PureGym Blackburn The Mall

Positive experience: I've been going for the past 8 weeks and I do like it as it is a no-nonsense gym with no posers or tik-tockers. Only slight gripe is that the paper towels need to be refilled more often.

Negative experience: This is the worst gym I have ever been to. Too many people get signed up and they all turn up at the same time. Eqp availability is very less and some people dont have courtesy to use deo, it stinks there mostly. The air con / exhaust is non existent. Complaining to management falls on deaf ears. The owner needs to take this seriously!

Negative experience: Well equipped gym. However gym atmosphere is very poor. Seems to be over crowded most of the times. College students probably even school students up to no good. Seen one student vaping in the gym too. Poor gym etiquette. Can’t even find weights when you need them. Need staff to monitor and control.

Fantastic experience: A HUGE gym. I’ve been to many puregyms in my life, this is definitely one of the biggest. Plenty of equipment and it’s clean, spacious and genuinely has a good gym atmosphere. I wish this was my local gym! The changing rooms were clean, and showers well maintained and private

Negative experience: Good gym but let down by most who use it. Constantly was going in and finding college students sat around on equipment and not using it. Nobody puts weights back so have to travel around the whole gym to find what you need. Really poor considering all the alternatives you have now. Staff are few and far between and try their best but need to be a bit stricter. Went to a newer gym out of town and gym etiquette is miles better.

Always on hand too offer his support and advise. Makes the gym a very welcoming place. His classes also had me stiff for days!!!!!

Positive experience: Good gym but gets extremely busy with people throwing weights all over the place. Gym etiquette is very poor and no staff there to really police it, just a white board which says "5 day ban if you don't put weights away", obviously nobody is going to pay attention to that.

Positive experience: It's bigger than the other PG sites I have attended. Much more spacious. The car parking a bit weird when you go first time. I love the hunt the weight on the dumbell rack that's fun. There are a lot of dumbells!

Negative experience: I pay extra to visit any Puregym as I travel everywhere for work. Upon entering it had a funny smell, changing rooms are not sign posted. Walking into the changing rooms it stunk of sewage. There were a few staff around and there was a particular gym member who was dangerously using the machines to a point he will mess himself up, he then followed this up with deadlifts but dropping the barbell with only 20 on either side everytime at the top of his deadlift but yet no staff said anything. One of the classes started whilst there and the music was so loud i could not hear my headphones which has noise cancellation built in. Overall this is not a Puregym I will visit again you need to do better

Fantastic experience: The gym is clean and the members are friendly. The PTs are all helpful and the classes challenging and enjoyable. There’s a good selection of equipment. Parking is handy and free. The app shows how many people are in the gym so you can plan.

Negative experience: Air conditioning has not been working for over a year and they are not even bothered to fix it even with all the complains they have received during the heatwave. It is like working out in a greenhouse . A definitive inspection is needed as this is below standards.

Negative experience: 1st time at this gym. Started workout on bench straight away asked how many sets i had left!! Went over to start my 2nd routine on cable, did 1 set and while i rested, someone came and just started their workout, without even asking if I'd finished. Packed my stuff up and went. Shocking gym

Positive experience: A great gym with a variety of equipment, friendly staff and affordable memberships. However, some of the members have little to no respect for the facilities, leaving weights all over the place, including where you would walk, and rubbish such as empty water bottles and chewing gum is discarded on equipment and the floor, despite there being multiple bins accessible. There are signs clearly stating to return weights, but this just doesn’t happen. It’s scruffy and unfair to other paying members. I enjoy attending as the location is great and there’s lots of options for classes and independent work outs, but the other members really need to learn some respect and care for their surroundings.

Negative experience: Awful experience. Gym equipment in the wrong places. Overcrowded. No cancel option on the website. No ability of the staff to help you cancel your membership. The gym tries to charge you even after you stopped going and paying. Absolute sham of a gym

Negative experience: Good gym but was unbearable after a while due to the stupidly loud music. Would consider rejoining if it wasn’t for this major pain point. Membership cancellation is quite bad too and has to be done weeks in advance or you pay for another month.

Fantastic experience: First day, brilliant service by one of the PTs Jacob. Showed me everything and took extra time to show me some of the machines. Will be using the gym now regularly.

Fantastic experience: Became a member of Pure Gym this week after avoiding a gym setting for some time.I have never been to a friendlier and nicer gym before!The staff are all lovely and it seems like they know their members personally.The gym is huge and well designed so at no point do you feel cramped and even when it is busy,it doesn't feel busy.Loads of classes to choose from!Female only area if that is more comfortable.Large locker rooms and showers.The Pure Gym app is really easy to use.2 hours free parking at this particular gym which is ideal.Cannot recommend highly enough!

Fantastic experience: This gym has become a second home to me, I always feel welcome and have the space to do my exercising without judgment. Staff and PTs are always available and attentive to my needs - the experiences has been so great that it inspired me to become a PT myself, I have joined the Pure gym academy and will be working hard to work as a PT within these gyms. A wonderful place!

Fantastic experience: PureGym is brilliant it's clean ,staff are very friendly ,are always happy to help and take good care of the gym and it's well equipt in the women's and main shared sections .I really enjoy my session there everyday and I love that it's open 24/7 I'm seeing some really good body image and results on myself and it's been really good for my mental health and worries as it's my happy place

Fantastic experience: The only criticism I have about this gym at all is in relation to the accessible shower, the grab rails have no textured grips making them less than safe to use while wet (which is inevitable after showering)
