Negative experience: Signed up for a free day pass and called to make sure we would be able to use the gym that day. After wasting time and money travelling to the gym, we were then told that 24 hours notice was needed. Turned away and offered nothing in replacement.

Fantastic experience: Good gym, I visited with a Groupon voucher, good range of equipment and very good pool. Parking is free for 4h

Fantastic experience: Been coming to the village gym for a while now, but just recently started using the Hussle app. The gym is clean with plenty of equipment and Carol is always so friendly on reception.

Positive experience: Fire drill on Wednesday 27th November! Potential nightmare as was actually in the shower at the time. Thanks to Karen & Becca for their help, especially the “ space blanket” which was very much appreciated in the circumstances. They tried very hard to help the evacuation go smoothly. Management do however need to firm up their evacuation plans imho. Happy to discuss privately.

Fantastic experience: I have been coking to the village north for almost 15 years and I love it. The atmosphere- the friends I’ve made, the classes and the staff team. I’ve seen Ruth at the village over the last 12 years - she is such a helpful, friendly staff member, always working hard, especially paying attention to maintaining the changing room area to an exceptional standard. All staff are friendly and helpful and I wouldn’t consider changing to any other gym! I love it here

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for 23 years and swim most days. I am pleased the village now have dedicated cleaners as the cleanliness was my main issue,but has now been resolved. The poolside staff are lovely. Ruth always has a welcoming smile and is lovely to talk to, asking about the family and members who she no longer sees. The personal touch is appreciated. Alviro is very efficient and pleasant. It’s good to have Becky back from maternity leave

Fantastic experience: The thing I love the most about the Village is the strong sense of community. Always a smiling face to greet you, whether that's staff or members. Loads of positive changes are starting to filter through now, it feels like good energy. Louis is a fantastic fitness manager, always has time for everyone and gets any issues sorted.

Positive experience: Last week had a fabulous swim and steam 8am Sunday morning. So peaceful and so glad I chose that time. Steam nice and hot! Staff at reception super friendly: Josh and Becky. Just wish was a big longer but at 9.00 lots of kids arrived for lessons. But a great hour...highly recommend.

Positive experience: Can't get enough of this place! It's such a nice atmosphere and most people are very friendly and chatty. Plus it has one of the hottest saunas I've ever been in I still haven't found any other gym that tops it's temperature... Also a massive shout out to Ruth! Fantastic experience: The gym was okay , however there’s a very lack of cleanliness and energy in the staff , very ignorant and disrespectful staff ; many of the staff just sit at the reception gossiping and ignore the queues of customers , very bossy to ethnic minority colleagues which is quite appalling to see , however the only reason I can give 5 stars is due to the employee Ruth , she was very attentive , so kind and aware of what is wrong and is quick to sort it out , she is so warm with her welcoming smile . Aswel as this she’s very attentive with cleanliness of the place , attending where needed . Although I see a lot of mistreatment of Ruth in village by other employees she continues to persevere and work with a bright smile on her face and never allows it to decrease her hard work . Ruth Is amazing

Fantastic experience: As a long term Village member, and one not prone to writing reviews, I feel compelled to say how delighted I am with the improvements over the last few weeks. It's like a new place! The improvements to cleanliness, to lighting, to the repairs of the gym equipment and the friendly new staff. Glad that some of the lovely old staff are still there and the classes are as good as ever. Well done to the new management !

Negative experience: I’m leaving a 1 star review, because i have been comming to village gym for a very long time. And being paying over £60+ per month for the membership. Just to be denied access to some of the rooms. Especially the Burn Room. I think the justification the staff have made that some of the people leave it a mess. Has nothing to do with me. I’m very unhappy with not being able to access this room in the gym. That was a selling point for me.

Negative experience: Concerned that there is no longer access to the burn room. One of the primary reasons I visited the gym—which has since compelled me to find another place to conduct business. Only a few of the employees have truly been helpful and courteous, whereas one of them acts egotistically not only towards me but also towards my friends who train here. Prefer joining the gym group or visiting a real boxing gym lately.

Negative experience: Although the gym facilities and spa area can sometimes feel crowded and not always as clean as I’d like, I want to give a special shout-out to Ruth at Village Gym. Ruth’s professionalism and friendliness always stand out, and she’s truly an asset to the team. She consistently ensures the pool equipment is in perfect condition and is always ready to offer helpful advice. What I appreciate most is how attentive she is to the needs of everyone in the area, making sure we all feel safe and comfortable. Negative experience: Appalled at the fact the burn room is no longer available. One of the main reasons I went to the gym which has now forced me to take my business elsewhere. Have only had a couple members of staff actually be polite and useful whereas one of them acts arrogantly not just towards me - but my friends who train here too. Prefer going to an actual boxing gym now or going to the gym group.

Positive experience: The saunas were extremely overcrowded on Sunday night. The water in jacuzzi’s was dirty, with pieces of paper flowing in the water. In the finish sauna, people were not taking their slippers off before going in, making the wooden benches disgustingly dirty and wet. Plus, men kept pouring water from the bottle on themselves, making the sauna room even more unhygienic. Few pepper were using personal towels for the finish sauna, to prevent the wood getting wet by their wet suits after swimming in the swimming pool. I’d like to encourage the management of the Village Gym North to introduce signs educating the sauna users about the basic sauna manners. Plus, it would save you money having to replace the wood in finish sauna within a few years. Three stars, as this is the only place in Leeds that has something close to proper quality sauna experience.

Negative experience: Joined up for the gym and Sauna. Gym is okay and has everything needed to train. Complaint is regarding the Sauna. For the amount of members they have its way too small and on more than one occasion it has absolutely stunk. Cleanliness needs to be prioritised

Fantastic experience: Box n Burn this morning - members event. A little bit of everything in this class! Boxing/weights/sled run etc. It was tough (for me) but really enjoyed it. Thank you to Louis for a great class who is always friendly, professional and motivational :) Would also like to say that I disagree with above comments regarding staff on reception being unfriendly and ignoring people walking past. I have always found them to be friendly and polite :) Village Leeds North is a great gym!

Fantastic experience: Nice facilities with a lovely atmosphere. Credit to Susie at the gym reception always giving a warm welcome to the club and happy to answer any questions. Highly recommend the club to anyone!

Negative experience: Signed up to this gym and was told if I switch from my current gym I would only have to pay £5 for my first month. Being a student with little money I thought this was a good deal. When signing up on the phone I was never told I would be tied into a 3 month contract totalling over £120. The 3 times I went to the gym the equipment was ripped in certain places. The floor looked tacky and unmaintained. There was a traffic cone in the middle of the gym every-time I was there due to the state of the floor. As for the actual gym equipment it was substandard and I used better gym equipment at the gym group down the road for £13 a month. I will say the sauna is decent, but still not much and the pool is average other than that don’t waste your money here. I now also get around 3 calls a day from there debt recovery team demanding money for a substandard membership of a gym I never went to.

Negative experience: Joined for 3 months to see if a yearly membership is a good idea. The gym equipment is very good. The staff are not very friendly don't acknowledge members on entering or leaving, several stood by the reception desk ignoring people queuing. Customer service definitely needs to improve.

Negative experience: It's a nice place. I used to come here once, a maximum of twice a month with a daily pass for the sauna only, but in the past week I got banned as I was "blocking the equipment" from members because if they would let daily pass buyers come as many times as they would wish it would hurt the members. This would be true if the membership wouldn't be worth the 3 monthly visits. So, if someone is not buying a membership (s)he would come - most probably - less than 3 times a month. But, on those 2 occasions (s)he would certainly block the equipment from the members. Nonsense. My father-in-law wanted to become a member, but now he won't. If you add my occasional visits it's minus ca. 1.2k yearly. Minus my other family members... So, I guess it's easily minus 2-2.5k annually. Interesting management strategy.‍♂️ If you visit the place with a daily pass more than once, you may expect to be banned for 90 days. No one will brief you about this though. This is specific to this Village Gym.

Fantastic experience: Been a member for a number of years now very pleasant gym. Recently been refurbished and is always clean and tidy. Excellent gym facilities and lovely members aswell. Would like to give elesha a special mention as she is always very helpful and is always a happy face goes above and beyond like the time she helped me master a back flip and tips how to do it safely. Elesha is not the only helpful gym staff there is also josh and Georgia who are always on hand if I ever need anything. Thanks guys for making this gym the best in leeds in my opinion

Fantastic experience: I recently attended the village hotel at north Leeds for the first time and I was nervous about using the facilities, My worries were quashed instantly by two staff members who I am led to believe were Georgia and Elleshe, their pleasant manner put me at ease, and made my visit so nice and memorable, to the extent that I am thinking of becoming a member, these young ladies are a credit to your establishment.

Fantastic experience: Been a member a few years now and over the last few months I've seen a real change in the cleanliness of the male changing rooms thanks to Jose. I can't not leave a review without mentioning Alvaro as that lad is always busy cleaning etc. Further to the above there are two young Girls who are always busy working and cleaning. Fantastic experience: Been a member for a year now . A nice gym with a good ambience and plenty of equipment. Was completely lost in the first few months but after taking PT sessions with Will Jones I’ve found my way again. Will has been amazing ,he’s made a personal programme for me after we both agreed upon what I wanted in terms of fitness. He’s made sure that I progress in every session we do . It’s been a great journey so far and the results are now starting to show , can’t find any faults with the gym and a special thanks to will for being absolutely professional and amazing

Negative experience: The woman behind the gym counter with blonde hair was very rude towards me and my friend and talked to us with an attitude with being new customers, this was not a good impression. Was not happy at all and then when leaving I was told to leave the locker band and all I got was was a face like a slapped a*s and got ‘yeah whatever’. Was very disappointed!

Fantastic experience: As a 1st ever Aqua Areobics attendee, I found Hayle Booth an amazing Aqua Areobics teacher. My first ever class was last week. She greeted me so warmly, I felt part of the group immediately. Throughout the class, she touched base with me, without anyone else knowing, I could follow everything because she is so descriptive and animated in her actions. She makes it so interesting, dividing the class into three sections, making excellent use of the pool while giving the an opportunity to, choose. Her animated movement, keeps the three groups constantly changing excersises, and keeps us smiling. The 45 min class flys by, suddenly you realise you did all, excersising every muscel group.. If like me youre feeling tired at the start of the class, by the end, the endorphins are in full flow, leaving you feeling great, stronger, healthier and happy. Yesterday's class was even better, if that's possible. Oh I'm booked for next week. Thank you Hailey

The gym itself has all the facilities I need, and I really like Toryn's approach which helps keep me motivated, challenging and encouraging me.

Fantastic experience: Very happy with my experience at the village gym. Gym floor has all the equipment I need, never too crowded. They have a wide variety of clases. Diferente Spaces free to use, cycle, boxing etc. most times I can enjoy the burn studio on my own. Regarding the swimming pool, special mention to Avaro, he’s always friendly and helpful. Pool side is also clean and tidy.

The classes are invigorating, well-structured, and provided a fantastic workout without the strain that often comes with traditional gym work, i.e. heavy lifting and other cardio. One of the standout features of this class is our incredible instructor, Hayley Booth. Hayley’s enthusiasm and expertise is evident, she has a unique ability to create a welcoming and motivating environment for participants of all fitness levels, and caters for those with disabilities and medical issues. She provides clear and concise instructions makes it easy to follow along, even for those new to aqua aerobics. What truly sets Hayley apart is her attention to detail and personalised approach. Hayley takes time to ensure that everyone in the class is performing the exercises correctly, offering modifications when necessary and encouraging us to push ourselves while still respecting our individual limits. Her upbeat personality and positive energy is contagious, making the workout both fun and challenging. The classes are well-paced and varied, incorporating a mix of cardio, strength training, and flexibility exercises. The use of water resistance adds an extra layer of intensity, The music selection is always upbeat and perfectly timed to the movements, keeping the energy high throughout the session. By the end of the class you feel thoroughly worked out but also refreshed and rejuvenated. It’s clear that Hayley puts a lot of thought and effort into planning each session to ensure it’s both effective and enjoyable. I highly recommend the Aqua Aerobics class to anyone looking for a fun and effective way to stay fit, build muscle and maintain weight loss. Fantastic experience: Love Hayley's Aqua classes. Music is varied and great to sing along to and classes are different each time but using moves we are familiar with. Great atmosphere and a great instructor.
