Negative experience: Soft play was lovely but Ringo are about to mug me for the full amount in the car park and according to the receptionists it's quite common.

Negative experience: I've stopped using your swimming pool as its hardly ever open when l need it. The times you can swim are restricted and not at all helpful.

Positive experience: Need better changing facilities They have very recently been painted but there's only 2 enclosed showers and not many changing cubicles, after a swim class you stand around getting cold as every one is in use, including family one. Also, in the spa area, one or two loungers or even more comfortable chairs would be lovely

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for a few years now and always feel welcome there. There are all ages in the gym, and if you are new, you won't feel intimidated as there are no posers, just normal people. The classes on offer are great and varied, where you can book 7 days in advance. The health suite is a plus with jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna. The swimming pool is large with dedicated lanes and a baby pool too, there are swimming lessons as well. This is not all they do, so much to mention. I would highly recommend this leisure centre.

Positive experience: Quick swim, during the public time. Quite busy, but after lessons able to move to the kids area. Changing rooms always soaking by the lockers, but otherwise clean and felt reassured by lifeguards.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to ‘Torbay Leisure Centre’ regularly for over 25 yrs doing a lot of different classes, all abilities catered for, such a range of classes with brilliant instructors, lovely ladies on reception, always so friendly & there to help. Paignton would be lost with out this great facility.

Fantastic experience: Although the building looks like the era it came from, equipment is modern, the atmosphere busily relaxed and inclusive, and the staff are excellent...supportive and actually want to help.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to get some swim training done, the choice of sessions is fantastic and not too full either. The staff are friendly and helpful and keep the place clean and tidy. Prices are reasonable too.

Positive experience: Expensive car park. Have pay for 2 spaces if you have large van or camper

Negative experience: Parking £1.70 an hour. Only in there for a short time.

Negative experience: I went in on Tuesday Morning to ask if they did weight bearing exercises for over 60's and at reception I was told, that they did not! WHY? I was told that the Centre Manager would call me back and he has not, shame on you Chris!!! Just because I have a bus pass, does not mean that I am on a Zimmer Frame, not impressed.

Positive experience: Pleasant experience, some really annoying people in the pool though, lane swimming in the open section

Negative experience: It was Open day today nothing much for children. I remember coming a couple of years ago and there was a lot for children & it was free. Surely there should be activities for all age groups & maybe the prices should be reduced not full price When phoned today i wasn’t told the cycling free this afternoon. I was told there is a charge of £5 for bike hire plus all activities were for adults.

Negative experience: Awful place. I would definitely not recommend. Ignorant reception staff, dirty changing rooms. I cancelled my membership. Gave them the months notice as required and now they want an extra month otherwise they're going to debt collectors. £60 they want to cancel a membership. Tried to go through their complaints process and have just been ignored and bombarded with threatening emails instead.

Positive experience: Over priced gym, very very dated, did have a great swimming pool, now it's been made incredibly short to accommodate club swimming rather than the majority. Only saving grace is the amazing staff they are lucky to employ, always attentive and super friendly

Negative experience: Really awful service - when phoning them after I was offered a free month, they told me I was on a 12 month contract which was over £450... the reception told me that no gym will just offer you a free membership and this was completely my fault. I had to pay £80 to get out of this so called contract. I was trying a free month to see if I liked the service and would sign up if so... absolutely awful and not clear that this is what I was signing up for.

Fantastic experience: Great place to visit or go regularly. There is plenty of parking space, but you have to pay. Went to the afternoon rolla disco. Great staff friendly and easy to talk to. Was not too busy plenty of space to skate. I enjoyed the couple of hours there.

Negative experience: My worst experience! The lady at the front desk today treated me very badly, unprofessional and rude. I was humiliated just for the simple fact that I applied for the Torbay Leisure Card with a low income. The lady at the reception used a very nasty tone when she spoke to me. She was very upset that she had to serve me with that card to which I had the right and I brought all the necessary documents to get it. This person should not work with the public!!! I have never been treated so badly in my life.

Positive experience: The whole place is a bit of an echo chamber but it has some great facilities, including a giant soft play area for little ones.

Fantastic experience: Love it here. I do couch to 5k Tuesday and Thursday early evenings, football Tuesday evenings, racketball Wednesday evenings and 5k Park run on Saturday mornings. Really helps me with confidence and mental health as well as physical health

Positive experience: Very welcoming members of staff who are always there to meet your needs. Facilities from the gym, classes and pool are great and always clean My only downside is trying to book onto certain classes that suit me and find it hard as they're always full and it feels like a race to book early in the morning amd we'll in advance Other than that there's a large amount they offer for a reasonable price

Positive experience: My wife and myself are both members of the leisure centre and have been for many years. We use the gym regularly and the staff are very helpful and friendly which is all part of the experience. However today we visited the gym and noticed that the cloths and spray bottles of cleaning solution had been removed and replaced with some sort of wet wipe. These wet wipes are non bio degradable and dry up very quickly making you use a large amount of them during your gym session and then throwing them away no doubt ending up in landfil. Not very acceptable in this day and age where we need to protect our planet not help in its demise. The cloths and spray were far more enviromenaly friendly and encourage you to clean your equipment after use. I for one will not be using these wet wipes and would encourage all gym users to do the same. Please please management reinstate the cloths and spray.

Positive experience: Clean and a great range of facilities available for all age ranges and abilities. Parking wardens on patrol regularly so make sure you pay to park. Proper cafe needed for extra star. :)

Negative experience: Once again Torbay Council are not large vehicle friendly my wheels were in the barking space but the over hang of the motorhome was over behind legally I was wrong by the letter of their rules . But 85% of the car park was empty and the sign does not state to pay extra or use particular bays as I stated before I was stung beware

Positive experience: Large gym lots of choice of machines, friendly and helpful staff some machines need a bit of tlc, parking fees apply £1.60 per hour. Overall nice leasure centre

Positive experience: I agree with the previous comments about micromanagement of the timetable, it's complicated and seems to penalize older people that aren't familiar with tech. Also a very small bracket of booking times to actually use the pool. Especially on a weekend. The whole place is super clean apart from two areas, the mats in the gym that always leave the cloth you routinely wipe with literally black and the floor of the sauna absolutely stinks of sweaty feet at all times, not sure if there is some kind of drain problem in there or if the health and safety concerns around bleach are preventing the staff from getting rid of the bacteria properly. The gym itself is great, most of the staff are very friendly, the health suite is really nice and modern.

Negative experience: A total waste of time and money, they do not accept cash at all not even in the car park. So needless to say we will never use that leisure centre again

Negative experience: Very poor website which doesn't give pool sessions. Just shows open at 6.30am. Pool wasn't open on arrival (7am). Asked for a timetable for swimming sessions from the indifferent staff on duty and was told they didn't do them. I got the impression I was just interrupting their private chatter . I'll look for somewhere else now. Very badly managed

Fantastic experience: My oldest goes to the swimming lessons here and I am absolutely amazed by how wonderful the swimming instructors are. The pool area is always clean and so are the changing rooms. Great cafe and a great soft play area to (which you must book in advance)

Negative experience: Used to be a good leisure centre pre covid. Now tied up in a confusing regime of timetables for this and for that, for sauna and swimming slots, etc. To book a slot for swimming in a specific lane idiotic. What if you book a slot in the slow lane, but on the day you go there is someone really slow and you have to get out and book another slot in the medium lane? Crazy. The swimming and sauna slots do not always follow each other so you have to get out of the pool early or lose some swimming time. In any case in the slotless past you used to be able to walk at any time from the pool to the sauna. I don't want to be micro managed like that and pay for it.

Negative experience: Pool is closed to members and public more than 50% of the time. When it is open its sectioned off into hourly slots with tiny lanes (apparently since covid they have never bothered going back to normal hours or use). No offers for people paying as you go, terrifically high prices for single use of gym. Doesn't accept cash anywhere in the gym (again since corona).

Negative experience: Swimming instructors are amazing. But the life guards and the receptionist are so rude. I rang up to find out infomation. Had to ring 6 times and then the women was awful

Positive experience: Not sure why everyone is moaning. Been visiting the public swim for about 2 years it's great. Only 2 issues I have is for the now £9.90 for one adult and one child, you should be able to swim/play all day like aztec swimming in Torquay. It used to be £7.60 2 years ago and now it's £9.90. Big price hike after they was closed for a refurb. Second issue is it could be a little warmer. Other than that it's great to learn to swim.

Positive experience: Used the soft play for the first time recently. Soft play itself was clean and hot drink from the cafe was lovely. However the service we received at reception was awful and for that reason I would not return. First impressions really count and this individual made ours a poor one.

Negative experience: Poor effort from the receptionist when I was asking for help. Hung up on me when I was still talking. Good excuse not to talk to them again

Negative experience: Once enjoyed visiting this gym with friends had a really bad experienced with cancelling membership since i had to pay extra for joining. highly advise not to use this gym there are better ones around.

Negative experience: Not very welcoming. Wouldn't give memberships to under 16s.

Negative experience: Extortionate parking fees alongside pricey facilities usage mean this is for the well off in my opinion. Promotes unhealthy community especially for over 50's whose precovid package has been slashed dropping numbers dramatically. NHS will get bigger queues as a result.

Fantastic experience: My granddaughter has swimming lessons with Sharon and absolutely loves it. Friendly staff and excellent value.

Positive experience: Went in to use the toilet. The cafe has snacks but no savoury (sandwiches etc.). Returned a different day later in the evening and cafe was closed so decided to use the vending machines - they have other snacks for good prices (£1 for a chocolate bar), with contactless payment.

Fantastic experience: Great pool! We popped here during our holiday for a swim with the family & it was perfect! We also used the velopark during Revolution Skates Veloskate & it was a brilliant outdoor space for skating!

Negative experience: Grumpy staff on reception unwilling to help. Phoned ahead to check opening times and prices, turned up and got money out to pay to be told card only (no mention of this when I phoned) I only had cash. Wouldn't even accept the cash of me personally to pay with their own card on my behalf.

Fantastic experience: Took my granddaughter for swimming lesson. Proud - she went up a group.

Negative experience: Went I to Reception to ask a few questions about what was on offer to be told It's on the website, the receptionist just repeated this even to the semester of answers. Not at all encouraged to use this centre at all. Not welcoming at all.

Fantastic experience: I Used the Astro pitch at rear and toilet facilities. A clean environment and helpful friendly staff. Car park charges are an inconvenience but it is a summer tourist location close to the sea and beach (5 minutes) large space for parking

Positive experience: Great little swim with my son. The children's end was a little cold and could feel cold water pumping in. Will be back though as son was able to enjoy playing without upsetting the serious swimmers.

Positive experience: It seemed nice with plenty of activities on offer but I was a little shocked that all payments are strictly by contactless card only.. even the Cafe. Visiting the Centre with local students with SEND needs this was offputting as most don't have access to contactless cards. We left shortly after.
