Negative experience: This gym is very dirty and not hygiene in their the people go to toilet and their is no soup on the toilet after people use the equipment and is just not OK. Their is nothing good about this gym

Positive experience: I use this gym normally early mornings and it's good enough. All the equipment you need. I am a little miffed that PG have decided to block off a whole section so that women are separated to work out. I'm not sure I saw any harassment before the change, it also makes me wonder why women fought so hard for equal rights and now we are regressing. Are the men in Leicester so crazed at the sight of a female working out that they have to be protected? Or is this another act of virtue signalling in an attempt to highlight the inherent toxic masculinity. Either way it is very sad as the previous layout worked very well.
Positive experience: Good kit and equipment is the only redeeming factor here. I like PureGyms layouts and modern look/feel too of course. Free parking too in the busy town centre is very much appreciated but still the membership is a little overpriced. Now .. There's a very bad atmosphere in there, I've got to be honest - many people I know have said the same as me about this gym. I mean, they even had to put a sign up urging members not to continue harassing female users. It gets very overcrowded. To be honest the gym team have provided a great experience (A few improvements could be made as always) but it's MASSIVELY let down by the clientele who are very inconsiderate to other users to say the least. Listen gym team, you need to get monitoring those CCTV cameras and handing out suspensions to users - Young or Old - who fail to re-rack their weights. That's where we need to start in our quest to start teaching people an acceptable level of etiquette.

However we know that at busier times, weights are not always returned and our team complete regular re-sets of the gym. We understand that this is sometimes frustrating for our members, and it is included within our Gym Rules that members should return weights after use. Anybody witnessed leaving equipment out of place will be spoken to by our Gym Team. Positive experience: Good size and good facilities, unfortunately the people who use this gym have no respect for it. Having used multiple pure gyms across the country, this is one of the worst I've seen regarding returning weights, litter, state of the toilets/showers.

Negative experience: Over subscribed , bizarre atmosphere bordering on aggressive, staff who don't really seem to do much, poor layout compared to other pure gyms around the UK. I only go to this one due to work but if I lived in the area....I'd run a mile! Awful place.

Fantastic experience: This gym used to be very dirty, disorganised, broken machines, old machines and weights thrown around everyone. And now I see that the manger and staffs actullay care about the gym and taken a lot of very good care of it. The there is a lot improvements. The manger and staffs actually cares about the gym and take very big action to keep the gym clean and organised. Big props to the manger and staffs.

Negative experience: Worst gym ever!! I took my wife to this gym and theres hardly machines so i asked the customer service lady why the men have more advanced work out machines compared to women. How rude of a lady she told me to stop focusing on my little egg muscle. Im trying i really am but yeah she called me egg muscle

Positive experience: I appreciate the womens section of the gym, most things you could need. It's really annoying however that some instructors don't show up for classes. No heads up given either. The parking can be tricky depending on timings but overall for the price, the gym does what you would expect.

Negative experience: If you’re a girl and want a female only space, don’t bother with this gym. The male manager comes into the female section which defeats the whole purpose of having a female section. A manager shouldn’t be allowed to operate as he pleases. There should be separate spaces for a reason and not just to cater to some people who might not mind the presence of a man. There are also cameras that stay on in the female section.

Positive experience: There is noone present at reception desk when you need it in staff hours

Negative experience: Not a good gym. The only good thing is cheap. But what for paying cheap but you can’t do anything. The equipment is always lost. And the gym is so PACK because it’s cheap. It’s better to pay extra 3 pounds per month and join other gym but u don’t have to end up waiting just to use the equipment. The lightning is also bad. Low quality lighting and you won’t have any motivation to do. Also always smelly Wouldn’t suggest this gym.

Negative experience: Just a student here from outside of Leicester. The only good things about this gym is that it's near to my place and my friends goes here, the PTs are good people but that's pretty much it. Certain dumbbells sometimes goes missing. What's the point of the renovation/refurbishing of this gym? They did all that, yet almost everything in the main area is broken. It's been almost 3 months and the hack squat has yet to be fixed, for example. Sometimes the cable equipments go missing. Speaking of cable machines, at least one of them is broken every week. The gym that I go to back home, that is super old, with old equipments, they are all still in good and working condition. If it wasn't for this gym being the only gym that my friend goes to, I'd honestly move to a different one. Unless they actually fix their broken machines, I advice to most of you who are looking for a gym to not go here as there are lots of other gym you can go to that aren't broken. Fantastic experience: Loving the new women’s only section, I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to see women being taken seriously in the gym, being given our own equipment and a nice decent space. I am so psyched to see more women pick up that barbell and realise their potential, it’s life changing! The space and equipment are varied and can accommodate many different types of training. I wish that women’s only sections existed years ago when I was brand new to the gym and feeling intimidated and out of place, especially as a smaller woman. Lifting has transformed my mental and physical health, and I’d hate any woman to miss out on that due to not feeling safe or comfortable in a mixed space. I do sympathise with the negative review, the gym can certainly be an intimidating place for men too. However women have long been pushed out of the heavy weights section. If you look at how health and fitness are marketed to men and women differently, you can see that we still have a long way to go in achieving true equity. Glad that Pure Gym have taken real steps to address this. If you’re a woman unsure about starting or coming back to the gym, Pure Gym offers a welcoming, calm and judgement free women only space. Come in and try it out, you won’t regret it!

Negative experience: The majority of the staff there are wonderful, unfortunately that’s where the compliments end. Their updated gym includes a “women’s only” training area, where they have removed some of the duplicates of the machines, an example of this is the leg extension machine that they put in the women’s only area is more comfortable to use as the pad for the legs is more cushioned, the one in the area that is accessible only to men digs into your legs when you go at a heavier weight. Zero consideration for the men who don’t have access to that area, and for the purpose of balance there should be a men’s only workout area, does Pure Gym think that only women feel uncomfortable training besides the opposite sex? Their policy of equality and inclusion is great, it’s just a shame that means more equality and inclusion for women at the expense of men, even when the majority of members constitute men. There’s better places to go, just find them.

Negative experience: Imagine a gym without dumbbells and people more than this gym could accommodate . Here it is. I Never recommend this gym for beginners or intermediates. Even after going for the morning session, couldn’t find any place to workout.

Positive experience: Always crowded and smelly, lighting is awful and depressing. The lift is always broken and the stairs from the carpark to the main road are always locked!!! Have to resort to walking up the ramp which is dangerous. There are works being carried out these days and I am hoping the end result is better. I can never find the weights I need because despicable losers are lazy and never put their weights back. Poor standard.

Negative experience: I am here in Leicester visiting family and decided to go PureGym Leicester (St George's Way), and my experience was awful 1. Equipment: they were lying around everywhere. I understand this is also a responsibility for every individual using the gym. But the staff also need to ensure all the equipment is stored correctly and not causing any health and safety issues. 2. Lockers: The majority of the lockers in the male changing area are damaged or stuck. Wonder if it's the same in the female changing area, too. 3. Area: The area of the gym felt very condensed and suffocating even though not many people were using the gym during the time I went. They need to reconsider the layout of the equipment stored currently. Overall, this was the worst experience I have faced in the gym. I wonder if this is what I will be seeing everyday. As I am planning to relocate to Leicester.

Negative experience: This gym is horrendous. I once seen someone sneak in which just goes to show the lack of security I should be able to go into a gym and feel safe. The benches are without fail covered in sweat so you can't even put you head on it. I would recommend to my worst enemy ❗️

Negative experience: I'm absolutely fuming my 17 year old sons £250 coat was stolen from this gym what's it coming to when people steal from kids and to top it off its snowing he now has to come home with no coat in this weather the gym are fobbing him off about checking cctv footage I'm not happy at all

Positive experience: Having been a member for a while now it is what it is, good for me and other people who like to workout at 5am before work. The only gripe I have is the free weight section can be a bit “locals only” I know this isn’t pure gyms fault and doesn’t bother me, but could be intimidating to newcomers and people there could really do with re racking weights as it does get annoying having to tidy up a space to work out. Otherwise its your standard pure gym experience

Negative experience: I have never ever left a bad review about any place I have been to even if I had bad experience. But I have been going to pure gym from day 1 since they opened and witnessing how the gym is ran right now is just ridiculous. Water fountain broke for days and hope to not reach weeks so we have to use the machine instead luckily my membership includes the usage of the water machine but even the water machine broke down so you can only fill up water from toilet and I don’t think this is acceptable and I even seen people leaving the gym immediately as soon as they relasied there’s nowhere you can get water from. I only mentioned this because this is something very serious and I didn’t even want to mention machine could break for weeks and months and never get fixed and let’s not mention the lift because we got used to it being broken for months. I’m very upset the fact that I have been a very old customer from day 1 and witnessing this happening. We can bare and understand some things like the machines and lift but with the water is in unacceptable as there’s no excuse I’m sure you can get a plumber within a day or 2

Negative experience: The machines stink. people sneak in every time and the manager doesn't kick them out. The showers smell very bad the water is brown and you can see people showering. The dumbbells smell like sweat. People leave bags and jackets on the floor. I saw three 17 year old boys sneak in last week and the security is awful. How did these kids manage to get in without getting caught. This is horrendous.

Negative experience: I'm going to be as fair as I can and honest after two weeks going to this gym: Bad: I've been in 4 pure gyms and this is the worst. The reviews were absolutely right about the maintenance of the equipment, which is concerning due health risks!! as people keep using them. This is concerning and not just the fact that you can't train properly and comfortable. It seems that *they are waiting for someone to get injured* to actually do something about it, instead of at least leaving a "not in use" sign. There's lack of ventilation, you can smell the sweat in the peak hours. Too many people in peal hours. It seems that the virus we faced recently was a joke to them. Not to mention that it's unpleasant to train when there's a queue of people behind Good: That said it's a decent gym. There's enough machines to use, if you come other than the peak hours ofc. it's 24h Environment is okay, I didn't feel bad or anything. Is cheap. But it's not worth the price due their lack of action to solve the maintenance or show any interest on it. My suggestion is that if you can afford to pay some extra pounds and you really care about your space and safety, join other gyms that do care about maintenance and are not overcrowded in the peak hours.

Negative experience: This gym has gone right down , groups of young lads hogging machines leaving dumbbells' lying around on floor they have no respect for anyone else staff are powerless because they use the race card if confronted. And the smell of sweat is disgusting don't these people wash or use deodorant.

Negative experience: lockers are bad their broken an people go try find lockers for their stuff an take yours out equipments nice but the atmosphere is terrible !! Positive experience: Nice large gym on one level with a lot of equipment. The ladies lockers had a lot of padlocks on them every time I went even though there weren't many ladies in the gym - this perhaps needs a sort out! I enjoyed the morning Zumba classes with Teresa - it's not often you can do morning Zumba! Tannesha's LBT was hard but very good. A morning Pump class would be appreciated if possible. The class area feels very exposed, with the entrance in the centre of the space with no door. They did put the posters up when I asked but it's still a bit open which can feel intimidating.

Negative experience: Probably the worst gym I've been to the only upside is its cheap. You can never find the weights you need and people occupy multiple weights and machines at the same time. It's always busy as well.
Negative experience: One of the messiest gyms I have ever used. The dumbbells and weight plates everywhere are a joke. I can’t believe members are allowed to treat a gym like this and it is accepted. People should be cautioned for not returning equipment to the right place, makes it very difficult to work out when you’re constantly looking for everything all over the place. Shame on PureGym for letting this go on. Only reason I still go here is because it’s 24 hours otherwise I would not step foot inside

Negative experience: Equipment hardly ever available to use, and was challenged for wearing jeans during a workout. I can imagine the 'owner' wouldn't approach the large groups of lads who congregate in the free weights area leaving weights all over the floor and texting, so other people can't use the equipment. Also this happened the day after I helped to put some weights back on the racks, that I wasn't using, I suppose no good deed goes unpunished. As a shift worker who works 6 days a week, for unsociable hours, I thought I deserved a bit more respect than that. I could go on about the body-trax scanner that was defunct, the bottles all over the floor, but that would be petty. Fortunately with age I have calmed down, because my response (walking out) wouldn't have been quite so calm a few years ago. Couldn't care less about the martial skills of the manager either-they are a jobsworth, plain and simple. Luckily with age I have learnt to sleep on things, and think them through. I will not be using the establishment again. A better way of approaching would have been to say 'Please no jeans next time, it's not our policy.'

Negative experience: Litteraly the worst gym i've never been. Nobody put their weight away, nobody clean the machine (that's disgusting btw), too many people and not enough equipements (you systematicly have to wait for a bench or even a bar), their is a huge hole in a wall of men's locker room like if some dudes have been fighting there, it's cold (air conditioning is too strong), i've seen a member of the cleaner staff texting in the toilett instead of doing his job, peoples look unfriendly ... well, i've been training here for a weak and i do not recommend this place.

We always aim to provide a broad spread of kit to cater to a range of fitness needs and meet demand as it changes through the day, getting the balance right between weights and cardio, but if you have any other/specific suggestions please approach the Gym Manager or leave a note in the feedback box, which is regularly reviewed. Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Negative experience: This gym is awful! It's constantly busy with not enough equipment for the amount of people using it. It puts me off going to the gym. No one puts equipment away and weights are left all over the floor. My workout is constantly interrupted with people asking how many sets I have left or taking equipment I've set up next to me for supersets.

Negative experience: Regular gym, it is ok. The AC constantly blowing cold air on you is a little bit annoying though. There is also a lot of treadmills that nobody uses. Barbells on the other hand are nonstop occupied. One star mainly because there is no option to cancel membership.

Negative experience: Average gym... basic equipment with many pieces out of order or needing some tlc. Not the cleanest or kept stocked with cleaning supplies. For the size of the gym they could get more cable machines considering how busy it is. Also they like to put all the equipment close to each other - far better use of space could be achieved.
