Positive experience: Good gym just a real lack of weight training machines for legs and arms. Likewise with cardio so many treadmills but lack of bikes and cross runners. Staff are always friendly and welcoming which is what is needed in a gym for those nervous first timers

Positive experience: unfortunately no staff here when my friends and I arrived around 10.30pm, not a 24/7 gym

This is outlined on the gyms web page and we ask that all members make themselves familiar with these and the emergency procedures. Fantastic experience: Pretty good gym to be honest with lots of different equipment but lacks a few machines like the chest supported Tbar row, but the rest is great so far!

Positive experience: Price is good and equipment is decent as long as you can tolerate all the teenies posing for selfies and sitting on kit to message each other.

Positive experience: Not my home Puregym but had access while renovations ongoing at my usual. Good range of equipment like all Puregyms. Not too busy when I visited around 8.30am on Saturday. Studio area was too dark, led lighting round the room in a blue colour and some spots. Was like a night club ♂️

Negative experience: Beautiful gym but is not the right place for a good legs day workout. Only one hamstring machine in the entire gym.

Fantastic experience: I left my first review a couple of months ago just after moving here from another gym, and I have decided to post an update (which means I must delete the previous review, which was already very positive) now that I have nearly four months attendance here. My first impressions have been confirmed in every respect, I am delighted with my experience here. The staff are friendly, professional, and genuinely interested in helping me – they are all a credit to PureGym and have given me invaluable advice and support. I have also been attending the spin classes regularly, so the various session leaders deserve a big thank you too. The facilities are excellent, I appreciate also the spacious layout, there is no crowding and plenty of space for all the activities. The atmosphere is just what I like - cool, friendly and relaxed, there are no oversized egos grunting and groaning and invading your personal space. So 10/10 again, and a huge thank you to the team with whom I have had contact and who have made my first months so rewarding – in no particular order – Lindsay, Ben, Carlo, Zack, Ceri, Ally, Holly, Aleksandra. Well done!

Positive experience: Adequate machines and up to 50kg dumbbells, certain afternoons can get really busy, so better be versatile with your training program.

Negative experience: Rubbish to many wannabe people

Fantastic experience: Really good gym, very easy to find the ladies changing rooms upstairs. Wasn't too busy so didn't have to wait long for machine.

Fantastic experience: Really nice gym that feel bright and welcoming. Staff are great, really friendly and helpful especially for those who are a bit hesitant about entering a gym. There's a huge amount of equipment and classes available. The PureGym app us great for tracking how busy the gym is as well as a wealth of other information. Prices are pretty good for the area and access you get.

Positive experience: Czyste schludne miejsce. Dużo szafek i prysznicy. Niestety siłownia często jest przeludniona, a sprzętu zbyt mało, by zapewnić odpowiednie warunki do treningu, który spełnia moje oczekiwania. Wcześniej uczęszczałam na Waterfront Avenue i byłam bardzo zadowolona. Dużo miejsca i sprzętu. Niestety od jakiegoś czasu jest zamknięta i muszę korzystać tutaj.

Fantastic experience: One of the best branches with a huge functional fitness area. The lifting area is always clean and organised. Showers and changing rooms are clean too

Positive experience: I had to move like plenty other people to Craigleith after closure of Waterfront. 1. Primarily because of that you either have to wait as it’s very busy or you get people interrupting you n asking how much you have left. 2. Equipment is decent and good quality apart from the time when something brake it takes 2-3 weeks before someone gets in to fix it. I have a feeling that it’s better to put “out of order” sign than just deal with it. Currently - the only one cables for lateral raises snapped n second week nobody to fix it. Previously apart from the fact that leg extension machine is only one n usually so busy that you almost have to book it was broken for weeks. 3. Temperature - it’s almost impossible to get warm thought your training (unless u run) without hoodie on or some sort of cardio before your actual workout. Get the heating up people It is just too cold! 4. Staff - there are couple of nice n friendly trainers there but some of them are there just for themselves. Not interested in telling people to put weights back or to not slam it. Not offering help for people who don’t know how to lift n train unless u have paid them for a private sesh. 5. Cleaning - hit or miss. It is either clean either not clean for days. 6. CrossFit- right I get that there are some classes like CrossFit etc but do u really have to do them in main bit? There is a very good, big class downstairs. Not everyone wants to be involved in the class so why I have to listen to (far too loud) music, shouting and weight slamming- usually louder than my earphones?! Overall it is a nice open gym with potential and good selection of protein bars and drinks. It is only a shame from PureGym that we have been made to move there from waterfront as u couldn’t upgrade the gym n keep it running (apparently not busy enough) It only shows poor management on your side.

Positive experience: Good value gym wth a good range of equipment . Can get busy after 5 p.m. The changing rooms are badly designed with not enough lockers and the bench for changing are too narrow.

Negative experience: Far too busy not enough space and equipment to deal with the demand. Never have cleaning products. Its very frustrating. This happened after they closed another puregym and continued memberships here.

Positive experience: The gym is fine and big, it’s a little busy but there is a good range of equipment. The downside is that the showers are too cold and often not very clean. I’m going to find another gym because of this.

Positive experience: Overall a really good gym friendly clean and mostly get booked into the class you want. The biggest let down for this gym is the showers are so so cold.

Positive experience: The changing rooms were cluttered with discarded clothing and look unclean. The shower floors are constantly dirty and don't seem to be cleaned.

Negative experience: Had to move to this gym from the Granton one as that had shut down and redeployed its members, I find it’s too busy no matter what time you go at, it doesn’t have enough space. Queues to go on machines and it’s not great for people who are more introverted. Disappointed but I guess it’s not their fault for the influx of members.

Negative experience: Didn't go there. Just slept in my car in the car park while the missus went shopping
Positive experience: I've graded it a 4 Star is primarily due to the gym's temperature issues. Despite the good internal facilities provided—such as gym equipment, washing, and changing facilities—the excess heat during training sessions, which typically last over an hour, has been a recurring problem. The gym is spacious, with a large downstairs area that includes a closed-off studio, as well as an upper floor. However, the large windows allow the sun's heat to accumulate, especially on the cardio equipment placed in front of them, and the lack of fans or AC units exacerbates the discomfort. To improve the situation, I believe they should consider adding fans throughout the facility to enhance air circulation, as the current AC units seem ineffective. This adjustment is necessary for a more comfortable workout environment.

Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Positive experience: Very nice gym, good quality equipment, but process to sign up was so long every single time with technology issues. 25 pounds for a day trip. Would recommend, just a bit of a hassle at the beginning

Positive experience: New to the area and was worried I'd be out of place back in a new gym. But with so much space and equipment I never felt in the way and was able to feel comfortable to do my own thing. Even in busy periods it's great and always able to work around others

Fantastic experience: The staff here a really friendly and the gym is clean and functional. The only issue I have with Pure gyms is they often don't run the class they advertise. So you turn up and nobody is there to teach. The last time the yoga person was a no show but one of the other trainers stepped in and done something, which was actually very good. So the place is great but puregym is a bit disorganised with their classes at least with yoga. I should add Sophie who teaches yoga here is excellent!

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this gym for a few weeks now and overall I am very happy. It's a decent size with enough equipment that no matter how busy it has been I've been able to complete my workout without having to wait for machines. I usually go between 6:30 and 9:30 in the morning. Good selection of both Cardio and Strength training machines with plenty space for stretching. While the lockers tend to be a little narrow for my liking the changing rooms are pretty decent and never too crowded. If you don't have a padlock for the lockers they sell PureGym branded padlocks out of the vending machine downstairs. The showers are fantastic with decent temperature and spacious stalls. They have a couple water fountains around if you don't go for the whole smart water thing they offer in there membership packages. Would recommend

Positive experience: Great place, too bad you get kids from high school hanging in the changing rooms vaping and doing protein shakes as if it's their crackhouse.

Positive experience: A great gym, but let down by the male changing rooms/toilets which are always disgusting - no ventilation and toilets constantly blocked which causes a putrid smell. 5 stars if they can solve this problem!

Fantastic experience: I tend to do the classes, preferring the 45 min ones to the 30 min ones
Positive experience: I come early and so far always found it not too busy and quite clean. Could be that I'm here at 5am but to me the gym is great.

Negative experience: Cleanliness is not something important in this place especially in the Males changing room. Showers are blocked by hairs. If you leave a plastic bottle inside you will found it again in the same place for few days. Cheap membership doesn’t mean that you can’t have look at showers. I suggest maintenance asap.

Positive experience: Good gym but some equipment had out of service signs on it already and not enough bar attachments in comparison to other puregyms. No aircon on so be prepared for a sweaty workout.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our providers to ensure that everything is fixed as soon as possible, if anything should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have everything in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Fantastic experience: But be aware that you may get a parking fine if you do your shopping there too. There is a time limit of 3 hours.

Negative experience: Gym is good with good equipment and I can usually do what I want to without waiting too much for machines to come free. Changing rooms a bit crowded at times and the showers need a good clean! I mentioned the dirty showers to one of the staff members.. it hasn't improved.. I noticed yesterday that the shower I tend to use has had a patch of what looks like shaving debris on the wall in the same spot near the rack for toiletries for over a week now.. so I'm not convinced the showers get cleaned that much...

Fantastic experience: I'm not quite a massive gym person, but I felt comfortable in this brand new gym. It's very well laid out and everything is there to choose. Not too busy, at 8.30 in yhe morning, which is great. I would recommend people to use this gym, but not too many, I still want to use equipment too
