Negative experience: The pool was decent. But the changing rooms were absolutely disgusting. The changing rooms had biscuit crumbs all over the floor and the showers had mold all over the shower head. There was also hairballs all over the changing are , I’m sure they never clean the rooms. It smelled like urine.

Fantastic experience: i like swimming hear and splashing around in the water while screaming at the top of my lungs.

Fantastic experience: As always a wonderful aqua class with Louise this morning (aided by Santa’s little helper) - the staff here are marvellous and with an Active Leeds membership this is a incredible value and a great local asset

Negative experience: Not very clean, cold showers and hair dryer not there.

Negative experience: Arrived today with friends & children, the changing rooms were dirty and full of grime, staff were miserable and wouldn’t allow the kids to have fun without complaining to them! compared to Morley, armley & John Charles centre I’m struggling to believe this is a council run centre, the others are not only incredibly clean, the staff are lovely and welcoming and they even decorate and dress up for events such as Halloween etc. very disappointed, needs a lot of help!

Negative experience: That's the worst swimming pool I have ever been to. It's very disappointing. It's old, small, the showers smell like urine, and the lockrooms are not clean. There are also plasters and hairs in the grids at the bottom of the pool... It costs £5.70 for 1 hour, which is very expensive for that kind of service. I do not recommend it.

Positive experience: I recently visited the local swimming leisure centre and had an overall enjoyable experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the visit pleasant from the start. The centre offers a variety of activities suitable for all ages, ensuring that everyone can find something fun to do. The large pool was particularly impressive—spacious and well-maintained, providing ample room for swimming and relaxing. However, I did find the small pool to be a bit disappointing. It was colder than expected and not as clean as it could be, which detracted slightly from the overall experience. Despite this minor setback, the centre's positive aspects far outweighed the negatives. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and friendly place to swim.

Negative experience: Just wasting time for swimming lessons. They’re not care at all.

Positive experience: Typical leisure centre with all the amenities of most , with the exception of the Gymnastics area.

Positive experience: This is a good leisure centre. However, why on a Saturday is the pool not open! Makes no sense and it was very disappointing for the kids.

Negative experience: The tiles were cutting our feet. The changing rooms were dirty full of mud and water.This is the first experience and the last!

Fantastic experience: My son did his 121 lesson here today and thank you to Ruby his coach he really enjoyed every minute and made some excellent progress

Positive experience: As leisure centre go, it is ok. The pool is clean, the water can feel a bit cold when entering but I don't mind that as once I get going I get warm, so wouldn't want the water any warmer. What I don't like about the centre is the the changing rooms. They are in desperate need of a refurb. They have been the same since I was taking my swimming lessons there 30 years go.

Negative experience: The centre is more for a senior or less active residence than younger generation. The classes are not very active, slow pace and boring! Swimming pool dirty and filthy with cold water! Nothing is properly working in changing rooms, showers, safe boxes, hair dryers broken for months if not longer - very unpleasant! Some staff are nice and friendly but there are some quite rude! The membership is cheap but you end up not using it so waste of money!

Negative experience: Went to aqua aerobics, the lady teaching made it more like a pantomime. No instructions just kept changing and doing silly things in-between I've been to a lot lot better. The changing rooms were quite dirty aswel.

Positive experience: Nice place friendly staff changing rooms need an update

Fantastic experience: Squash is great here! Easy to book and has 2 glass backed courts. Easy to get to with parking.

Negative experience: The changing rooms in swimming need renovating, we have been coming weekly for last 5 years fir my daughters swimming with the exception of the Covid years when it was shut and 5 years ago they could have done with a spruce up but now they are becoming dangerous, lose and sharp tiles. Half the lockers don't work. The toilets and showers are very often dirt and unsanitary. The floor is dirty and i have never seen it clean. They renovated the pool during Covid but forgot the changing rooms. The lessons here are fantastic and the staff are great and that's why they have 2 star but the facilities (changing rooms) would be 0 star and that's what knocked done of overall rating.

Fantastic experience:

Positive experience: I like the leisure centres in the area and this is another that offers plenty for the community at a reasonable price. This one is a bit run down the squash courts could do with updating. There’s no gym facilities either.

Positive experience: Old, small pool, but is cosy waiting area with glass wall to watch swimmers during the training sesion, squash, training chambers big and small.

Positive experience: We use the centre for swimming with our little one who's over 1 she loves the pool but the lack of baby toys in the pool and famliy changing rooms do let it down

Positive experience: Parking is limited but its a clean and friendly centre

Negative experience: Booked a session for badminton, arrived with someone on our court which just kept playing past the clock and would not leave. Had to queue and get a member of staff, rather than asking them to leave they set another court up for us, by the time it’s all set up that’s 20mins into our booking time. Got told to leave 40mins later and didn’t get any time back. Where’s the fairness!? Felt discriminated.

Positive experience: The girls enjoyed their swim but there's no viewing area. Could really do with a refurbish, getting a bit tired looking.

Positive experience: Pleasant and helpful staff and adequate facilities. A good place to keep fit in.

Negative experience: Was really looking forward to taking my little boy swimming for the first time. We were a little early and were abruptly told to wait 10 more minutes until we could pay for the family swim. Staff are rude when they actually speak, most of them silent like they can't be arsed to be there. We used the smaller pool as we were informed it was nice and warm for babies and children. It was freezing. Very tatty facilities Very, dirty changing rooms, very dated also. Really disappointed, will not visit again.

Negative experience: This place is a joke. Typical council run establishment. You turn up one day and the kids pool is freezing cold. Turn up the next week and its cash only. Turn up another week and they take 30mins to deal with one customer because their systems are so slow which means you only get 30 minutes in their 60 minute alots. How are you meant to come here with your kids for a fun time? Please sell yourseleves to a private business so it can be run properly.

Positive experience: Haven't been here for a while and was pleasantly surprised. Clean and in good order. Helpful member of staff. All Covid-safe.

Fantastic experience: I have many happy memories of here before the pandemic when I used to visit weekly with my infant son. The baby pool was brilliant: super warm and loads of toys to play with. Now he’s a bit older he goes to swimming lessons there. Throughout the pandemic the staff have been amazing, and the adaptations made to allow us to still swim safely every week (when we’ve been allowed) have been brilliant. The best thing about it is the staff, who are always friendly, helpful and approachable.

Positive experience: Everything seems to have been thought through for the gymnastics lessons to make it covid secure

Positive experience: Paid £15 for a shallow family pod. Enjoyed the experience of having a private space and it felt quite big as well. Covid secure and well organised. I think 45 minutes for adults lane swimming is fine but we could have done with an hour. Also, cost was about double normal for one adult and two young children.

Positive experience: Been a couple of times recently. Once the staff were very unhelpful and the second time much better. It's great just the changing rooms really need to be updated. They just always feel grotty and old. And the baby pool needs a bit of freshening up on the tiles etc. I think it's been like that since I was a kid

Negative experience: i went to play badminton with few friends and there was a dance class going on in the same hall with very loud music we asked kindly if they can turn down the volume little bit so that we can hear each other talking but the dance instructor refuse. We talked to the staff but they were no help at all. It was the worse badminton game we have ever played i could not even hear myself think and we all end up with a bad headache in the end. We try to give our feedback at reception but the staff try to ignore us and we were waiting at the reception to be seen but they took too long so we left. Never Recommend this place for badminton

Fantastic experience: Someone below complained that they are put off using council services for children due to it being understaffed. While why don't you put your money where your mouth is and campaign for central government to invest in local government funding. If the council are on its knees due to lack of support from the government then that will affect the quality of services it can provide. If you hate austerity KICK THE GOVERNMENT OUT rather than blaming the people who have to make do with less due to policy failure. It is absolutely fantastic that we have Kirkstall leisure centre, and the only thing that will happen if you stop using such services is they will disappear forever.

Fantastic experience: A long surviving bastion of leisure and dare I say it pleasure. Looking a bit worn at the edges now but still a nice place with friendly staff. Use it and maybe the council will keep its hands off and let it live

Fantastic experience: I go there everytime and with out a fail the time there is amazing

Positive experience: The swimming pool here is great slightly warmer would be better but no complaints...apart from the changing rooms.can only review the women's and they leave a lot to be desired they smell like public toilets the floors are dirty not a nice place to change and shower before or after a swim.

Negative experience: Let down by having no gym onsite

Positive experience: Great leisure centre. To be honest all the Leeds city council's run leisure centres I have visited are of a good standard. I mainly use this one for swimming with my two girls (5 & 2 at point of the review). Change rooms are open with plan with just 2 small family sized ones. The pool is the standard 25m lengthy with a small child's pool too. Water temperature was good and well staffed with lifeguards.

Negative experience: Gross awful dirty, no slides, no fun, boring old people, just AWFUL.

Positive experience: Staff is friendly but pool changing rooms need some changes...

Positive experience: The large pool and the changing rooms are clean, I love coming here for a nice swim. However I did leave early because the pool was a bit cold. It's great to bring the family and nice way to spend time

Negative experience: My daughter attended Gymnastics classes as a 4yr old. Classes are too big and understaffed for the numbers so children are not supervised correctly and not given enough guidance. A poor quality class that we have now pulled our daughter out of as has at least one parent I know. Has put me off Council run leisure services completely for children.
