The Spa & Treatments at North Lakes Hotel: Opinions
Negative experience: Please note this is not a Spa. More like a leisure centre pool. Really loud with loads of children and parents screaming and shouting. No problem with people having fun but don't advertise as a Spa. Very far from a relaxing environment.
Positive experience: Average, not worth the money
Positive experience: Lovly place but the prices are unreal on drinks and food ..
Fantastic experience: Lovely staff and a lovely spa environment. Treatment was lovely and really helped ease tightness in my back and shoulders.
Positive experience: Friendly staff and good facilities but the treatment was quite lacklustre to say the least. I had a body scrub and wrap - there was no music to relax to which was then made worse by the fact a man was having a phone call right next to the treatment room and talking to staff (he was gone when I came out but judging by his 25min conversation he worked there so you’d have thought he might have known better…) and my therapist forgot to scrub one of my legs. A 55min decadent spa treatment turned into a 40min disappointing half done treatment and 15min very good head massage. To make it worse, came out to find two people who had the same treatment had additional relaxing sprays, additional scrub and relaxing music. Just a bit disappointing. On a positive note, very good lunch offered (although the restaurant staff were very disorganised), a great selection of refreshments available throughout the day and good pool/sauna facilities. Chloe was very excellent and did a fantastic job in making us feel welcome and special, she did my mums treatment which she said was amazing.
Fantastic experience: Gym and spa is very nice, spa staff are brilliant and helpful
Positive experience: Too many children
Fantastic experience: I was at North lakes on Saturday for my daughters wedding and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were very helpful and friendly
Fantastic experience: It's fantastic place
Negative experience: Facilities are reasonable. 2 stars have been rewarded due to the spa staffs incompetence to police the rules they have in place. There was a 5 year old child in the whirlpool without adult supervision, children in the steam/sauna room. Children jumping/diving into the pool -screaming was deplorable. Unruly children running up and down the halls late at night and early in the morning. My partner and I escaped London for the weekend to have a nice relaxing spa weekend at a health and spa hotel - we have now left feeling totally unrelaxed.
Positive experience: Staying here for a few nights, and the first night definitely impressed me. The outside of this hotel definitely doesn't reflect how beautiful the inside is. I walked into the reception and the rustic aesthetic and wood burning fire absolutely blew me away! The design, scents and lighting make the introduction an amazing experience. After signing in we made our way up to our room. First impressions of the room were okay, wasn't the biggest for a superior room and the design of the room was a little too modern/plain to fit the rest of the hotel. There wasn't much in the room, it seemed a little bare. The bathroom however was amazing, well designed with plenty of towels and space. The bed was extremely comfortable, pillows you sink into and a thick mattress. The room supplied robes and slippers in the wardrobe, which I thought was a lovely touch. There was a coffee machine with capsules and milk in the mini fridge. After getting set up we ventured down to the spa, and oh my! The pool is absolutely beautiful and it is attached to a baby pool and a spa pool. The blue lighting combined with the wooden roof gave off such a pleasant effect, making swimming very relaxing. The pool was surrounded by sun beds and chairs which were extremely comfy. The pictures are true to their word and the pool is gorgeous. After getting dried off and relaxing, we went down to the bar. Drinks were lovely and the bar was again, extremely nicely designed. Ordered four drinks in total and all of them came fast and tasted great. After that we went to go get dinner. Dining room was fairly empty and we managed to get a seat without bother. We were served quickly and ate a lovely starter of bread with butter and olive oil. After around 15 minutes of sitting next to the grill, it caught my breath and we sadly had to move. Food arrived quickly and it was presented nicely. The fish was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The dinner was definitely a 10/10. It was a little pricey but definitely worth it. Would definitely recommend a stay here and would give an overall 4/5 stars.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym and pool Its nice and warm Excellent facilities
