Our comment from FitFit UK about Lifestyles Fitness Centre - Everton Park:
Welcome to Lifestyles Fitness Centre - Everton Park, located in Liverpool, United Kingdom. This sports center boasts a friendly atmosphere with a dedicated staff, making it a place where you can feel part of a community.
Key features include:
- Swimming Pool: An Olympic-sized pool that is warm and inviting, ideal for families, as children swim for free.
- Affordable Membership: The platinum membership provides access to badminton and squash courts, along with the swimming pool and gym, offering great value for money.
- Aqua Fit Classes: Highly praised classes led by enthusiastic instructors, making workouts enjoyable.
However, there are some areas needing improvement:
- Changing facilities have been noted as outdated and in need of a thorough cleaning and maintenance.
- Swimming pool hours are somewhat restrictive, particularly for those with standard working hours.
- Occasional overcrowding during peak times can hinder the swimming experience.
Overall, while there are aspects to be addressed, many visitors appreciate the welcoming staff and the range of activities available, making it a recommended choice for fitness and leisure.

Lifestyles Fitness Centre - Everton Park: Opinions
Negative experience: Swimming Pool is nice but the opening times are quite restrictive, could do with more sessions spread evenly throughout the day/ week, some sessions get delayed also turning a 1 hour swim session into 30 minutes. Changing rooms (men’s) are awful, full of limescale and stinks of urine, the toilets are disgusting and do not get cleaned properly/ regularly, not pleasant to get changed in at all.
Fantastic experience: Good squash court
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and neighbourhood platinum membership is a great deal to opt for. You have access to book Badminton & Squash courts and to use the swimming pool & Gym along with other activities as per their schedule. Few activities will cost extra on top of the membership but most of them are free to access. One drawback is no swimming class for adults at this centre.
Positive experience: Nice team.
Negative experience: Been swimming here for about a year now. Very dated facilities but the pool is quite good and does the job if it's open when you can get there. The problem is the times are quite restrictive. Opens at 7:30am which is just too late to get a swim in before work. It's only open in the evening past 6:30pm 3 times a week so there's basically 3 sessions a week anyone with normal working hours can make it. No swim on Saturday. I've also sometimes gone and there's no lane ropes out despite them usually being there and even though 5+ of us are trying to swim lengths. A few of us asked about the ropes as people were getting in our way just standing in the middle of the pool and we were told it's not a "training pool", whatever that is. Swimming lengths is a completely normal way to use a swimming pool and 4 lanes only take up half the pool, leaving enough room for everyone so I see no reason why they shouldn't always be out. I've never gone to the pool where there hasn't been people swimming lengths (or trying to) so removing the ropes makes no sense. There's a few regulars who think once they've got a lane it's theirs to keep and refuse to swim in circles to allow more than 2 people in a lane. The lifeguards refuse to get involved and say it's a "public swim" so they can't tell people how to swim. So apparently people can treat it like their private pool. Seems like the lifeguards don't want to rock the boat with the regulars. Either that, or they're mates, or they just don't care. But a public pool means it needs to be shared by all and swimming circles is how it happens in any other pool I've ever been to in the world. No one can refuse to share a lane with someone. I've paid to enter but I can't swim, ridiculous.
Positive experience: Good monthly price swimming pool. And decent little gym
Fantastic experience: Friendly and great services. It will sadden me of the council do away with this when more than 300 children swim here each week.
Fantastic experience: Boss swimming in here
Positive experience: Aqua fit was excellent and value for money car park was packed to capacity but plenty of parking near by
Fantastic experience: Went to swim with the kids, each section is 1hr, kids swim for free, adults have to pay, sorry didn't get the prize , would do next time and the place is clean compared to the negatives reviews I saw online before going there, great staffs and friendly receptionist too, the changing area too is clean, now you can use a basket and carry your things into the swimming area than using the lockers, generally it was a great experience, would visit again
Fantastic experience: Great staff and great atmosphere
Positive experience: Old, could do with a lick of paint, but good facilities on my doorstep and great monthly price, can't really fault it
Positive experience: It's ok, starting to look at bit rundown
Positive experience: Is not clean
Fantastic experience: Clean and nice place . İt is a good place to spend rainy days
Fantastic experience: The whole family had a great time using their pool for 1 hour. Only adults had to pay, while kids got to enjoy the pool for free. The staff were very welcoming and polite. Life guards were also very polite and kind while communicating with those who were breaking the rules while using the pool. Overall, I highly recommend it, just make sure to check the schedule online.
Positive experience: The Place looks alright. Have a great sise pool that unfortunately is really limited in what hours of the day and days of the week it is possible to use it. If it would not be for that it would be a 5* center. It does also have a gym (also open on specific hours during the day) and loads of different varieties of classes to follow.
Fantastic experience:
Fantastic experience: The reception staff and particularly Rachel is zo welcoming. Highly recommended to join and feel part of the Lifestyles visitors
Fantastic experience: The people are very friendly and helpful. However, it closes too early at the weekend.
Fantastic experience: Excellent
Positive experience: Bit run down I'm afraid but bonus is that it still has the swimming pool
Fantastic experience:
Positive experience: I've gone to Everton Park for nearly 30 years on & off, first time though that I've been to the Thursday night Aquafit class at 7pm in at least 3 years as I usually go to Alsop nowadays. I tell you what though I won't be going back to their Tuesday classes anymore as Sarah in the Everton Park class was absolutely amazing, literally the best aquafit class I've ever done, it was a really good work out by an instructor who genuinely felt invested in you & not bored out of her tree! Jason & Sam also do excellent aquafit classes Mondays & Fridays at Alsop. Everton is looking very tired now but cleaner than Alsop. One thing I love about Lifestyles is it really has a community spirit. Most of the staff are brilliant, Colin is an absolute credit to you, his classes are great & he is very dedicated. I'm enjoying exercise for the first time in my life. Small moan - Please fix the lockers in Everton Park & the cubicles in Alsop don't all lock & can you please open the female only changing rooms, you often have to queue in Alsop it's that busy! otherwise amazing value for money. Thank you
Positive experience: Good value for swimming .. always crowded though can barely swim when in the adult swim, no system in place for overcrowding and booking ahead literally means nothing But the thing that brings you back is the the staff are lovely .. life guards are always there and in high spirits which is the redeeming quality
Negative experience: Swimming pool staff are very rude especially Manager and one girl they never listen to you when you speak just have bad behave and force you to listen I’m not happy and not go there again shameless experienc
Negative experience: Needs a serious amount of money spent on poolside. It's chipped no lockers for belongings. Awful ...staff are really nice but won't be going again .
Negative experience: Been going here for years, but new receptionist refused to let me in because I could not prove I had received trying on the machines. Let all the fat women in though
Fantastic experience: Facilities are great and the staff are even better!!
Negative experience: It was OK before the pandemic. During the pandemic, it was closed 2020 up to recently. Usually opens 7 days a week, Now it's half open for gymnasium. Sunday closed. Gymnasium opens 8 to 12 noon. Then open 4 pm to 9 pm. There is no explanation why this centre only half opens while other centres e.g. alsop, ellergreen are fully opened.
Fantastic experience: Best place
Positive experience: Starting to look a little bit dated but most of the facilities are still first class
Negative experience: It's never open according to its opening hours, seems to just open and shut whenever
Positive experience: Friendly staff, very helpful
Fantastic experience: Good
Positive experience: Staff are lovely and helpful...building back classes and the equipment is up to date... Great place
Fantastic experience: Staff are really helpful and polite
Fantastic experience: Boss
Fantastic experience: nice place to bring the kids
Fantastic experience: Loved it!
Positive experience: Parking is shared with the school next door without permission so the car park is sometimes full and there may be a wait for a space if the place is taken by some one from the school then that place will be occupied for 8 hours they have been asked to use their own 44 bay car park but this has fallen on deaf ears
Positive experience: Had to stop coming here was never open and on the website it says it is was a great gym but I've had to go elsewhere
Fantastic experience: Brilliant baths and facilities esp for all service users
Negative experience: Only went to lose membership lol
Fantastic experience: Very clean and organized place..machines always spot on..a shame that cant find the right time for the classes I'm interest in..will get there..
Negative experience: Takes 8-10 calls per week just to book a footy pitch. Central call centre for all Lifestyles gyms are very nice but Everton Lifestyles rarely answer their phone, or answer & hang up, or take your number & never call back. Why is there no direct number? It's poor service.
Negative experience: The most horrible place that you can be.
Fantastic experience: Great place to have physical activities... It has Gym, Swimming, Badminton and Squash..
Fantastic experience: Friendly gym with very helpful staff.
Positive experience: Nice staff
Positive experience: Good gym
Negative experience: Got a swim membership a few weeks back. The locals are so cliqueEEE in here! It's like the territorial army guarding their waters! The same group of people go at the same time everyday, and literally bully people! Big grown adults! I seen a women get terrorized last week! ...and the staff were in on it! What an absolute disgrace! Everyone has a right to a peaceful swim in a public pool! I'm going to write to the authorities about what I witnessed, because anyone that can treat a member of the public that way does not deserve to work there. Couldn't believe what I was seeing bless the woman's heart. ....she kept trying to take no notice and carry on swimming, and they got louder and more crude and disrespectful! The lifeguard was so involved with them he wasn't even monitoring the safety of others in the pool! Anyone could have drowned while he was busy being a bully with his regular recruits! Liverpool City Council here I come! Time to name and shame
Positive experience: Pools are quieter in the evening. Would like more heating in the changing rooms..lockers are at the pool side (which can be confusing).
Negative experience: Some staff a bit funny with foreigners
Negative experience: The most disgusting and vile place I have ever known. The changing facilities are sickening. There was poo left in a changing cubicle. There was no toilet paper (knowing they were expecting hundreds of people for a swim gala) It isn't just very old and tired it's absolutely horrendous. How people can work there or allow that place to be open to the public is amazing - the children were genuinely upset about having to go there to get changed. Matted hair in the sinks and on the floor, rubbish everywhere, mould, grime, it smelt dirty, it was absolutely horrific - avoid at all costs
Fantastic experience: Always personable staff xxxxxxxx
Negative experience: Arrived for booked 60 minute slot on the court for badminton, no staff in sight, once got hold of someone we were told there is no badminton on Saturdays. We showed the staff the confirmation of the booking and after some waiting the net was set up leaving us with about 30 minutes of playtime. The changing facilities were filthy as well, definitely not coming back.
Negative experience: Vile gym - outdated and dirty. Gym equipment rusted & slow, changing rooms has plaster hanging & falling off the ceiling, showers/toilets with MOLD and GRIME!!! The smell in the whole place hits you as soon as you walk in of sewers....its GRIM!
Fantastic experience: Love to swim here as large Olympic size pool and lovely and warm unlike Kirkby where you have to break through the ice in order to swim!! Always found the cleanliness very good here unlike Queens Drive swimming pool. Relaxed and friendly staff and patrons. Very enjoyable.
Fantastic experience: Good
Negative experience: No basketball court even though the website said they had it
Fantastic experience: I come here to swim. The water is very, very warm. The showers, unlike in most local authority leisure centers stay on for more then a couple of seconds after pressing the button. I have always found the people here, customers and staff to be very personable.
Fantastic experience: The best sports centre in Liverpool, friendly and helpful staff
Negative experience: might aswell of had a swim in the mersey river , dirty changing rooms , staff just could n't care less .
Negative experience: Awful on a grand scale !!
Negative experience: One of the most depressing attempts of a gym, if you could call it that!
