Fantastic experience: Best gym for people with hip/ knee injuries in Cardiff. Staff are excellent.

Negative experience: Staff are rude if you can’t swim and you ask for a board they will say you can’t be in the pool I got kicked out because j couldn’t swim also my mate got to stay in the pool

Fantastic experience: A good variety of things to do from the pool for just a swim or a bit of training in the gym .. its a nice place to go .. the changing area is mixed men and women use each end of it ... some centres have a changing room each .. the water is nearly always a bit but after u been in for a while u warm up then ..

Fantastic experience: Hi my name is Colin and lm 70 years old and lm a member of eastern leisure centre on Thursday l took part in the escapee circuit ( Jason run the circuit l really enjoyed the way he mixed it up for us ) it was great. Doing the escapee circuit have got me back into exercise and enjoying exercising too. Thanks Jason for keeping us on our toes

Negative experience: £8 for a gym session? What happened to get people out and active? For that you would expect a hotel gym, not an abandoned leisure centre? Pretty sure cardiff council sold this to make it 'better' not worse..

Positive experience: The swimming classes are good but They should clean the changing rooms, showers and toilets it is very, very dirty.

Negative experience: Toilets are very dirty and smell,I reported to members of staff multiple times, nothing happened . Very disappointing.children need to use clean toilets.They don’t fallow hygiene here.

Negative experience: Real shame, the facilities feel modern, and it has clearly been refurbished in the last few years, the classes are good but man the pool changing rooms are always filthy. Needs a good deep clean. Have to wash my feet before I get in the pool just to get the dirt off from walking through the changing rooms.

Positive experience: I go there to give blood and the leisure centre staff are always friendly

Fantastic experience: Excellent centre with amazing facilities. The excercise classes are perfect , great times and plenty of sessions. The centre opens early morning so perfect for training before work which is also brilliant ! Nikki is an excellent coach and makes everyone feel so welcome and at home. Would highly recommend Eastern leisure centre.

Fantastic experience: I went to a class on Bank Holiday Monday, it was a strength class for over 60s, this class was run by Jason it was very well organised, with different stations ,using different equipment on each one, it was really good as there were alternatives for anyone that could not do a certain exercise ,we were shown correctly how to do each exercise safely, I did 2 exercise which I have never done before and was shown correctly how to do this, people who were in the class were very friendly, anyone looking for something new to do I would highly recommend this class

Negative experience: TERRIBLE! Had to cancel a membership 1 day after joining through illness have now not paid my money back…. Ring every 3 days, same old story and no one ever gets back to me!! AVOID they are thieves that steal your money!!! They claim they have HUNDREDS of refunds which tells you everything about their terrible facilities!!! Literally advertise they are a charity organisation helping people …. They don’t help anyone they actively want to keep your money going against their own terms and conditions!!!!

Fantastic experience: High quality gym, functional training area and pool facilities, friendly helpful staff, good squash courts and often very quiet.

Negative experience: Staff are not helpful and clearly seem they do not care about customers .. I don’t recommend this place..

Fantastic experience: I can tell you now from a person who has used the easten for years that the staff and customers are very welcoming in the pass any issues I have had were dealt with quickly and professionally the lady who runs the fitness classes does any amazing job of making the class fun and will happily help you or chat with you if you ever have questions to ask she is happy to answer them it a very happy and welcoming places

Negative experience: Women' s toilet inside the swimming pool area is out of order since a month and no toilet rool in disable toilet. Kids can't even take a shower after using the pool cause after 10 seconds member of staff is shouting that it's enought . Not how it suppose to be...

Negative experience: We always lifted the weights one week we did it women came over and asked us to stop so we did but other days we lift weights

Fantastic experience: I visit Eastern leisure centre a few times a week. I love the aquafit classes an I visit the gym when I can.

Fantastic experience: Staff are really helpful, polite and approachable, have used the Eastern Leisure Centre for many years and any issues I've had have always been dealt with immediately. Keep up the good work, it's much appreciated. Lovely to see the staff all chipping in and showing pride in keeping the changing rooms spotlessly clean. They could teach the actual cleaners a thing or two.... Thanks guys and gals.

Negative experience: I walk my dog on a regular basis around the perimiter apart from dodging the dog mess all over the fields the out side apearance is awful. The main entrance looks disgustung with weeds growing eveywhere. Not exactly welcoming. The best thing is cardiff parks dept has an office 50m away. Get the strimmers out boys

Fantastic experience: This is an awesome class. I've attended it for a while now. Gareth and Kieran are brilliant instructors who make you feel welcomed from the start. You will learn self-defence on a way that enables you to feel more confident if an unfortunate incident was to ever occur. This is great personal development through learning a truly interesting martial art. High recommended.

Negative experience: This is a typical old school city centre council run overly standardized chavtastic moneyless pit with some new gym kit! Ignored by most of the community and run by some smashing people. Typical rough old carpark outside with overgrown bushes and lots of grafitti around a really impoverished playground. Sited in the middle of a nice open green space that it takes little advantage of, this is a social centre for the community waiting to happen. Third sector and statutory health and social care could be all over this place with some 'mixed economy' little initiatives to improve social inclusion. It's in the state because of the typical centralized notion of conformity. Raise some awareness of what's possible and it'll soon generate it's own identity.
