PureGym Walsall Crown Wharf

Negative experience: Parking is a major issue. The last few times I’ve been, their printer has been out of paper so I haven’t been able to validate my parking leading to me paying for parking. Looking for another gym currently.

Fantastic experience: Love coming workout and it offers 90 minutes free car parking

Negative experience: The equipment appears outdated, with limited variety in machines for different exercises. The space feels small relative to the number of customers, and the staff’s demeanor doesn’t seem particularly friendly. Overall, the atmosphere in the gym doesn’t feel welcoming or conducive to a positive experience."

Positive experience: A nice gym, can often get crowded tho, resulting in certain people interrupting your exercises by asking the worn out question "how many reps/sets you got left?" When you've only just started using the machine. Other than that most people leave you alone. As for the app you have to use to get in, I don't like it because the warm up/cool exercises it tells you to do moves that often looks silly. My advice would be to create your own plan. Or if you can afford it, hire one of the personal trainers who may have better advice than the app.

Negative experience: Better off dancing in the carpark. The place stinks

Negative experience: The worst Puregym branch to be honest. On multiple occasions including this morning, I have booked in for the 7:15am circuits class only to arrive and find there is no set up for the class on the studio floor again. I've asked the PT running the class and he's nonchalantly said "we don't run classes if only 1 person is booked on". This is an ongoing issue with this Puregym branch because for one, as a paying customer these classes are part of the membership. But secondly, it's complete lack of respect for someone's time when you've woken up early and made the effort to drive 15-20 mins to be on time for 7/7:15am classes. When I've tried to complain to the manager as a previous PT had the same notion and once demanded members to pay £5 each to him to go ahead with the class (this was a 10am circuit class on Saturdays a few months ago) he brushes it off. I would respect it if they canceled the class ahead of time due to low sign ups as that would save someone time and not bother make the journey. Some of the PT's there are lovely and really care about the members. However others just do as they please and show a total lack of respect to members.

Fantastic experience: Totally recommend Isobelle PT, such an incredible individual. So motivational, inspiring and loves to challenge her clients and aim highest always. I have throughly enjoyed the past few months training. I have overcome gym anxiety and overall positive body positivity. Totally recommend .

Negative experience: Music was so loud that I couldn't hear anything the trainer said

Negative experience: The cleontel are mainly pumped on steroids and come out looking like the ribena man, stay well clear, over sized mutant club.

Fantastic experience: PureGym Walsall great gym love how it's tidy for members to have a nice workout. I must say i'm happy that it has all the dumbells it has all different dumbell kgs 5kg 12.5kg etc. And i loved the studio it was a nice spacous place to have a peacefull session or streatching.

Negative experience: Too busy. 1 flat barbell bench only. Loads of kids chilling if you go at 5. Someone also wears old spice deodorant and its got me like George Floyd mid set when they walk past. Wouldn’t recommend.

Positive experience: I normally go to NRG gym and used to go to the old Pure Gym in Park Street. I wasn't sure I would like this new one level open plan gym, but I must confess I do like it. Will update this when I've been a few more times as only been x 3

Fantastic experience: LBT class with Stephen on Tuesdays are amazing. Great variety of exercises, Stephen keeps the motivation up and the dynamic of the whole class is just brilliant. You may be a little bit sore afterwards but it’s soo worth it!

Positive experience: Clean gym but every time I have been had to wait around to use equipment. For the size of the gym could easily fit a fair few more workout machines lots of empty space that nobody uses. Never seen any staff in there being going 2 weeks and I'm still having to pay for parking because I don't no how to put my details to get free parking, no staff about to show me etc . Don't think il be at this gym much longer if I'm honest

Negative experience: Came to get some more information before joining the gym, there was a button for assistance I pressed twice waited 10 minutes, unfortunately nobody show up or respond. Very disappointed.

Negative experience: Parking validation doesn't work rarely there is paper in printer. If you go in the morning not staff available you have to wait till 6am since somebody from staff comes and put the paper in the printer. Otherwise parking ticket will be issued. Email manager about the issue 2 times but nothing been sorted.

Negative experience: Not many equipments, too busy even when not busy(I mean the equipments) and 90mins free parking is not enough at all. I just used a day pass with O2(for £1) so I am happy thay did not buy the membership pass.

Negative experience: Pure Gym Classes cancelled without any notifications on the app, several members turning up to no instructor. Been happening for the past 5 months with no sign of improvement, diabolical.

Negative experience: Parking validation has worked once in 4 visits. I tend to visit at quieter times when the staff are finishing their shift, the emergency contact number goes through to someone who tells you to take the fine and dispute it with PureGym please fix your validation printer - update 01.08.23 I have actually been asked to dispute by group nexus and PureGym so using the puregym app I have managed to supply gym usage times … fingers crossed

Positive experience: Had to transfer to another puregym in nearby Wolverhampton. To many other members in this gym with an aragent attitude with no courtesy. Some of the staff turn a blind eye to it. Some of the staff ok though. Equipment well maintained aswel tbf

Fantastic experience: Good environment, the only downside is 90 minutes strict parking timings.

Negative experience: Would give zero stars if possible would advise to stay away unless you want to deal with the constant broken parking ticket machine in the gym you are then advised to leave your registration details on a piece of paper so it can be forwarded to the parking company 4 weeks later and 2 fines for £60 each posted through my door. No help from pure gym even though it is their fault and constant back and forth with customer service who continue to tell you they are not responsible for parking fines even though it is pure gym machine that was broke not worth the hassle clearly

Negative experience: ❌Worsted gym ever❌ 1. Very small! 2. No air conditioners! 3. Machines are very close to each other u can smell others breathing! 4. Not many machines there u have to wait for others to finish their lesson then u can start when ever they leave ! 5. No enough space to take any activity!!!! 6 . Wasting money to pay for that gym there . Very disappointed For everyone that don’t know about that gym have a look from the window u can see and believe in reviews. Not recommend at all is very difficult to find ur self relaxed in any activity there.

Positive experience: The smallest pure gym I have been to! However it is very clean inside and with 90 mins free parking it’s better than nothing. Reasons for not giving 5 stars: being smaller means less equipment, so can be difficult when going with a plan set what to work on. I hope they move and take the tui building opposite the retail park. That could be a bigger space and their own car park. Apart from that it’s been convenient and I like how they have all the newer machines compared to my last gym in altrincham. Just wish members would put the weights back after use.

Negative experience: Creeps at the gym, contacted puregym via email and were no help at all. Also don't bother getting a monthly membership as it is almost impossible to cancel! Tiny gym, can't ever get in contact with anyone who works for puregym whether it's via call or email. I will not be returning to this gym, save your money and look elsewhere.

Negative experience: Probably the worst gym I've ever been a member of and i've used basically every gym surrounding the Walsall town centre area. As well as the gym being terrible, you will inevitably get a parking ticket because the parking system is a joke. Avoid this gym unless you don't care about getting fit. If your goal is to hate going to the gym then I'd recommend.

Negative experience: Gym is OK, constant pointless emails are annoying and you won't stop sending them despite unsubscribing.

Positive experience: Variety of equipment is good, free weights area is a bit small couldn't be bigger seems enough room for more benches if extended..... the main thing is the parking, u pay a membership then parking on top pure gym in Nuneaton validates parking for the carpark cant walsall do the same

Fantastic experience: Perfect gym for all ages and cultures

Positive experience: 1st day there and I went to their old premises where they use to be, this has not been updated on Google so I missed my fitness class. Gym is small and cramped and upon reading the reviews parking seems to be an issue. The PT didn't acknowledge me as I was having issues with entering the gym. I just haven't had the best experience here. I have emailed the gym about my experience and they will investigate further

Fantastic experience: Much better than the old Walsall PureGym. The new club is located in the Crown Wharf and you also get 90 minutes free parking. Just remember to take your ticket upon exiting the gym and validate it outside. There’s also Aldi right next to the gym so you can do your shopping after your workout which is very convenient. The gym itself is clean, with plenty of equipment, layout is good and the staff are friendly.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff that you can approach and will happily help with anything you’re unsure of and you won’t get judged! - haven’t got round to doing one of the classes you can book but by the looks of them they do get you moving! Cleaning stations around the gym so you can wipe over machines as you please. Always getting a smile or a hello whenever I walk in. Although there can be a few rude people in the gym, but hey! That’s not the gyms fault at all!!!

Positive experience: Nice and fresh gym with new equipment with excellent cleanliness. Can be very busy between 5 to 7.30 pm. And free parking limited to 90 minutes only.

Positive experience: Not a bad gym considering all the equipment is nice and new and the layout is well managed, however, there is no customer WiFi which is given in other gyms such as nrg, the air conditioning doesn't do it's job as it's unbelievably hot in there and also staff do not greet you at all when confronted with them.

Positive experience: Well the commercial British gyms will be always a mess up,because of the savage culture, no one put back the weights ,dirty gym equipment, shoes, some of them smell very bad...and so on. The Male shower rooms, dirty, spitting and mucous all over the walls, specialy the ...x people ...90% of the members they have no ideas why are they doing in the gym. So, can this be improved?Unfortunately, never! When you have the chance to visit other countries, just check the gym ,people and gym culture, then you'll se the difference...

Negative experience: The most inconsiderate gym members, always leaving plates on bars. The gym management always sitting down not ever speaking to members, no good mornings or hellos, nor sorting out the issues or tidying the gym. Only 90 mins parking which doesn’t allow for a proper session and shower. (The PT Rich seems to be the only active one and assuming he’s not even employed by PUREGYM).

Negative experience: This new gym is smaller, with less equipment and the design isnt great. Prefer the old gym, membership cancelled

Positive experience: Some of the machine presses missing and when I have to use the studio for yoga other exercises it is closed or having a class in it

Negative experience: I have no Idea why you guys decided to move gyms in the 1st place as so many people are complaining about the way it is set out, lack of equipment's and how it are is so exposed. You guys need to reinstall some of the "missing equipment's" from the old gym e.g. back machines/ tri machines etc and I have no idea why you decided to replace those machines with unnecessary amount of bench machines. I will give it a month or so as I am aware that you guys are still new and trying to figure things out. I hope you take our feedbacks seriously and do something about it because by the looks of it you are going to be losing a lot of clients! Thanks. P.s I can not speak to the gym manager as my visiting times are late ( 9pm + )

Negative experience: Puregrim.....this gym is clearly smaller than the old one with a lack of equipment which is spaced around with a lack of privacy. It's already falling apart as I understand the flooring needs repair from the big egos who run it. I had experienced some courtesy from a couple of staff on the day it opened however, I overheard one pt asking a female to take his details and "to slide into his DMs" then a total disregard from a male manager who was just too invested in trying to give some freebies to a female and ignoring me. Thank you for making me feel so welcome. I have joined a gym far superior. You have lost more customers.

Negative experience: Small, over crowded and completely exposed to hundreds of people walking past now..I don't know why they moved .

Negative experience: the old gym location was so much better, it was private, more spacious, not people asking how many sets u have left. Very sad to see u move to the crown wharf. Too overcrowded wasted space = gym membership cancelled

Negative experience: Hate the new gym. Was going to the old location which had a lot of space, privacy and good layout. It’s now overcrowded with less machines and people on top of each other and going there is now a waste of time. Why did you move? Such a shame.

Negative experience: Great they’ve had a refresh but at what cost. The main concern is that exposed window. I’m a moderate confident gym goer but even that puts me off. The reason I liked the old gym was purely based on the fact it was closed off from the rest of humanity. I don’t mind my fellow gym people watch me sweat and struggle, but I don’t want outsiders up in my business.

Negative experience: What an absolute shame they moved to Crown wharf into an over crowded, small and exposed to public premises. They've also halved the amount of cardio machines. And took away some really good weight resistant machines. After 10 years of coming here, more recently bringing my son too. We last night cancelled our memberships. What an absolute shame. Autumn leaves were blowing onto the machines. Thats our exposed the place is. Every machine you go on, a face appears to ask how long your going to be on the machine. Complete suicide by puregym.

Fantastic experience: plenty of equipment, check the app to see how busy it is at the time you are planning to go to avoid the people moaning of how packed the gym can get. the classes are great. the changing facilities are fairly decent too. only downfall is the parking situation but that is out of the gyms control.

Negative experience: Since the gym moved there never seems to be any equipment available! There are less weight machines too. I can only go at certain times because of the shifts I work but both times I can go you can’t get on anything. Such a shame I loved the old gym this one is too small.

Fantastic experience: Top notch for cardio exercises, plenty of treadmills, cross trainers, stairmasters, rowing machines and bikes. Weight machines are plentiful and diverse, although some are a little busy during peak times (5-7pm), but for the price it's amazing value and open 24/7 to accommodate for everyone.

Positive experience: Nice gym, weight area is a bit small but for out of hours sessions is more than enough. Missing a few equipment like the barbell preacher curl seat and the hack squat.
