Negative experience: Went in for ladies only swimming at 8pm. Changing rooms were full of men from the session before who left the swimming pool exactly 8pm which is when the ladies only session starts. Had to wait inside changing rooms until they all went. Felt so uncomfortable. Then male staff around the swimming pool and also in changing and shower areas. Not very nice for muslims. Need to actually make it Female staff only. As it's supposed to be Female only time Otherwise would be great
I have passed this feedback on to the management team. we are currently reviewing our staff rosters to see if we can do anything to accomodate this.
Negative experience: I’m waiting 30 minutes plus to see someone who can help me to join the gym but unfortunately there is no staff available to help me. The one is setting here does not no anything regarding the membership or updated prices including the manager. She asked me to wait till someone who has the knowledge can come here and help me. I would appreciate if you could work on customer service part as it’s inconvenient for customers to wait this long for a just joining process. At the the I asked if I could leave my contact number and someone can get back to me the manager said ok someone will call you this afternoon. Next day still no call from them. Very disappointed

Negative experience: Rude staff Arrogant manager who doesn't even look at you Car park DOES NOT reflect the amount of members you have No one ever answers the phone Biggest issue is parking! Seriously??? I went today and had to leave as there was no parking. Cars were parked behind cars and on zebra crossing/drop off bay. Literally no room for a needle! Fix up! We pay enough!!!
Negative experience: Visited this afternoon around 13:30.. lady on the desk was not welcoming nor helpful, rather answered my questions sarcastically quick as though she wanted me to just leave, to enable her to continue gossiping with the wheelchaired gentleman. I later returned around 16:00, with the same documents to try and register for the second time. Had no issues this time and was done within a few minutes. Leaves me a little undecided whether I want this to become my new gym with friends and swim baths with my kids.

Positive experience: So far I have had a mostly positive experience here. The pool is clean and the changing rooms mostly clean. The showers, lockers all work fine as far as i can tell. If you email for info, they will reply but the email address doesn't accept responses back. Desk staff have been approachable, and lifeguards pay attention to what's going on. Just wish there were still separate sex changing rooms and some seats by the hairdryers - lots of people swim for exercise because they can't stand for long. Overall good. update: have been a member here for a little while now. overall still good, but the hairdryers are almost always broken

Positive experience: Modern & Clean facilities. Parking is a problem, struggled to get a space today. The pool isn’t as big as I expected. Not a patch on what it used to be, Stechford Cascades used to be such a good swimming baths with slides, fountains, sprinklers etc.
Negative experience: I can’t complain about the facilities however the reception staff are evidentialy racist and rude and seem to have a problem while serving customers of colour.
Fantastic experience: Good gym and swimming- parking is an issue it would be good to possibly use the old site to expand parking. It would also be great to have some more women only sessions as they seem to be massively popular.
Negative experience: I made over 11 attempts to ring the leisure centre phone either rings out or is intercepted by a voicemail greeting and although messages left nobody gets back to you. Tried booking swimming sessions on line but error URL messages come up every time even when correct details have been entered. So frustrating. Only option is to drive all the way there to get my query answered running the risk of wasting my time
Negative experience: Today was my first time going here for a parent and toddler swim session. Although I didn’t have many concerns about the session, I don’t understand why for the swimming pools it is a MIXED changing room and showers?… There’s also no baby / wheelchair friendly shower so we really struggled, there should be some private shower rooms I still can’t get my head around this. Be mindful of this particularly if visiting with children.

Positive experience: Everything is fine/ great but the showers are far too hot. It’s like lava. I try to look after my skin and the boiling water is terrible for my face. Other customers say the same and people are trying to find the coolest shower. PLEASE reduce the temperature

Fantastic experience: They have a great Gym and large pool area it's great for the kids and they do lots of after school clubs. Also, they do yoga and fitness classes.

Fantastic experience: I love the leisure centre. When you walk in there are friendly staff to greet you. Debs is particularly great but all receptionists are warm and welcoming. The manager is always around and is friendly and welcoming as well. I love the gym and the pool. Tony was a great help when I started at the gym, kind and patient with me. This is my safe place where I come to exercise, destress and it helps me with my depression.
Negative experience: The gym is a sweat box.....I was trying out this gym as an alternative to pure gym but I won't be joining here. The gym is boiling hot and once you start your cardio, the heat in there is ridiculous. It looks like they should have air con but they don't. Other gym members have said that it's been like that for months. I couldn't find a member of staff in the gym to speak to which was concerning. If there was a medical emergency then you're on your own in that place. There are weights left lying around on the floor and people banging and throwing down weights like they're Mr Olympia (but they're not). I was really hoping for better, the hunt for a good gym that's not pure gym continues.

Fantastic experience: I'm thrilled to share our experience with the swimming instructor at Stretchford Leisure Centre. Despite initial apprehension, my little one started swimming lessons there two months ago. The instructor's supportive and encouraging approach has worked wonders, boosting my child's confidence in the water. We're truly grateful for her dedication and positive influence on our swimming journey.
Positive experience: I have had so far a great experience here until a recent event. My wife and I made a membership with the centre including swimming and gym and swimming has been going great. My wife wears full cover as we are practising Muslims and this is also in the pool as full cover swimsuits are available. The lifeguards have been ever so sweet about this and understanding. They have not once made my wife feel uncomfortable. We enjoy our swims there with the kids.Sadly when my wife went to the gym she used the running machine for a good 10 minutes until one of the gym instructors came out to tell her that she cannot use the gym in the attire she was wearing which was the full abaya. So my wife was understanding and left hoping that another outfit would be better as the one worn on the Monday was a bit long and wide. In the same week she went to the gym and out of etiquette asked if the attire she was wearing was suitable which was the same attire she wears in the pool but sadly she was declined and was said that it was not appropriate as it was below the knee. Wearing something below the Knee is not appropriate nor modest for a Muslim women, so my wife did not feel comfortable to comprise her comfort to suit the gym policy. So she left the gym and went to the park outside. She literally worked out at the park as an alternative because as a busy mum that is literally the only time she gets for herself. She met the women who made her aware of her outfit not being ‘safe’ and she was apologetic. I would just like to say that if a Muslim women is not comfortable in an outfit that is considered ‘safe’, the centre should consider letting the women exercise in that attire at her risk. My wife ran for 10 minutes and was completely capable of doing so. As she can’t use the gym as her attire is not suitable she opted for the swim only membership which is fine as that the main reason we chose this centre. It would be nice if the gym is a little bit more considerate for Muslim modest women clothing just as the lifeguards at the pool are.
Negative experience: People constantly throwing gym equipment down. Very ignorant and off putting they also do not clean equiptment very unhygenic.

Negative experience: The pool is utterly disgusting and the water has never been changed so even though fresh water is constantly pumped through it means all the gunk builds up in the bottom so it’s covered in dirt. It doesn’t help that there are loads of hairy fat Asian men in there either. After months of complaining I have cancelled my membership as it is nowhere near worth £33 a month awful. Awful swimming timetable means you have no time to build up a routine. Terrible parking availability and not enough personal trainers either.
Positive experience: It's a good leisure Center but the car park is way to small, there are people parking on the zebra crossing the double yellow lines and double parking because there is nowhere else to park! Not sure if the land to the left is allocated for something else but if not the cat park should be extended because we pay enough per month to pay for it , to be honest the car park should have been made bigger to begin with . The gym needs a bit of an upgrade with some new machines as well but the most importantly thing is that parking .
Fantastic experience: Nice gym, plenty of equipment and I like the amount of natural light that floods the gym room.

Positive experience: Packed carpark, staff on their phones and turnstiles that rarely work. People slamming weights infront of the staff is the only thing you'll hear over the same songs again and again.
Fantastic experience: A fantastic environment to workout in with super friendly, professional instructors and a great bunch of people who make all feel welcome.
Negative experience: The negative experience starts the moment you walk through the door. Most of the reception staff are rude and unhelpful. Once you get to the gym you're met with a filthy gym with lazy staff. In the gym area staff either hideaway or sit on a stool disengaged. People in the gym never put the equipment away and they throw the weights down or constantly bang them to draw attention to themselves. This is never challenged but why would people respect the gym when the staff don't?!? Weights are never put away properly and you'll often have to go on a hunt for the weights you need. I have only ever seen one person who works in the gym tidy up. Broken equipment is left out for customers to use it when it's removed it never appears again....... The squat racks have bolts that are coming lose; the maintenance in the gym is very poor and an accident waiting to happen. Staff stand round talking to each other and act unprofessional.......don't waste your time.....there are cheaper options in the area!

Negative experience: I have been off and on having a membership due to commitments with work. I cancelled my card and spoke to a advisor to then later find out I have to pay a fee of 61 pounds. The communication is poor as this could have been resolved much earlier reducing the amount of incurred charges.
Positive experience: Awsome! I've been there many times, every type of gym equipment is to be found there, air conditionined and hygienic, great community as well. You get working and people usually don't stare you down, everybody minds they're own self, so it's a great gym to go to, but not to get to, as it's quite far from were I live It's downsides are it's distance from home, and it's opening times which are limited to 10pm. Other than that it's an excellent gym to go to.
Negative experience: Tried to call approximately 20 times this past week just to book a slot for badminton. Makes no sense how they can’t pick up the phone at any point in the day or even ring back.
Negative experience: Booked in today for a WOMEN ONLY SWIM SESSION to go in and find that there are MALE lifeguards over watching the females swim. As a Muslim this is a horrible situation to be in as I would obviously not be fully covered. Why would you promote a female ONLY swim session to then place a male lifeguard. I then went to reception to ask about this and apparently interrupting their gossip session, to only get a blunt reply where the receptionist told me it always changes and they wouldn’t know if it’s a male or female lifeguard until the day. It is not that hard to just put a female lifeguard for the 1 hour sessions that happen twice a week, how hard can that be???Spaces go very quickly when booking so would need to book online a day before, but then you wouldn’t know if it’s a male lifeguard or not!! This doesn’t make sense whatsoever and should definitely be changed as the majority of the women in these sessions are from a Muslim background. So disappointed as I had to leave and paid for nothing with no refund. Definitely would not recommend to any practicing Muslims at all.

Negative experience: 1. Does not make sense to do swimming lessons during a swim session already going on. The pool is not big enough to close off 1/4 of the swimming pool and ask swimmers to move onto the other lanes whilst they are using the space they have paid for. There are only two lanes after this and half of the main pool is full of people standing around not allowing much room for people who can swim the whole length of the pool. 2. The reception staff need to figure out a quicker routine to allow people who have booked a session through - you’re having to wait a long line to get through for your booked session whilst waiting in the queue for people either paying for a session/making enquiries and it cuts your hour session even shorter and then having life guards asking you to leave the pool 5 minutes before the end time. Maybe figure out a better routine, seems very unorganised Thanks

Negative experience: Not a great experience at all with poor staff quality and customer service are not friendly and most of the time they will tell you to book online for The swimming sessions instead to book inside on the desk and the session are not long enough for kids to spend some good time in the water.

Negative experience: Waited in a massive queue this morning, to be told when we got to the front that we probably wouldn’t be able to swim, as there was no enough spaces left (family swim and lessons). There are not enough staff (a lady serving on her own), the car park is too small (we had to park over the road by shops. We certainly will NOT be going to Stechford swimming baths again! Very disappointed ! And it won’t let you post unless you give the baths one start, which it doesn’t deserve at all.
Negative experience: Its an ok leisure centre. Could do with more seating in the main entrance especially when childrens swim classes are on. Have renovated it but the upkeep is poor. Changing rooms are not cleaned or wiped down. Visible dust on doors and side panels of the changing rooms. Basic cleanliness is lacking and should be priority especially with so many childrens classes running
Negative experience: Never answer their phones. I told reception I wanted to cancel membership, my son went to gymnastics 3 times and didn't like it. Reception took our details down but never cancelled. This has resulted in a third party demanding we pay them £81. Terrible staffing, bad customer service.
Negative experience: I used to look forward to Aqua classes at Stetchford leisure centre, until this experience. Their regular instructor acted very unprofessionally towards me this evening which made me cry!! I will be taking the class somewhere else from now on.
Fantastic experience: Easy to set up a membership. Pool is not freezing. Good choice of activities and times. Plenty of lockers.
Positive experience: My first impression was good. I went for Aquafit. The pool is not that big. You couldn't do 25m up and down like at Fox Hollies. But it is very popular. About 35 people at the class. I've only been once. I guess popularity really affects how the space feels when you're there, which isn't the leisure centre's fault, of course. Would have liked to visit the cafe but didn't want to spoil my weight loss efforts lol.
Positive experience: Took my daughter swimming for the first time. The website says 12pm - 1.30pm is adult and child swim in the smaller pool. Got there at 12pm, got in the pool around 12.20pm. There was lots of school kids coming in and out, and then at 1pm we were asked to leave as the pool was needed for the school kids. If I had known this, I would have arrived earlier to have more time in the pool. Also, there are a few family changing rooms, but only one with a baby changing table. I was with my friend who also has a baby, so it was really hard to get both of our girls sorted as they are both under a year old. It's a shame as the facilities are spacious, modern, clean and the staff were pleasant too. But sadly, we were kicked out early, and there's not enough changing spaces for babies.
Negative experience: The children’s paid for swim lesson was a shambles! One member of staff did not turn up so stage two had to teach stage one plus two! Safeguarding issues… there was 12 pupils to one member of staff! The stand in manager had to stand in and be the lifeguard… he chose to life guard at the opposite end of the pool to where all the 12 younger children were scattered in the pool, some of them were autistic! Absolute nightnare of a swim! Stage two did not get the attention they needed nor did stage one! Antonio the teacher was a star though, hats off to him he did an amazing job trying to control and teach 12 pupils at once! Will be taking this up with the council as complaining here falls on deaf ears! They never take it further nor does meetings with Lucinda the swim coordinator materialise no matter how many meetings are scheduled as she is too busy to turn up!

Negative experience: My son is going there for about 5 years for swimming,the instructors are not good.They keep changing all the time.When I complained so the manager said very rudely you can take your kids out if not happy.They have increased the prices its not worth it.
Fantastic experience: A great leisure centre with fantastic instructors who are very friendly and motivating. I have been attending the group classes for a number of years now and never get bored. The swimming pools are great for the children. All staff are very welcome from the cleaning team, reception staff to the gym instructors.
Fantastic experience: Love the classes ran by Lucy, fab instructor. Staff are always helpful and friendly. A big shout out to Josh, Ellie & Mike who took the time to help me with my gym membership options the other night & explain what option was best for me. Very much appreciated :)
Fantastic experience: I have not visited this centre since before the renovation, wow the team who did the refit did amazing work it’s no longer dark and dingy but now when you walk in it feels clean, I have used the pools and the gym and my little sister even goes to swim class here, it feels like the management have had a renovation also the atmosphere is so much better and all the staff I came into contact with are polite and professional. One of the swim teachers that help my sister Jessica always goes above and beyond to make sure she has what she needs always comes home excited to tell me about her lesson! Well done on a good job with this place!! I will definitely be returning
Positive experience: I love the group classes however the air conditioning never seems to be on or working, which wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't on blood thinners as the heat can make me dizzy and I have to be on them for life. Love the body combat classes Lesley, Mandy and Lucy are fantastic I wish Mandy did more classes there. The reason for 3 stars was due to the air conditioning and the extremely rude receptionist who goes out her way to be unhelpful. I requested a latte and she said it was broken. I asked another member of staff and it was working fine. Other members also have found her to be very rude too. It's staff like her who let the gym down sadly.
Negative experience: Went to enquire about swimming lessons today. The 3 staff members were having a lovely chat between themselves, felt like i was interrupting this chat, so sorry if i did (sarcasm). The lady was less than impressed by me asking her to do some work. Reluctantly checked the system to see if there were any spaces (at this point would be surprised if she just clicked a few buttons without checking). Informed me that there wasnt and there wasnt a waiting list. What establishment does not offer a waiting list is beyond me. When asked how would i know when a place became free, she simply told me i would have to keep coming in and enquire. YES BECUASE THAT IS A REASONABLE EXPECTATION FROM CUSTOMERS. considering the amount of negative reviews about this place i am suprised management has not stepped in to address the horrendous customer service!! Get a grip of yourselves, if you dont like the job, get one thats not customer focused!
Negative experience: Shocking customer service by the bloke at reception with light brown hair!! Absolutely fuming, walked into reception only to ask about a swimming session. The lady behind me was insistent on ordering a coffee (despite waiting in the wrong area to be served) let it slide and said it was fine for her to be served. However, the bloke who served her then started having a chat with someone he must’ve known, again let it slide and waited to be served only to my absolute disbelief did he then serve another person who walked up to the coffee area! Meanwhile a que is building in the right area of the reception.I patiently waited till he was done. Was grateful when he finally walked towards the desk area thinking I’d now be served, nope! I got completely ignored and the lady behind me was served! he obviously knew her as he was asking how she was getting on at the gym. Had to wait for his colleague to eventually serve me. I’m an easy going person if I just get some acknowledgment, an explanation or even ‘I’m sorry for the wait’, would’ve made a world of difference!
Negative experience: Very hard to get through! I rarely give bad feedback but after ringing the leasure centre for over a week someone finally answered and she was not very polite. However lady who was teaching my daughter duckling swimming lessons on Fridays was very nice, her I would give 5 stars
Negative experience: My 6 years old child was taking classes for almost 6 months, but she did not gain any improvement due to the laziness and lack of good training of the trainees. She was in risk inside the water the trainee didn’t give support and empathy to safe the life of my daughter, and I helped while I was in the next pool after I saw she is a very gangrenous situation we decided to cancel the contract. If you are willing to go there you have to take the responsibility of your child no one cares you all in all .
Negative experience: My child was attending almost 6months for the swimming lessons, however,there is no much improvement for her swimming skill since the instructors are lazy and not even bothering to assist the child during the 30min of the lesson. My child got frustrated when she almost dive and I cancelled the membership today. I couldn’t recommend anyone since we couldn’t get any support and encouragement from the management at that moment.
Negative experience: Parking is ridiculous at peak times. Vehicles parked on double lines, disabled spaces without any evidence of ticketing. The police signs state that someone was injured a result yet nobody is ticketing these vehicles. Signs clearly state overshoes must be worn in pool area. Nobody being told to remove shoes adding to the swimming pool soup. Come on guys sort it out so everyone can enjoy this facility.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Stechford Leisure Centre for the last 14 years. During this time I’ve taken part in gym workouts, swimming, exercise classes, and loved every one. The community of members are welcoming and the staff are excellent. Since moving to the new facility just over four years ago, the centre has gone from strength to strength. There is honestly no better place to get fit with hard working motivated people.
Negative experience: Unprofessional staff very rude reception lady she didn't know how to speak with customer service I booked the court 1 week before and go to in they cancelled my booking. Because they give court to other people coz more money. and waited all day could work that day if they give me notice 2 days before. They care about money not regular customer I play Badminton twice a week and spent £40 every week this site and that's how they treated me very very disappointed
Fantastic experience: Variety of different classes including swimming for all ages from 3 years to adults, gymnastics, parties, childcare schemes in holidays, a waiting area and vending machines. Good staff, especially the cleaners. They are both friendly, kind and helpful
Positive experience: Receptionist for swimming was slightly moody buy other then that and the price it was OK, would suggest when kids go regardless of time they should be able to access floats if required
Negative experience: Went to a swimming party on 17/09/22. Whilst the kids all had fun & the baby pool was warm enough for my little one,the bigger pool was considerably colder. Changing rooms/area was freezing!! Everyone was complaining how cold it was and my little girl has woke up with a cold this morning. Don’t think we’ll be going back in a hurry!!
Positive experience: I only use the gym it’s lovely and clean the showers are good, you can use their lockers; just remember to bring £1. The only I would say is that they need open at 6am. They need bigger car park it’s very disappointing when you arrive after work and there’s nowhere to park
Positive experience: Would have received 5 stars if not for a bad experience on Sunday from one of the staff members. All the other staff are friendly and helpful. The baths are clean and the equipment is reasonably new and in good order. I've attended a couple of classes and found them to be fun and engaging as well as giving me a good work out. I class session was a little controversial as we got a big speech about political correctness. Basically anyone who moans was referred to in a negative light. Probably best to keep this for after the exercise class if at all. Overall, I am hoping that Stechford becomes a home from home and I continue to enjoy my time there.
Positive experience: They have great potential but their website is not updated and we showed up for one of their swimming events and the staff said it was cancelled but it did not say anything on the website.
Positive experience: Great pools and changing facilities but sometimes a little too many people are in the swim session
Negative experience: I am a full member of stechford leisure centre however these issues must be addressed. Today is Sunday 14th August 2022 . Firstly note that for swimming there is no booking system so it is always first come first serve however if you look online the timings are allocated to each session. The staff that are on clearly do not abide by this and allow people to stay over the allocated times which causes disappointment to others just like myself and daughter. We arrived at 12 and got turned away saying they were fully booked for the whole day which is hard to believe considering the gym is now open until 5pm. Serco you need to get your act together seriously as well as your staff to clear the pools every hour and restart as per session. I am furious in the approach of staff who told me this information however i haven’t got time for a jobs worth! If I find any more issues I will cancel my contract and that is that.
Negative experience: Level three lessons take place in their small pool which is too small for purpose. The facilities are clean and new but the new pools are too small. Their lessons are over subscribed with no room and not enough staff. Beware cancellation takes a month.
Positive experience: The staff are very friendly here I've only used the pool so can confirm the entrance and facilities I accessed were suitable for wheelchair users. They do have a number of electric charging points (that don't work! - they've never been switched on since they were installed in 2018) Pool and surrounding areas are clean. Changing rooms could do with a bit more of a regular clean as some users aren't considerate of others. Also lockers need to be renewed, too many have broken locks.
Positive experience: Kids are allowed to bring balls into the kiddies pool. With a small baby of few months of age this was not a safe environment. Two pool attendants were in place but they were oblivous to the danger/breach of health and safety.
Positive experience: Nice clean leisure centre. Good inflatable play on a Saturday. Very good children's swimming classes. Decent gym
Fantastic experience: First time in there after new build to enquire about swimming lessons .looks good,clean and uncomplicated.plenty of parking Although shool coaches outside doors.
Negative experience: Needs new management as the attitude of current manager is awful especially considering its leisure centre where kids come to enjoy themselves. After my terrible experience I will never be using this facility again thanks to Mr Judi well done for being abusive to me in front of my kids you shouldn't be working in a place where you may have to talk to people if it was up to me you would be getting sacked.
