Nuffield Health Wolverhampton Fitness & Wellbeing Gym

Positive experience: Been a member since summer 24. It’s a great place with friendly staff and lovely pools and a good range of classes. However, I’m fed up that there’s absolutely no heating in studio 2 and this has been the case for a number of weeks. It makes Pilates quite miserable. Please please get this sorted.

Negative experience: Don't use, won't let you cancel as they wont accept a bank statement or provisional license as a change of address, how were you supposed to of got the provisional license if you dont live there? They want a bill or rent agreement but if you move in with someone and its their place how are you supposed to get that when everything is in their name? Send debt collection agencies after you pretty much straight away. The gym isn't even very good, too busy so you can't get on any machines and the locker rooms are dirty and smell. Sauna and steam rooms arent hot enough. Much better options out there, nowhere near worth the fee. Stay well clear.

Fantastic experience: Everything you can think of for fitness and welbeing

Negative experience: Been a member for two years. Can’t say I’m impressed, the gym has way too many running machines, free weights are ok, but for individual training the weight machines are seriously lacking in variety and number. The swimming pools are the biggest asset, but they are not maintained and not cleaned. There are still leaves in the outdoor pool from last year and the pool and equipment is dirty. Also the jacuzzi has been removed and replaced by four loungers, not the customer experience I paid for. We have been in and out of different changing rooms because of poorly implemented “improvement”of the showers, quite frankly a joke. This gym needs to seriously look at it self and provide a five star experience for its customers.

Negative experience: Outdated classes. Need to focus more on 30 mins sessions ...Les mills is a outdated concept. Perhaps more focus on women's sessions for over 40's weight training for women...feel very intimidated by the men/boys hogging the weights

Fantastic experience: I have been staying at the premier inn this week for work. I thought I would try out Nuffield health as it was only next door. The customer service I had from the reception desk when I entered was second to none. All of them were so friendly and couldn’t have been more accommodating for me as I was using daily gym passes every day. The facilities were also great and really enjoyed the over all experience of the gym. Thanks again if I ever come back down to work I will 100% use the facilities again.

Fantastic experience: 5 stars mainly carried by the instructors that work here. Professional and genuine group exercise instructors.

Negative experience: Have been a member here at various times from when it was Esporta and then Virgin Active. I have recently cancelled my membership for the below reasons: - the closure of the outside pool for winter (when I personally found it was most enjoyable) - the closure of the indoor jacuzzis with no explanation or alternative plan, resulting in a very unattractive area poolside - relatively unfriendly personal trainers (I am sure they are nice but in previous ownership, PT’s would approach people in the gym and say hello etc) - the repeated closure of male changing rooms with incredibly basic alternative shower facilities - too busy to use equipment and untidy at times - cleaners trying to get the cleaning done in the very last hour to closing - rather than afterwards when people have finished their workouts - the hike in membership prices - followed by the takeover on the carpark of unwanted guests where there was no communication from the club that this had happened I must say - the reception staff were always polite and would say goodbye upon leaving. Also, some classes such as Pilates and Spin are great - hence 1 star

Negative experience: Gym has gone massively downhill. The opening hours are incorrect as they close the gym 30 minutes early (what for? Doesn't take 30 minutes to walk down the stairs). The cleaners start cleaning around you like a nuisance an hour before closing (not during the 30 minutes they close early) and the personal trainers go around turning off machines because they want to get out early. Male changing rooms are always humid, damp and smell. Nobody re-racks weights, gym floor is a mess. A big 20% of the gym floor is taken up by a stupid open space where classes block everyone moving about the gym despite their being 2 studio rooms they could use. Also shout-out to the old chap who goes at 6:30am and uses the cable machine for an entire hour whilst mainly speaking to people.

Negative experience: All the one star reviews are right, and it's over subscribed. Cannot get on machines as they are all being used. No chance if you have a programme to follow. Some of the user also love to try and block a machine with cups and bags. I asked about cancelling my membership due to limited access to equipment and was told no chance. Even the staff that work here block the equipment to stop others using it.

Negative experience: Need up date old smells

Negative experience: Awful gym premium price. Used to go when it was virgin active then carried into Nuffield and now stopped as it's terrible. The interior looks like old people home shabby green furniture in cafe, smells like one too. Dirty changing rooms, ok gym equipment but can get busy. Now problems with pools, no hot tub. What a shame! This should be price of a pure gym. It's nothing special yet high membership cost.

Negative experience: Cutting corners to save money. Any refurbishments are cheap and problematic. Small gym, often not enough equipment to have a good workout. Then the personal trainers run group sessions right in the middle of the gym making the space even smaller for everyone else trying to workout. Really disappointed, wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Negative experience: Changing rooms are always dirty. Toilets are always dirty.

Fantastic experience: Really great staff, kind and very professional. Wayne supervised my pre joining fitness test for the military and he was clear and supportive throughout. Thank you all.

Fantastic experience: Incredible facilities and polite staff. Dale is very polite and knowledgeable on what he does and is a very encouraging person to train with. I recommend 100 percent

Negative experience: agreeing with other comments randomly said the directors have said “were cutting costs” when this could of been easily resolved by asking paying members a even slight increase. Very dissappointed place needs a full re structure. Pay premium for half facillites, avoid like plague.

Negative experience: This gym many years ago used to be great but is now a shambles. Increased their monthly cost, yet reduced swimming and Jacuzzi facilities due to "energy price increases". Womens changing rooms constantly having work done to it so women have to get changed in the mens changing rooms. I would highly suggest people avoid this gym at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Trained at Nuffield Health while in the UK for a week. Facilities are first class and Damion Groom looked after me with a pass as my colleague has been training here for 20 Years. Great service and support of your members goes a long way. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Today myself and 4 girlfriends visited Nuffield Wolverhampton, from Nuffield Cannock. As our jacuzzi has been broken since Christmas last year, we were able to use Wolverhampton. Big car park with lots of spaces. We were welcomed by the lovely Shaun who showed us In and gave us all the info we needed. We had lunch outside in a lovely area and was served by a very nice young lady , sorry I didn't get your name. . I would like to thank all the staff for your friendliness. Also the members we spoke to in the outdoor pool, sauna and jacuzzi. You were very friendly and welcoming too. We will definitely be using your facilities again

Negative experience: Small space, rude staff, poor management, faulty equipment all the time, not enough equipment and busy all the time. Raised an issue to the management and all they seem to care about is the money and trying to persuade me that they never do anything wrong and no apologies either.

Negative experience: Seriously overpriced and ugly outdated interior. Paying premium for the ‘hot tub’ which is now no longer even hot. On the other hand friendly staff and canteen area is a bonus Update 29/09/22 Some of the amenities are now closed to save energy, what a joke.

Negative experience: Reception sales executive was rude to not only myself but others who I attended with. considering the sales executive worked in sales, she did not know much about the company’s policy- unfortunate. I suggest the company have more training days with there staff to stop any confusion. read similar reviews, won’t be returning. Customer satisfaction? 0 stars. Staff? Unprofessional. It took 3 people at reception to try and resolve the matter as well as the first member of staff we spoke to.

Negative experience: 1 star is far too generous!!!! It is ridiculous me and my child attended and he has dyslexia and unfortunately was not fully able to answer questions after being interrogated by Sarha Jane!!! She then went on to say ‘I am not a mug’ thus belittling me and again reinforcing my sons difficulties!!! I am not sure what training Sarha has undertaken given her rude and discriminatory nature!!! This has really hindered my sons confidence and it has taken me hours to rebuild his emotional well-being! Please take caution if you are a person of colour when dealing with Sarha Jane and duty manager Luke!!! THANK YOU Sarha Jane!!!

Fantastic experience: My friend and I just spent part of the day there (as we are staying at the premier inn next door). What a delightful time we had. The gym is amazing (went on a Tuesday in December so quiet), loads of great equipment. The receptionist was super helpful and lovely and welcoming. Then we used the outdoor and indoor pools, again great. Lifeguard was chatty and lovely and helpful. The food and smoothies were great, good portions and reasonably priced. the chef made extra effort and went out of her way to account for an allergy. The lady behind the bar serving our food was amazing. The friendliest and most helpful staff and genuinely nice and happy to help. If I was local I would certainly join in a heart beat!

Fantastic experience: I attended the gym to complete my MOD fitness test. Upon arrival I was greeted by the lovely receptionist who then alerted the PT I was here. Oli Harris was more than I could have hoped for. He was friendly and calm which put me at ease throughout the whole test. Oli was willing to spend some extra time helping me with areas I struggled at and didn’t make it seem like any trouble. He was really motivating throughout the whole thing which made it a lot easier too! Cannot recommend Oli enough!

Negative experience: Terrible service, they act like they care about you but at the end of the day sadly it all falls down to money. The staff and personal trainers are very rude. The only nice decent people and the front desk staff and the lifeguards !

Positive experience: The gym is a good size having indoor And outdoor pool, sauna and jacuzzi, they serve food which is good but there is always a wait.

Positive experience: Really good gym decent equipment for a health club - really clean all the time cleaning staff do great job - pool and sauna area good - all the staff there really good polite and pleasant including restaurant staff who are really friendly - only complaint and reason doesn't have five stars is aircon is terrible in summer way to hot to train to the point I’ve joined a second gym for hot days

Positive experience: My wife and myself have been members for a while now and must say we have enjoyed our experience. We tried a Saturday morning tho today and for me it seemed there were too many families there! Which is great absolutely fine but unfortunately the parents couldn't keep control of their children or even there selves. It may have been an unfortunate day where the day passes didn't really work but from now on I think I'll give this time of day on a Saturday a miss. I don't pay £116 a month to have a Bentley bridge experience!!!. The life guard staff did tho eventually speak to mom to ask her son not to slash around the jacuzzi so well done to them.

Fantastic experience: Great place, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. Variety of apparatus in the gym.very clean and tidy. Haven't been in the sauna but the steam room is super.

Positive experience: Nuffield gym , same as any other gym, within Wolverhampton, a little expensive against the others, why I dont know, only difference is they have a pool , 2 Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, nothing really to warrant the £50 off peak Pass per month, and even dearer if you want a roll on month contract ..family are classed as separate pricing, so not so good, only difference is not many kids even with parents , I dare say a hot summers day will be different as they have sun loungers by the outdoor pool, even that's a good temperature all year round .. Only handy for me as i live within 10 min drive from here or I'd change gyms .

Positive experience: Good range of equipment and classes. Staff are very professional . I just wish there were more changing cubicles. Some of usike our privacy.

Negative experience: Horrendously busy, and a complete and total lack of organisation on the weights floor. Dumbells and weights everywhere, mixed and never put back. You'll spend more time here waiting for equipment and hunting for weights than anything else.

Positive experience: Very expensive but a lovely warm couple of pools, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. Nice cafe bar where you can undo all that hard work too.

Positive experience: Gym facilities are great and there's even an outdoor pool but food service, is very slow and often not what is asked for or, sub-standard with high prices.

Fantastic experience: Nice place, lovely staff, very clean. My kids love the little pool and playing area and outside pool is brilliant. Excellent gym. A bit expensive but well worth it.

Cafe is a welcome treat at the end of a tough session. All of the staff are professional, helpful and friendly. What more do you need from a gym. I love it here.

Positive experience: I've been a member here for a year in the summer. Love the place. I do agree with 1 or 2 comments about the shower and changing areas being a little small & squashed at times and would benefit from a refurb in there. (Some kind of doors in the shower cubicles might be nicer than plastic curtains - just a suggestion?)

Negative experience: Friendly staff however the pool is always full of kids, the changing rooms are tiny and I often find myself having to share one bench with 3 others men and the toilets stink! For the near £60 a month I pay, it’s a shame I’m getting something which feels like a council owned leisure centre.

Positive experience: It is wonderful Gym with great indoor and out door swimming pools and, Sauna, spa and stream room, There are plenty of activities happening in this place if you have plenty of time. I love the restaurant and kids love the soft play area. 3 star is for 2 specific reasons- 1. I find it hard to find a parking space whenever I come here, and I assume that is because people love this place and come very often. 2. Men's change room toilet stink most of the time and I have to keep my nose closed whenever I am forced to use the area, air will smell rotten with raw urine mixed with some repulsive smell. I don't know why air fresheners cannot be used here!
