Positive experience: Came here to play a game of football on a Sunday and staff were polite and helpful. The young lady was so polite and even offered me tea, which was nice. Looks very good place to visit with kids

Fantastic experience: My son has just had his third swimming lesson here. He has made more progress in those 3 lessons than he did in 2 years with another swim school. The staff are gentle, kind and clearly know their stuff! Very impressed!

Positive experience: Clean pool and changing areas. (I know I sound like an old fuddyduddy but) the music can sometimes be a bit much as from time to time its quite loud and 'pumping' - although I accept its fairly typical for a gym, its just not everyone cup of tea, especially given the average age is probably over 65+ (hence the 4* instead of 5) but that really is just me being a bit picky and I absolutely love it here otherwise!

Negative experience: Glad I changed gyms. Nothing positive to say. Staff are unfriendly and unwelcoming. Gym is full of noisy teenagers messing around in the afternoon and hogging equipment for ages so gave up going that time of day. Equipment is in desperate need of updating. Facilities pointless. Cold water from showers, toilets constantly blocked, leaking or out of order for weeks at a time. Opening hours change like the wind. The one that finally tipped me over the edge to finding somewhere better was having an email to say that they're finally updating a few bits (cardio equipment I believe) and some flooring and that access to the gym would not be available for 3-4 weeks. Fair enough. But no mention at all of any reimbursement of membership fees that will still be charged for. So essentially, can't use our gym but we're still happy to charge you. No Thank you and found somewhere much, much better in every way

Negative experience: Just driven from Hurstpierpoint to Steyning for a swim, changed my work days and weekend plans to come today rather than tomorrow, only to find out that yet again they've changed schedule last minute. I checked their website last night at 11pm and it said 11.30-1.30 free swimming, not today apparently. Very disappointing especially on top of other issues many people have had in the past, obviously due to poor management. With the amount of people that use these facilities, they should really sort things out more efficiently, especially their website.

Negative experience: Swimming pools cold, my son was shivering and going blue really fast. Kids diving next to the No Diving sign. Deliberately booked an empty session (which still showed only us on the tickets online) the session before should have ended but nobody was asked to leave so it was real busy and I got kicked 3 times while heavily pregnant (lifeguard honestly didn’t care about altercations I had to ask people to move over, it was busy but there was more than enough room to not be close enough to kick people) common decency don’t kick other people especially pregnant people!!! I was standing out of the water cradle long a lot so it was obvious too! Loads of kids seemingly on their own too surely this isn’t the following the rules? I won’t be coming back, awful experience

Fantastic experience: I attend Church here (LCSS) on Sundays. Beautiful setting inside. Clean and tidy. Warm and inviting. I'm now thinking of joining the gym and maybe even a ZUMBA class!

Negative experience: I joined primarily for the gym, but what they don’t tell you when you sign up is that not only can you not really use it in the afternoon because of kids and teens sessions, but that the place is constantly populated by teens. Fine if you are a teen, but as a middle aged adult trying to get fit, it is not a nice environment. I tried going in the evening, at first I had the gym to myself then 3 immature teen boys came in , sat on bikes directly facing me, didn’t use them, and stared at me and swore at each other. We’re done and we cancelled our membership the next day and now setting up a home gym. A decent well equipped private adult gym would clean up in Steyning.

Positive experience: Aquafit class good. Reception staff not so good. Allowed a queue of 12 people to build up while 3 people held a social conversation.

Positive experience: Went for a roller disco, it was very well run and great fun!

Fantastic experience: Kids go swimming here and lessons are fab and reasonably priced. It also includes free swimming for the kids included in the lessons..

Positive experience: We enjoy swimming here, it feels very safe and well organised and seems to be quiet whenever we go, which is a nice bonus.

Fantastic experience: Helpful staff and relaxed place

Positive experience: Grandson was there to have swimming lessons on a Saturday morning. The pool is a good size and the changing rooms are quite clean. There are squash courts, but I do not know anything else about it. It is not as large as some other leisure centres.

Fantastic experience: 5 stars for the roller discos here. Friendly, safe, great fun and you get to see some really cool skaters. The skate guards are so kind and will help scared beginners get going.

Negative experience: I have been a gym member for 13 years. Over the last 2 to 3 years I have felt that things are deteriorating. For example the ladies changing room first had a leak through the ceiling.It was not resolved. As a result the room has been closed since 31st October 2019. I have spoken to the management about it and was told it would be fixed in the fullness of time!! As a result I can only shower in the swimming showers, a very awkward and unsatisfactory process.

Positive experience: Is a nice enough centre with decent cardio and weights. However the pool seems to be closed more than it's open

Negative experience: The changing rooms for the gym are riddled with mould and have therefore been closed to the public for months. The toilets are disgusting as they are not cleaned regularly. The machines in the gym don't appear to have been wiped down for weeks. The whole place is in need of modernisation. It is a shame as staff are friendly and the facilities have potential but it is generally very dirty and run down and money is not being invested into this gym.

Negative experience: Filthy dirty, dated gym, staff unfriendly, if you pay a membership you will be asked to leave when ever the school fancy using the gym. AVOID!!

Positive experience: Lovely but air con is SO noisy

Negative experience: What a joke of a place this is. Machines are always out of order, no staff or uninterested staff. Nobody shows any enthusiasm or interest. It is a soulless typical council run dump. And they wont let schoolkids use it during the holidays, even though there are at least 5 staff members sitting around downstairs. Well done! Much better to get the kids roaming the streets than actually get in the gym to do themselves some good. I cannot wait until the new gym opens up in Steyning, you will literally have no customers left. And some of the staff that are there could do themselves a favour and get in there themselves.

Negative experience: The place is very clean. Most staff are helpful and friendly. Prices are acceptable. To improve, I would create more opportunities for younger customers. The current teen gym limits the customers to the upper floor; not both. However, the teen gym option isn't properly organised

Positive experience: 90% ok when you get used to how they work. Website is a bit all over the place and first time to the site forget trying to work out the time table. Often there's a lane closure in the pool but not listed on the website so what's left for the public can be busy. Did get run down a bit. Some improvements being made. The gym is split over 2 floors. Massive plus is the car park is free. If they start charging, 50% of custom will go for sure. When football is on - forget trying to get a parking space. Gym can get very busy and hard to do your workout if you have a routine - but that's not much different to most. Overall good place, staff are helpfull

Negative experience: Membership is very expensive for what you get, just shy of £40 for Gym/swim/classes. Gym is very small with basic cardio machines, not much choice for a proper workout. Changing rooms are quite grim, it's an old school changing rooms, no shower cubicles. Been to much better gyms that give you much more for much less. Staff are friendly and helpful however and the pool is usually quiet and not as cold as it used to be. Lower your fees and it would be worth it!

Positive experience: We often go swimming here as a family and have always had a good experience. Also there is a summer kids camp, which we use. Very helpful and cost effective way to keep the kids occupied during the summer holidays!

Positive experience: Nice 25 metre pool - just the right temperature. Gym with all the machines and 2 glass fronted squash courts. Check their website for access times.

Fantastic experience: Sometimes it's when things go badly, rather than when they to well, that you get the real measure of a place. My son was attending an 8th birthday party at the centre and collided with another child on the bouncy castle. He banged his head very badly but the staff were really great, administering first aid and taking good care of him until the paramedic (who they called) arrived.

Fantastic experience: I play squash here nearly every week, staff are helpful and friendly, hygiene is good, and best of all they never tell us to get off the court if we stay on over our time, reasonable people indeed
