used this pool since I was a child its so disappointing that since the pandemic its become like trying to win the lottery to go swimming with my children. As a non member I need to fill out a survey online, but as children are under 16 it can't be done online near impossible to get hold of anyone on phone so am I supposed to attend prior to wanting to swim. What a faff!! Ive seen many many comments regarding the long winded procedures and ever increasing DD for those who have memberships I would advise Impulse Leisure sort this out before they find themselves closed due to people taking their custom elsewhere
Negative experience: Never answer the phone, not easy to book a swimming session and only this company is still not opening their pools to the public normally like everywhere else. Ridiculous
Negative experience: These people are allergic to answering the phone, I'm looking to book a swimming session for my family and you'd think there was no one working there. Walked in for a quote on walk in gym sessions and got given the 20 minute sales speech about how I should sign a contract for a year's membership. I know there's covid going on with the 99% survival rate but how is that an excuse to ignore 5 consecutive phone calls, this business is a joke when it comes to receptionist capabilities.
Negative experience: Run by apathetic insolent people. Not helpful or welcoming. I left before class started. First attempt to go to aquafit this was an NHS referral I will not ho there again. Thurrock should keep an eye on their staff
Negative experience: It's been more than 3 months since the air conditioning It's broken at the pool in the parents waiting area, and it is boiling hot with 10 persons in 10m² And the staff (the young ♂️ lifeguard) got very very rude when I mentioned this. Honestly this is ridiculous. Do you need us to sort it out for you!?

Negative experience: Disgusting company that bullies it's members into staying on contract paying for a service that they don't want to or cannot use. My girlfriend has health issues possibly related to endometriosis suffering from headaches and nausea including abdominal pain plus abnormal bleeding. Not to mention she has relocated away from that area and Is now living closer to southend. Yet this company has the cheek to bully her into sensitive information like medical reports from her doctor and specifics on her new address. You need to learn to treat customers with respect event those that wish to part with your services.
Negative experience: My grandchild went swimming lessons on a Saturday morning for a 17 months, in that time apart from covid19 the lesson got cancelled on a regular basis the night before via email. due to no instructor. When I called to confirm they would say you will get your money back in 8 weeks time, completely missing the point. After the 2nd lock down my grandchild went back to there swimming lessons & was told now they are 2yrs old they can move up a group and did attend 3 lessons. After the 3rd lock down my grandchild returned to there swimming lesson after waiting 4 weeks for a new instructor. When my grandchild went back to there 1st lesson was told they unable to be moved up to the nx lesson as theres no spaces & had to return back to the duckling group. When my son & myself questioned this, we both was told we can't take another child out of the lesson, we fully understand this but why my grandchild? Why has my grandchild been the 1 to be taken out? Each time a child attends a lesson, a register is taken, on this occasion there's no record of my grandchild attending there 3 lessons in the nx group? I even spoke to her old instructor that was working on reception who informed me of the new instructor starting & when my grandchild could return to there swimming lessons. He never mentioned about no spaces in the next group & how he use to teach Ellie & her being in the next group? But there's no record of this? We Cancelled our membership will not be returning. Disgusting to treat a child like this. Manager & staff very unhelpful
Positive experience: Just your average swimming pools really. 3 pools. Staff friendly enough and there is a gym here also.

Negative experience: Who does only an hour slot on a weekend? Pricey. ridiculous. Wont return
Positive experience: I take my son to the weekly toddler swimming lessons which he enjoys but the changing rooms and pool could do with a much needed make over.
Negative experience: Pools are fine, but hour restriction quite off-putting. Lockers, showers and other facilities really not good enough. Not sure why people would use this place with other options locally. Has all the feel of somewhere being run down to closure.
Fantastic experience: Staff friendly and members are all ages so feel comfortable there..well maintained and offers wide activities 2 suit everyone..

Negative experience: Took kids in half term, in the morning. Pools were closed for private function. Not impressed at all. Went Basildon sporting village, much better. Cheaper, 3 pools, great staff and food price good too. Never going Corringham Impulse ever again!

Negative experience: I can only review this based on my experience and what I was looking for. So ideally I wanted to negotiate a short term gym membership with them. They would not negotiate at all on time line or price! so they wanted a minimum of £70 joining fee plus at least a 6 month contract. I will take my business elsewhere thankyou!
