Anytime Fitness Yardley (Birmingham)

Negative experience: This place is a scam. I enrolled for 3 month package and after then they told me to freeze my account so that I come back any time and don’t need to register again. I trusted them but I said as I lost my job I might come back after 2-3 month later. But after 3 month later they start texting me that I have overdue !!!!!! Then I called them texted them and also emailed them saying why don’t they informed me before unfreezing my account?? They didn’t reply me a single time rather texting me from different different number for my dues!!! How unprofessional behaviour and they harassed me like this . Now they send me a £155.84 pound bill and sent it to the credit collection agency !!! They are trying to harm my credit report. It feels like they are forcing me to pay for something I even never ask for!! I won’t recommend this gym to anyone as this gym is a scam. I even trying to call the manager Mark several times but he never attended my calls not even he replied to my emails.

Fantastic experience: Local community gym with great facilities. Staff are amazing and friendly and always on hand to help with any enquiries about equipment and any general information. Gym is always clean and ready to use.

Negative experience: Small gym and bathrooms stink and rude staff and its too pricey and they take money out of ur bank for another month if u ask to cancel your membership. Nobody should go to this gym and everyone should go to PureGym or The Gym Group where its cheaper and much bigger

Fantastic experience: Facilities are great but even better are the staff and the sense of community they foster. Always willing and available to help with any matter. The machines and weights are well maintained and almost always organised. If I had to go to one gym in my lifetime, it would be Anytime Fitness Yardley. 10/10.

Negative experience: Gym was extremely cramped and had very few facilities. I had a terrible experience, I was approached by a racist and there was a guy hogging the crunches machine. On top of all of that the bathroom held a very foul smell of urine making them unbearable to use.

Positive experience: All the machines, weights and other stuff for fitness fanatics and those occasional gym visits. the option of classes and other activities are well posted and there are regular challenges to keep you interested. Showers and changing facilities are also good and generally clean.

Negative experience: I travel around and go to many different locations of anytime fitness. This gym has by far the worst shower facilities, it’s mouldy and damp. You need to sort this out get some proper ventilation and get rid of the mould!

Fantastic experience: Nicely clean and tidy. Staff are always helpful and cheerful. A great place whatever the hour you want to go.

Negative experience: the worst gym, very expensive for the facilities it has, there are not even showers. the staff don't care about the gym members. I left the gym because I had to move and they wanted me to continue paying for it without using it. Canceling the member is an ordeal. They just want money. 0 recommend this gym. I recommend puregym where I never had problems.

Fantastic experience: Been a member for many years now, not that my physique can reflect that! Always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Can usually get the free weights / racks I want, generally I avoid peak times. Plenty of treadmills etc. And thank the lord for private changing rooms. Gyms shouldn't be like a 1930s boarding school.

Fantastic experience: Not long joined but as someone that is very overweight I really can't fault how accepted I felt. The staff all seem friendly, George was a great help and answered all my questions. Really enjoying my time here very clean and fantastic amenities. You get what you pay for and it really feels worth it.

Positive experience: I can't fault the staff, they're really helpful and do a lot to make it engaging and fun. My criticisms however is it's always full and I can't use the weights when it's busy, and it's too expensive at £30 a month, with an awful contract that's such a hassle to leave. If you visit at the early hours of the morning or late at night when it's empty, this isn't an issue for you, but I've found it unusable at times.

Negative experience: Awful experience. Wanted to cancel my membership due to moving abroad. They didn't but eventually after few phone calls they froze my membership. Recently had a accident. Upon returning I find out they had charged me again for a facility I have not used and will carry on charging me. I explained my situation but they just didn't want to listen. Their policy and terms & condition is a scandal. Never will be using them again.

Negative experience: The gyms too small and not really worth the price you have to pay for. Also they ask for a deposit on the key fob which they say you will get back at the end of the membership which is a complete lie. Better off joining other gyms in the area for less the price with better facilities.

Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN - DO NOT JOIN - DO NOT JOIN I started training there in January on a cancel anytime contract. After 2 months I became unwell & stop using the facilities whist also cancelling my direct debit. Now after not visiting for 6 months & no payment being taken or paid they are trying to reactivate my membership & reinstate the direct debit with charges for non payment. I have reported them to Watchdog & will keep on doing so if they don't leave me alone. It's bullying & harassment. I don't owe them anything & now they're asking for a doctors letter. Jokers. It's daylight robber. The only thing the managers want is their Christmas bonuses & they're prepared to do nearly anything to try & get it. They must be desperate if they're stealing from people to make themselves look good. If they take anything from my bank just watch what happens. They're not getting another penny from me. Clowns!!

Negative experience: I have been going there for 6 years I gave them a 5 stars now I wish I could give them -5 stars they tricked me into paying them annually by making me sign an agreement without notifying me what the agreement is I thought it was for a month then they promised me with two months free which was a lie I recommend not to use them because they have cheated me and over charged me for 14 months as well as late payment the guy there tony if I’m not mistaken be aware as he will trick you into purchasing annual agreement if you ask for a month

Positive experience: Open 24 hrs. Good for basic fitness. Trainers are available on reasonable payments. Only 18 and above are allowed. Not suitable for professional training and bodybuilding.

Negative experience: Do NOT join. They will say anything to make you join and then change what they say later. I went for the 6 months contract and on the phone the lady specifically said 'we will take first months payment out today of £35 and then your next months payment will come out the following month.' After paying for 6 months I cancelled my direct debit as I believed that to be the end of my contract however they are now asking for an extra months pay as the £35 was apparently just to pay for the key fob and a joining fee which was NOT mentioned at all when I joined. They are now also charging an EXTRA months fee just because I cancelled my direct debit after 6 PAYMENTS which is what I had initially agreed too however are not willing to take responsibility for incorrect information given by their staff.

Fantastic experience: Can't say a bad thing about this gym. Best gym in the Yardley area!! Staff go above and beyond to make sure their members are happy. Very rarely gets too busy even during peak times which is rare for gyms. Private showers and bathrooms are great as I hate changing in communal changing rooms. All the members are friendly and happy to help if you need someone to spot you on an exercise, great community vibe!!!

Negative experience: Terrible place. Say you get a refund for the security tag, which you don't. I wouldn't use this place if it was free.

Positive experience: Good place very male orientated most of the time. Great selection of machine including bikes, row machine, running machine, fixed and free weights. Classes also available but you need to book. Open 24/7 just use your tag and gain entry.

Negative experience: Not bad but really expensive for what it is. The gym is quite small but has almost all the equipment you'd need - especially if you go out of peak hours. Never met any of the staff due to the times I visited so can't really comment there. From memory, I think there was just one or two showers - yes, it's that small. Didn't see a changing room. There is no gym open space area. So no classes or room for skipping, shadow boxing, yoga etc. I couldn't bring myself to pay their inflated prices anymore - it just didn't feel like good value for money to me. Especially when there are much cheaper and larger 24 hour gyms in Shirley, Kings Heath and the city centre.

Fantastic experience: Although the membership is a bit more expensive than other budget gyms, there is no waiting for equipment or machines and staff are always friendly and willing to help if something needs to be put right.

Positive experience: Always open to members, you get a fob to let yourself in at any time of day, equipment has tvs to watch while working out. Showers as well. Helpful staff through day.

Fantastic experience: It may be small gym but it has a friendly team of staff who support its members, part of the community and highly recommended to those who train regularly and exercise.

Negative experience: My experiance at anytime has been terrible i urge anytime considering this joke of a gym to avoid as i have found much better for much cheaper. I started on a year memebership which i asked the person who was signing me up to cancel instantly as i didnt want this renewing so after the year they carried on taking money out after phoning them i was informed they was sorry but couldnt refund me i was annoyed but deicded i didnt mind losing £30 as i asked to make sure this didnt happen again as it shouldnt of done they said okay but you will have to pay ANOTHER £30 to stop this i was outraged and refused. since then i recive constant phone calls from them and after explaining the above i am told okay we will look into it then get back to you then yet again another phone call from a different memeber where i have to explain the same thing. 1.Terrible Gym 2. Awful Customer service 3. Staff which seem to never listen and can only repeat the same thin 4. Far to over priced for what you get AVOID AVOID AVOID
