Fantastic experience: The best classes ever

Negative experience: This gym used to be good but is very poorly managed. Sauna/steam room is never working during the hours they should. No communication, no notice boards at reception to advise members. Many people now walking into area with shoes on as it is unreliable

Fantastic experience: I recently joined this gym and I am so impressed! The staff are friendly and helpful, the equipment is top-notch and always clean, and there is a great variety of classes to choose from. I especially appreciate the focus on hygiene and the spacious layout. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great workout experience!

Negative experience: This place is seriously in decline. Lots of equipment is broken I.e pull down cables, jacuzzi hardly works, the sauna and steam room are not clean. Many broken lockers in the men’s room. The showers are not working properly for 1-2 showers. Parking machine is out of order so have to use Ringo which is charging double the rates. Overall this is becoming a disappointing experience and many members others share this view. Will have to send a formal complaint as there are too many things going wrong and nothing is being done despite the price increases in membership.

Negative experience: Parking machine not working, forced to use rip off Ringo which charges double the money, terrible.

Negative experience: Dirty, unclean, smelly, most things are old or broken! Gone down hill big time

Dominic Goddard-John 8 months ago

Positive experience: I only use the leisure centre for the gym and sauna and both are of adequate standards. It would be good to see some additional machines added and maybe remove some of the treadmills and cardio machines. Quite a few of the treadmills appear not to work at any rate. Some of the weight equipment is worn out and needs replacing, too. The sauna is switched off between 12pm-6pm which means you only have a limited window to use it during the day. It’s very inclusive and I’ve never felt out of place or awkward working out here as I have at other gyms in the past. Good, but room for improvement.

Krupa P 9 months ago

Positive experience: Soft play is very good. Cleaner than most and food is good with variety. However more often of than not there are too many children in the play areas because people stay over their booked slots which causes overcrowding. Not the safest for small babies.

Fantastic experience: Nice helpful staff. Clean everywhere I went. Was quite busy but it is very family friendly.

Positive experience: It's a good place for a swim!

Negative experience: The staff is lovely, but for the rest, gym equipment is rusty and old, based on the yearly price we can expect Better equipment. Some gym much much cheaper provide new equipment when here everything look so old. Hard to understand where our yearly paymenet going. But the worst part for me is the swimming pool. Suscribe here especially for it, and most of the time you can't access the swimming pool due to kids school, private lesson etc etc. Only during some ridiculous hours like 7pm - 8pm or 9pm - 10 pm etc etc. Based on the size of the swimming pool 1 or 2 line should always be available for member. What's the point of paying for gym + pool when the only person that can use the pool is the school and not the member ???

Positive experience: The kids love the swimming & soft play

Positive experience: Nice leisure centre, good value - car park is cheap, we have been here for the soft play and the swimming pool, both of which were great - although we felt the water in the pool was a bit too cold for our little one.

Negative experience: Lots of gym equipment out of order, rarely repaired. I had been a member for over l0 years as I live very close by but each time I attended the gym I found most of the treadmills were out of order. Using the ones that did work, I’d manage approx 17 minutes before it always stopped working and wouldn’t reset. Id then look for another treadmill and start over again. The number of times I watched people set themselves up on the treadmill only for it to not work, then they’d walk around trying other treadmills until they found a working one or just gave up altogether . Lots of them are turned off at the plug. I complained to the management but they didn’t sort the issues out. Also, I was constantly reporting to the receptionist ( hard to find staff on the gym floor) that the paper towels/sanitiser dispensers were empty. They never restocked them. My husband ( also a member for 10 years) had similar issues in the weights area of the gym , with lots of notices on equipment stating out of order . He too decided to leave after speaking with a staff member , he complained about paying monthly for a service that didn’t provide working equipment and was told to just cancel his direct debit. So he has, instead he has joined anytime fitness in Epsom and is much happier. I’ve joined a different gym near my work place and am also much more satisfied with the equipment and staff there. Don’t waste your money at the Rainbow centre, I think it only remains open because the schools use the swimming pools. I’m surprised management haven’t shown concern over the number of poor reviews.

Fantastic experience: Incredibly knowledgeable staff. My son loves coming here for his weekly swimming lessons and also for the Rainbow holiday clubs. Incredibly well staffed; good cleanliness and the cafe is always a delight.

martin barnard 1 year ago

Negative experience: An absolutely diabolical place, swimming lessons were repeated week after week after week, when cancelled lessons they took my money after it was cancelled and have refused to refund my money according to their policies of giving almost 3 weeks notice. Just a shameless company. Take take take. And the public can go do one according them.

Negative experience: Don't book a Family session! The changing area is dirty and not well kept. There are signs asking everyone to remove their shoes but this is clearly not enforced, meaning that anyone who does follow the rule is subject to very dirty and unsanitary floors. It is unclear from the online booking service that the Main Pool Only family session is very much not appropriate for under 8s. My child is three and the area we were allowed in due to his age was about 10x12m. It was very crowded and older children were kicking us and splashing our faces as they tried to play in such a small space. I was unfamiliar with the pool as this was our first visit, but when I accidentally and unknowingly went out of the permitted area no less than three lifeguards shouted at us. One in particular was very rude. As I was moving back to where we were allowed (had already been told to move and was attempting this), he shouted at us more. I explained that I had already been told to move and was doing so. At this point he became angry, shouting at me about his job and making me feel very uncomfortable. He did not care at all that he was shouting at me in front of my child. It spoiled my whole day to be spoken to in that manner. Despite this, I was willing to give it a chance again. I booked session for today but was emailed saying it had been canceled. They did not refund my card, but kept the money in "my account." We are relocating tomorrow and I will not be returning. I have asked for a refund but am not holding my breath.

Negative experience: I’m not sure what the management team are smoking but THEY ARE THE WORST! The gym is dirty! The spa is dirty! The steam room is mouldy and the sunna is breaking! ZERO CARE! And Rainbow as the audacity to increase the price! How about get RID OF ALL THE MANAGEMENT TEAM AND BRING NEW ONE WHO ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMER! I would give -5 stars if I could

tim dalby 1 year ago

Positive experience: Good facilities but very odd there is no direct connection between swimming pool and thermal spa area. Having to get changed to avoid dripping through gym and move between them is really annoying.

Giuliano Bertello 1 year ago

Negative experience: Zero interest from Better management to fix any of the long outstanding broken things! I paid my membership annually one-off Sept 2023 and since Dec 2023 the jacuzzi is permanently off. Before that, they already had reduced the SPA opening time from 9-12 and 18-21, using the excuse as saving on electricity costs. Now apparently a leakage through floors they jacuzzi is shut completely. Showers water is cold more often than it is hot. Swimming suit spinning dryer broke in winter 2024 and instead of fixing/replacing it, they simply removed it. Dyson hand dryer is broken and they don’t even bother putting a sign saying sorry. Showers floors are smelly and dirty. The gym equipment itself is not bad actually but I didn’t pay a full year membership in advance to get screwed in such a way that I now prefer to go straight home instead of bothering having a shower here and perhaps use the spa. I will NOT be renewing my membership this year because for more of less the same price you can get a much better gym in Epsom (Anytime Fitness) with good facilities and is clean and shiny. In all this services decay, they even had the guts to increase the membership price. Ludicrous! Leaving 1 star cause the system doesn’t allow me to put -1

Leo Abraham 1 year ago

Negative experience: Do not apply to use the gym here, the equipment is literally falling apart and is a health hazard! If you do apply for a membership here, alongside the ridiculous sign up fee, you are also imposed to pay an extra month at the end of your membership and that's if you can even find space to use any of the machines as it is so busy! As with all "Better" locations, try any other gym and it'll ironically likely be better.

Fantastic experience: Good soft play and well priced!

Hussein Mohamed 1 year ago

Negative experience: Good facilities but a number of things let it down. 1. Difficulty in booking badminton courts and cancellation for unknown/unexplained reasons at very short notice. Very often, there is no/limited availability for badminton courts. For example went there on Sunday to find there were two badminton courts set up and two courts were used for table tennis tables. The tables were unused for the two hours I was there whereas there is great demand for badminton courts. Also noted that quite often we’ve been unable to book a court only to later find out that the courts were empty at that time (for inexplicable reasons) or were designated (but not being used ) for another activity such as indoor football (in summer!) – not just once but week after week for the last couple of months. 2. On the instances I’ve been able to use a badminton court, the floors are often dusty and slippy. Related to this the roof leaks onto one of the middle courts when it is raining. Its hazardous to play badminton where there are small pools of water on the court. These health and safety issues should be addressed urgently. 3. Less of an issue but worth mentioning as it doesn’t happen anywhere else that I’ve visited – it costs 70p to park each time if you use the app. A bit cheaper if you remember to bring change. If you want to bring a friend then in addition to paying for the badminton court, they need to pay a guest fee of £2.50 each. If management read this then please consider the points mentioned in (1) above. Issue 2 should in any case be addressed as a matter of urgency. If these two points could be looked at then it really would be a great facility.

Positive experience: swimming pool: i like how they have windows to let natural light flow through the hallways. I swim in the morning and it is clean but once I went in the middle of the day and it was quite the more contaminated. There was bits of stuff floating around.

ALESSANDRA CAPPAI 1 year ago

Positive experience: It is a good 2 floor gym with swimming pool , kids area and smal spa with jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Unfortunately the spa, which is the main reason why I chose this local gym, does not always work ans the jacuzzi is frequently broken. I hope this will be fixed for good as I am aware many clients like me would leave the gym if it kept being inaccessible.

Sapna Chaudhary 1 year ago

Negative experience: We have 2 memberships there, one for national and one for the child (to enter into center); the whole purpose was to secure a badminton court, but rainbow centre has removed most of the bookings from the online platform; they don't want people to play badminton (had we known we would not have paid annual membership) as they block courts for a different event and majority of times those are not used and despite being empty they don't release those slots. Seems they are tricking people, first to allow bookings (1 slot per day) and then abrupty reducing court availability with no refunds; they dont even switch ON full lights in court (electricity saving it seems) without realising that for badminton you need proper lights. Very sorry state of affairs there

Danny Gwynne 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Great facilities- very clean! They use RingGo for parking so make sure you have the app

Albane 1 year ago

Negative experience: The customer service is really bad. We booked a badminton court via the Better app and when we arrived at the center we were asked to pay an additional non membership fee of £2.50. This was not mentionned at the time of booking and the person at reception was not helpful when asked about this additional fee. Any extra fee should be clearly stated upfront when booking. I used to have a gym membership here and was willing to renew it which definitely won't happen. I hope we'll get a refund for these hidden fees.

Usha Gopinathan 1 year ago

Negative experience: The facilities are good but unable to book badminton courts which is my reason to get the membership. There is no racket only option so very expensive to have to get a full membership. Also have to pay extra for playing with nonmembers which adds to the costs. In addition have to pay for parking which makes it altogether an expensive affair.

Tasmin Henrietta Lang 1 year ago

Negative experience: When trying to renew my membership, there were a couple of problems and the lady at the desk was rude to me. Then when my mum phoned she got an even ruder man down the phone. Terrible customer service. I won't be going back there. I will look to swim elsewhere.

Al K 1 year ago

Negative experience: gym equipment is fine, but the amount of children/teenagers in at peak time is ridiculous! on more than one occasion i have seen kids run to equipment you were just about to use or just sit and hog machines, staff do absolutely nothing and just walk past!! i feel very uncomfortable and annoyed when you’re on a machine and you can see the kids literally eyeing up the machine before you’re even done! there should be some kind of rule for a certain amount of children in at one time as it is absolutely ridiculous, my last straw was i saw a bloody tissue by a machine and numerous times a pt walked past not noticing. would definitely avoid at peak times and weekends as it’s like a youth club!

Fantastic experience: We took a large group of children from Epsom & Ewell Mini Phab to Soft Play and had a fantastic time. From our initial enquiry and pre-visit everybody was so welcoming. As a Phab group we are inclusive and the staff worked with us to make sure everything was accessible. The soft play area was large, well equipped and very clean. The children had a lovely time playing on the climbing equipment, in the sports area, down the slides and on the huge piano. The baby area was particularly busy with our little ones. We're going back for another visit next month and are really looking forward to it.

Fantastic experience: A great local centre with good facilities, definitely one of the best in the area from my experience. Staff are always friendly and welcoming, the new female manager was also so helpful and patient with me when I had a million questions to ask!

Jack P 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, very well equipped gym and always greeted with a friendly smile from staff members, thoroughly recommended.

John 1 year ago

Negative experience: Sauna is often not clean and has a broken wooden seating which has not been fixed for a while, the Jacuzzi is out of action and has no signs of getting fixed. This is not acceptable as we are still paying a full membership fee. Similar story for the steam room which is dirty (tiles don't seem to get cleaned). The changing rooms need a revamp as many of the lockers don't work properly (broken), the wet clothes dryer does not work, the showers are often out of shower gel. All in all this place needs to seriously improve and invest to prevent members from leaving.

Duda Donya 1 year ago

Negative experience: The last 3 times i have been here were a nightmare for my 11 month old. The amount of 6-10 year olds jumping around in the BABY area is so dangerous as i had to protect my son many times from being knocked out the way so he couldnt play freely at all. Will never return here again as their really isnt a safe baby area for babies to play in. I basically had to carry him and then left early!

Ian Williams 1 year ago

Negative experience: The whole place is steadily deteriorating. Leaks, broken machinery, spa facilities are increasingly limited (or just simply unavailable). Water temperature in the pools and showers is variable (to put it kindly). I won't be renewing my contract and I suggest others look elsewhere.

Positive experience: I was there for a kick boxing event, and the car parking was queuing up the road. What was not so good, people just being stupid waiting for parking spots to become available and causing traffic problems. The canteen also seemed to be struggling, I waited 25 minutes for a sandwich and when I went to collect it, they had given it away.

Fantastic experience: I have rated the centre 5* last time. I now need to go back and write this review because I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to Pietro - a swimming pool guard who wears glasses- for his devotion to his job, paying attention to details, carefulness and especially kindness. He is one of the top swimming pool guard I have ever known. With his expert experience in swimming he quickly noticed that I was an inexperienced swimmer. He then assured me about my safety at the same time encouraged me to improve my swimming skill. He even went far to show me some tips and guides for floating and being better swimmer. He went beyond his duty as a guard. He made my day with his kindness. He made me feel safe everytime I go to swimming pool and see him there.

Fantastic experience: We only tend to use the gym, really, but there is a vast array of equipment and something for every level of fitness. The sauna and steam rooms are good. The only disadvantage is that they are only open at set hours, which means they can get packed, and when you're going to relax, and you want a bit of space, there's often lots of people in with you. So you've got to pick the right time, but the right time seems to vary a lot.

Rainbow Leisure Centre

Negative experience: The running of this place is a complete shambles. Half the time the pool is closed for lessons even though you could fit the people into one lane, and half the time it's advertised as open it turns out to be closed when you get there or you get a message at short notice. Impossible to get anyone to answer the phone. Often the desk is unmanned.

Rainbow Leisure Centre
Rainbow Leisure Centre

Dear Jeff We apologise for the issue caused with your session being cancelled at short notice. Unfortunately we have been hit with staff shortages due to sickness which has resulted in restricting numbers of swimmers in your session. We are confident that this wont happen again as we have put measures in place for future weekends. The pools are closed for lessons between 4-6pm during the week as this is a popular time for swimmers to learn to swim. We have recently opened up more fitness swimming sessions in the evening after lessons have finished to give adults more choice to swim. I have compensated your account with an additional free visit to help compensate for this weekends missed visit. Kind regards Rainbow Management

Positive experience: First of all... the parking is a big issue there on Sunday as the closer parking is close!!! the venue is small and maybe in normal days the outside parking in enough but when there are some events in the venue you can spend hours looking for a parking spot! the swimming pool has six lane and a nice children pool, nothing fancy but decent size. The gym area is huge and all the machines are in a big area and you can find what you are looking for. The place looked also clean and well mantained.

Negative experience: This is my local pool so I do take my kids here on & off for convenience. However, am often disappointed when I go. Cleanliness not great, sometimes showers are too hot or too cold, likewise with pool. Kids working there are unfriendly & not very good at evaluating kids swimming ability. Balance between lane & play swimming just so poor, no kids swimming during the week at all. They frequently have incorrect information on their website, last time I went for the aqua play & website stipulates adults can do it but I wasn’t allowed, even though some of the teenage kids were bigger & heavier than me & also not allowed to actually swim in the pool whilst it’s on. Other parents also treading water at end of pool watching their kids have fun. Rubbish!! Also, why do we have to pay for parking when using the leisure centre? Another stealthy money making scheme. Disappointing!

Rainbow Leisure Centre
Rainbow Leisure Centre

Dear Sian, Thank you for your review and feedback. We take these comments very seriously and as such I have shared this with our management team. These areas are scheduled to be cleaned every 30 minutes however, we are currently experiencing higher footfall than usual. Therefore, I have arranged for more resources to be added to make sure these changing rooms are clean at our busier times. The showers were repaired last week, so this now shouldn't be an issue for when you return to the centre. Thank you again for your feedback

Fantastic experience: THERE IS A LOOPHOLE IN THE BOOKING SYSTEM. Most members who uses the Rainbow leisure centre sports hall noticed a particular group of people using a booking program to book every court and forced everyone to stop using the courts on a regular basis, then this group would invite 5~30 guests and most of the time charge for coaching/training. It is only a matter of time when someone decides to flood all booking activities in all Better UK group and crash the system. This situation has continued for almost a year and I believe the first action is to fix the booking system. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED NOW!!! 1. Please add human verification(I am not a robot, select pictures of the same description verification) to your sports activity/ facility booking pages to stop these auto booking programs. 2. Please keep a log on booking users and monitor irregular booking activities and alert staff in leisure centres, such as alerts on users who can book instantly, booking via same ip addresses or device.

Rainbow Leisure Centre
Rainbow Leisure Centre

Dear Customer Rainbow Leisure Centre’s badminton courts are in high demand with many members using a variety of flexible options to book. We pride ourselves on offering value for money by providing different payment options to suit all players and members. Specifically, we have a BetterUK membership for only £65 for swimming, gym, classes + 1 badminton court per day. This is a huge benefit for our members to use as it can be used at any Better leisure centre within the UK. This results in a member to book up to 20-30 courts per month which is amazing value. With regards to court availability, we are constantly opening up more courts for booking to cater for demand. For instance, we are now offering more courts at weekends and also from 7am in the morning. The programme is also constantly under review to keep up with this demand. I am sorry to hear that you are struggling to book courts, however I have looked at our facility calendar and there were still over 90 courts available over the next 7 days (19 of these courts are available between 6-8pm). Please use the BetterUK App to see availability. I would also like to take this opportunity to highlight our No Strings Badminton session that takes place every Monday between 8-10pm. This is taken by a coach employed by the centre who will organise games and competitions. There is a capacity of 24 players, so spaces are available each week for you to join in. The cost is £5.25 per player. BetterUK and Better Racquet members get this free as part of their membership. With regards to a group of players that book the courts. I am aware that badminton is a very sociable sport and as such these players probably know each other. However, we do not condone coaching by any individual other than leisure centre staff. Members are authorised to invite up to 3 other players on court therefore, there is a strict rule on capacity. We also recently introduced an additional fee for non-members to play. This again is regulated and monitored. Unfortunately, I cannot implement your suggestion on checking human verification at this time. As I mentioned, there are courts available and we believe that bookings are being made in good faith and on a fair system of booking 7 days in advance from 10pm onwards. Negative experience: The pool area needs to be condemned! The place is really grimy, the showers are a disgrace. Talking of showers, the ones by the pool have not been working for over 3 weeks!!

Fantastic experience: Used the soft play area with PIN entry. Clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Various areas are suitable for different sized youngsters and tables and chairs available to take time out. Small cafe bar set in the soft play area.

Positive experience: Cheapish swim, marred by unanounced lifeguard training sessions that restrict lanes. Waters a bit cold on entry, but you soon warm up. Otherwise good.

Positive experience: Fantastic soft play for little ones! Shame there isn’t enough parking, avoid peak times.

Negative experience: I don’t like to post bad reviews but this place deserves it. Really dirty, always. Have taken my kids swimming there 4 times and I’m not sure they employ a cleaner The website is difficult to use and honestly the staff don’t seem to know what’s going on and certainly can’t answer questions or solve issues. There’s a parking attendant giving tickets every time I’ve been and very limited parking. But the main off-putting thing is definitely the cleanliness (lack thereof) of the pool and changing rooms.

Negative experience: My daughter is 16+ (17 in July) . We bought the Better Health Centre Junior £19.50 per month Junior (Under 18) Home centre only Setup fee: £10.00 You would think this is OK. She was going to the gym fine, no problem,. Today, she wasn't let in. Apparently, she should leave the gym at 5:30 under that membership. She leaves school at 4. I quickly went to the website to see if I had missed some condition saying LEAVE at 5:30...but no...it doesn't say anywhere that you must leave the gym at 5:30 under that lmembership. She tried to change it there and then so she didn't miss the day of gym but the PROCEDURE...I haven't seen anything more clunky or convoluted to do an upgrade on a membership... VERY LET DOWN...VERY disappointing...On top of that, as mentioned in other reviews, front of house staff's attitude needs improving for sure. Can someone put this very important condition IN CAPITALS on the website under this membership, please?

Negative experience: We booked an hr for the splash, when we got there my daughter wasn't allowed as she couldn't swim in the adult pool ( why have children activities in the adult pool?? ) we gave up and went into the children pool but only for 30 min as they shut that one and told us to leave. Used plasters in the kids pool, rusty disgusting safety bars next to the pool, grime and dirt in the changing facilities and everywhere i looked, as for the toilets....i told my child to hold it till we get home. That was the most expensive, disgusting experience ever , not going back there

Negative experience: I can only talk about the gym and not the other facilities. Gym is not bad however when you consider the cost of the membership compared to other places it’s pretty poor. Treadmills consistently blocked. Staff say they are waiting for someone to come to fix them but this has been going over for over a month. If you are looking just for a gym there is better value for money in other places in Epsom

Fantastic experience: Great local leisure centre. Swimming, gym, on site cafe, parking spaces (full at peak times) and a host of term/non term time activities.

Negative experience: very silly how the website says it is open but you get there and it is closed, this has happened on multiple occasions, very simple thing to do that will save people time if they make the journey.

Fantastic experience: Been lifting some big weights here for a while. They now have three squat racks and a deadlift platform as well as a good selection of machines, barbells and plates. Swimming pool is a good as well.

Negative experience: Pretty standard. Pool times are difficult with clubs and schools. The pool toilets are always a little gross. If you do have a complaint, good luck getting a reply

Negative experience: The swimming pool changing facilties & toilets need to be cleaned more regularly. I took my 4 year old daughter swimming today - we had to use a blocked & very dirty toilet. And getting changed both times we had to use dirty changing rooms - disgusting. I've used the softplay before & that is immaculately clean & tidy and the staff are brilliant. But the pool facilities need to be cleaned more regularly - they were horrible when we visited today.

Negative experience: We used to visit rainbow leisure center and it seemed very nice place but recently everything has changed. Badminton courts are very dirty and nobody checks how many people are playing at one court. Also there is no sense of membership - you still need to pay for a badminton game.

Paul Wingfield (PWingers) 2 years ago

Positive experience: It's certainly good for a British leisure center. It's a pity that the whirlpools are not working though; apparently they haven't done for many years. Perhaps I'm being harsh because I've recently been spoiled by a visit to Australia where all of their leisure centers are amazing.

Negative experience: Attended the Rainbow Soft play for the first time. My wife booked for my 3 year old and 5 year old. They charge £8 per child. My wife injured her foot the day before so couldn't properly supervise the little ones. I therefore attended to assist her. I had to pay £7.50 as an additional adult just to supervise the child. Absolute disgrace!! It was only after that I found out that since we paid for two children, I should have never been charged as an additional adult. Also, when we initially got there, there was no table free for another 20 minutes. This was because others attending were overstaying and no one was monitoring the wrist bands. When we finally got a table, the floor was full of food. Again, no one cleaning up. The place was filthy. On the whole, not happy about the lack of supervision, lack of cleanliness and effectively getting ripped off with the pricing (£7.50 to watch my own kids play). Also had to pay for parking in a nearby car park because this car park was full.

Positive experience: Nice softplay, and bar. Friendly staff Beware of the parking. Some customers paying by Ringo got tickets as the parking guards system wasn't communicating with Ringo.

Fantastic experience: No idea why it has low rating, the only problem are the teens trying to lift weights and literally risking their life. Very good gym.

Eugene 2 years ago

Negative experience: The swimming pool is fine, normally have enough space to swim, the water always seems to be clean with right temperature. But cleanliness of changing area and especially shower’s floor is shocking! Lots of people walking barefoot, then who knows if they wash their feet before jumping into the pool?.. Also better space and time management would help use the pool at max capacity: often 2/3rds of it is dedicated to “family leisure” and is half-empty, whereas fitness lanes are fully packed.

TheBackrin 2 years ago

Negative experience: Relatively well-run facility, but please beware of the misleading membership packages. Mine included "All facilities in Centre" and yet, when it came to booking a 40 minute badminton session, I had to pay. I called up and was told that it was not included, the justification being that there is no mention of free racquets in the membership. And I did not even need the racquets. With all the benefit of the doubt, this is bordering on fraudulent. I know times are tough, but it should not be a reason to treat your members in this way. Please realise that centre membership does not mean much more that you need to pay a monthly fee on top of what you pay for activities. Really sorry to see Better centres around (and not just this one) go down the drain in every way. To wrap up, my membership is cancelled now and I will move to a private facility, and will not be too unhappy when this one closes in future.

Positive experience: Good size swimming pool and not too busy. Soft play is also a great option for families with kids

Sam Manley 2 years ago

Negative experience: Pros: gym is spacious and decent equipment. Cons: Reduced times for health suite. Changing rooms / facilities often dirty / in disrepair.

Dancing Onmyown 2 years ago

Negative experience: Did not have a good swim today. I usually swim in medium line as I am fast for slow and slow for fast line. I wish lifeguards would police lines better. Medium lane was full of people doing breaststroke at a leisurely pace. So frustrating as slow lane only had three swimmers. I am assuming their egos can't accept slow lane swimming.

Positive experience: Well organised for a youngsters Birthday party in the soft play area. Friendly staff. Kids enjoyed themselves and the food served for the party went down well too.

Negative experience: 18/8/2023 Update on badminton booking at Rainbow centre Epsom.Seriously it managed by incapable people. There is a group taken over every booking where no ordinary members can get the courts 6.40-10 on week days 6-8 weekend ,sometimes courts get booked at 9.59 before booking line open .If the management has thinking ability they will check if those courts are booked every day by same set of people or different members they will identify how this gang misusing booking system but the management doesn't care as they get paid whether they do their job right or not.Its a disgrace how other members denied of getting a court but one group able to do but no action has been taken so far. 20/05/23 Today I tried again to book a badminton court at Rainbow centre by 10pm, when the booking opened all the courts were full. Nobody can get a court at 6-8pm on weekends and weekdays after 6:40 except this group operating there. WE made numerous complaints for the past 8 months, even a petition signed by other members were handed to the management & have got screenshots of how the court disappears just as the booking opens. Is the management taking the issue seriously?. Last week they released the court on Monday instead of Saturday myself and few people managed to book a court but this week we are back to square one, they released all 4 courts tonight and all were full the moments it open seems like we can't compete with a group who in my opinion is using some form of booking program. This group has been breaking rules time and time again and nothing has been done because what ever action the centre tries to take, it lasts only for a week and after that they never follow it through. I believe the management is not fully thinking this through as there are so many members so why can nobody else book courts except this group every weekend evening and at peak times on weekdays. Anyone who has any mathematical knowledge will know the probability of someone getting nearly every court on weekdays and every single court on weekends when the booking system gives an equal chance to anyone is extremely low, and as each day goes by, that probability goes down even more but somehow this group can "magically" get any court any time, so how is it possible? In my opinion The only way everyone to have equal chance of booking a court is to release the court randomly .Now We are forced to use a different centre & inconvenient time we don't want to use despite paying £65 per month. Today at rainbow centre we went to play badminton and there is group booked all 3 courts 6-8 pm taken over the centre having almost 30 people with loud music and distracting .The practice is only 4 people are allowed in a court but more than 30 people were there nobody checked on them.I asked the reception staff who was very helpful whether they have the permission to have this many people and they said they didn't given any permission and warned these group they can't have too many people sitting there but they ignored their order ,seems like even staff can't control them.I honestly don't understand as lot of people cancelling their membership as unable to get courts but no strict measure put in place.

Negative experience: Never try to book a party with these people….they clearly don’t need the business. Don’t answer the phone and return emails on an approx 7 day turnaround…rendering all previous information about availability etc out of date….really poor

Fantastic experience: Amazing soft play area. Behind a secure number coded entry door. Prices are very fair and selection of food and drinks is good.
