Cardigan Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre

Negative experience: Joined the gym for a month. Won't be going back. Resistance machine room.. rusty and dilapidated, barely or non-functioning equipment. Weights room.. rusty, covered in black mould and always having to tidy up other people's sessions. Disgusting. Sort it out people. I've used infinitely better facilities in third world countries. Dread to think what necrotic foot fungus comes from using the pool.

Positive experience: A nice community run pool, it's generally clean and a fun pool. It's a small 25m pool with small changing rooms. We visited on a busy afternoon and the changing rooms and pool were packed. Many of the lockers keys in both changing rooms had broken wristbands. When we visited the lifeguards seemed somewhat more to interested in chatting with one another rather than watching the pool. Exercise caution if visiting with young kids/ non swimmers.

Fantastic experience: The staff here are wonderfully friendly and always take the time to make their visitors feel welcome.

Fantastic experience: Basic facilities but the staff here are brilliant and everyone had great fun and the pools are well supervised.

Negative experience: Very unhelpful, asked for change for parking and was refused asked if they could advise where to get change still no help , so left town and went elsewhere

Negative experience: Not impressed. Expensive, charged for parking and it was run down. In addition, lanes were not identified and I had to contend with two women swimming side by side as they talked and swam extremely slowly.

Positive experience: Decent size main pool and with a smaller, much warmer pool for younger kids. All clean and tidy but looking a little tired.

Positive experience: Very basic but clean. If you go midweek during the day you'll have the pool to yourself! I recommend the therapy pool in particular. The temperature is ideal. I do leg strengthening exercises there.

Positive experience: Customer service needs improving. Visited last week and whilst trying to pay, a senior member of staff rudely interrupted with details of change of shift end time, annoyed the staff serving me and she walked off telling someone else to deal with us! I figured we walked in on a busy time and thought no more of it. Wanted to visit again but with going back into term time I rang to check open times for that day. Got told the public swim hours. Said we would visit later. Got kids ready and drove to town, paid for parking and went in to be greeted by open doors, blaring music, painting, cleaning products lying around and to be told the whole building was closed for painting! Said I rang this morning to check times and was not told about the closure. Got 2 remarks from the staff of "Well it wasn't me!" and "I've only just got in!" I wouldn't have minded so much if there had been any form of apology. If I find somewhere else suitable to take my young kids swimming then I'm not sure I'll return to this pool! such a shame as I grew up swimming here every week!

Positive experience: Two swimming pools run by a charity. Nothing special but did enjoy our time here with the kids, staff are helpful and the price was very good.

Positive experience: Traditional pool, charmingly old fashioned but children's pool was nice and warm and changing rooms were small but clean.

Fantastic experience: The only thing letting this place down is funding the manage does a great job with what she's got. The pools are great and the sports hall and fittness room are well purposed.

Fantastic experience: Super friendly staff and great facilities, can already see the great improvements the new management team have made. This charitable trust is a hub for Cardigan and welcomes visitors of all ages and abilities. Can’t recommend this place enough. 6 stars.

Positive experience: Good Carpark for access to the town centre, cant comment on the leisure centre though.

Negative experience: Awful experience having been double booked twice for my son's 3rd birthday party prior to turning up can you imagine ours and his devastation when we were told his party had been double booked on the day and there was a party already taking place in the room... Staff were apologetic but at 3 years old you don't understand that your party is not taking place. Luckily we found somewhere that could accommodate us at extremely short notice, we will be writing a letter of complaint and do expect our out of pocket expenses to be covered, avoid at all costs unless you want your child distraught.

Positive experience: Great little place on our doorsteps, under new management as of this week! It's a struggling facility that really does it's best, has lots of good classes on and I love using the pool, me like many others would be devastated if we lost this. Please Support Your Local Pool!

Positive experience: Hydrotherapy pool is brilliant for my son but it gets a bit busy around 10.30am on wet weekends.

Fantastic experience: I believe there was some confusion when I wore my cardigan to the swimming pool, indeed I received some less-than-pleasurable glances from the local inhabitants. For centuries these people have been mocked with tourists coming in fully cardigan-clad and bad dad jokes that make nobody glad just the locals mad. Maybe I should stop reviewing this whimsical swimming pool and start my rap career. Brb getting signed.
