Negative experience: Repairs do not get done. Months and months go by without maintenance. Cleaning does not get done. All equipment is filthy.
Negative experience: If the HSE saw what I saw this morning, this place would be closed down! A very tall ladder was used whilst the gym was open to stop a light flashing. There was no safety equipment used, no precautions, nothing. The only positive is that removing the flashing bulb, the risk of seizure to an epilepsy sufferer was removed.
Dear Paul, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I would like to address some points in your review, as I feel it does not accurately reflect the events that occurred during your visit to the gym on Friday morning. You arrived at the gym at 8 a.m. accompanied by a lady and approached two of our personal trainers, who are not part of the gym’s staff. Despite this, they kindly explained the situation and assured you that they would pass along your concerns to the appropriate staff when they arrived at 9 a.m. However, the lady you were with continued to complain persistently during this time. After being informed of your concerns by one of the trainers, I, as the gym manager, arrived at the gym at 8:15 a.m., earlier than my scheduled working hours, to address the issue. The faulty light was promptly removed, and we quickly sourced and replaced it to resolve the matter. Please understand that as a 24/7 facility, addressing maintenance concerns during operational hours can sometimes be challenging. However, we took swift action to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding.

Negative experience: Update - they sent me a reciept saying I will not be charged and I no longer have access to the gym, I have been charged and I still have no access to the gym. Worst gym ever, the communication of this gym is very good when you want to join but when it comes to cancelling or anything apart from giving them money, they just go dark and it is impossible to contact them, I have sent them multiple emails and phone calls. I get the usual replies like "I will get him (Micheal, the manager) to call you but he never does. The gym itself is not good either, half the machines don't work and the other half are missing parts. The shower are rooms off the main gym room. The classes aren't the easiest thing to book. You could say you get what you pay for but this is just not worth it at all. It is terrible. P.s - please reply to my emails.
Negative experience: Absolutely horrible. I do not recommend this gym at all. Unfortunately my husband and I didn’t feel comfortable here after joining online. They had very quick responses when we was trying to join (of course). We went once and realised it wasn’t for us, so we cancelled the membership within the 14 day cooling off period. My husbands was cancelled after a week. Now a few weeks later and mine still hasn’t been cancelled! I’ve sent multiple emails on different occasions! Even called up the gym!!! No answer apart from once, which was a lady and she said she didn’t know what to do and said to call up the next day! I explained that’s what I’ve done for the past week and no one asks so can the manager call us? She said yes and she’ll get him to call us first thing the next day!!! Still nothing!! I tried calling and they didn’t answer! How great! Now they will be taking the payment on the 1st of the month :(

Negative experience: If you want to join a gym that doesn’t care about its members, basic hygiene, cleanliness or the equipment. Anytime Fitness Moor Allerton is for you! Don’t fall for the staff being friendly and attentive, it stops when you sign up. They have no people skills, cannot answer simple questions, and god forbid if you make a complaint. I asked for wipes on several occasions, You get answers like “we dont need to provide spray or wipes anymore, cause Covid is lifted.” Covid? What about basic hygiene?? A friend of mine asked when the four treadmills would be fixed… the MANAGER’S reply was “people don’t come here for cardio.” They tell you email us if you have any concerns etc, and we will respond, emailed a few times with my concerns, no reply. Then 6 months later I receive a phone call from the manager a month before my renewal asking if i was happy with the gym, and if all was ok??!! Equipment is shoddy, broken for months, one machine was out of order for a year. Four treadmills were out for 6 months, i think the cross trainers are still out of order. Facilities are unhygienic, leaks, rubbish everywhere, not once did I dare use the showers. Yes the gym is small, that is not an issue, the issue lies with the management lack of care for the gym and its members. A shame as it’s in a prime location, truth be known, if another gym were to open nearby it would be disastrous for them. It came to a point where i didn’t want to train, and when i did i had no motivation, the place was bringing me down. Thankfully i have found another gym close by, 5 times as big, clean, looked after, staff are good, every machine in working order. The Gym Group meanwood, cheaper too, get alot more for your money, no contract.
Negative experience: Been a member since the gym first opened and overall good experience however over the last year or 2 there has been a massive deterioration in the gym with many machines and equipment being broken and not being fixed for months on end leaving them out of service. The gym used to be well looked after and maintained so such a shame to see
Positive experience: OK, but regularly untidy and no towels/spray to wipe down the equipment.

Negative experience: Dirty gym no hygiene wipes or tissue to clean anything cannot lock down stairs toilet so anyone can walk in.
Negative experience: This gym is such a missed opportunity - great location and 24/7 is great. However, most of the equipment are either out of order(cable and weight machines) or so old that it’s starting to rust! I suppose at least they have more than 2 treadmills operational now.
Negative experience: Even one star it’s too much very small and little equipment and expensive when my son tried to cancel it they said you have to do online he tried lot of time but didn’t let him to cancel it and call them again and with bad attitude asked him you have to do online after two months pay for nothing he canceled his direct debit after 6 months they call him he has to pay £300 definitely it’s scam why they waiting for 6 months Anyway he didn’t attend even once but he has to pay that much . Customer service very useless, service online very useless they just want money that’s it
Negative experience: I have the roaming membership and was in Leeds for work so decided to drop in. This gym needs a MAJOR upgrade. Majority of the elliptical machines don’t work and have a crack across them. There are no changing rooms or sizeable lockers to put a gym bag into. They have this small open shelving unit on the ground floor for bags and coats, no locks. They have tiny lockers upstairs which would not hold a bag, maybe a few small items. There are two shower rooms upstairs that are not maintained well. There is a small narrow room with a mirror on the wall to allow for getting ready after your shower. The plugs in here don’t work. All in all not a great experience. You can tell it’s old and forgotten.

Negative experience: Do not sign a contract with this gym. It's extremely tiny, with only six treadmills, two of which are in use right now. It always takes longer than forty minutes to get on one . The toilets are very disgusting; all of the tissue is sloppy, and the strong smell prevents you from using it. They are only accountable for collecting the monthly payment !!!!
Negative experience: Most of their equipments are out of order most of the time. for example they have 6 treadmills but only 2 of them are working it’s about 2 months now they haven’t fixed it yet
Negative experience: Was turned away for membership “sorry I have another client now” I cannot do your membership. The guy was sat in the office on his own. I was advised to come and sign up at any time of the day and that’s what I did, came in to sign up due to the online membership not working at all. Do not recommend this gym at all, poor customer service and rude!!!

Negative experience: It’s a small gym so they are limited by space so tbf to them I knew they wouldn’t have everything I would need. However a lot of the remaining exercise machines are always broken and take ages to fix. The place is not clean either especially the toilets. A store next door has closed down so I hope they take advantage and lease the extra space to expand their offering. It’s annoying when the trainers are running their classes in the middle of the gym but given the space there’s not much they can do. Given the offerings this gym is expensive for what you get. There is David Lloyds but that’s further along
Negative experience: Very small gym. They have got the right area where no gym seen around for few miles but they don’t know how to improve the business by making it big, of course they are constrained with limited space
Negative experience: Tried to get the 7 day pass. Turned up twice during "staffed" hours with no one there. Third time lucky, Tom informed me the 7 day pass requires staff to be in. When I asked him what happens if staff aren't there he shrugged his shoulders. Turns out he is a waste of space. Not ideal if you want to temporarily join
Negative experience: The gym is small, and due to space constraints, they lack some equipment. Unfortunately, many machines are frequently out of order and take a while to be fixed. I would not recommend this at the moment. Hopefully they will change for the better.

Positive experience: First week attending the gym. There are pros and cons. Cons first: It was a bit of effort getting sorted so I can attend. Had to collect a key fob but staff are only available during my work hours. Key fob didn't work so had to rush up on my lunch a second time. The Pure Gyms I've been to had a much smoother activation, where they just emailed me a code for a keypad on the gym door. Was able to get gymming, 6am, the next morning, no fuss. Anytime Fitness' Gym is pretty small compared to any I've previously been to, too. Pros: The staff really are quite lovely. Super friendly, super apologetic when things went a bit wrong with my key fob, eager and willing to help when I asked them, on the fly, to show me round the gym. The gym may be small, but it hasn't felt particularly crowded when I've been. Had to wait for someone to complete 1 last set for the lat pulldown machine once, but otherwise, everything's always been available for me when I need it.
Negative experience: Broken running machines 2 of which you cannot run on as the belt slips. Been like this for months and not fixed. Touch screen alignment off which makes it almost impossible to select the right options. The gym itself is not clean to a respectable standard. Sadly there is no appetite to fix any broken machines, when speaking to other members also voice the same concerns. One star is generous.
Fantastic experience: Being new to the area I wanted a gym that I would feel welcome in and the staff have ticked all the boxes. The gym is clean, friendly and has all the equipment that I need. Thanks for making me feel so welcome !
Negative experience: I excercise regularly. I am a member for the last 4 years. In the last few months the gym is dirty, I am not daring to use the toilet, there are tissues, used ones, all over the place. The treadmills are not working, there is one which is not working for 6 weeks. There are weights which are missing. I am very unhappy. I shared this a few times with management and nothing seems to help. I know several members who have moved to other places and have ended the membership. It's such a shame .

Negative experience: Don't believe them when you try to cancel. I gave 30 days notice and was told by the manager at the time that the final payment would automatically come out of the bank - it didn't. It was was 65 days before I knew anything about it by letter. 65 days and they couldn't phone me?! I tried to pay on their online link and it wouldn't let me, so I phoned only to be told to email, which I did. They just referred me to a debt collection agency and charged me £314.00. They left me extremely stressed.

Negative experience: Cancelled membership last year and they took 4 x more direct debits this year and made me pay a months fee to leave. Had to use an indemnity claim to get most of the money back. Only interested in your money and bound by their awful internal internal processes Avoid this place like the plague. In response to my review they said get in touch - when I call them I get told to listen, called "pal" and told they can't change their processes and I have to pay. They continue to ignore the various e-mails I sent. They won't confirm my cancellation status - I am very frustrated / annoyed and they really don't care.

Negative experience: Would rate ZERO stars if possible. DON'T sign up with this gym unless you want to be charged after your membership should have been terminated. As others are saying, this gym takes payments fraudulently and violate their own agreement. Cancelling through their website simply didn't work as the site "conveniently" didn't recognise me as a member. I'd emailed to give written notice to cancel my membership on September 29th and the staff acknowledged this on September 30th. Once I'd willingly paid what I thought was my last fee in October (and yes, my commitment period was over at this point) I reasonably expected my cancellation to have been finalised no later than October 31st (due to them requiring a "full calendar month" to "process" the cancellation). Instead, I was charged again on November 2nd (33 days after my written notice and when the gym was shut for most of the month). When you email them politely explaining the issue, you get a short and rude response from staff implying that you didn't read your agreement properly (FYI, I did read it and quoted it in the email that the staff had decided to ignore) or some other rubbish line. I wonder when a "calendar month" was considered to be 32 days or more! Email again and you'll eventually be ignored. Funny how they want to charge you like a full paying customer but give you the service quality of someone who isn't paying. To Anytime Fitness: If you want to take my money and consider me a customer, even after I was within my rights to leave, then don't ignore my emails. My advice to the staff would be to learn how many days are in each month and how to count! Stop assuming that your customers are stupid and don't know how to read their contracts. Take the hint, your service is terrible! The gym itself is fairly small with tiny lockers (which require padlocks that you have to purchase from elsewhere), only a few small changing rooms (each room is only separated by a single door from the rest of the gym) and a limited amount of equipment (approx. 5 or 6 treadmills, 4 ellipticals, 2 rowers, 2 or 3 squat racks, you get the picture). You'd be better off paying a bit more for a full sized gym like The Edge (shame it's too far from me and I don't drive) which at least has separate changing rooms, weights room, plenty of treadmills and a pool.
Negative experience: The worse gym ever,, If i will give peace of advice do not go to this gym.people are disrespectful.. to take your money they will do it fast,,they charge you full price even when the gym is closed becouse of lock down.Will responde to your emails afterba week. ..and very unprofessional... The worse place ever.

Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!!! Deserves zero stars. The worst service i have ever experienced. They have promised to cancel my membership on two occasions and failed to do so. They have illegally taken money out of my bank account and stolen money from me. They still owe me £83.94 to which they have said they will reimburse...I'm still waiting. I am now receiving threatening emails and text messages saying i owe them more money.

Negative experience: ZERO stars! I cancelled my membership in November 2019. Three further payments were taken from my bank. I contacted the club in February 2020 turns out a staff member hadn’t completed the cancelation properly so then had to wait for an investigation to take place. I was promised my refund in March 2020. That payment was missed with no explanation given as to why! Given COVID, I have been more than understanding and patient but this is now ridiculous. I have been practically ignored and this has not been dealt with with any urgency. I am STILL waiting for my refund.

Negative experience: This gym is a joke. I had a doctor's note to cancel my membership. It was handed into the manager my doctors note who was very rude and said that they need one more payment to give notice so I gave 2 more payments to get them off my back as I've heard how obsessed and corrupt they are. They send me text nearly everyday wanting more money cash in hand. Complained numerous times and they told me to ignore the harassing messages as it is sorted now until I got messages off dept collectors even though I've got a doctor's note. I'm having to contact trading standards as when I called to question this the South African man denied ever telling me he sorted it even thought it was recorded. The staff gossip about customers and make rude remarks as I was told by loads of members. There doing fraud and wanting people to give them cash in hand which is not in the written agreement. DO NOT JOIN THIS gym. They also delete bad reviews

Negative experience: AVOID. Filthy & understaffed gym. FRAUDULENTLY taken payments from my bank account with newly created made up reference after prior cancellation - Police & Trading Standards notified. Cancelled in writing yet receiving harassing calls (now blocked). Amateur & illegal operators. Police now contacted again as fraud continues - they’ve sold the “debt” for 1 years advance charges! Disputed in full. Dishonest amateurs who knowingly commit ongoing frauds. Avoid.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, always enough equipment and never have to wait long for anything. Staff are friendly and helpful and a good offering of PTs available. Have added Bluetooth to the sound system in the private workout/class room which is a great addition.

Fantastic experience: Does exactly what you need a gym to do. It has all the necessary fixed and free weights. Running machines etc. It's clean , bright and modern. Parking is on the doorstep. They're very keenly priced too. Big bonus.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of this gym for over a month now. The staff are very friendly, approachable & always willing to help. The gym is always clean to a high standard. In terms of equipment - it's got everything you need to have a good work out regardless of what you're working on. With 24 hour access it's easy to fit in a session. It's most busy around 1700 - 19.30ish on weekdays so plan accordingly. Altogether is a very good gym, and one of the better ones in Leeds that I have been to.
Negative experience: In this day and age I’m surprised to see overpriced, 12 month contracts at a gym that offers very little facilities.
