StartSmart is a 12-week support programme, during which time our trainers will provide guidance and expertise.You will also receive top tips along the way to improve your fitness and wellbeing.
HealthSmart is a complimentary member service, delivered by our coaches to assist with improving overall fitness over a six week period. The programme starts with a 45-minute programme in which we understand more about you.
Our gym floors are designed with you in mind. Our Functional Training Zone includes TRX Suspension Training, Viipr, Kettlebells and Power Bags. Functional is a fantastic new interactive way to workout. It can make you more adept in your ability to ‘function’ faster, stronger and ultimately with more ease.
Each member receives a complimentary StartSmart programme on joining. From your results you will receive a gym programme designed to suit what you want to achieve.

Negative experience: My recent experience with Bannatyne is some what disheartening. Speaking with one of there team on the reception via phone I found the interaction to be quite challenging. It appears that the particular member of the team struggles with communication and engagement in public environments. There were several instances where I felt the lack of clarity and enthusiasm during our exchanges, which significantly affected the overall experience. I have since cancelled my membership due to this individuals lack of training and experience within the public sector. This environment is supposed to be one of a higher standard facilities. Another 1 star to add to their collection.

Negative experience: do u have to pay the sauna separate? because i read that you get "10% off" Bannatyne spas

Fantastic experience: Having been a member of Bannatyne of a couple of years I can say that Khaleel the membership advisor is a true asset to the company. Fantastic experience: Bannatyne Leicester provides the fundamentals that are essential for starting, or continuing, your gym experience. Staff display a fantastic sense of welcoming customer service. Particularly, Khaleel on the front desk excels in his contribution to the community at Bannatyne. He portrays the company exceptionally and is an asset to the workplace. I expect others will share the same experience and be able to build a supportive relationship with staff from day one. The membership fee is higher than most commercial gyms in the area, but access to the spa and staff going above and beyond justifies the price.

Positive experience: I joined in the summer of 2024 and used the gym for a few months before deciding to cancel my membership. It’s not a particularly bad gym but I ended up feeling I was paying over the odds for what I was getting, particularly when I have no interest in the pool and sauna. If you’re looking for PureGym with a pool and sauna, this might well work for you. I’m not sure Duncan would appreciate me likening one of his exclusive, premium, health clubs to a budget chain but I do unfortunately struggle to see what the Leicester club really offers over and above the budget gyms save perhaps for the pool and sauna. The club is tired and in need of some modernisation and redecoration. The changing rooms are like a time machine to the 80s and a number of the lockers are always out of order - I opened one of them and the door fell off once. The gym equipment always seems to me to be well-maintained and it is modern but I’d expect that from any gym. The pool doesn’t look particularly inviting but, as I say, I don’t swim anyway. There is a good range of classes offered. I attended yoga a few times and it was good, in fairness. It’s just a strange offering at £45 per month (on the three month contract). If you want value for money, clean surroundings, modern equipment and good opening hours, then the budget gyms absolutely blow this out of the water. Especially when most of them give you multi-gym access as standard and are open 24/7. If you want a more premium experience, then Bannatyne falls far short of that as well. Nuffield is a far better shout or perhaps David Lloyd if you’re bringing in the big bucks. It’s a gym that doesn’t really know what it is or what it wants to be. I feel like this was once a premium offering but, as time has passed and it’s been somewhat neglected, they’ve fallen into some no man’s land between budget and premium. And a word of warning, they don’t make it as easy as it could be to cancel. Even on a rolling contract, you’re required to give one month’s notice in advance. Depending on timing, this has the effect of squeezing potentially more than a single month of additional fees out of you. You can’t just pay up for the month and say you’re out. Some might think that’s reasonable and I suppose when compared to the usual 12 month contract, it’s a doddle to duck out of. I did have to ring the club because it wasn’t clear from the member’s portal how to cancel or where to give notice to. This attracted a somewhat frosty response. I certainly wouldn’t use the word “rude” but it was obvious that my request to cancel had pressed some buttons. There certainly was no, “I’m really sorry to hear you would like to leave. Is there any particular reason? Is there anything we could do better?” Maybe that will come when I send an email giving notice. Overall, not for me. Not terrible but, when I have a PureGym on my doorstep with 24/7 opening hours and multi-gym access, it doesn’t make financial sense to pay more for something that isn’t really offering anything in return. If I feel I want something premium, I’ll rejoin Nuffield. If there were some investment in the club to bring it up to par with Nuffield Leicester, then I’d consider rejoining.

Positive experience: This gym has everything you need but is overpriced and in desperate need of refurbishment. The gym equipment is good and you have everything you need for a workout. I can’t believe that they advertise Spa days here though! The facilites are run down and the venue has the feeling of a council leisure centre vs a spa. My partner and I paid £25 for a day pass which didn’t include a towel. If you want a towel it’s an extra £3.50! Plus you have to pay a £5 deposit! Rather than welcoming us to the gym, the reception girl seemed more obsessed with making sure we paid for the towels. I’d paid online but it wasn’t showing on her system so she was trying to make me pay again. When I assured her that I’d paid she said that they’d needed to ‘launch an investigation’! And she wasn’t joking! Eventually I managed to show her a bank statement that proved that I could take a towel! It was really unbelievable. And the towel is just a small white towel you’d get anywhere! The sauna area was crowded and not particularly female friendly. My girlfriend didn’t feel comfortable there with the clientele. The changing rooms are not clean and the showers don’t have shampoo or conditioner. All the lockers and doors are falling apart and need replacing. The reception area feels like it’s not changed since the 90’s. Otherall, if you want a gym that has everything you need for a workout and sauna this place is fine. If you want to take your partner for a spa day this is definitely not the place!

Negative experience: Bannatyne is offering Open days 18-22 Nov. I booked my friend through website and system allowed me the date yesterday and time slot. On arriveal , staff said that they needed 24 hourts notice alsthough gym was empty and it is not terms and condition not on the booking page. They refused . They could be courtious and would allow. I had to drop back my friend and then have to come back for normal workout. Both staffs at reception do not know customer service, seems descriminating as i was wearing athenic clothes on arrival.

Fantastic experience: Love the swimming pool here. Although I wish it were longer (it's 24 meters) and slightly too warm for speed swimming it's nevertheless the best pool I have seen in the UK. And despite not having used them they have a Jacuzzi and steam room that one day I plan to use.

Negative experience: We had a spa day booked there and it was the worst spa I’ve been to. I had a voucher for two worth over £100 and they didn’t offer towels or gowns like every other spa does. It didn’t have a relaxing spa feel to the place, it was just a big gym with a sauna and pool. We had a 45 minute massage treatment and the two young girls who did our treatments were giggling the whole way through. This made us feel awkward and embarrassed, and we felt we were being laughed at while we were laying there having our treatments. And when the treatments were finished, they left the room and immediately burst out laughing. This was extremely unprofessional from them. No part of our day felt relaxing and it’s definitely the worse spa we’ve been to. If anyone is looking to book a relaxing spa day I would not recommend this place.
Negative experience: The swimming pool closed at 1930 and then there was a queue due 2 showers not working and also everyone taking their time in shower. So had only 10 mins to get ready. I wasnt the last one to be out. It was 2005 and got told by staff that it closed at 2000 and i told them the problem but he just didnt care. Then, on my way out, said thank you to the girl at the reception, no reply, i reminded myself that i forgot to punch the card. I asked the girl politely to punch the card for me, and again there were still more people inside, and only few mins went past. Then she went on and tell me that she is not getting paid for these minutes, and that i should be outside, I told her about the problem about the queue and the showers, but she said she doesnt care. This is very rude, i was nothing but nice to all the staff. I have worked for customer service for a long time, and if you are closing the business you know that you are going to lose few minutes of your unpaid time, it doesnt take much to be nice to someone that was polite even if there were problems. In addition, why does a gym close at 2000 on a Saturday? Other than that the rest of the gym is good, equipment is good, and also the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, a little too crowded tho

In line with this, the poolside closes at 19:30 on weekends. Our male changing rooms are equipped with 11 showers, which we believe is sufficient to meet the demand. Negative experience: Would never recommend this place !I just called and tryed to obtain a extension of the voucher for the spa and the receptionist just hang up on me .Try to call again 10 times,did not bother to answer phone .E-mail them 3 times,no answer back .THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Negative experience: Hygiene level disgraceful. Black rim around pool from dirt. Sand and scum all over bottom of pool. Murky water. Mucky floors. For the price paid I am disgusted in the cleanliness of Bannatyne leicester

Fantastic experience: My partner and I came for spa treatments today and we can honestly say Trinity is amazing. Positive experience: We went for a spa day which was really nice, the service was excellent and really good value for money. The only thing is that you have to go in knowing that it’s a gym with swimming pool and sauna area which is amazing but if you’re going there for the spa day, it is just an extra facility that the gym offers. Negative experience: Honestly, this should be a nice gym by all accounts. However, The changing rooms have not had a refurb in probably 30/40 years. The showers are just dirty. The saunas and steam rooms have mould in them. Yes they have refurbished upstairs but even then you find yourself restricted during busy times. Also the manager and some staff have major attitude. The only advantage is that it’s city centre based with free parking.
Fantastic experience: I'd gone to look around and Naomi showed me around made me so comfortable, Lisa was also lovely offering me help with my recovery, I signed up instantly because the team are so lovely, I came in for my first swim as it's always lane swims which is perfect for me. Naomi was very welcoming said hello and how I felt about my first swim, was super excited tried the hot tub as it was available to use. There's showers and changing spaces and a place to dry your swimming costume. It wasn't too busy when I went and I felt comfortable. I went to leave after and Naomi was asking about my swim and it was lovely I feel really welcomed and excited for my recovery journey, the gym looks clean and plenty of bits so excited to get strong enough to use some, Lisa said she could show me how to use bits, so I can rebuild the muscles in my body, like I say I'm recovering from an accident so the team have been so supportive. Excited to go again!

Negative experience: I booked a treatment at Bannatyne Spa for 10:30 am this morning, taking the morning off work because I'm in pain and desperately needed this session. Imagine my shock and disappointment when I received a call at 9:30 am, just an hour before my appointment, telling me that my booking was made by mistake and there was no availability. Seriously? This is beyond unprofessional. I was then informed that I couldn't get a refund and would need to reschedule. Excuse me? Why should I be inconvenienced further for your incompetence? To make matters worse, they told me I’d have to wait until Thursday to speak with a manager if I wanted to discuss a refund. So not only do they waste my time, but they also expect me to jump through hoops to get my money back. I will never reschedule with Bannatyne Spa, and I strongly urge others to avoid this place like the plague. There are plenty of other spas that know how to honor appointments and treat their customers with respect, something Bannatyne clearly lacks. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere that values your time and money—this place certainly doesn’t!

Negative experience: I recently visited Bannatyne Spa Leicester for birthday treatments, and while the spa treatments themselves were very relaxing and enjoyable, the overall experience was unfortunately disappointing. The main issue was the state of the facility outside of the treatment rooms. The hygiene standards were notably poor, with several areas appearing dirty and unkempt. Additionally, the spa was extremely overcrowded, making it difficult to fully relax and enjoy the amenities. The sauna, in particular, was cold and not functioning as expected, which further detracted from the experience. The overall condition of the facility did not meet the expectations set by the reputation of Bannatyne Spas, and this significantly impacted what should have been a special and rejuvenating visit. I hope that Bannatyne Spa Leicester addresses these concerns to improve the experience for future visitors.
Negative experience: Sent letter as a form of cancellation, the gym now lost the letter and are demanding two months worth of payments, diabolical customer service from Chloe and Khaleel! It’s shocking considering I have been a member for a year and a half, such disappointment!! Really awful that the pool was constantly closed due to carelessness of the staff!!
Positive experience: People were friendly but the place isn't half as nice and up together as it looks in the pictures. Had a couples massage of which they had rescheduled the time without telling us so we were waiting for an additional hour. The massage wasn't very good and we felt rather rushed as clients. Not the cleanest there either. Wouldn't recommend to people. Although we didn't use the gym, only pool area.
Negative experience: I joined this gym with high expectations! Though unfortunately just after a few visits my confidence was shattered. Many locker rooms are falling off their hinges and left unfixed for days, soap dispensers are perpetually empty and all showers cubicles are rarely working. Most of the toilets are left to collect bacteria, hardly cleaned and some seats are broken. As for the saunas and steam room they’re even worse! I’ve lost count the amount of times they’ve been out of use due to irresponsible members tampering with workings. one of the Saunas doesn’t even reach the required temperature! I wait for it to warm up and it doesn’t happen! As you enter and leave the gym some of the reception staff seen indifferent, their aloofness and false behaviour emit a unwelcoming ambiance. light of the above, I regret to inform you that I will be terminating my membership soon. I implore you to reevaluate your standards, invest in substantial improvements and retrain your staff. Come on Duncan you can do better this!!
Negative experience: I was a member years ago & this place was like my second home. Apart from Barbra, Paolo & a few more staff members, it’s never like before. A few staff members are making you feel uncomfortable, empty and useless. Unfortunately you end up bumping into some members who think they own the whole gym but, in reality we all paid members. We have every right to use the gym facilities without any abuse or harassment from longstanding members. I rejoined this gym due to location and familiarity with the area. I never knew I would have to give a honest review about this gym. The management must be aware of this situation. There should be transparency in how they operate. It’s quite shameful to see how it’s running down slowly. You have members who break the sauna by pouring water and tampering with the thermostat. Then moaning about it when it’s not working. Seen people shaving in the sink without cleaning up & I have cleaned up area on many occasions. I am afraid the respect and integrity is extremely low in this gym. With my upmost respect, but some of the members from ethnic minorities smiler like myself are bringing their culture and traditions with them. Don’t do that. This is England not a third world. Honestly speaking, I now regret bringing two people to join the gym. I really thought it will be the same gym I was a member of years ago but clearly it’s not. It’s no longer fit for purpose. I would be telling lies if there are any positive things about this gym. Go somewhere where you are welcome, respected & hygiene level is high not a place where your morals, values and integrity is going down or you have members who do not care about their hygiene standards. Sorry it’s a little long & confusing however, this review is to help you make informed choices about your health and fitness. Edit: I saw Michael, a gentleman with glasses who’s a new cleaner was cleaning everywhere.. I was thinking.. Thank you for cleaning the changing room but, Cleaning for who? Some selfish members have 0 respect for this club! Without mentioning any name, I have seen one staff member smoking Class B drug just before entering the club. I think it should be 0 policy for all kind of drug taking. As it can mess with their mental capacity. When I speak to the HeadOffice team in a few weeks, I will mention that to her. It’s unacceptable.

Positive experience: Not the best gym not the worst. Expensive for what you pay for but I like that it’s a small quiet gym.
Positive experience: Could do with an update but staff are friendly, people are friendly and I try to go during off peak so always get space in the Sauna, Hot tub and steam room.
Negative experience: I’m absolutely disgusted by bannantyne and how they dealt with me. I originally signed up to bannantyne in person in Leicester and they told me there that I ONLY was signing up to a 3 month membership and if I needed to sign up again I would need to come back in or sign up online. So I thought that was fine. I did a couple sessions then I didn’t like it so I didn’t go thinking once three months is over it will cancel. a few months went by and then i saw payments still leaving my account m. I cancelled that payment from my bank account quickly and then contacted bannantyne by email. Which they then took ages to reply and told my my email did not go to the correct team and I told them I picked the right email options. She then called me saying if I wanted to cancel to clear £40 and the contract would be over. I said no I was told that it would cancel in three months so I shouldn’t have to cancel it. She said ok I’ll tell the right team and they will get back to me. Some time passed and I got another call from them in the club and she said that I’m wrong and threatened me saying if I don’t pay it will go to debt collection. Not one person wants to hear me out at all. Is £40 that much to you that you cause me stress and issues. Disgusting from you. And I will completely take this further. And everyone I know that goes to your club will cancel. Disgusting from you
Fantastic experience: The staff at Bannatynes Leicester make the place really good and deserve credit. over the last couple of months I’ve really enjoyed myself at this gym and long it may continue. Best gym in Leicester !
Negative experience: I received a voucher for this spa and decided to bring a friend along for what we hoped would be a relaxing day. However, our experience was utterly appalling. The facilities were in an abysmal state, appearing as though they hadn't seen a cleaning crew in decades. Lockers were dysfunctional, towels were conspicuously absent, and the pervasive mold was nauseating. Upon entering the pool area, we were greeted not by serenity, but by a group of leering men, making us feel incredibly uncomfortable. The atmosphere was anything but welcoming, prompting us to make a hasty exit. To exacerbate matters, the staff at the front desk were utterly inept and shockingly rude, adding insult to injury. The only silver lining in this dismal experience was the massage therapist, whose skill was a brief respite from the overall calamity. Duncan Bannatyne Should be embarrassed for having any association with this horrendous facility.
Negative experience: Bloody disgrace!! Staff totally disinterested, just like going to a normal gym!! Robbing people for spa description and it offered us zero, no introduction No towels no anything special, in the end we left, asked to speak with manager, staff member said not in, after we complained she said oh I'll get the duty manager. Place is old, shabby, dirty and Bannatyne is getting away with robbing you all! Do not use this place!!!!
Negative experience: Tbh I only experienced the spa section of this facility, so I can't offer a review of the gym equipment, which may well be amazing. Downstairs in the spa area, it feels forgotten and unloved. There is paint flaking from the ceiling and dust and dirt covering the ducting and windowsills. The pool is an appropriate temperature, but as swimming along a disposable razor was floating on the surface, which, as I didn't see it hit me in the face. Not exactly a pleasant experience! There are 2 saunas, which to me felt under temperature and therefore not really effective. The steam room felt hot and was acceptably clean. There are also 2 spa/Jacuzzis, which to me gave the impression that instead of being regularly emptied, cleaned and refilled were just topped up with additional chemicals. The water was murky, and the chemicals were so strong it hurt my eyes. For the monthly amount charged and the rigid 12 month contract, I feel this area should be tip top and sadly feels like an afterthought. As a guest of an existing member, I think the staff missed an opportunity to sell me on a membership by offering a comprehensive tour of the facilities. On the way in the reception staff were polite and efficient, but overall, i was left wanting more. I wouldn't be happy to pay the membership to join this location as there are much better services offered by the many other gyms in the area. Not good. Please try harder.
Fantastic experience: Bannatyne is an affordable Health club and spa boosting a well equipped gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna room, Spa and studio rooms for different types of specialized exercises. At £35 per month membership fee, welcome to one of Leicester's finest health institution
Negative experience: Rejoined recently, everything is fine, but it's overpriced considering how run down it is... Always something broken (shower/sauna/jacuzzi) with seemingly minimal effort made to fix things in a timely manner. My main gripe though, is the lack of care for the fact that there are regularly kids (or young adults, whatever, they act like kids) messing around in the pool and getting in the way of people trying to swim. This is particularly prominent between 5-7pm where the same group of teens have been messing around numerous times in the last few weeks. I can understand not having a lifeguard on permanent duty, but is somebody not able monitor CCTV and come and have a word when people are obviously taking liberties? Disappointing, I'll continue to come out of convenience (I live nearby and don't drive) but have actively recommended that friends do not join if they have over options.
Negative experience: Where do I start. The location of the premises is set in the middle of a literal hell hole. It looks so run down and uninviting, to the point I didn’t even want to go inside, I just wanted to turn around and go home. My partner convinced me to go in on the hopes it would be nicer on the inside. He was partially correct. We booked a spa day with several massages. Upon arrival we were told that they don’t supply towels/robes etc without payment which was disappointing. We paid and headed off to the changing rooms which were so dingy and uninviting. Cubicles were tiny and half of the lockers didn’t work. I had to swap my wristband 3 times to get one that worked which subsequently ate into our massage time. We were told they couldn’t fulfil the full appointment as they were back to back even though it was their fault we were late. In fairness, the massages were good, and my partners masseuse was exceptional. I didn’t quite have the same experience but still nice. Moving on to the pool/saunas etc, they were so run down and dingy. No natural light so very dark and uninviting. Pool seems to be only for swimming lengths and not leisure. Jacuzzis were full most of the time, same with the saunas. Had a very irritating group of young lads messing around in the pool, shouting and generally being obnoxious. Not quite the relaxing spa day we had hoped for. As there was no staff manning the pool area, they were allowed to be a nuisance. All in all, would not return. The location alone is enough to put you off. Also the NCP car park is a complete rip off. £20 for 4 hours!
Negative experience: In no case do not sign a contract with these fraudsters!!! After signing, you fall into slavery where you do not decide anything as a client, you will never go to a meeting if you want to terminate the contract with advance notice!!! The toilets are always broken and clogged! In the shower it is dirty and moldy, there is no place to put shower gel, the sinks are always dirty!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HALL!!! The attitude towards the client is at a low level!!! That is probably why they have a low rating! Be careful and do sports, but not in this halls!!!!
Positive experience: Good gym with good choice of equipment. Unfortunately, no management of equipment or users as there is no encouragement to return weights after use. Whilst there are staff manning the front desk, very rarely are there staff members active in gym itself, no visible cleaning of area or equipment
Negative experience: Spa is disgusting. Steam room is packed to the brim including the 2 jacuzzis. Steam room silicone has mould all around the bottom of the floor. Saunas are not hot at all and pool is too small. Place needs a deep clean and revamp with all the money that they get from these expensive spa days and memberships that people pay for! Only good side to this place is that the treatments were fantastic and the girls are all friendly and chatty. Definitely disappointed and wouldn’t recommend anyone to go if they are expecting a nice spa day better off going to belfry or Clifford spa
Negative experience: City centre location so parking is problematic and space is an issue. We went for a 'spa day' and were very disappointed as despite not being busy it felt very overcrowded. One of the jacuzzis were broken so the remaining one felt very 'intimate' as did the steam room and sauna. The pool is tiny and the whole place looks tatty and in need of refurbishing. Was not the chilled day of luxury we had planned. The video on the website showed some type of cafe/eating area but there was just a fridge with drinks, a poor quality coffee machine and a few energy type snacks. We did not fancy trekking across the city to find somewhere to eat as part of our 'spa package'. The only positives were that the reception staff were polite and helpful and the lady who did the treatments was very good and professional. Unfortunately that would not be enough to make me return as there are other places that offer better spa packages in the local area.
Positive experience: So far not the greatest experience so will talk through bad points first: Staff was friendly enaugh to tell me what direction is mens changing room and what direction is gym, but thats about it, rest is for yourself! Facilities in all are clean, however there was plenty of rubbish in locker room and mold on shower ceiling, sure that Mr. Bannatyne would not be happy about this. One of two hot tubs has been order for long time according to other members. Water fauntain in gym has a missing water release button. Their selling point, hi-tech entrance wristband machine is not working for some time making it difficult to access gym and having to use temporary locker wristband each time you attend. Entrance (automatic doors) dont work and you stand like "idiot" while everyone going past are looking at you. Parking is at NPC and its free (3hrs) if you validate ticket on exit from gym. Parking itself is tiny and if you have big car, better choose different gym or pay for parking at alternative location. Now good stuff: Well equipped gym with hi tech equipment. Negative experience: The worst Health Club in Lester. Discrimination based on ethnicity, disrespectful frond desk staff (maybe except 1guy). I ve been accused of having bad behaviour and that I vaped on their premises (never vaped in my life) and shown the exit door of the club. They apologised and reconsidered the situation. However, not worth going back. Customer Service is just terrible. Parking option is as bad, unexplainable long queues. -1 star rating for 2 month experience that ended with an headache right before Christmas 2023.
Positive experience: We visited this morning on a Travelzoo voucher for massage treatment for my wife and I. The receptionist was helpful and courteous and as we were having the same treatment, we shared a room and the two masseurs. The three massages to our backs, face and feet were expertly applied by two lovely individuals.
Fantastic experience: Took my mum with a buy a gift voucher and had a great experience. We had three treatments for two deal and the two ladies in the spa were wonderful. The lady receptionist was also very welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend!
Negative experience: Do not sign a contract with them because it is very difficult to break it. They lie that the contract can be terminated without reason. I definitely do not recommend it

Fantastic experience: Have been a few times but I went the other day twice in one weekend as I suddenly had some time on my hands. I don't remember the name of the lady who treated Me (apologies) but she was extremely polite and accommodating. Went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed and got the best from the treatments.
Negative experience: ***READ*** Myself and my friend visited today for a 'spa day' this is used very loosely and not what we got. We arrived and planned to spend the day here and have a girly day and catch up. We paid the £8 for a robe, towel and flip-flops and head to the changing rooms. Once changed we headed to the pool which was ok but looked very dated and tatty. The steam room is small and hottub overcrowded with gym goers. After chilling and chatting for a while we decided we were hungry so went in the hunt for a place to get some food and drink. Well we were disappointed to find that there was no cafe and nowhere to get a drink other than a coffee machine that only does coffee and not tea. We were advised we would have to leave the premises in our robes and go to a local cafe!! As it was raining heavy and we didn't want to walk around in the city in our robes we decided to order some food to the reception area. Once we had eaten we had our treatments. The 2 girls that did these were wonderful and the treatments were great, thank you girls! We actually then decided to leave as we had enough. The whole place needs an upgrade and refurb as its very tired and tatty I wouldn't class what we had as a spa day! We basically payed a high price to go to a gym for the day! I certainly wouldn't return or recommended this to a anyone.
Positive experience: Very nice staff, very clean gym has many different machines some that u can use to track your progress weekly. occasionally has £33 per month for a 3 month contract so that's very good value for money
Fantastic experience: Just wanted to say myself and a friend had a lovely morning here. I was slightly worried after some of the reviews I read but it was great. The staff were so friendly as were the members that we chatted with. The facilities were all working and amazing - gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and saunas. We had three treatments and they were wonderful. We took our own gowns, flip flops and towels so didn’t have to hire anything. We parked at the NCP car park just around the corner and staff validated our parking ticket so parked for 3 hours free. We did go over that but only as we were having a good time but then only by an hour at £4.95. Wonderful experience. Really pleased.
Negative experience: Very poor management - steam room has broken since more than two weeks and they are unable to fix it. Seems like they are deliberately delaying to save costs. Many other things are not working for example swim suite dryer often breaks down they don’t replace it. May showers are not working sometimes . Membership costs is very high compare to the facilities.
Negative experience: Spent over a years worth of membership, unable to use the facilities due to broken ankle and pending brain tumour surgery. Absolutely no recourse whatsoever. Very disappointed with the customer service, no attempt to retain customers with any goodwill gestures or anything. Would rate less than a star if I could.
Positive experience: Great value for facilities and spa treatments for what we paid. Spa treatment staff were super friendly. Would return again.
Negative experience: I had booked a spa experience which only coat £40 but it was supposed to be a 25 minute treatment and it didn't last that long. I was still not in the room at 1.48 and I was in my car(8 flights up the carport at 27 minutes past meaning my treatment could not have been required time. I also had to ask for the other my other items that came as part of package Poor experience.
Fantastic experience: Myself and my partner had a great time here! We came on a spa day and no issues at all. Pool/jacuzzi clean, steam room & sauna nice and hot and the staff are lovely. Only thing I would say is the NCP car park is expensive but there's another one close by much cheaper. Also bring your own towels/flipflops as they charge £6 to rent these (and a £10 deposit too).
Negative experience: Facilities are very basic and need updating. Elemis treatment was lovely but wasnt blown away by waiting area or the old style rooms. Lights were left on throughout the facial so wasnt easy to rest. Therapist was very good. Had to pay £18 for parking. This should have been validating when visiting a spa! It just feels like a gym. Not a spa.
Negative experience: DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GYM TO ANYBODY. Horrific management, clueless staff dont know what they are doing, filthy dirty studios and used hand tissues thrown on the floor everywhere in the gym and changing rooms because there are no bins strangely. Unhappy unwelcoming staff make you feel uneasy, everything in scarce supply or under lock and key. Car park has only one lift and half the spaces are out of use. Nobody is friendly. It is soulless, dirty and cheap. Loads of other cheaper gyms around the corner. Save yourself a waste of time and give this one a miss.
Negative experience: I trained there a few year ago and it needed updating then, about 9yr ago, some of the staff including a so-called fitness instructor were miserable, bordering mad, the air conditioning filter was being changed while I was running, and within an hour I became really ill with peculiar coloured poison coming out of my nose and throat, 2 weeks to recover, I told the incompetent manager and he replied it wasn't possible as he ⁵used to be a Doctor, yeah and my names Errol Flynn
Fantastic experience: Very outdated old building but excellent customer service spa area was clean, professional and friendly staff, treatments were relaxing and enjoyable (had a spa day with 2 treatments with partner)
Negative experience: This is by far the worst spa experience of my life. I would recommend you don't come here, if it's a relaxing spa you are after. The pool and jacuzzi area is filthy and run down. I can't imagine how many germs and viruses are festering between the tiles.
Fantastic experience: Changing rooms are well looked after, swimming area very clean with access to jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, free parking for 3 hours and located on top on of the club, would definitely recommend!
Negative experience: Booked a spa day at there leicester branch . Staff absolutely lovely and helpful n thats the reason for the 1star ....... wouldn't use these again jacuzzi was dirty the floors around it and around the other swimming facilities where dirty . Not cheap ...... think the actual owner should read these reviews as its not just the leicester branch neither

Positive experience: Facilities need a face-lift/refurb. Adjacent carpark is a nightmare, beware - although you do get 3 hours free parking. Not sure why there's an £8 robe/towel charge when they're washed and are not single-use? Seems like a coy way to make extra money. Treatment however was great! Very friendly staff and a top-quality massage.
Fantastic experience: First visit today and was very impressed with what we saw we had booked a spa day with back and neck massage and facial. My back and neck have never felt better the therapist was very experienced pleasant and would definitely recommend this place
Negative experience: Nobody available to answer the phone on reception after several days of calling. I got through to a gentleman who promised a call back to reschedule my treatments because of health issues, nobody called me back. Now it’s too late to rebook as I am not within the 48 hour cancellation window. Manager had a rude tone. I would really avoid to save disappointment and your money.

Negative experience: Booked a early morning slot. Hired towels a robe, frayed and had holes in. No robe or towels to fit large person 6"5 size 12 shoe. Only one jacuzzi in working use. Changing/washing facilities dirty and not maintained. Staff on reception not professional. Massage was lovely and staff was great! Literally couldn't wait to leave, in and out within 2 hours. Good job we had each others company.
Positive experience: Friendly staff, clean, well equipped, has a pool/sauna and steam room ( which I haven’t used) and great classes. I have been here for 4 months and have enjoyed it as well as improve my body greatly. I did take a PT from their staff who is amazing (leanne) and have seen their other trainers look great as well such as Lisa. Overall, really enjoying it and would recommend
Fantastic experience: This place seems to be running alot better. The steam room and saunas are hot and a shower control knob has been fixed. This went missing immediately after the shower installation and the previous manager couldn't be bothered to even follow up the warranty. Pretty good.
Positive experience: Good gym, not too busy most of the time and loads of parking. On the upper price band of memberships and several areas alway seem to be in a state of disrepair or undergoing maintenance.
Negative experience: Went for so called pamper day with massage. The whole place is tired & scruffy. Reception staff lovely. I had a massage that left me bruised & sore for a week. Most uncomfortable massage I have ever had. My Daughter in Law also had one at the same time. She is in a worse state than me. 2 weeks later she cannot move her neck and is in a lot of pain. Would not go back if you paid me. Dreadful place.
Positive experience: The building is in need of maintenance and cleaning. The poolside had missing grates covered by wet floor signs, chunks missing from the floor and walls. The pool itself had a fair bit of silt/sand in piles on the bottom. The shower I used had a handle missing to turn it on. The costume dryer was absolutely filthy inside. The coffee machine area was dirty and there was a cupboard door hanging off. The customer service by the staff was great though. The treatments we had were back massage, facial and scalp massage and couldn't fault anything about this or the surroundings. Amazing service provided there. It's just not the standards I expected from a Bannatyne premises.
Positive experience: The swimming pool and jacuzzi areas could do with an update, quite outdated and broken areas covered with wet floor signs. The whole place could do with a really good clean. Would be nice if there were facilities for food as if you're spending all day there the only options are porridge or protein bars. The treatment part of the day was absolutely fantastic, the room was clean and the lady that massaged me was lovely. The scalp massage was amazing. Would definitely come back for a treatment but maybe not to use the other facilities.
