Better Gym Bournemouth

Positive experience: They have a lot of equipments, but most of them are old. Not much water stations or cleaning stuff to keep the equipment clean before used it. I was exciting to get the group classes, but nobody in the morning was exciting to do it, so as I was the only one interested I never done. Once I had a trouble to get in and the door bell did not worked and a lovely lady doing the exercises, notice my struggle and she reach one of the staffs for me. Unfortunately, we don't have good options near the Bournemouth station. This place has potential, but if keeps like this will fail soon.

Fantastic experience: Was wondering about joining this gym but had seen some poor (old) reviews about the cleanliness of the showers. I met Liv at the gym this morning who showed me round and reassured me. It looks clean, felt warm, nice music, and free Wi-Fi and lots of equipment!!! That’s me decided, I’m joining up Thank you Liv

Negative experience: The gym is ok, but there is a guy that smells TERRIBLE! I don’t exaggerate, he’s literally stinks! As I understood, he’s going to this gym for couple of years. The management doesn’t care about it, and they’ve been told about it many times. How poor is the management that couldn’t solve this problem☹️ Just an advice, if you’ll see that skunk, try to avoid your presence in the same environment, it’s for your own good

Positive experience: Decent as a gym for cardio or weight training. Weight room upstairs can be busy during peak times, but likewise as anywhere else. Lockable bike rails outside to clamp to. 3hour asda parking. Lots of lockers (padlock needed). Toilets and cleanliness in the mens changing room could improve, which is why i give 4 stars. Good overall

Fantastic experience: I have been a member here since November. It has no sauna or pool but it has enough machines to cover everything I need. The atmosphere in here is pretty good too.

Negative experience: I'm not very keen on this gym, it's a budget gym, but doesn't have a sauna, steam room etc. It's OK if you just want to work out and go, but I like the sauna, and swimming pool, and this doesn't have it. I think it's time for an upgrade better gym

Negative experience: I was memeber for around half year one time I forgot locker lock and was told I can borrow lock from trainers working there first trainer was very nice and polite but after I finished workout there was now trainer who was very condescending and bothered although he unlocked locker he told me next time "you are on my own and he is not gonna help me" it was literally my first time I asked trainer anything.

Positive experience: Gym is full of machines. Some are good some bad as rusty for constant cleaning. Ideal for cardio training. Weight zone is small and can be full during peak. Big studio available. Free 3h parking in Asda.

Positive experience: Solid Gym, a large improvement than my previous, everythings aligned nicely and its easy access to the gym via the app. I am going to be using this gym as my only use I am satisfied it has everything I need. Just wish the water fountain put out colder water.

Positive experience: I am happy I joined. Lot of space, different areas for free weights and machines (too many cardio for my taste). So far always clean and tidy, not like pure gym where you find weights everywhere or bars loaded with 50kg plus... Nice spacious changing room. Update: 3* short opening hours on bank holidays. Today, Friday 3rd it was open only for 4 hrs. Arrived 5minutes after opening and the gym was overcrowded! No joy to have a good workout when forcing so many people to fit in such a short period of time. Also air circulation was bad and didn't seem to be able to cover all that. Secondly, all but one sink in ladies toilets are not working, it's been like that for weeks.

Positive experience: Gets packed with students in the summer making it very difficult to follow any kind of routine. Staff are very chill and friendly though.

Positive experience: Great gym, equipment is socially distanced and the staff are friendly. There is a booking in service on their app which controls the amount of people able to attend during one slotted time. Just a note this gym has no swimming pool.

Positive experience: Only sticking with this place because of the Asda free parking and now they have boxing bags in the studio. Puregym and TheGym does not have a boxing bag, but this gym is bit dirty, everywhere. The guys changing room feels like never gets cleaned.

Fantastic experience: It's my favourite Gym in Bournemouth. Always clean and user friendly. Made a progress on my goals. I would recommend everyone go for it without any exception. I love spinning, especially with IVON. It's free of charge of all classes. Cheers.

Negative experience: The website doesn't work to make new memberships, neither the smartphone app. What else can I say it?

Negative experience: Despite claims of revamp/refurb of changes rooms, the truth is that virtually nothing was done to them. Still very iffy and of questionable hygiene levels. Sauna has never worked and has a bit of wood blocking the entrance? Often see people sweating all over equipment which is just left to dry onto units, i.e not cleaned. Other units have loads of dust and dirt on them. Music is quite simply a screeching noise and pray that a unit doesn't break...it will be Xmas before it is fixed. Up your hygiene levels.

Negative experience: Price went up from £12.99 to £17.99 within 18 months, WITHOUT NOTICE! Unacceptable, especially that some equipment is very dated, even though a whole refit was promised. Instead they've added more bikes and treadmills, and changed flooring. That's not a proper refit. Changing rooms and showers are still stuck in 90s era. Will be moving my butt somewhere else after 3 years of loyal custom.

Fantastic experience: Good gym for a low price. The gym has most of the equipment you’d want. It is a no frills kind of gym so no pool or sauna. But the facilities are nice and clean and there so no long contracts so you can cancel your membership anytime.

Fantastic experience: Great little gym friendly staff and fairly clean. Facial I'd scanner so now annoying codes to remember. Plenty of space in studio and on mats and machines are looked after well.

Negative experience: Cheapest gym in the area and it really shows in the quality. Machines they just put in are barely functioning, everything is worn to the point coverings are peeling, labels are flaking, and weights have rusted. Most of the treadmills are out of order and have been for months, machines are missing parts and make awful noises as they move. The layout of the gym is awful and makes a lot of areas uninviting and exclusive. Will be moving to another gym soon

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym after 2 days of arriving in Bournemouth, the staff are brilliant, always there to help if you have any problems, still enough space to train at peak times, very clean, the membership is also reasonable. Absolutley no complaints. Love the place. Enjoying training again

Negative experience: Closes early on weekends. 6pm. Equipment is often in need of repair - especially rowing and cycling machines. No one seems to do a daily check on equipment as I have often had to bring equipment problems to the attention of staff. Days and weeks can follow until repairs are made. This gym is usually favoured by young students. It is very local - else, I'd look for alternatives.

Positive experience: Is good

Fantastic experience: Really good gym. I like how the gym is segmented into departments, free weight room, body building room, machines, cardio and 'functional room' whereby there are weight sledges and alot of open space! The staff are awesome and make you feel at home with a personal trainer always onsite to give you tips. Moreover, the facilities offered are of modern spec with the vicinity being clean and tidy to a high standard. My only downfalls of this gym (very few), are the opening hours, I feel the gym would attract alot more consumers if the place was open 24hrs, local hyper-competition with budget-gym rivals offer flexibility for their customers. I don't see why this is an issue as BetterGym offers 'face recognition as part of its entry network. Other downfalls are the showers are not secluded, I personally like privacy when showering and I feel other members feel the same way (Refurbishment being enforced 2nd July 2018). Other than this, I would highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for casual fitness or for anybody wishing to get in shape whatever your fitness goals may be.

Positive experience: I like this gym. For £15 a month on a rolling contract you can’t really go wrong. Recently revamped, it’s got a functional room (see pic) that you can always use even when classes are on which is great for HIIT training (other low priced gyms should take note). It’s also clean and nicely laid out. Only down point is lack of weights in the functional room and the early closing times on weekends; shutting at 8pm instead of 6pm would be beneficial.

Negative experience: Gym very small and is overloaded!!! So many people over there. It is just .. impossible. I couldn't breath there anymore. Not many classes available.. overloaded is the term

Positive experience: Staff members are very friendly, helpful and polite. The GYM is good however like other cheap gyms it can be very saturated at peak times often causing some delays on the machines, most gym goers will not mind sharing if you ask.
