Services, Machines and Guided Classes
PureGym London Kingston: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Get yourself to puregym kingston! Great equipment, Staff are super friendly, I’ve heard they’ve got the best PTs
Fantastic experience: Love Puregym Best gym ever
Fantastic experience: Amazing gym, lovely staff Great management team
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Pure Gym. The facility is clean, well-equipped, and has a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful especially Seymore Wilson. The equipment is top-notch, and there’s plenty of space to train without feeling overcrowded, highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality.
Negative experience: This is the worst gym i've ever been. Small changing room, not enough lockers, to put your clothes, not enough hangers-on. Machines always busy by more than 2 or 3 people, and mostly of the time they are on their phones. The personel should do something about it and put a rule. To everyone that wants to join, DON'T, better pay 5£ extra to some other gym than stay without training.
Fantastic experience: Great gym very clean! Friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: Great team and a shout out to Seymore (personal trainer ) who is always encouraging/supporting me to achieve my body fit goals. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming at Kingston Pure Gym
Fantastic experience: Great club amazing equipment and the managers Nadia and Seymore are amazing they make the experience amazing
Positive experience: Haven't had much issue, the only problem is sometimes they put the heating on and today I nearly fainted!.... Heating in a gym?? Whoever asked for the heating to be turned on should get off their phone and start training! If you prefer to be on your phone stay at home please, a gym is for training not sticking put on a phone. A gym should feel cold, you will naturally heat up if you train well. If it's the staff who asked for it to be turned on... Just train as well we don't mind! Please don't turn the heating on!
Fantastic experience: Great gym recommended
Fantastic experience: Great space, plenty of equipment and good quality. Busy but able to use all the equipment I need for a workout.
Positive experience: It's a basic gym, with all of the machines, free weights and functional training space you would need. It offers 2 hours free parking ,has quite a lot of weightlifting racks and offers very good value. Negatives: The changing rooms are small and need more changing benches and lockers.
Negative experience: Life at this rendition of Puregym was pretty disappointing and I’ve since cancelled my membership. Other Puregyms have been pretty good but this one was very poor. The venue itself isn’t really suited to be a gym having previously been an Argos and not purpose built. It was either way too hot at the best of times or got quite cold in the winter. There was also not enough kit to meet demand and there was plenty of dead space including a rarely used studio, which could have been used to better effect. It was often pretty dirty too and the toilets were pretty grim. The locker capacity was also lacking leaving people wasting loads of time when arriving just trying to find a locker. I wouldn’t have dared tried the showers! This was all compounded by the entry gates being ineffective with numerous youths double or triple gating with one of their mates. Essentially the gym was full of people who hadn’t paid meaning those who had didn’t have as much kit to use. The staff had no interest in resolving this issue after reporting it and something would get done it didn’t. There’s number of staff available has also reduced since opening and it can be seen in the cleanliness and non paying customers issue. There’s a big need for a good gym in Kingston but this isn’t the one.
Negative experience: avoid at all costs, thank me later. gym full of kids pretending to be Mister Olimpia, occupying the equipment, stations and machines while talking to each other. the ugliest and most horrendous thing is when there are spinning classes. microphone with low quality and very loud sound disturbs the members' training. even with your headphones on full blast you can't hear your music and concentrate. the gym must be a place where you release stress and want to focus on your goals. well here the stress and anger increases. to avoid
Negative experience: The gym space itself is fairly good. 3/5. The male changing room however: GROSSLY INADEQUATE. No more than 25 lockers. All full. Every time. Vast amounts of completely wasted space. Just 3 benches, each only about 4ft long. No space at all to change. No space to safely store a bag. Even with the few extra lockers on the gym floor there isn't enough. Seriously, re design the male changing room. Utter waste of space!
Fantastic experience: Great value gym.
Negative experience: too busy
Fantastic experience: I recently joined Pure Gym, and I couldn't be happier with my experience! The facilities are top-notch, featuring a wide variety of equipment that is always clean and well-maintained. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to assist with any questions or provide guidance on workouts. The classes offered are diverse and cater to all fitness levels, making it easy to find something that fits my routine. The atmosphere is motivating and inclusive, which makes working out enjoyable. I highly recommend Pure Gym to anyone looking to improve their fitness in a welcoming environment!
Positive experience: Accessible, clean And perfect for the location
Negative experience: This gym looks clean enough but does not provide clean as you go stuff for members to use - every gym should provide cleaning spray and tissue for members to use after they have finished sweating all over a bench or machine seat
Positive experience: Quite small. But lots of new equipment which is good. Free parking. Place is clean. Had the worst music of any gym I’ve been in.
Positive experience: Large area and loads of equipment to use or rooms to practice. This placed opened early Jan 2024, but it seems cleaning is not up to standard, especially maleWC and changing room is not so clean and sink is not functioning very wel as most of time is leaking. The Gym and practice area is dusty too. You bearley see cleaners in this place.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Pure Gym for just over a month. Kingston isn't my Home gym but I use it whenever I stay with family in the area. I tend to go around 7/8am and it's usually quiet. The gym is smaller than others but it has adequate equipment and they've definitely utilised the space well. I took my first group class today (Body pump) and I was very nervous at first but I explained to the Instructor, Nadia it was my first class and she really made me feel at ease. Throughout the class she gave me encouragement and support and none of the regular members made me feel awkward or uncomfortable. Overall I always have positive experience at this gym and I can't thank Nadia enough for today.
Positive experience: Good machines but a sanitary station is necessary
Negative experience: This gym is missing cleaning stations. How I’m going to wipe down the machine I’m using and it’s already wet? This is not safe workout environment at all!
Fantastic experience: Today I am very happy because my headphones that I left on the bar 4 days ago in the gym were found! Thank you very much to Nadya, the personal trainer of this gym, who helped me and knew for sure that they were in place! also thanks to the person who picked them up and returned them to the reception! Thank you team!
Positive experience: needs a women only area, men there sometimes make me uncomfortable. not enough equipment to go around when gym is at full capacity. i understand it’s fairly new and still is ironing out some kinks but services can’t be justified at the price im currently paying.
Negative experience: Went there on a weekday evening. Was very crowded. Was waiting for attendant for almost 20 minutes outside gym, pressed help button many times still no one attended, staff was looking from outside but no one reached out. When the person working there reached us he didn’t greet properly and didn’t even gave us proper gym tour. Was very arrogant.
Fantastic experience: Good location. Great price. Friendly staff great equipment. Good variety of classes. I love it
Fantastic experience: Warm welcome bye staff great little gym . Very packed at peak times
Fantastic experience: Solid low cost gym with great staff and a good amount of benches, weights and machines plus studio areas!
Positive experience: Only done a trial there. Great facilities. Spacious, Friendly team especially Dan that gave us initial tour is very helpful. I have tried LBT and Yoga, what distracted me is Not having a door to Studio. During the Yoga class it was really disturbing listen high beats music from the main weight area while you are trying to relax. Everything is brand new. It gets busy during most times but plenty of equipment to use for all.
Positive experience: This Pure gym branch is good and with friendly staff. Specially would like to mention Nadia and Lucy, I have tried the Body Pump classes and Step classes and are amazing and helping people like me who doesn’t enjoy usually going gym alone do better and learn more exercises as well as staying motivated.
Fantastic experience: Not bad, smaller but kinda better than gym group tbh
Positive experience: Great gym. I just moved in to London. I recommend it as its value is great comparing to the offer. Maybe management couldpay invest in desinfection products and cleanless in toilets and showers. Its not big investment and we all know gyms are favorite places for germs.
Negative experience: One of the most overcrowded gym ever seen. On weekdays there is no place to breath even.
Negative experience: Super crowded and no space in the lockers as well. Most of the space is left for stretching which makes it more congested overall
Fantastic experience: Amazon staff and good environment, forgot my beats headphones at the gym came after two weeks from holiday break i thought I lost it but when I came back to the gym and ask for it they kept it safe for me , very helpful and lovely staff
Positive experience: Only here for the power racks and deadlift platform. Everything else is packed with people and cannot use in peace. At least i got what i wanted. Nice facility btw
Fantastic experience: Love coming to PureGym, the PTs who work there are all amazing! I had the most incredible step class with Chiara - I'm going to go every week because of her and the energy she brings to the classes! Really happy with everything about this gym, such a good environment
Fantastic experience: Gr8 place, PT's Very Friendly and helpfull, good Value.
Positive experience: Recently joined this gym as David Lloyds Kingston shut down it's swimming pool and spa facilities for over six months. I haven't missed David Lloyds a bit as at a quarter of the monthly fee I get same gym equipments and better app with many additional facilities. The membership comes with free car parking which has always been a big problem visiting David Lloyds. The locker, shower facilities are minimal and very basic but does the job. One problem is that the gym fitness classes are always booked week in advance.
Positive experience: Good
Negative experience: I would’ve given 5 but the kid are so unpleasant and disturbing poêle around .. they won’t let people jump in specially at busy time I think they should be age restrictions Changing room for women is to tiny no much lockers or space to hang your coats Staff is great but the under 20 are too much A kid used my barbell pad without asking me when I realised I asked him to give it back he said he’s got one more set but at the meantime was on phone and I was waiting for him to finish. When he’s done he didn’t even say thx you real gym hunter don’t do that! I’m joining back the gym group
Positive experience: Can't complain for the price
Fantastic experience: I started my gym journey this year and was very nervous to begin with as it was very new to me. The gym is very well equipped and offers lots of options for people starting out. Chiara was especially helpful guiding me around and helping me to feel comfortable there when I wasn't too sure what to do or where to start. Fantastic service and would recommend to anyone.
Fantastic experience: Great gym! Well managed and kept clean, would recommend to anyone.
Negative experience: Really enjoying this gym and would give them 5 stars if they would simply adopt a non-nudity policy. Men taking off their shirts and flexing in the mirror in the free-weight section is a common occurrence and literally nobody wants to see that for a whole heap of reasons. One of PureGyms rules is no football shirts allowed... but being topless is completely fine. Changing gym at the end of Feb if this doesn't change.
Negative experience: I am a member The Gym directly opposite..I saw pure gym had set up directly opposite and was curious if it was as good. The price was the same and The Gym opposite is twice the size. I like the window but that seems to mean a lot of people watching you run which wasnt very enjoyable. The rest of pure gym was similar. The gym opposite has just been refurbished with new machines so it seems better value for money being at the bigger gym with less people looking in and less people inside as it's bigger. I was hoping for the new gym to be better but it is a smaller with less stuff.
Positive experience: Facility/equipment seems up to date and staff have been pleasant but my main complaint is that disinfectant supplies aren’t available. This is my first gym in the UK so maybe it’s a culture thing, but I was surprised that members are expected to bring their own sanitising wipes. I have not seen anyone wipe off a machine before/after using it, so before you join, either buy wipes or embrace the sweat swap!
Negative experience: Nice clean gym. Quite spacious on the actual gym floor. The variety of machines are really good and well laid out. The reason for 2* is the female changing rooms are TINY. Although having a cubicle to get changed is a real plus, the number of lockers are very minimum, showers have good pressure but no hook.
Negative experience: If you're over 21 don't come here. Place is like a youth club full of degenerates, but what do you expect for the price? Pay for a proper gym and give this rabble a swerve.
Negative experience: I have scored 2 star for the fallowing reason: In the man showers are always dirty, cold water and you are deprived from options to regulate the temperatures that I needed, it is also that the showers door are not really good as they are blurry but still you can notice lots of things which bridges the dignity and intimacy of the customers. I have to add that for a month they don’t have internet or signal every time I have approached to staff the answer is “ Next Week,,. Sorry team as much I like you all that you guys all are very good but this facts are about the facilities that Puregym has advertised and in reality is not like that. I hope that there will be a learning lessons for the business management.
Negative experience: Spacious gym, a lot of machines to work with. I like the studio hall, very spacious too. My only complain is the shower and toilet facilities need to be looked after, for me cleanliness is a big deal this why I have it a 2 star.
Negative experience: Had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances and wasn't refunded even though I was only two days off the 14-day period and hadn't attended...
Fantastic experience: Thanks Dan Carlos and chiara for finding my AirPods
Negative experience: Good gym but so awkward when trying to workout in the studio and skinny teenage boys take their tops off and start flexing like they're in Mr.Olympia. PureGym needs to ban members who think it's okay to go to the gym topless, it ruins the experience for others. Edited my review from a 2 to a 1 because PureGym haven't acknowledged any of my message about this issue and I just witnessed nudity in the studio... If you want to see male genitalia in a public gym then this is the place for you.
Fantastic experience: Great Gym
Positive experience: Stylish new gym, but too small. It’s practically half the size of GymGroup. Negatives: 1. Small changing rooms with nowhere near enough lockers or benches. 2. Not enough equipment (only one of each machine vs GymGroup’s two). 3. Limited space wasted on empty mat areas and studios. 4. Gets busy very quickly. 5. Could do with more standing space in dumbbell area. 6. Running machines awkwardly face ground floor street window. 7. Hamstring curl machine too big for my girlfriend. 8. Bloated app. Positives: 1. New, clean and tidy. 2. Nice floor and style/colour scheme. 3. Good cool AC. 4. Lots of squat racks. 5. Plate organisation. 6. No entry stairs. 7. Grippy barbells. 8. Music not too loud/obnoxious, except in changing rooms. 9. Easy to contact support. 10. Slightly cheaper than GymGroup and better benefits.
Positive experience: I ended up asking for a refund and going back to the Gym Group across the road. This location has a great offer for entry at £14.99/M but the size of the gym is pretty small in terms of space between weights/machines. They have 2 large mat areas and a studio which takes up quite a lot of room. Meaning the rest of the gym has to compromise. I went there on the first opening night, it was me and about 15 other users. I felt it was already a little crowded around the weight benches, now the more members who sign up and use this location, you're going to have problems. Since then I have asked for a refund and went back to the gym group Kingston as this has a lot more space and waiting for machines isn't much of an issue during peak times. When the promotion offer ends, and the price will be the same as the Gym group, you're better off using that location.
Fantastic experience: I love it! Normally go to much more pricey gyms (David Lloyds in Hampton, Nuffield in Kingston) but I honestly enjoyed working out more in this gym today. Lovely equipment selection, lots of squat racks and benches. Crazy value. Really happy with this addition to Kingston. Just hope it doesn't get too busy.
