Fantastic experience: The Lantern Clinic I consider myself extremely fortunate to have found Dr. Margarita Kitova-John. For many years, I have struggled with a chronic health condition, and unfortunately, I have been consistently let down by our NHS professionals. It is incredibly refreshing to engage in thoughtful, in-depth discussions about my health—where all aspects, including diet, lifestyle, and natural supplements, are carefully considered. This level of attention is something that is simply not possible within the constraints of a typical 10-minute NHS GP or consultant appointment. If you are facing challenges with your health and are seeking real solutions, I highly recommend speaking with Dr. Margarita.

Fantastic experience: Dr Margarita Kitova is a kind, caring and supportive doctor. I first met her after another cancer diagnosis and she was a breath of fresh air. I felt safe in her care and she is my source of inspiration. She listens and never rushes me during a consultation. I have the continuity of care that I was hoping for and deserved. She looks at the whole person and in a holistic way alongside necessary conventional medicine. She has empowered me to have some control of my health. I would strongly recommend her!

Fantastic experience: The Lantern Clinic (Dr Kitova-John) is in the Phoenix Centre. A recent face to face session here I found a comfortable and useful experience as we were able to easily discuss my needs in a pleasant quiet environment. Her skills at helping me with my requirements as a patient combined with the depth of knowledge she has, give confidence and practical help.

Fantastic experience: Finding the Lantern Clinic has literally changed my life. After a challenging cancer battle 3 years ago, I was left with stomach problems that really affected my day to day life. Despite various trips back and forth to the doctor, I never got an answer or solution to my issues and was told this was my ‘new life’ and I was lucky to be alive. A friend had recommended Dr Margarita at the Lantern Clinic and as a last resort I got in touch. I had never considered functional medicine before and if I’m honest was skeptical. From the very first meeting with Dr Margarita, I could see how interested she was in helping. She took the most thorough history of my health I think I have ever had, looking at my diet, lifestyle, medical history. She devised a protocol of supplements that I thought were strange to say the least, but I trusted the process and gave it my all. At first, taking so many tablets a day was scary, and I really didn’t have much faith that tablets like oregano and berberine etc. would do anything, but within 2 months my symptoms that had plagued me for years, had slowly subsided. Margarita also recommended a gluten free diet which has reduced my bloated stomach, returned my dry skin back to what it was pre cancer, and helped me lose weight. I am now on a maintenance plan and am looking forward to improving my overall health further. What a breath of fresh air to finally talk to one person who has the experience of being a GP but looks at each person as an individual and who supports you through every stage of the changes you need to make, both holistically and medically.

Fantastic experience: Dr Margarita made me feel so relived to be able to talk about my health issues, feel I know I am in good hands. At all times she is very caring and understanding, with a wealth of knowledge she is eager share to enable me to be understand my body to live a healthier life style, you can read about starting a healthy life style but nothing is like one to one care that Dr Margarita offers.

Negative experience: I cant comment on the gym, pool bar or restaurant as I have only visited the little shop which I have to say was a not very well stocked even before it closed down. I have popped in a few times since it reopened about 5/6 weeks ago and half the shelves are empty with only a very small selection of red wine which is the main reason for my visit. The shelves where they used to be now have a shutter over them. Theres a slightly better selection of white wine which is a plus if you prefer white wine! Also disappointed the eggs I found were not fresh local produce but from what I assume a factory farm where the label says RSPCA approved and free range which I suspect is false labelling. I noticed the eggs they had before it closed were from a local farm and bit expensive but I don't mind paying bit extra for cruelty free eggs, also we should be supporting local businesses. The shop is ok if you just need very basic stuff like milk, butter, sugar, coffee/tea, can o beans, soup, tomatoes etc and if nowhere else open!!

Negative experience: This place is more of a housing estate than a holiday village,bungalow was roomy and just about passable for a holiday let,hardly any furniture and what was there not very practical,for a holiday let I would advise to look elsewhere you will be very disappointed if not.

Positive experience: Gurnard Pines has lovely Centre with bar with good food, swimming pool and shop. It is surrounded with interesting mature woodland. It's narrow roads and parking arrangements are difficult when there is a function on. But overall very good.

Fantastic experience: This is a fabulous place for all ages to stay . Well equipped rooms and the accommodation has everything there a family need you just need your grocery. I want to thank you all very much for our stay with friends it was brilliant. And thank Isle of Wight and the people all over the island that lives there . be proud of your island because we are it's a fabulous place and want to thank everyone for your hospitality and wish everyone and everywhere the very best

Positive experience: Very quiet did not use facilities so can not comment, the place we rented was very nice with a lot of work recently been done to it. There is work being done on other areas of the site but none of this was close to us so did not affect us.

Negative experience: Very disappointing site for a week stay. We could not find the playground for the children, the outdoor pool has been removed and the site it self is very tired. The google images mis sell the site. The only redeeming feature is the friendly staff in the shop. The site has great potential but it is not there yet.

Fantastic experience: Santa's grotto from the 15th December at Reilly's Restaurant, Gurnard Pines. Fresh take-away fish and chips on a Friday and Saturday 5pm-9pm and Sunday Carvery 1pm to 5pm.

Jules has just taken over the restaurant Rilley's and we enjoyed eating in there tonight. It is a lovely base to visit the island. Unfortunately the site does not have the mass of holiday facilities it had 10 years and more ago but it is still nice and has a large indoor pool and tennis courts etc. We still like it

Negative experience: I have been trying to get through to Gurnard for nearly a week and the phone line is out of order. I tried e-mailing and the e-mails bounced back. Does anyone know what is happening here?

Negative experience: The only things to do here on the site is to join the Gym .They wanted £21 per person !!!A lot to pay when you have Two teenagers!!!No bar in the evening no food as well .You can get food and drink 10am to 4pm only.Out side pool is not open for humans.But in use for wildlife lol !!.The pond is no more just a large group or trees and Wasps !!!The place is run down and looking like benefit Street .But the shop is loving and well stocked x
