Negative experience: Staff often do not pick up phone.They can often be found smoking cigs outside instead.Airconditioning was broken for several weeks during heatwave a couple of years back, no one replied to my emails while I was paying membership and could not use gym because of heat in room.

Positive experience: The showers and changing rooms get cleaned every day, which is great! There are also blow dryers that can be used after, so it's very convenient. But there are no closed shower cubicles. Also, those who are lifeguards and meant to watch, really don't seem to do a good job whatsoever. They sit on the side and just talk to each other for the duration of the swim session. I don't think they'd realize if anything happens unless someone were to alert them, which is less than ideal, obviously.

Negative experience: If you ever want to bear witness to a professional shitshow then this is your place. Facilities often not working, cancelled lessons and expect you to still pay, no updates to lesson progress. They have a real opportunity to be great, but why bother when acceptable is good enough!

Negative experience: Joined 1 month ago and it’s not for me, I only wanted to use the gym. The shower situation isn’t feasible for me doing a work out then have to get changed into swim wear to have a shower, you can’t shower properly because they literally run for about 10 seconds before you have press the button again. My advice always go and view a gym before joining. I joined this one because it’s round the corner from work so could go before my shift but now wish I hadn’t

Negative experience: Well I tried to phone twice and each time someone just cut me off after a few rings. Hence the one star. I wanted to know if the showers for the swimming pool are communal or if there are private cubicles.

Positive experience: It's a great local gym which has recently been renovated. The only issue is the disabled lift which has been out of order for about a year.

Fantastic experience: Took my grandchildren to the pool here, they loved it especially the jumping diving boards. Will be going back soon. Been back to the pool just before Christmas. Fantastic, once more the kiddies loved it. Nice clean quiet pool had so much fun

Negative experience: DO NOT GO THERE IF YES YOU HAVE A DISABLED CHILD. it is not disability friendly and staff are not trained for children with autism and ADHD even though they say they are. Had problem with some of the staff telling me to get in the pool with my autism child because my daughter who is with him at all times I case he runs she has a chance to get him to stop running into the deep pool and if she doesn’t get him I can because I’m not in the pool and able to catch him before he goes into the deep pool and causes danger for himself . The staff were ignorant of my child’s needs and gave us dirty looks because they are lazy and don’t want to do anything they looked at me and my daughter differently and felt discriminated and not welcomed definitely not a place that is friendly towards others and staff some hateful of people with disability. WILL NOT RETURN and manager made them group up about my child because he has autism very discriminative.

Negative experience: Bad experience and bad decision to join this Place .. on my first visit i had a bad experience .. staff rude and not profissional ,no organization in the place .i will cancel my membership straight away ...no recommend

Negative experience: ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL locker was robbed whilst we was swimming with children. Two iPhones an essentials hoodie and a handbag was taken. Staff were useless, stated that “they couldn’t see anything noticeable on cctv” they don’t cover insurance for “the public’s items” which is disgusting. We paid for secure lockers so be able to keep our belongings safe and then got robbed. They then proceeded to hand me an email to report our incident too. Shocking ‼️‼️‼️‼️

Negative experience: Very rude staff they literally let a 7 year old swim to the deep part while they didn't let a 19 year old to swim there just because I was wearing hijab and was muslim like so racist bro was the worst place ever don't go there!

Positive experience: I have been going to this gym for roughly 2 years now. The main reason I picked this gym is because I am to young to get into any other gyms. Whiles it has not been the best experience every time, most of the time it is. Equipment was alright before but now after the renovating, every thing is amazing. Layout simply makes sense, good variety of machines and I would not describe it as spotless but it is clean. Most of the staff are extremely friendly and nice. There is facilitates to store bikes and scooters safely in a locked shed. I love this gym. The only reason I will be switching when I am old enough is because of the size. It is quite a small gym. My only complaint is a lot of people do not re rack and the ones who do are not in order. Besides for that, this is a amazing gym were lots of gains can be made.

Negative experience: One of the worst place to send your child to learn swimming. Instructors are so unprofessional and ill mannered it's unacceptable. Judy is the worst one. No manners at all how to speak to parents and she thinks she own this planet. My child's swimming career over all down to her.

Negative experience: Treated badly with disrespect and got kicked out for a very dum reason we were just playing then we had a 9 year old child and he wasn't very good at swimming so we were watching him in the shallow end she told us to stay with him without saying please and was very rude

Negative experience: Great Pool. Great Sauna and Steam Room. But was shocked when it became a Female only time. I was virtually escorted from the building. In these times of gender equality how can these places exist? They did not ask and assumed my gender. No other Lesuire Centre in Salford is like this. A lawsuit may be forth coming.

Negative experience: Avoid it if you want to do family swim staff was opening the back door letting freezing air inside when outside is 0°C and snow.My daughter was turning purple in seconds .

Fantastic experience: The swimming changing rooms & lockers are well laid out. Can't really comment on much else. Parking may be an issue at peak times.

Negative experience: Never seen a community gym so hungry for money ,paid for family swimming then when I wanted to use the big pool, because i wanted to burn some energy i was told I had to pay to use the lane pool , then I wanted to use the sauna guess what I had to pay to use the sauna

Negative experience: Very Rudd and racist stuff and very racist people in there if u r muslim and u r not white they treat u very bad. They were being racist to my 3 years old daughter.

Fantastic experience: If you want a swimming club I'd highly recommend salfordcity swimming club for the little ones

Negative experience: Horrible expierence! Gym is hardly ever cleaned & limited equipment. Overly priced membership for pathetic services. There was never any water or even senitizer in the gym.Even cancellations will cost over £40!! Regret wasting my time and money.

Negative experience: Suppose it is possible to give a zero star. That is what I will be given the current manager of this centre. He has harassed several ladies and me during the Tuesday ladies-only sauna session, and I wonder why such a person should be a manager. He has no regard for people. The other staff are lovely, but please, if you hear the manager, just run ‍♀️. His management style is harrament.

Fantastic experience: So many resistance machines, free weight equipment, cardio machines,mats for stretching exercises. After gym has been renovated interior look much better than previously, also some exercise machines has been brought to this gym. Deep swimming pool , small size pool for kids , steam room and sauna ! But if separate shower area for man and woman will be provided or cabin shower will be great!

Fantastic experience: Great place with very friendly and helpful staff, Marie is usually the first friendly face you meet when you walk in.

Negative experience: Staff are nice and the changing area is clean with big lockers and hairdryers, option to buy some swim gear at reception like floats and pool noodles, googles. Pool would be great if it wasn't freezing! My toddler was so cold, we had to take him out. The small pool was too cold for people to use and then they closed it but the big pool was also freezing They closed off a lot of the area for lanes which wouldn't be a big deal if the small pool was working for kids to use instead but it wasn't so all the kids and parents got squashed into a tiny area to swim in. Overall I wouldn't go back unless the water temperature was better.

Fantastic experience: Council owned leisure centre with gym, fitness classes and 2 swimming pools. The children's swimming lessons are really good value.

Negative experience: All staff like animals is rubbish Service

Negative experience: there is a Jewish facility only and Jewish time only that's why they moved the steamer and sauna to a corner which is not appropriate for that there is nowhere to cool down either going inside the steamer and sauna to get fried or when you come out freezing to death .very poor management.

Fantastic experience: Can’t fault this leisure centre. Excellent gym with several treadmills, bikes and cross trainers. Plenty of free weights and one of each common gym equipment. Usually very quiet so rarely need to wait to use equipment. Good sized pool, again usually not too busy. Sauna and steam also included in membership. Staff are always friendly and helpful and had no problems in maintaining my gym access following a recent external issue.

Negative experience: said we couldnt pay to go in until 2:30 we waited then they said it was full it was whack

Fantastic experience: My experience here since I came back after illness have been wonderful. I can't say enough about the staff who act so professionally, they are welcoming, pleasant, helpful and they make your time at the facility that more enjoyable. I am very impressed by the cleanness off the place and how great the staff are at ensuring the covid threat is reduced by their awareness and actions to combat this virus. I have no difficulty in promoting this place and would encourage people to come here, to a safe friendly environment . It will do you the world of good and your health will be greatly improved no matter what age you are.

I got a 12 week free gym pass from a person that I know hahahah people had to pay for £30 a month but I went for this gym for 12 weeks for free this summer hahahahahaha and the gym manager is a little tiny guy loool even my dad's taller than him hahahahahahahahaha

Fantastic experience: Broughton leisure center is a lovely place to go swimming the pool is clean and the shower area is clean I have been going to Broughton Baths for over 50 years firs with my Dad then school and I got a free pass for.doing my length and.mr and my mates went every day in the school holidays good memories 10 out of 10 from me

Fantastic experience: Great value sports centre, home pool for city of salford swim club. Always busy with groups servicing the local people of Broughton. Knowledgeable and friendly staff help to ensure groups of all ages get the most from their visits.

Negative experience: Expensive for no reason if u pay for the pool u expect to use the sauna as one. With this leisure centre u have to pay for both not worth it. And i dont see why locals dont get a discount.

Negative experience: The new sauna and steam is a massive disappointment. People who use this alot have been short changed. All they've done is put the sauna and steam room next to the childs pool. There's no loungers, nowhere to sit if you need 5-10 minutes to cool down other than by the pool (oh, there's a grand total of 2 chairs directly outside the sauna). Doesn't have it's own showers so if you're there when it's full of kids you have to wait for a shower to be free as it's so busy. I've never been to a sauna and steam room that doesn't have an area to relax alongside it before. Part of going to the sauna is having a rest and a chat with other people who are there. You can't do this now other than actually inside the sauna and steam room. I'm now looking for somewhere else to take up a paid membership.

Negative experience: Never answer the phone.

Positive experience: The gym area is small with limited machines (only one of everything, except for treadmills) but I prefer it to the larger gym chains as from 10 - 3pm it's so quiet and relaxed, no queuing for equipment! There's also a large, newly refurbished womens room. One big negative: changing facilities are terrible! One big unisex room full of kids swimming groups, and lockers you have to pay to use.

Negative experience: Today I called the leisure centre to confirm opening times for the pool. I was informed by the automated system that the pool was open from 12:30 to 14:30 for general swim followed by splash time at 14:30 onward. I have walked to the centre with my 7 year old daughter to be told the pool is closed till February. When I asked the girl on the desk why it says different on the automated message she argued that it has been changed so I am mistaken. When I confirmed the message almost word for word she accepted the mistake. No apology was made and when I thanked them for their time and left I wasn't even acknowledged with a response. The girl in question is blonde with glasses and think some customer service training is much needed. Broughton Baths is a childhood haunt of mine and in walking distance from home but I will not be returning. I will go to Manchester Aquatic Centre from now on.

Negative experience: Worst gym I've been to, lack of communication from the staff in the reception, not very good management. If there is a tournaments in the pool why don't you inform the gym members?.? I've been two days in the row to swim and use the steam room and I can't use the facilities because of the tournaments taking place and I wasn't aware of it. People are shaving in the steam room and and Sauna.....??? I've spoken to reception about it in still happening that shows me the management don't care or look after the entire facility. Very frustrating I would not recommend this facility to anyone!!

Negative experience: if you are able to travel i would suggest that you make use of the other fit city facilities where you are treated in a pleasant manner. Since the lady who was on reception left after the refurbishment and the staff moved to the reception area customer relations at reception is extremely poor. People who have have been charged the wrong price for off peak classes and today my partner was told by reception she owed £4 as a penalty for a class she missed that she has never booked,never been too and never would and as her membership is for a 70 year old does not pay for classes. if the actual class i attend was not so good i would not set foot in the place. we attend fit city classes at Walkden, Swinton and Salford sports village and have never had any complaints at any of those. Somebody at Broughton fit city needs to get on top of things there,just look at all the complaints about the place.

Negative experience: Dirty place..unfriendly staff with dump and dirty pool. Kids couldn't enjoy it because other swimmers were shouting at them bully old pensioners. The place needs to be cleaned and there should supervision around the pool as the elderly pensioner can be rude and bully to the kids. I would never go to this place again
