Negative experience: Such a poor service, money taken from my account when my membership was frozen for months. Spoken to Janis and DFC, absolutely useless, not answering questions you ask. Avoid
Fantastic experience: Great gym, swim and range of classes. Nice and clean and well maintained. The steam and sauna room are top notch too.
Fantastic experience: My daughter had a one to one lesson with Chloe today to help with her year long fear of jumping in. After one lesson with Chloe she is jumping in, enjoying it and can’t wait to do it again. Teacher Alyssa also came to praise and encourage her. Lovely teachers at Rochdale. Thank you so much. :-)
Negative experience: Terrible organisation, substandard gym full of kids who dont look old enough to be in college, men have reduced access times to thermal suite and swimming pools even-though the monthly fee is the same. No customer service as phone calls go straight to voicemail. No option to cancel membership online or information on cancelling. So many better options for gyms out there.
Fantastic experience: I am a member of the gym mainly using the one at Sports Village Heywwod for combat classes.the only issue is that instructors for these classes are very scarce. Which is clearly why so many gyms are not using the trade marked Les Mills classes which are the best classes. Yesterday I had booked a paddleboard taster session which was brilliant. The instructor was Sandro and he was very good very encouraging and helpful. We moan about the lack of facilities in the area but if people looked at this web site and used the facilities they would realise it's not that bad!
Fantastic experience: Good leisure centre, convenient location being in the centre of Rochdale, lots of facilities to use, clean and well maintained. Thermal suite is perfect following a workout.
Negative experience: Refused entry last week due to membership being suspended so telephoned the person responsible for this and still not resolved after numerous call to the centre and DFC! Still awaiting for that manager Calvin to ring me back ?
Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a gym where you feel welcome and are set up to achieve and not fail go to Middleton Arena and book your induction with James! Whatever he is being paid it’s not enough
Negative experience: Definitely the worst and most poorly organised organisation of all time, no online booking for swimming meaning you can travel all the way and be sent away due to it being full even though the app says no booking necessary, junior gym is absolutely horrendous it’s way too small and crowded with children playing on the equipment as if its all toys, staff are rude, membership is a waste of money because half of the time you can’t bloody use it.
Negative experience: Same as below really, keep changing times for the thermal suite, giving womens only an extra 30 mins from 3pm on a Saturday to 2:30 pm change. Why when it's a Saturday and people are off work. Sunday its mens only from 3pm with 0 cleaning before 3pm. With 0 staffing to check when kids come in. Members and hygiene not upto standards. Even with Covid 19, the thermal area is not monitored or cleaned regularly. Members soaping up in the steam rooms and showering, and spitting. Leaving dirty, used shaving blades lay around after they shave in the sauna or steam rooms.

Negative experience: Thinking of cancelling my membership. Reason being is that they change the timetables of the pool and thermal suites without telling you, no email or text etc. And the website timetable isn't up to date either. So how are you meant to know of these changes when your at home? Today I got kicked out of the steam room not knowing that the times have changed. Am I meant to keep checking every day or week for any time changes? Supervisor on front desk said that's it "only 15 minutes", yeah but I just got in there and I was in the steam room for only 3 mins. Rubbish!

Fantastic experience: Always been a great centre, with excellent staff, and after the first lockdown the cleanliness and organisation was spot on, not one complaint, looking forward to getting back there to doing the sessions and seeing everyone again, keep up the good work.

Positive experience: Been a member since it opened - Great place - Reasonable fees - Helpful Staff - Loads of parking - Plenty classes - Clean equipment Just one complaint... Gents showers needs a "NO SPITTING" sign. Rather sickening seeing globs of sputum floating past from the adjacent cubicle when you're trying to get clean !

Positive experience: Prefer the classes to the gym itself but wish that classes like kettle bell and hiit classes were available in Monday to Friday classes and more of them in the daytime and not just evening. Would also be great if there were more instructor led cycle classes I'm fed up of trying to book on line and it showing no spaces.

Negative experience: The costs of membership were always expensive both compared to alternative Gyms in the local area and remembering that we already pay towards the Gym via the council tax... Asking for such a large percentage increase in membership fees this year coupled with the increase in councillors expenses (30%+) and the actual size of the gyms means I have no hesitation in cancelling my membership. Does the council not recognise the people are struggling out there? Why do they feel free to increase membership by so much, charge the people an additional 30%+ in expenses and the pump up the council tax by 5%+ for the next couple of years....? No longer people I can do business with.
Positive experience: I think I have to agree with the other review link is far too dear in today's world other gyms offering 15 16 now your including sauna in packages disguised the increase just when I wanted to decrease the 9 a month sauna charge meaning 23 instead of 17 I'm thinking of taking my business elsewhere.....Mike and Scott fab lads who do help you in gym. Changing rooms etc sometimes are dirty... kids swearing running around need to be stopped to
Negative experience: extract of complaint about increased fees sent to the direct debit company; I’ve received you letter of 8th December 2016. I also spoke with my local centre as suggested in your letter. I cannot see how you can justify a 26% price increase to #28.99 and dress it up with a little “upselling” of package features, some of which I already used to enjoy with my previous membership. Perhaps you are not aware that there are other Gym providers out there offering competitive rates to users such as myself? PureGym seems to suit my needs at #18.99 a month with #5 joining fee and for an extra #2, I can use any gym in the country. If you had done some research into your members engagements of your services, you may realise that the upselling to try and justify such an increase is not of interest to people like me. Or maybe you are creating some capacity within your facilities for the expected rush of new members in the New Year who will pay the new fees? Either way, this loyal customer of yours is out. I think your strategy will fail. Very disappointed in you. Please also ensure that a copy of this email is sent to the people who wrote to me; Ms Nicole Capper and Chris Coleman. Please take this email as instruction to cancel the direct debit immediately. Do not try and collect any more payments. I will be in touch with my bank also to ask them to take the same action.
