Positive experience: I recently enjoyed a spa day at the Ashford International Hotel, booked through Spa Seekers for £49 per person. The package included one treatment, a light lunch, use of the facilities, and a glass of prosecco. My friend and I chose the back, shoulder, and head massage. While the back massage was relaxing, we were disappointed to find that no head massage was included, which felt misleading based on the description. We requested our lunch for 1:45 PM as we needed to leave in time for the school pick-up. Unfortunately, it arrived late, which was inconvenient. When it did arrive, the food was delicious but the portions were quite small. The facilities were nice but compact. There’s a pool, though it was occupied by a water aerobics class for an hour around midday, a small hot tub, a steam room, a sauna, and a dimly lit relaxation room. However, the spa and changing rooms could use some attention. The tiles, in particular, are dated and in need of an update to enhance the overall experience. One downside was parking. Although parking is free, Spa Seekers didn’t inform us, so we ended up paying £10 (£5 each for 5 hours), which could have been avoided with clearer communication. Overall, the day was enjoyable, but there were a few frustrations. For the price, it was decent value, but better communication, updated facilities, and improved timing would have made it more memorable. I’d rate the experience 7/10.

Positive experience: Had a spa day here. Very reasonable price. The spa facilities are basic and a bit dated and it’s a shared pool with members. The food took over half an hour to come even though it was pre ordered but was well worth the wait and they catered well for allergies. We had our massage treatments by Eleanor and she was absolutely amazing! By far one of the best massages we’ve had, she was polite, courteous and very professional throughout, an absolute credit to the Spa. Thankyou Eleanor

Negative experience: We visited this establishment with the family for christmas dinner there was 11 of us to start with the table was far too small for the number of people, staff were helpful when required. Dinner was self service to food unfortunatly was very dissapointing for the price paid per person (adult £85 child £42.50). Plates cold to start when we got back to the table after getting our dinner we found that also the food was barely warm and alot to be desired the beef was very tough and fatty potatoes dry, yorkshire puddings tasted funny, leaving all of us leaving the majority of our dinner after a few mouthfuls and our bellys some what empty. Which is a shame as this was our first family xmas dinner out the house and we was really looking forward to it being all together, unfortunatly we will not be booking here again due to the sheer dissapointment.

Negative experience: We’ve stayed there annually for the last 8 years. Unfortunately this is was the last time we will be doing so. We booked a 1 night spa stay which included 50 minute treatment use of spa and £32 dinner voucher The spa - There were a lot of children in the pool, I feel the hotel should have separate times for spa users and hotel users. There was also a creepy guy who would join the spa pool whenever 2 women entered it. When I was in the spa pool he kept positioning himself over the jets and made us feel so uncomfortable that we left the spa area and went to wait for our treatments. I tried to report his behaviour but there was no one around. The treatment - I’ve always enjoyed my treatments but the therapist I had felt very unprofessional. They didn’t ask if the pressure of the massage was ok, even though my back was knotted they made no attempt to relieve any knots and just continued with the routine. When it came to my facial, there was no headband placed so all the products went into my hair and dripped down my neck. The food - again the food has always been lovely hence why we have returned so many times, but the food received we just couldn’t eat. We had pork belly that was so tough it couldn’t be cut let alone chewed and lots of left over Christmas veg. We mentioned this to the staff and they gave a 50% discount off the main meal. However as we already had £32 towards food and hadn’t used all £32 the discount was pointless. The bar - nice area, comfy seats and pool table. However we only had 2 drinks as it was impossible getting served. Most of the time the bar was unmanned and we had to wait until a member of staff popped through. The rooms - They’re clean and Tidy. However we did not sleep as they were sooooo hot. The radiator was on full heat and could not be altered as the thermostat valve was stuck. We tried to put the air con onto 16 degrees but it was not working. Breakfast - we walked out. Tried to have a cup of tea but all the hot water stations were empty. Tried the coffee but it was cold. Hot breakfast was undercooked bacon, sausage that was still pink inside, eggs swimming in oil, dry baked beans and oil bread. Such a shame. We have enjoyed many spa break here but it’s time to move on. We feel so disappointed with our anniversary trip. We tried to raise these issues upon check out but after 10 minutes waiting at the in manned reception desk we chose to use the express check out instead.

Positive experience: Overall good experience with this hotel. However there is one problem worth pointing out. At breakfast, one of the two coffee machines was not working. It was shown as “machine heating up” on the display panel for the whole time I was there. People were standing and waiting for it to work but it is obviously out of order. The other coffee machine has a big queue of people waiting to make their coffee. Staff has noticed the problem but nothing was done about it. I asked a staff for a coffee to be made in view of the situation and was ignored. I ended up queuing at the working one and managed to make a cup of coffee. But it took a long time. For £15 a buffet style breakfast it is quite disappointing.

Negative experience: Disappointing! I have been to Christmas parties here before and this one was booked on the strength of the previous. What a difference! No atmosphere. You wouldn’t know it was Christmas. Previous year have had extensive decorations and been well attended. This year about 6 tables and a small disco. It could have been any time of year. No Christmassy feels at all

Due to change in safety regulations we are no longer permitted to have the corridor of Christmas trees but all other decorations are the same as historically. Fantastic experience: The hotel itself was gorgeous however the service was exeptional. We were not allowed with the dog in the restaurant and the staff went an extra mile to make sure we all enjoy our breakfast. The breakfast itself was extremely delicious and so many options. This hotel was booked extremely last minute and we were so glad to finally find a hotel that was pet friendly. Although we had a super short stay, it was amazing. Thank you so much to everyone.

Negative experience: We booked a room a few weeks ago as we stay at this hotel when we come to Ashford to visit family and friends, we received a phone call today informing us that they had cancelled our booking because they had an event on that week. This is a disgusting way to treat customers, you have been warned, a good hotel with the morals of an ally cat, we'll take your money but only until a better offer comes along.

Negative experience: Very central and close to everything. However, I definitely regret not booking a Travelodge or Premier-Inn - in hindsight, that would've been more comfortable. The pillows were like lying on tissue paper; just extremely uncomfortable and couldn't get anymore than a couple of hours sleep, there were scuff/picked off paint(?) marks in my room above the light switch, and there were a couple of instances whereby I saw dust and uncleanliness. Furthermore, I had to wait around 20-30 minutes JUST to find somebody to serve me at the lounge bar. Fortunately, the food didn't take long to arrive and was probably the only positive of my stay. Would probably rather sleep rough in the future.

Fantastic experience: Best accessible hotel in Ashford. Right next to the M20. Remember to put your car reg no into the terminal in reception to avoid a PCN.

Fantastic experience: I stayed at the hotel on 14th November. This hotel is absolutely amazing. Staff are friendly and professional. The rooms were immaculate and clean. They have an AMAZING Gym and Spa. I was part of a group travelling from Dover the next day. It was totally an amazing experience I will definitely be staying again ❤❤❤

Positive experience: Nice hotel for a night or 2 good parking and decent facilities if you fancy a swim or using the gym. Food is nice, but not much atmosphere in the bar area. Breakfast was standard buffet fayre.

Negative experience: Came to the hotel for a quick swim and sauna today. First off the reception team in the Spa were lovely. Very accommodating, explained the pool and changing room layout very well and made us feel very welcome. After using the facilities I had a shower and was disappointed to find mold in the grouting and sealant of the men’s showers. I get it’s a wet area constantly but I shouldn’t be seeing this no matter where I am. Came out and both me and my friend were feeling fairly peckish so we went to the bar and ordered a Bacon and Brie with Cranberry Panini each. Came out fairly quickly but almost stone cold. The cheese wasn’t nearly melted enough and the humus wasn’t even on the board. I don’t like sending back food but in this instance I had to. It was the same for my friend. Ahkram (hope I’ve spelt that correctly) bless him was on bar shift at the time and clearly could’ve done with some help. We watched one bloke que for 15 minutes before eventually giving up and going back to wherever it was he came from. Ahkram was very apologetic to myself and understanding. Genuinely lovely guy. However, we ended up waiting nearly another 30 minutes for what is essentially a hot sandwich. Not sure what was going on back there but surely that could’ve been done quicker. When it did eventually arrive, it was indeed hot, but it still didn’t reflect the price. It’s a shame to see the hotel still not upholding its 4 star status. I used to work there and worked with some amazing lovely people, and if it wasn’t for them and instead had been run by some mediocre staff, the building would be another boarded up pile of bricks and another eye sore in the Ashford skyline. I really was hoping that it was a better place to be, to relax and enjoy my day off with my friend, but it’s clear that it’s still needing some form of rethink. Yes it does look better since the revamp but it’s still got the same problems it had before, hence the title. I’m not writing this in revenge or to get back at management or anything, it is a genuine message to them, please don’t use the bare minimum resources, because it’s so obvious from a customer perspective. Your staff are your lifeblood of your business. Please respect them and don’t leave one of them on shift in the main bar during lunch. I really and truly want to see that hotel thrive, because the people who work there deserve it.

Negative experience: THIS IS NOT A SPA IT IS A LEISURE CENTRE WITH A FEW SPA LIKE AMENITIES. We booked an indulgent spa day... This was not a spa. It was small swimming pool with 2 relaxation chairs, a broken 2 person jacuzzi, a broken steam room and a very small sauna. All of this was at the side of the pool in a very small space. You could almost reach the sauna door from the relaxation chairs. There were no robes and we were given towels, one of which was dirty. There was about 8 seats. When we finally managed to get a moment on the relaxtion chairs people were hovering over us waiting to sit down. Part of the pool was closed off for lane swimming and part of it was closed off for a baby swim class. The rest of the pool was filled with young children. It was advertised as being 18+. We read reviews and thought it would be ok. We ended up leaving and cancelling treatments.

Negative experience: 2 of the spa facilities weren’t working. The steam room and the jacuzzi!(Beginning of half term). The restaurant will give it 1 star. Bellow average starters and as for the main course even worse. We ve been waiting for 35 minutes for the main course!! The risotto was done with easy cook rice(!!) not arborio and it was dry. The ragu was acidy and tasteless. The head waiter took our full plates back and didn’t even ask whats wrong with them.

Positive experience: Ashford International is a competitively priced hotel. The team are really attentive and always meet with a smile. There are two options for food, in the bar which is a little small, and always understaffed, but there is excess seating in the foyer area. The restaurant menu us more extensive with more seating. The rooms are larger rooms and we'll equipped, but missing a fridge. My two biggest gripes are 1) no plugs by the bed 2) being a shower person I don't like showers over a bath, especially when the rail has been put in too low, so the shower head is in the middle of your back.

Fantastic experience: A group of 37 stayed at the Ashford International Hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is very welcoming and the food was excellent as was the bedrooms and pool. Our waiter Jack deserves a mention for being very helpful and friendly. A good location for visiting gardens of Kent.

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed our time here. We arrived 2 hours before and the gentleman at the desk let us check into our room 2 hours early. Not sure what his name was but it was at about 13:30 on Saturday 28th September, he was very nice and we really appreciated the help we received for the parking and the help in easing out anxiety in insuring us that the parking was free providing we put our reg into the machine. Parking was good will plenty of spaces to park. Free, providing you put your reg into database at desk. About 10 min drive from high street. Room was lovely and clean, bed was comfy We had breakfast in the morning £15 per person for an all you can eat arrived at about 8am and was fairly empty, but started to get busy by about 8:45 when we left. Was plenty of food to choose from. Slight disappointment was that there was only one coffee machine that was working and it tasted like the machine actually run out of beans and it was mainly just frothy milk!

Positive experience: Young staff behind the bar need some support and management. They were trying hard but they had no direction. Unsurprisingly some customers were very annoyed.

Fantastic experience: 2nd stay here. Staff friendly and attentive. Used the spa which was great. Didn't have enough towels as was very busy. Best time to swim between 12pm and 4pm when there are no young children. Breakfast had so much choice, I asked for poached eggs , which were great and just how I liked them. Room was good, nice big TV. Hope to return.

Positive experience: 1 night stay for a business trip. Travelled in the rain all day, so I was excited to arrive... I stayed in room 251, which was very similar to a Premier inn. If like me you are a light sleeper, Traffic/passing cars can be heard in this room from the busy road! Gym & Spa is like a Bannatyne's... Both gym & spa are used by membership holders and guests. Kids swim club in the evening, but still able to use the pool. Hot tub takes forever to come on for it's cycle of bubbles! Gym wasn't too busy, so able to use everything. Est. 6pm. The ladies changing room was quite messy. Cups, tissues, and towels left on the floor. Hair on the shower floors. I tried to use 3 of the lockers which didn't work despite following the lock instructions. Everyone I asked just said it was lucky if you got one to work, most were broken. There is no room service... Service in the restaurant seemed slow, considering it wasn't busy. I had a burger, which was very nice. I took some donuts to my room (2 min walk from the restaurant) the chocolate sauce was served cold and the donuts themselves were like bullets where they'd probably been over dinged in the microwave. It wasn't a terrible place to stay, and free use of the facilities is a nice touch, but I wouldn't rush back. Location is est. 20 minute walk from the shopping area.

Positive experience: Great 2-Day Break! Just had a lovely 2-day stay at Ashford International Hotel, and it was fantastic! The food was really good The room was kept spotless, thanks to the excellent housekeeping team. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We also loved the swimming pool—a great place to unwind. Plus, there was plenty of parking, so no hassle there either. All in all, a really enjoyable stay. Would definitely come back!

Fantastic experience: We were there for a hen do, spa and afternoon tea. Everyone was so helpful, specially Teresa who helped in the changing rooms. The afternoon tea was amazing and we were able to take home what wasn't eaten. Would throughly recommend this beautiful venue.

Negative experience: I was looking forward to visiting this hotel with my partner and have a relaxing weekend togheter. Unfortunately we couldn't sleep at night because of the noise coming from the other rooms. Expecially room 156 that was just next to us. Also the spa was basically an overcrowded pool , there is a tiny jacuzzi and a very small sauna and steam room. We had to queue to use it so we decided to leave. I understand that the hotel might have been busy but that should not compromise the service you offer. For us unfortunately was not a relaxed and enjoyable stay.

Positive experience: I recently stayed at this hotel and would rate it 3 out of 5 stars. On the positive side, the hotel was very clean, and I appreciated the attention to cleanliness throughout my stay. However, there were a couple of downsides that affected my experience. The breakfast was quite disappointing, with limited choices. Additionally, I had made a simple request for a room facing some greenery, but instead, I was given a room on the top floor with a view of cement and cables. The lack of accommodation for this basic request (the hotel is in the countryside) was frustrating. Overall, it was an average stay with some room for improvement.

Positive experience: The restaurant is a scam. You pay 12£ for a starter that has 3 tiny pieces of bread, the dessert (lemon polenta) was the size of my fingers and it was 10£. I made the comment to the waiter and, she admitted that they received a lot of similar comments. Hence, even if you complain they will keep doing it The facility (room, pool and jacuzzi) are very good for the price.

Negative experience: Horrible place to stay. Spent £300 and got offered £40 compensation after no sleep. The “spa break” was filled with children/families so the spa was non existent. Overpriced food, overpriced room, bathroom messy and smelly. Go somewhere else

Fantastic experience: We had a brilliant stay. The hotel I so big and gives a good vibe and atmosphere. Swimming was fun - although jacuzzi is small. Good rooms and nice breakfast. I must say the lady that helped me make my booking was amazing - she was so sweet. She ensured we go connecting rooms and made sure we got a good deal too

Negative experience: Not a good hotel experience. From checking in it started out well. We booked a standard room. Our room had a leaking toilet and raised it three times to the reception to make them understand that we need a room change. And it finally happened around 22.30 in the evening. Not so great. The new room we got looked better and the toilet was not clean it had poo from the before use. Not a good impression at all. We used the leisure centre and I end up having a fully naked man in the female changing room. I complained it to the spa reception but don’t think anything was taken care of. Was not a good experience for a hotel this level.

Negative experience: Stayed here on 2nd April 2024 - accidentally left a car key and door key in the room - we live 2 hours away. Called the hotel and they said they would post them back. Fast forward to today - 3.5 months later!!! And still no keys. Have called the hotel multiple times and each person has promised someone would ‘call us tomorrow’. Never had a call back. Customer service not great in that aspect!! Would appreciate if someone would call me ASAP!

Negative experience: Can’t comment on the rooms but we were recently there for a wedding and they only had one bar team member on for the whole of the reception party. Really not acceptable for the money paid and the amount of people queueing for a drink. The one lad behind the bar though was amazing and handled it very well. Management need to take a good look at staffing levels.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my daughter recently attended the private reptile show hosted by the ARC at Ashford International Hotel and Spa. We were blown away at how amazing the venue is, so clean and comfortable. The café is lovely and breakfast was delicious. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful, a huge shout out in particular to Tom Poole, Claire Johnson, Ellie, Jenny, Kayleigh, Julie and Dennis. Such a wonderful team who helped make it possible. It's just such a shame that there are a group of mis-informed people who don't understand what the ARC and it's members stand for. If they took their time to do the correct research they would then see that the ARC is there to educate people in the correct and responsible way to care for reptiles. Maybe they would like to interview the ARC team and pop along to one of the events so that they could see it for themselves?

Fantastic experience: On Saturday 13th July 2024 we attend the ARC show at this hotel. It's a fantastic hotel with a real premium feel, superb facilities and extremely friendly staff. The show itself was an exhibition, in two of the rooms, with ample space to move about and was also very accessible for anyone with disabilities. Great care was taken to provide what the animals needed and the passion of the exhibitors was second to none. It is a great event for anyone that wants to learn more about reptiles and amphibians. We were really appreciative of the hotel accommodating the event, at such short notice, after animal activists attacked the previous location. These same ill-informed animal activists can be seen in the negative reviews creating false reviews and slandering the good name of the hotel. The fact that, in 2024, people are still allowed to use lies and propaganda to bully businesses and people into submission is beyond me. The local council attended the event and were extremely happy with animal welfare and the diligence of all of those involved. A big shout out to Jenny, Tom, Claire, Ellie, Julie, Kayleigh and Dennis, who work at the hotel, who made the event possible and made it go swimmingly. I would highly recommend, for anyone looking to stay or host an event, in the area, that you choose Ashford International Hotel & Spa.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my family attended The ARC event at the hotel. I would like to say a big thank you for hosting, at such short notice, due to uneducated people that tried to shut the event down at another venue. The reception staff were very friendly and were happy to show us to the event room. The room was spacious and even had an outside area set up with food vans but there is also a Sainsbury's, just a 5 minute walk away. The reptiles on show were well cared for and the exhibitors offered lots of advice. There were lots of signs, stating that the reptiles were only on display for the event. The show was fantastic and I hope that we will be able to attend another at this fantastic venue. Thank you to the staff at the hotel and the exhibitors.

Fantastic experience: I visited the ARC event on saturday and was blown away. The show in itself was amazing. Such a wonderful variety of reptiles on display. Was really nice chatting to some of the hobbiest, and learning more about some species that i myself havent kept. The event was wonderfully inclusive. We took my disabled sister in law with us who has trouble with walking & standing for long periods. We spoke to the lovely receptionist Julie who gave us consent to grab a chair for her to have regular sitting breaks. This is the second ARC event we have attended and this one blew it out of the park. The venue was just lovely. So easy to find. Tons of parking. The building itself was lovely. We travelled an hour for the show so decided to book a room and head to ashford outlet on sunday. The room was lovely, view of the courtyard. Everything was lovely and clean. Will 100% stay again. Really saddened to see the hateful & false reviews left by members of the APA. There is really just no need. I stand for animal rights and thats why i support the ARC, the animals at the show were all treated wonderfully. You can really see the care and time put into these animals on display. Anyway, lets not give these haters anymore time & space to bully & harass. Super looking forward to the next event.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant hotel, very clean and professional! I attended the arc event last weekend, and safe to say it was brilliant and well run! Big thank you to the team who organised the event and also to the staff at the hotel who hosted the event so last minute due to protesters and activists getting the original venue closed down, and now targeting the hotel online leaving fake reviews with misleading information! The event was absolutely outstanding as usual, every single animal was well looked after and all healthy. All in suitable temporary enclosures! As someone who is incredibly passionate about the reptile hobby it was lovely to see so many people come together with so much knowledge being shared despite the people who tried to ruin it and get it shut down. Overall a brilliant day the event was amazing and the staff at the hotel were friendly! I would definitely be recommending the hotel to people in the future! I urge anyone to reach out to the ARC for education on reptiles if you're interested. Anyone who thinks people keep thousands upon thousands of pounds worth of animals, whether it be big or small in enclosures that aren't suitable for them, doesn't know enough about the hobby to be commenting on it!!!

Fantastic experience: We hosted the Amphibian and Reptile Club (ARC) summer event here on Saturday 13th July. I can only describe my experience as exceptional. After a previous venue was viciously attacked by a number of animal rights extremists, who call themselves the Animal Protection Agency (APA), we were embraced by the team at the hotel and welcomed in! Jenny in particular has been a god send! She has been so helpful, always there to answer questions and truly gone above and beyond to accommodate us. The halls themselves were incredible and the staff exemplary. It has saddened me and others at the event to see the slurry of slanderous false accusations and false comments left here on the reviews section by the same group of animal rights extremists. To the extent where some have taken it upon themselves to falsely impersonate guests of the hotel and shower such an amazing hotel and team with such awful accusations. To take it further they have wrongly been putting untold pressure on the hotel and its company. Such things should not be allowed in our modern society and this extend of cyber bullying and domestic terrorism should not be permitted and should be sanctioned. The accusations are nothing but lies, propaganda and hate crimes. Additionally Ashford council had representatives attend and inspect the event and found no wrong doing and instead were pleasantly surprised by the level of animal welfare, passion and diligence everyone had. If you are considering staying or using their venue hire facility go for it! I cannot fault this amazing place or team in any way shape or form. If you want somewhere where you will feel welcome, will be accommodated and supported every step of the way, this hotel has it all and in massive abundance! Marv

Fantastic experience: We attended a private event at the Ashford International last weekend and we could not have been more impressed. We drove down from Northumberland and stayed elsewhere this time, but we fully intend to stay at the Ashford next time should they host the event again. The event rooms were perfect, the hotel staff were so welcoming and the bar that we had a drink in was lovely and fairly priced. Can't wait to come and use the spa and the pool! Fantastic experience: Recently attended the ARC show here. The visit was well worth the while. The staff and reptile keepers were all really friendly always eager to help. I was very impressed with the reptiles they were also friendly.I was able to hold quite a few without getting bitten. I was happy with the variety of snakes and lizards that were there. All were kept well and looked well cared for. I'm hoping to attend the next show as I have friends who are keen to join next time. The venue was great, free parking was a bonus.

Fantastic experience: I attended the ARC show, as both a professional photographer and a student studying herpetology, and I also keep reptiles as pets. The exhibitors were remarkably friendly and helpful, and they eagerly answered any questions that attendees had. They shared valuable knowledge about the appropriate equipment and setups required for different animals, as well as enclosure dimensions, temperature specifications, and substrate selection. The animals showcased at the exhibition met the highest standards of quality and were presented in an exemplary manner. There were no indications of stress among the animals, and they all appeared content and well-cared for. The travel enclosures provided for the animals were of a high standard and ensured their comfort and safety during the show and transportation. The venue was exceptional and an excellent choice. Julie on reception was welcoming and eager to help me find the event rooms efficiently. Although I am a local resident, I did not have the opportunity to utilize the accommodations on this occasion. The venue was immaculate, well-illuminated, and easily accessible to individuals with disabilities, which is particularly advantageous for me due to my mobility challenges when selecting a location for lodging or events. Both the event and accommodation spaces were conveniently situated on the ground floor, ensuring ease of access for all attendees. I eagerly anticipate the possibility of establishing this location as a suitable venue for future events or even accommodations..

Fantastic experience: Was in 2 minds about the venue as I had never been. As a team member of the ARC club we needed a private function hall for this special occasion. I was pleasantly surprised, the staff were lovely, they couldn’t have been more helpful the actual event hall is a wow exactly what I was hoping for, the perfect location for the ARC Club. Fantastic experience: I recently visited the Ashford international with my two young sons for a private event held by the ARC. I was a little concerned because we were travelling some distance however the Hotel itself is was easy to find and on arrival was very welcoming. We initially had some trouble finding the event due to the fact it was out of the way of the main hotel and spa however the Julie and Kayleigh at the front desk were very helpful steering us in the right direction. The event itself was extremely well run and very educational for my sons. As a keeper myself of a handful and reptiles and amphibians it was brilliant to see such a diverse selection and to hear how passionate and knowledgeable those displaying animals were. I was especially impressed by the thought that they had put into these temporary enclosures to ensure the animals were comfortable and relaxed. The original venue unfortunately changed very last minute due to protests and threats from some ill informed and uneducated people, some of which can clearly be seen in some of the false reviews left. The fact the hotel was able to accommodate the ARC and that the local council inspectors were so happy with the displays speaks volumes. Special thanks go out to the team at the Ashford Hotel who provided this awesome venue and ensured things went so smoothly. Added bonus was the free parking at the venue All in all the Hotel venue couldn’t be faulted on the day with regular visits from Tom and Ellie to make sure everything ran smoothly it just made for a great day out for my family and we look forward to visiting again.

Fantastic experience: Firstly would like to say a massive thank you to the amazing staff, they where so friendly and helpful when I got lost and I'm so grateful that they managed to squeeze in the ARC show on such notice. And I am also so grateful that so many of the wonderful staff have continued to support our event despite the illegal harassment they have been receiving from activists that wish to ban keeping all animals not just the captive bred exotics we love so much. The venue was beautiful and the hall was very spacious! I didn't feel claustrophobic at all which is greatly appreciated as someone with socal anxiety and claustrophobia. The venue was very safety aware, all cables/electricity the tables needed was safely highlighted and tucked away and a member of staff who I believe was the manager was wandering the event making sure everyone was happy and that the animals where all safely contained/handled. I can't wait to attend another show at your venue, use your hotel when I'm in the area and I will definitely be recommending you in the future! x

Fantastic experience: Despite the fake news and slandering of amazing people, The A.R.K event was a really wonderful event full of people educating each other and with so much enthusiasm for always finding better ways to keep our beloved animals and without any illegal activities, although I feel like I shouldn’t even have to say that as it should be a given especially for anyone who has attended the last one of any in the past and knows anything about the animals there! Seeing people getting over fears after learning so much information about the animals, family’s coming out creating wonderful memories and parents teaching their children how to care for animals in the correct way whilst also sharing the excitement! Fantastic experience: I recently attended The Arc show with my partner and children at this establishment. Also massive hats off to the venue as they was awesome enough to host this at short notice. Not only is this by far one of if not the best venues I have attended a show at but it was also one of the most professionally put together. The animals on show all looked well looked after and had adequate heat or lighting the hobbyists showing their animals on this day did us all proud as a community. Also praise to all the amazing hotel staff that went above and beyond to support The Arc show wanting to allow us all to just meet up and discuss our passions at an event. Tiny bit of education for everyone the animals are never in distress they are also only in their travel tubs for events in which a reptile will feel safer and more relaxed. The same as your dog or cat may spend 2 days at a vets in a tiny kennel after being transported in a crate they are not being mistreated in anyway but kept in a way they are most safe and comfortable. The people at these events love their animals and once the shows are done these pets go back to their home enclosures which will be more spacious they will be health checked and offered fresh food and water. And unlike a dog or cat most only require feeding once a week and will consume a much lower amount of water due to them being cold blooded. I am glad we have found a venue that understands this and is willing to support us and fight our corner because at the end of the day all we as hobbyists want to do is share our passion with each other and other members of society. Me and my partner will defently be booking a room for next time and exploring the local area before hopefully attending another well put together Arc show supported by the amazing staff at the Ashford International Hotel and Spa. P.S: We have never had a single animal die or become ill because of one of these events that is just another lie created by the APA to make us look bad. It is sad to see people in this day and age trying to force their fear onto future generations rather than educating themselves on just how amazing reptiles are. Also the African BBQ was amazing!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Attended the ashford international spa & hotel over the weekend to attend the arc show. The hotel was really lovely. Great parking and really easy to find. We traveled an hour to attend the show & it was well worth it. Lovely seeing so many people joining the reptile hobby & realising that snakes, spiders & lizards aren't scary after all. Hopeful that the next event will be held at the same location as it was really lovely & easy to find. Such a lovely community of reptile lovers, saw some new people to the hobby at the show asking questions and gaining as much info as they could before getting a new pet. Really lovely to see. Julie on reception was lovely & showed us where the event room was. Would defo visit the hotel for a stay as it was really nice & felt really luxurious. Will be recommending to friends also. Fantastic experience: Visited the ashford international spa & hotel last weekend to attend the ARC show. Was blown away by the high level of service from the staff, in particular Tom Poole for making sure the event was running smoothly constantly & The lovely receptionist Julie who helped us sort out parking. The venue was immaculate. Will definitely be coming back to say in the hotel. Plenty of parking space and super easy to get to just off the motorway. The private room for the function was immaculate with lots of seating available for people who needed to sit ( as it was a warm day. ) The event itself was absolutely Amazing. The reptiles were so well kept & healthy. There was not a single unhealthy animal at the show. The keepers are doing an amazing job. Lots of signposts about to remind people that may be new to the hobby that the enclosures the animals were in are just for display & not appropriate for housing & lots of informative people available to discuss appropriate housing. Full of people with amazing knowledge on keeping & rearing reptiles. Lots of peoples asking questions and being given all the current & up to date knowledge on reptile keeping. We couldn’t have done it without the help of the wonderful staff at the venue.

Fantastic experience: Hi first I would like to say that the Ashford international Spa & hotel was amazing on the day of the show and for the hater’s I’m sure amongst you are people that have dogs and cats and hamsters as pets that is what the ARC is about we are hobbyists we have pets that we spend a lot of money on ensuring there happiness, wellbeing, and up keep. no animals at any show are harmed this is a place that we meet and share information within the hobby. we have a best in show. for people to hate on something that they don’t understand, and try to use bullying tactics to stop something that they don’t understand is small minded and wrong. Big up to the Ashford international spa& hotel for the great day we had there. Big up to Tom, Jenny and Julie for all the help on the day could not have been done with out you guys.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic venue where I recently went to the ARC event. Unfortunately, having read several “fake” reviews being left by members of animal activist groups it appears that the venue is now being targeted. It’s a shame that these people have nothing better to do with their time and are probably the most uneducated people in the UK who literally have zero knowledge of keeping any exotic animals…bless them, no doubt they voted for the Green Party and want our nuclear deterrent scrapped as well… or perhaps you’ll find them on one of gantries on the M25 discussing the latest Tofu recipe ♂️ But anyway, the ARC is a fantastic, members only organisation which prides itself on the wellbeing of the animals with a knowledge that Steve Irwin would be proud of

Fantastic experience: Stayed the night for a lovely experience and that what I got! Was more than I could have imagined and and absolute joy for me and my partner, attended an event held there the following day called Arc which was brilliant, speaking to the other attendees and venders was a joy also and was very insightful, animals were all quality and well looked after too. Ive seen some reviews left which are clearly by imbeciles who know nothing since everything received the utmost care, so I can say for a matter of fact a lot of these negative reviews are nothing but a bombardment of lies. Massive shoutout to the staff there who were all so helpful and wonderful, were lovely to talk to and answer any question we had, well worth the visit and needs a deserved five stars.

Fantastic experience: My partner and I went to the Ashford international hotel & Spa whilst visiting Kent for a weekend. We were kindly greeted at the front desk by Julie who showed us where to sort parking etc. The hotel was very clean, the staff were friendly and overall we had an amazing experience! When we visit Kent again, this will definitely be the venue we choose. Many thanks again

Fantastic experience: Amazing venue! we recently had the pleasure of attending an event held here! the staff were extremely accommodating and very pleasant and made everyone feel welcome we didn't use the hotel but have heard nothing but praise for it, plenty of parking space also We attended a reptile exhibition and although the Antis in the reviews below would like you to believe the event is illegal IT IS NOT!!! and also the animals are NOT WILD! they are all housed in appropriate sized enclosures and were exhibited beautifully, they also were not showing any signs of stress ..the Majority were snuggled into the substrate asleep - the appropriate heating & lighting was also used for each species , The council were also in attendance and were also very happy I'd like to thank some of the staff especially Tom Poole (Manager) who was constantly making sure everyone was ok honestly fantastic venue with fantastic staff!

Negative experience: What a shock. Staying here in the past was fine but a friend of mine stayed here last weekend and they had a pet fair selling snakes and lizards. Please don’t stay here - there are lots of other places that don’t have weird pet events.
An official statement has been made by our Communications Director regarding a members only exhibition in a private room not affecting hotel residents, however please rest assured that a council inspector was in attendance at the event and fully satisfied with all activities and conditions.
Negative experience: This venue is one of the last in the country to host a cruel reptile trade event which is shunned by any venue remotely concerned about animal welfare. Animals are kept in small plastic tubs throughout these events and hundreds of them die. Even if you are not an animal lover you might want to consider the health implications of hosting such an event in a hotel.

Negative experience: I spent a terrible night at this hotel. Too scared to go out of my room, I was hungry and got no sleep. If I'd known what was going on that day I could have booked somewhere else. They had an event with loads of snakes. I have a major phobia. I wasn't informed this was happening when I booked. I'm sure there are others like me. Apparently there are going to be regular events selling snakes there but no advertised. Ruined my weekend meeting old friends too tired and stressed. Awful

Positive experience: The hotel was nice overall, if not a little dated in the room department. The main lobby area was nice and the drinks/food were good, as were the bar & restaurant staff. We had a spa day and the treatments were great and very relaxing. The staff in there were very attentive and took good care of us. Downsides: There was 0 communication - we had to locate our room (wasn't as easy as you think) find the restaurant, work out when it closed, locate the pool / spa and also try and work out what the process was to use the pool, find out checkout times, discover how the parking was covered etc. The list went on. It would have been far more helpful to have had this info conveyed to us when we arrived. But I guess it made it more interesting finding out as we went! Only other downside was using the pool to discover there are 2 hours of child swimming lessons in the mornings - not quite the relaxing spa experience we were expecting. But overall, a nice fairly inexpensive break not too far from home.

Fantastic experience: Can't thank the venue enough for accommodating an event at very short notice. The rooms were great, the staff were helpful and although you could see they were very busy, did their best to sort everything. Hopefully be returning in the near future.

Negative experience: I came here for a spa day and paid for the 'ultimate' treatment for myself and my mum. This totalled over £400 for the day. Our day was not terrible but it wasn't great. My mums room was cold when she had the massages and facial. The therapist didn't heat up the room even after my mum asked multiple times for this. The pool area is open to other members not just spa experiences so it was super busy, lots of noise and children running around. This is not a proper spa experience. We told reception who didn't care to do anything about my mums treatments. We then emailed the manager Paul, and he did not even bother to respond (it's been almost 2 weeks). The place itself is nice but the customer service is 2/5 at best. I expected a lot more from a hotel/spa like this. Save your money.

Positive experience: Complained last stay about the quench bar and complaining again. Look folks I’ve stayed 3 times now, each time including room, meals and drinks cost £200 per night. Ordered bbq chicken wings and bbq loaded fries. They were not bbq they were deep fried, with a squirt of ketchup on both. I called the manageress who asked if I wanted a complete replacement as I had eaten 2 chicken wings and some of the fries I said replace the chicken and deduct the amount of fries I had eaten. I got a complete replacement but I was made to feel like I was just seeking a freebie!! I decided to send back the portion I shouldn’t have eaten. Happy now??? See picture!! Working for a blue chip company I really don’t need freebies. Gary L June 14th

Fantastic experience: Very nice stay, prices for food and drinks are over the top, although a very nice atmosphere. The rooms are clean and basic, the AC was great it worked. The Spa is nice but needs updating and the men's charging areas needs regular cleaning, too many pubic hairs for my liking. Overall staff were super helpful and friendly

Positive experience: Spacious room with a nice bathroom. Room was clean and nicely decorated, tea tray was well stocked, bed was comfy. Experience in the restaurant left something to be desired: staff were not attentive or friendly, food was overpriced, and we waited over an hour for our dinner to be served. The food itself was reasonably nice, but nothing fancy. Didn’t get a chance to use the spa facilities so can’t comment on those.

During busiest times there is a little wait, we try to give an accurate waiting time on food if this is the case. Positive experience: The hotel is beautiful and has a large seating area used by guests for meetings and relaxing. It also has a spa inside the hotel. Unfortunately they didn't have any appointments free for massages while we were staying there. So it might be an idea to book in advance before arriving. The pool, sauna and steam room was nice. They supply towels for hotel guests and have a water dispenser near the entrance to the pool. The hotel was very busy during our stay and our rooms didn't get cleaned till after 4 pm. Apart from this little inconvenience I can't fault the place.
