Fantastic experience: Loved the gym, only moved away as I moved. It is a smaller gym and multiple levels which could be an issue for some people (this isn’t an issue for me though)

Negative experience: Gym is a 3 star at best. All other comments are right. Faulty machines, generally uncleanly appearance to the place. But I was okay until I went to have a shower and there’s no hot water? I have to go to work sweaty , unacceptable

Negative experience: Horrible gym, they don't abide by their contract and make it horribly difficult to cancel your membership, multiple machines out of order, too cramped. The peterborough branch is much better.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, this gym suffers from a chronic lack of investment in Repairs and Renewals. I am a regular gym user, and it is becoming more and more difficult for me to continue to justify my subscription payments. There is only one Cross Trainer in working order, the rowing machine is broken, only one of the treadmills is functioning and other pieces of kit are also out of action. (Ironically the “out of action” signs are in the latest Anytime fitness corporate branding!) It is not fair for members to constantly feel frustrated plus I am tired of complaining to staff about the situation. I have recently introduced 2 prospective members but felt embarrassed by the number of pieces of equipment broken - this situation is NOT new. Please offer loyal member the basics we expect and deserve – machines that work, friendly staff and a clean gym. I should note thatt he one remaining member of staff is friendly.

Negative experience: I've recently moved here for the summer as I am with another anytime gym, however the condition it is being held to is disgusting!! Almost all the cardio machines are broken, after weeks of one treadmill upstairs working one is now fixed but all the circuits are exposed causing a major health and safety hazard. They talk about cleansing the equipment after use but there are never any supplies to do so!!! And when their is it's bad quality tissue that rips everywhere when doing it. If you live here and are considering this gym I would advise against it!!!! For the obscene about you are paying you are not recieving the quality that should come with it!!!

Negative experience: Too many machines broken and not fixed for months and months. Only 2 of out 5 treadmills working, 1 out of 3 cross trainers, step machine not working and has been that way for months. No manager to pick issues up with.

Negative experience: After seven months of a twelve month membership at Anytime Fitness Huntingdon, I’ve gathered some observations about the gym, primarily chosen for its close proximity to my home. #### Hygiene The gym often has an unpleasant damp smell, which clings to workout clothes, making them smell musty rather than just sweaty. This odour seems pervasive and suggests possible mould or moisture issues in the building. The door of the downstairs toilet is frequently left open, exposing the gym floor to unsanitary conditions. This is a recurring issue that I notice regularly and often take it upon myself to close them. Additionally, upstairs bathroom doors are also left open frequently. The downstairs toilet is often unhygienic, with urine splashes on the floor and seat. Equipment cleanliness is lacking, with food and drink remnants occasionally found around machines. I once encountered a dead centipede (as shown in the photo section) next to the monitor of an upstairs treadmill, which was disgusting. The water machines appear rusty and dirty, raising concerns about the quality of the water. Consequently, I always bring my own mineral water. Parts of the carpets are stained and dirty, indicating a need for a thorough deep cleaning of the entire gym, including floors and equipment. When attempting to wipe down a bench or other equipment I've used or want to use, I often find that the sanitiser spray dispensers are broken and unusable. This is a fundamental issue that should not occur. #### Member Etiquette Members often obstruct access to the dumbbell rack by standing or sitting too close to the mirrors, blocking others from reaching the weights. This behaviour is inconsiderate and disruptive. Ideally, exercises should be performed at least a meter away from the dumbbell rack. Equipment is frequently left scattered around the gym. Benches, dumbbells, pads, cable accessories, bands, and mats, I have also noticed broken parts of equipment on the floor. Plates are often not re-racked or put away properly. This creates a messy environment and shows a lack of respect for the gym and fellow members. Personal belongings are also left haphazardly around the gym, including gym bottles, dirty gym gloves, cigarette lighters, vape devices, and used plastic bottles. The current storage solution which is limited small lockers and old IKEA-like grid shelving units is insufficient and unsafe. The gym needs a proper locker room with large, secure lockers. #### Equipment Various pieces of gym equipment are out of order, including treadmills, a step machine, a dual adjustable pulleys, and ellipticals. These issues have persisted for weeks, sometimes months, without being addressed. The dumbbells are old and should be replaced. Some treadmills have exposed circuits, motherboards, and wiring, posing significant safety hazards. For instance, I encountered a treadmill with a disconnected console and exposed wiring, which was non-functional and dangerous. Several machines lack rubber coverings on the weight stack pins, including the seated row upstairs, inner/outer thigh, abdominal, leg press, and calf extension machines. #### Wi-Fi Connection The Wi-Fi connection in the gym is poor and inconsistent, which is problematic for me because I train via Zoom on my phone with a personal trainer. I often have to switch off Wi-Fi to improve phone reception, but connectivity issues still persist regularly. #### Conclusion Among the numerous Anytime Fitness branches I have visited, this one is the least impressive, primarily due to poor management, and maintenance. Most of the issues I’ve highlighted could be resolved with better oversight. As the principal gym in the centre of Huntingdon, improving these conditions would significantly enhance the experience for current and potential members. A cleanup or refurbishment could attract more members and increase revenue given the gym's central location. Currently, the gym’s standards are very poor. I have attached photos documenting these issues for reference.

Negative experience: Highly unprofessional and poorly ran establishment, have used another anytime fitness branch and had a lovely experience however this experience in this location has been horrific and I would strongly advise against signing up here.

Negative experience: Awful gym not because of the facility, which is decent though expensive, but the management / customer service - worst I've ever encountered. Moved out of the area, is meant to allow me out my contract, but they will not let me out and still to this day charging me for a gym I can't access. Cancelled my direct debit giving them over a months notice and now they will not even let me access the gym for the current month I have paid for. Absolute crooks - avoid.

Fantastic experience: The gym has quite a lot space, and I've been to quite a few AF gyms. The staff are always on hand to help and go above and beyond (especially Viktoria). The gym is clean and the equipment is always where it should be (the small things make a difference). Would highly recommend the gym to anyone in the area. The service will make all the difference in the world to your fitness journey.

Negative experience: I work away from home and prefer to work out early doors each day, so this type of gym with 24hr access with locations throughout the UK is perfect. However on entering the Huntingdon gym I was somewhat disappointed, there was gym equipment left lying all over, there were carabiners missing from the cable machines, 50% of the cardio equipment upstairs is non operational and has been for at least two weeks. There is a green plastic step up plate that has a smashed corner still left in the gym to use which is clearly unsafe. Both water fountains were disgusting and looked like they had not been cleaned for quite some time. There are lights that are non operational and others that continually flash like a strobe light in a night club. The gym generally looks untidy, dirty, unkept and obviously poorly managed. Not impressed for the amount of money I spend each month on membership fees. Worst fitness first I have ever visited.

Fantastic experience: I attend on quiet times but even with that being said the staff are always friendly and helpful. Always a pleasure to visit even if my mentality isn't there for a full session the staff always seem to give a little nudge in the right direction

Negative experience: NEVER JOIN THIS GYM! I have tried to freeze my account due to an injury for 3 months. However, they keep changing me every month. Due to that, I have been trying to cancel my subscription, but with success as well. Going to the court because it's impossible to deal with them via customer service.

Fantastic experience: I have never been to this gym as I am a member of the Anytime Fitness in Grantham. This review is for Viktoria who used to work there. Me and my brother are on a 3 month contract at a time and Viktoria was always so easy going and made the whole process so easy. I looked at every gym in my town and decided on Anytime Fitness because of Viktoria, she is very easy to talk to and has great banter. Gutted she has left but Granthams loss is your gain. Thank you so much for always being kind, and very approachable

Positive experience: Adam got me and me mate started up at this gym. The gym is clean and good variety. I go at night as that’s my preferred time for a workout. Quite a few of the machines don’t work though, otherwise it’s a good gym

Fantastic experience: PROS: 24/7 , quiet, good equipment. Amazing staff, very welcoming and friendly. I know Adam since he started here. One of the most professional gym employee i have ever met. Great customer service skills, very helpful ( even on his days off he still answer questions and sort out problems when we need which is very nice and impressive ) i am glad he still keep organising monthly challenges, this is a great way to make people take part of different activities in the gym , to integrate easier in this community and why not to make friends . CONS: Too pricey considering the gym is not very big with not much equipment ( some of the equipment is broken for weeks) and whenever an issue comes such as electrical problems or leaks it take very long time to be fixed. This gym is lucky to have such a great staff, i think this is one of the reasons most of us are still here. People DOES make the difference!!

Negative experience: A water rower that's been without water for 8 months, a toilet door lock that's been broken for as long, toilets that routinely lack bog roll and busted water fountains. Really sad how little the staff seem to care given how great it is in terms of access, location and kit. But all of this pales into insignificance next to the horror of one of the personal trainers that works here. Gavin and Seema are excellent and professional. The other is a horrific braying muppet that seems to exist on a diet of high fives, clapping, and leaving kit unattended for an age before running over to tell you that she's using it. Whether it's the barbells, the power racks or the landmine row it matters not. Wherever you want to be she will be there. Top tip - come with noise cancelling headphones to spare your sanity. If I could add audio of its catterwauling I would, but alas these reviews don't support it.

Positive experience: Poor standard of maintenance of the building, broken lights, broken doors, broken showers, all take to long or don’t get fixed. Very good machinery to work out on but does get very busy in peak times and isn’t big enough to accommodate the amount of people all of the time Staff are extremely helpful and professional though, always polite and will answer any questions you may have fitness or product related

Negative experience: Struggling for 2 months to cancel my membership. Was advised by a staff member, to just send an e-mail with a cancelation request and it should be enough. It cleary wasn't because the £35 is deducted ever since. Extremely disappointed. Edit: Untrue, because 1 month later, I haven't yet received anything, from the retentions team. - but the £35 is already deducted, rest assured.

Fantastic experience: Good gym

Negative experience: If you are looking at joining a gym in st Ives I'd say avoid this one, the gym it's self is quite small and gets over crowded quickly even at unsociable hours. Although they have a decent range of equipment there is not enough to go around. I find that the price of monthly cost is too high for what you are getting in return. the core staff that they employ are relatively helpful but their person trainer Reanne is a bully and unprofessional. she pressures people to pay for her services and if you deny her she will lash out and loudly berate you publicly. From the other members of the gym I have talked too they have had much of the same experience with her. Personally I would say if you decide to join at all costs avoid her.

Positive experience: All required measures are in place but some times the number of people in the gym are too high. Also, there are a few people who don't respect others by having their own music far too loud.

Negative experience: Would be a decent gym but I would NOT recommend joining. The gym closed during lockdown but still took money from my partner's account via direct debit despite confirming the direct debit would be frozen until they reopen. My account was sorted correctly but they never refunded the money to my partner and ignored repeated contact attempts. A formal complaint has been made via the ombudsman as the gym have ignored several complaints and contact requests, still requesting payments for 'missed' direct debits. They're dishonest and just want your money. The staff mostly ignore you and are not welcoming in the slightest once you're a member but they'll coerce you with a seemingly friendly approach beforehand. To anyone considering joining, save your money and join elsewhere if you don't want the hassle. Worst Anytime Fitness branch I've come across by far! There are plenty of other gyms in the local area. Check those out first and don't let this franchise take your money! Update 2022 - My gym membership of 15 months (including a promotion of 3 months free when paying up front) was cut short, resulting in only 12 months membership. The gym refuse to respond to any correspondence and have deactivated my fob. I had previously filled in a survey where I mentioned about how only 1 of 4 showers was working and the grouting has dissolved leaving sharp tile edges. The gym is clearly not maintained and I assume my membership was cut short due to this feedback...

Positive experience: It's a bit cramped relative to other AF gyms, and a bit too humid for me, but otherwise well equipped.

Positive experience: Having been unwell for a while, I recieved a phone call from the staff asking if I was OK. A simple but appreciated effort. The gym being open all hours means you can go there when it is almost empty! Equipment is good, they have alot of the Life fitness brand of stuff which is good, however some of the equipment could do with repairs.

Fantastic experience: I was membership for one year. Quite, small gym with good, nice and friendly staff. Air conditioner sometimes was too strong. No many people to making exercises was for me the best. I felt there almost like at home gym.

Fantastic experience: New member. Just highlighting a few negatives in earlier reviews.. No free parking.. it’s located in a town centre, council parking is free after 18:00pm otherwise it’s like every other visitor to the town centre.. pay to park.. not the gyms fault.. Leg resistance machines up stairs.. if your not having trouble on the stairs after the squat rack or leg press then turn around, go back down stairs and work harder.. the stairs can form part of a leg workout! Air con too cold.. it’s a gym, temperatures vary given the number of bodies.. I’d rather a cold breeze of air con than humid and too sticky.. Equipment layout is good, facilities provided are really good for the size of the gym.. we all like more equipment and more space, but it is what it is, and like many I’m very happy. Security is fantastic, it’s like a much higher priced private gym at a good cost. Staff I have seen and spoken too thus far are awesome and look forward to many more interactions. Looking forward to really settling down at anytime and making it my second home.

Negative experience: At the beginning gym had good equipment but after a few months they replaced it for some cheap kid-sized machines which I can't use because I don't fit! This is ridiculous and it's simply fraud! I didn't bought my membership for something like this... Second think is location of leg machines... Some of excersises You have to do at first floor which means You have to run up and down on stairs during Your leg training! Another thing is air conditioning... To strong and to cold! It's a gym or a freezer? It's a shame that gym with good potential (good location and half of equipment is still very good) is ruined by incompetend management which is deaf to the voice of customers...

Negative experience: after a month since I joined this gym they replaced all the machines from good ones to cheap ones... they moved most of the "leg" machines upstairs so imagine starting a leg day with squats with weights downstairs and after that going upstairs where the rest of the machines are, and after that you need to go downstairs again to do calves muscles.. it's a matter of time before someone will fall dawn the stairs. There is no changing room and the aircon is blowing straight at you with freezing air. another thing is that a lot of people DON'T RERACK THE WEIGHTS especially one of the AF personal trainers !!! two stars only because this gym is open 24/7
