Negative experience: Pools great but there is no ventilation in the changing area which is making the whole ceiling and all the walls fill with black mould, also there is no changing cubicles at all so if you're with kids swimming it can be quite awkward. Won't be returning

Negative experience: Not great equipment for building muscle, no lat pulldown or seated row? The spa was very busy and I can understand why people get stressed about parking fines

Fantastic experience: I used to work in this club as a cleaner, I loved this place an met great manager an a great team at the time, I kept this place spotless, reviewers always pointed out clean an spotless, I wasn’t just a cleaner, I done bit painting bit fixing, I was a 5 star cleaner, the best!! but I had passion in what I was doing, as I was personally nuts about keeping fit at the time, had my own personal gym at home, it’s sad to see some of the reviews that people have written over cleanest, anyway it’s a great club, many good memories, wishing only the best for this place Martina, xx ,

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of Choices gym for a couple of years now and the staff are always friendly and a great choice of gym equipment. Also a brilliant selection of classes, I go to kettlebells and pump a couple of times a week with Adam, they are tough but always leave feeling great

Negative experience: We came to enjoy a nice swim whilst on our holiday. Based on the website, the photos online and the price of £12 a swim, we were expecting somewhere lovely and we were bitterly disappointed. The gym is completely run down and the pool was murky and left a film on our skin. The changing rooms were the saddest part of the visit being filthy and the facilities having not had any attention since the 80s. It was actually a grim experience. The guy on reception was friendly and helpful, that was the only positive thing we could say. I wish we would have known what to expect so we could have made a better decision about where to go.

Fantastic experience: “People make places” The staff at Choices gym really do make the place. From Adam the manager who gives off real positive energy to Jade who is efficient and never stops walking around the gym, my partner calls Jade the engine of choices. Nadine is always working hard in her classes, Dale has come into Choices and hit the ground running, his infectious smile goes a long way, he also has given me and my partner some brilliant nutrition advice. Libby the apprentice is going to go far in the fitness industry, she brings calm to a place where people put themselves through pain, Kalum keeps the classes rolling and is a familiar face in a hectic world. Mads is a super member of staff who always motivates my partner to do more. Choices is a great community. If senior management are reading this, constructive criticism, new back machine? Have so much space and a new machine would go a long way x

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Choices. Less than 10 minute drive in the car and I'm there. Brilliant staff and a brilliant timetable to suit everyones needs. Love the pool area and Sauna, steam and Jacuzzi which are immaculately clean along with the changing rooms. Added bonus now they have added a Coffee Machine in Reception, absolutely fabulous idea. Keep up the Good Work Team Choices.

Negative experience: Gross! Far more cleaning needed- floors were filthy and covered in hair, drains overflowing, jacuzzi broken. Changing room was very weird, hardly anywhere to put kit not on the floor. Much room for improvement!

Fantastic experience: Choices gym is fantastic and staff are amazing! They really have created a great gym Community and this makes me want train when I don’t feel like it. This has also lead to me encouraging friends to join. I carry injuries and the staff have been great in helping me with designing training programs to work around my injuries, and to make sure I don’t exacerbate them. Adam and team are always happy and upbeat when you go in. Keep up the good work guys

Negative experience: This company waited until my son was 18, and then sent his account to a debt collector despite him going to the gym twice so he could share his bank statements proving that he had fully paid.

Fantastic experience: I have only quite recently started going here after quite a break from any form of fitness training. So far I have really enjoyed the classes. They are professionally run and the staff are always friendly and polite. The facilities are well kept and clean. Although I have a long way to go to get back into shape, I think I will continue my journey here at Choices. See you all soon!

Fantastic experience: Great gym and daily classes, staff are fab and offer a varied class timetable. Staff and clients friendly and a relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of free parking always available

Fantastic experience: We have been members of Choices in Windermere for about a year now. Adam is the General Manager and a great fitness Coach. He runs the Gym and spa area with the help of Jade the assistant Manager and an amazing team. We go to the superb daily classes and use the well equipped and spotlessly clean gym floor. Both myself and my wife have seen great and lasting results in our fitness and our bodies are transformed!! We also take advantage of the PT instruction that really helps with diet and technique. Our current PT is Nadeen who was a former woman’s body builder and guides our fitness plan. Classes also held by Kallum , Madi and Jade make up the team not forgetting Libby who also always welcomes us with a smile there is also a pool , sauna, steam room and hot tubs.

Fantastic experience: Very clean facility, luxurious Pool and Spa, Classes are challenging but fun, great friendly staff! Highly Recommended!

Negative experience: bathroom hadnt been cleaned all day, no water available in steam room, no benches in the changing room, wifi didn't work - even the staff laughed at how the place is falling to bits.

Positive experience: Got a pass through a place I was staying at in Bowness. The health club was really nice, quiet and a great place to go to have fun and let off steam. Lovely sauna and jacuzzi area.

Positive experience: £10 for an all day pass to do anything we wanted! Sauna was great according to the people I came with. (I didn’t go in myself though) Pool was amazing, enjoyed the coloured lights and very warm water, wonderful after a cold November day! I wish I didn’t need to use a £6 padlock to lock the lockers, though, a bit cash-grabby. Also, there was no cubicles in either of the changing rooms, I had to hide in a corner behind some locker doors, not convenient. (If it says there is one, it’s a baby-changing area that you can’t shut the door of, because it locks you in) Lights in the pool were falling out, which didn’t look safe… Despite the inconveniences, overall definitely worth the money, and I enjoyed my time there.

Fantastic experience: My twins had they're first ever swimming lesson and the guys there were amazing! Proper patient with each child. It brought out the kids confidence big time! So happy!!

Positive experience: Great facilities, and a warm welcome and free parking

Positive experience: Visiting the club as a guest of a local B&B I was welcomed in by the receptionist, shown how to sign in to avoid paying parking, and pointed in the direction of the different facilities. The changing rooms did not have cubicles, and required pad locks if you wanted to keep your belongings safe. Other than that, the showers were nice, and directions were clear. The pool was pleasantly warm, and surprisingly not busy following a Bank Holiday. The jacuzzi and sauna topped the experience, what a way to unwind after a long day of hiking! Even for the fee, the experience is great and worth it. Although I would recommend phoning in for the hours as they did differ on a Bank Holiday.

Negative experience: Pool when busy becomes unbearably loud due to being a small enclosed space with low ceiling. Man on reception didn't know what "lane swim only" meant when I asked if this was ever available. No padlocks available to buy so had to leave valuables unlocked and hope for the best. Zero changing cubicles so having to hide under a towel. Otherwise okay experience.

Positive experience: Nice leisure centre with ok facilities, used their spa, the sauna and steam were nice but the jacuzzi was cold unfortunately. There is also ice and a cold shower to refresh. The pool was nice and possibly slightly warmer than the jacuzzi! The changing rooms are ok, plenty of space but no private areas to change except one small room which has the baby changing area so not really an adult changing area. One of the showers wasnt working properly, had to keep it pressed to get any water. Parking is available and is free if you are using the centre, you just need to give them your license plate number. If not using the centre then the machines only accept coins not cards.

Positive experience: I have only used the gym, so I can't comment on the other facilities. I also didn't use the shower or toilets. It was £10 for a day pass for the gym, which seems expensive, but it is in line with what most gyms are charging now. I also had to pay for the car park, which was £2. The reception area is well laid out, and the staff were friendly. The gym itself is a good size, but it does have a lack of diversity in the machine, which are all stack and pin, not plate loaded. There is only 1 smiths machine, 1 cable machine, and 1 of each of the assisted weight machines. I feel that with the space available, they could have more machines and a greater variety.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service, the pool was closed after a few minutes of arriving with no apology or compensation, to top it off I have received a parking fine even though I paid and displayed. Make a wiser choice, don't visit Choices!

Positive experience: Pool and spa were decent, though there were some problems that put the pool out of use and none of the staff had a clue what the problem was, even when it was eventually fixed after a couple of days. The bloke on reception was monosyllabic and honestly just this side of rude.

Positive experience: Friendly guy on Reception. Changing rooms have only one partitioned room in which to change, doubling as baby-change area. Not many options to perch your bag etc. Broken bits in changing room & steam room give unkept appearance. Can only comment on changing room and spa area.

Positive experience: Visited for an afternoon whilst on holiday in the area, it was £10 for a day pass. Great place to relax and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The place needs a little bit of TLC but overall would recommend going, as the facilities are good! Pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym

Negative experience: Don’t get any subscription with this gym. Had to pay 2 months after I requested the cancellation.

Positive experience: The swimming lessons were great, but the changing rooms were awful. Dirty, nappy bin overflowing. Toilet out of order and showers so hot you couldn't possibly put a child under them!

Negative experience: Having used this leisure centre before while on holiday, I wanted to bring my son to swim on 24th Oct. I called the centre on 23rd to check opening times etc. and was very disappointed by the customer service. The phone was answered with 'hello', no 'hello, choices leisure' or similar so I had to confirm I had rung the correct place. It was then like trying to get blood out of a stone when I asked about public swimming on the Sun. I asked whether there was public swimming on Sunday and got a simple 'yes' as the answer. I queried opening times for the pool and was told 9am to 5pm. On the Sunday, I arrived at 9.45am with my 7 year old, only to be told 'you can't go in with kids until 10.30am'. Young man on reception couldn't have been less interested in the fact that the information I had been given was wrong, no apology, nothing. Very disappointing service - in the end, we didn't bother. We will use the hotel at Newby Bridge in future.

Negative experience: Really poor customer service - interrupted, ignored and chastised by staff at reception. Facilities adequate. Would not return.

Negative experience: Ad hoc visit whilst on holiday. Had to pay full price for all teens which was very expensive (£10 to swim and use spa area), but then u16s not allowed in spa etc. If you're gonna charge full price then let them use facilities, If not then charge them as kids. Ripped off.

Negative experience: Shocking customer service, the attitude of the receptionist was a joke, non helpful,non welcoming.

Negative experience: Called the day before to book pool access and informed that booking was not required as there had never been a problem with the pool being full. Tried to call ahead on the day, but no answer. Arrived to be told there was an hour wait. We weren't allowed to wait safely elsewhere and come back, we had to wait indoors in the lobby with a group of other people, completely unacceptable in the current pandemic. Staff member very unhelpful, unpleasant and unwilling to help.

Fantastic experience: Amazing customer service, made to feel very welcome. Lots of selection in the gym, sauna, spa. Brilliant staff and excellent swimming pool. Exceptional swimming teachers with piranha swimming school.

Fantastic experience: A very welcoming and comfortable experience, staff are friendly and helpful and for a change we have a gym with good Wifi! Leisure areas are very relaxing and never seem over crowded and the gym is spacious and clean. An all round great experience!

Negative experience: Never again, lady on reception was arrogant. I just wanted use solarium, after our conversation I changed my mind because of how she been talking to me. If you want to kill your business employ her ‍♂️

Negative experience: Was actually our first and last visit!!!! I never saw that dirty solarium ! And the lady on the reception was incredible arrogant, I just asked her if we can use “tanning beds” I always use this question in London, Kendal every where I been, and she started laughing, alright, pardon me, I’m not British and my English is not that good as I wish, but I can talk, that’s important for me. We visited this place because is near from our place where we are working and a few colleagues recommended us this place. As well we wanted start gym there but with this what we saw and the staff .... uffff no way.

Positive experience: Went to a couple of aqua classes in the last couple of days as a non member. Classes are very expensive for just 30 minutes. The extra I paid for a full day pass was a bit much on top of the £8 for the class it wasn't much but if you've paid for a class surely you can use the other facilities i.e. Sauna steam room and jacuzzi which was actually waiting for a repair and was cold. Will have to think seriously before deciding weather to join

Fantastic experience: What a fabulous new leisure facility. The gym is brilliant and full of all different types of equipment. Lots of classes in an air conditioned studio and the wet area is stunning. Separate Spa, Roman Sauna, Steamroom and Ice fountain. The swimming pool is quite superb... I can 100% recommend this place...
