Positive experience: Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I just joined and I had an induction with Richard who was lovely and explained all of the machines

Positive experience: Visited the gym here, good selection of equipment, however the Aircon can be a bit cold on some days

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, clean and spacious gym.

Positive experience: Don't expect touch and you won't be disappointed. Never busy, but in need of some funding to bring it back to its best. However functional and still offers what's required to complete the job. Reference point , there's a new nursery setup as from summer24

Positive experience: Staff are very friendly, the building has some well kept facilities. It offers a variety of classes and activities. The car park is a very good size as it does get busy. I've thoroughly enjoyed using the gym which is kept at a nice temperature and offers some well kept equipment. The only thing I will say is that the sink water temperature in the ladies toilet is very hot, sometimes too hot to use and the pressure of the taps is a bit all over the place. One likes to give you a shower and another doesn't give you enough water. But other than that a great Leisure Centre.

Fantastic experience: Visited the day centre

Negative experience: Leisure center is somewhere outside of city and harder to reach there by public mode. I played badminton, room is closed one and smell very bad because of sweating. Needs proper ventilation.

Positive experience: I'm attending group classes regularly and I like it. They can also organise children parties with bouncy castles. A tea/coffee place is missing there.

Positive experience: Great space with Mayfield park across the road. Shame the grass is too long. Not sure who's responsible for cutting it.

Negative experience: Poorly equipped gym, no water cups for the water fountain, no water bottles in the vending machine (only chocolates in a venue that should promote health) and in the end I was told I can't even buy a branded water bottle bottle as they don't have any! Every gym I have ever visited I had an option of all the things I was unable to obtain here. Maybe a good idea to get water bottles or cups for the fountain when this location get a much needed revamp.

Positive experience: Its okay, the gym is passable but there is no pool and the gym that is there is tiny with outdated equipment.

Positive experience: I go to this gym nearly every day and to be honest if i was rating the staff id have given them 5 stars as there all really helpful and friendly. Litterally every time it rains heavily the roof leaks and floods the gym active nation obviously dont want to spend the money to fix the problem so the just Corden off equipment and dry it out. Ive complained about faulty machines and benches loads of times and they just bodge things rather than replace or fix properly. They are a multi million pound company who obviously dont value there customers.

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff and facility, All of the classes are very enjoyable & fun. The overall cleanliness of the building is very good, and the resident gym instructor "Liam" is very helpful and knowledgeable. I am very impressed and will come again.

Positive experience: Very friendly staff. Good selection of courses with engaging instructors. Clean. Nice changing room and showers. Ample parking. Not too crowded. Good personal feel and connections. Gym and exercise rooms too cold.

Negative experience: Would NOT recommend a party here! Was waiting half hour for the party before us to leave they ran over which means the room wasn't clean rubbish everywhere, sick on the soft play! Staff wasn't that helpful! Very disappointed!

Positive experience: Have been here for physio several times in the past. Have not used all their facilities but was a nice clean building with friendly staff. Lots of parking available and looks to have lots of activities and clubs for the kids and adult classes also. Would definitely visit again.

Negative experience: No classes for the diasbled or less abled, which in this day and age is disgraceful. I had to put one star to leave a review, but it doesn't deserve this. In order to use the gym equipment safely you have to pay £20 for a full description on what each piece is for and how to use safely & properly, this should be free under Health & Safety Regulations.

Fantastic experience: Great. Just need lockers in changing room to save carrying it in showers or risk having it taken. Good gym and large sports hall. Vending machines. And a slimming world group. Small selection of gym gear onsale. Large carpark.

Positive experience: Affordable gym, friendly staff, can usually get on machines without too many crowds. Loses 1 star for state of lockers, many of which don't work.

Positive experience: I regularly exercise at Chamberlayne leisure centre. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The aerobics instructors always get everyone motivated and general feel is very friendly and relaxed. The main let down is the toilets which are continually blocked, only one of the showers works properly but tends to pour out cool water. The hairdryers are regularly faulty.
