Moulsecoomb Community Leisure Centre: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Small gym but never any issues using the equipment, no waiting
Fantastic experience: Great facilities, staff extremely polite & helpful.
Positive experience: It has a big carpark (free), bookable badminton courts, bookable children's bouncy castle parties, exercise classes and a gym. The gym equipment is not best quality and if something breaks it's months before it's fixed, but it's often quite empty so no queueing for pieces. It's part of the Freedom Leisure group. There's a flight of stairs to go down to get to the courts and gym. There's a tiny lift which often has a hoover left/stored in it.
Fantastic experience: Grate park
Positive experience: Good facilities, great for social indoor volleyball games. Paid £16.45 for the annual pass plus of course the cost for every game we attend.
Fantastic experience: Im been training here for the last year and i really like the fact its not that busy at the times i visit which means im never waiting very long for kit. The staff are warm and welcoming aswell as really helpful.
Negative experience: Once a good gym ,is now a shambles. Most of the equipment broken or taken away to be repaired. Now not accepting people who wish to join who have any health issues and have been advised to join a gym to improve their health. Even though the companies ethos is open for all walks of life and any level of abilities to improve their health. (Clearly not). This is not a gym run by gym minded people.Really needs an update and their policies looked at. How can you become fit if you are not allowed to join? If you have any health issues I would avoid this place. I can see memberships will diminish here . Majority of the staff unhelpful here. Has gone downhill big time unfortunately.
Fantastic experience: Great value and welcoming staff
Fantastic experience: The staffs at moulsecoombe gym are brilliant, always there for help and i just enjoy myself using the gym, everyone is so friendly.
Positive experience: The facilitys arnt the best but the staff are next to none. Customer service attention to detail, friendly welcomes you can be sure to recieve a ten out of ten service from this lot. Ive been a member of freedom for years. Moluscombe seem to get the worst kit so thats a disapointment.
Negative experience: Good place to play but it requires some serious expansion.
Fantastic experience: It was one hell of work out .
Fantastic experience: I like it ❤
Fantastic experience: Staff here are absolutely lovely. Super friendly and welcoming, honestly we’re the main reason i chose this leisure centre for my gym. I recommend this centre if you would like a friendly personal relationship with the staff! The equipment in the gym all works beautifully and there is a good range of cardio and weights for such a small gym! Only thing i could think to fault them on is that i wish they did day passes!
Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre, I like the gym! The staff who work here are all really friendly and give the place a good atmosphere :)
Fantastic experience: I have just had my second child's party here. The set up is excellent, the staff are amazing and all the children had so much fun. Thanks you so much
Fantastic experience: Perfect time
Positive experience: First time at this Leisure Centre, would say facilities are better overall than King Alfred. No swimming pool here.
Fantastic experience: I spent there some hours watching a Brazilian ju-jitsu competition and I liked the place.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly and helpful
Fantastic experience: Our company hired the sports hall at this centre over four days for a TV commercial shoot and had a seamless experience. They were friendly, professional and accommodating going above and beyond at every point.
Positive experience: Showers are a bit cold, but the staff are friendly, you can get a decent brew and the gym is reasonably well equipped for its size.
Fantastic experience: Good customer services
Fantastic experience: Hopeful and supportive staff.
Positive experience: Back strengthen class for lower back pain, £3.50 for a 1/2 hour walk through with a great teacher giving clear helpful explantation/instruction for each exercise, quite intense for my first class, but it will get easier I'm told and the bonus is I felt better just after this first lesson.
Fantastic experience: My first visit for a lower back pain exercise class. Tough, ½ hour to loosen and strengthen muscles, get things moving. I felt very confident with the young man who talked and demonstrated the various stretches and exercises. Will definitely be going back ( ) for more.
Positive experience: Good and friendly service, but could be better.
Fantastic experience: Cheap badminton
Negative experience: Good service good staff and very big inside .. all the facilities I needed
Positive experience: Staff & fellow gym users are nice & friendly, new equipment has been installed since last Novembet but sadly it still has a tendancy to break down, i've not used the showers since the refurb so hopefully they're hotter than they were before.
Positive experience: Facilities are quite small in numbers, but they have all that is needed, even if there is no swimming pool which would have been a plus. (You can still get access to a swimming pool in town centre with the membership they give you here). Price is reasonable, and staff is typically there to help when needed. Big downside, the temperature of the showers is often very cold
Fantastic experience: Great place to get fit and keep fit
Negative experience: We come here every Sunday with our kids to have fun and also we all members. Bu today because of the “ manager “ it’s ruined. It’s look like she owned the place. Whatever she asked we did and paid. But still she tried to show herself. Well done. It’s called leisure center but we all had nerves. Thank you MANAGER !!
Fantastic experience: My granddaughter had her birthday party there. Great for children. With the bouncy castle. And other things too play with.. She loved it.
Negative experience: I dropped in whilst in the area, fancied a quick workout and even though I offered to pay I was told I cannot pay and go unless I sign up to a membership and then pay joining fee and then quit. Ridiculous. Hardly the ritz now come on guys, sort it out!
Negative experience: £100 parking fine for picking your child up from clubs there. Avoid.
Fantastic experience: Great place ...Big shout out to Sarah Humphrey...Great organising skills...nothing is to much trouble
Fantastic experience: Wicked place for a party
Fantastic experience: Staff are happy to help, always polite, My instructor answered all my questions and put me at ease. The actual gym is clean and cleaning in place for the public when using equipment because of covid and your safety.
Fantastic experience: Friendly welcome, very clean and well set up
Positive experience: Good complex, nice and local
Fantastic experience: Friendly helpful staff.
Positive experience: Had a decent game of badminton with the hall to ourselves for half the time until a group of others came in to play basketball and decided to play loud, awful music.
Positive experience: Needs updating but the classes and kids party are good
Positive experience: Badly needs a decent hot drinks machine. Calms one down after workout.
Positive experience: Very good to play badminton
Positive experience: Need a good clean and updating the equipment . Otherwise great place with friendly helpfully stuff.
Positive experience: Strange space, nice staff
Positive experience: Nice staff, but always understaffed so they running around trying to help everyone, facilities as expected, just a shame the Caffè is never open
Fantastic experience: Great place for children lots of fun
Positive experience: Great price for students, not too busy and all the normal gym equipment you could want
Positive experience: It's ok, could be better
Fantastic experience: Friendly cheap gym
Positive experience: I go here every day, I would be lying if I say its perfect. The machines are old, the space is small and the changing room needs some paint and some DIY. The staff are lovely especially the personal trainer called James. Lovely, little quiet gym.
Fantastic experience: My son loves it
Fantastic experience: Good setup. Come here from time to time to play badminton.
Positive experience: I go here fairly regularly, either here or withdean. This place is never really busy which is nice.. it is small but you should be able. to get your full workout done with no issues. There are only 2 exercise bikes in there and I think they're both seen better days, an upgrade would be nice to see. Staff are friendly and approachable.
Fantastic experience: Membership reasonably priced and got a good gym to work on cardio free weights weight lifts machines
Positive experience: It's a sport centre what more can I say...
Positive experience: Lots of things to do
Fantastic experience: Great sport complex. You can hire the main court and play basketball, badminton... A lots of activities like circus training, karate... also aerobics (body combata, bodyattack...). Service is good, people there are very helpful. There is a gym aswell.
Positive experience: It's OK, but could do with an update on equipment
Positive experience: Friendly staff. Only 4 stars as I booked and paid for (non-member) badminton court online and when we arrived, was not in their system. They put a net up and accommodated us on a spare court anyway though.
Fantastic experience: It's nice to go there for meetings. We also use this place for events.
Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre, staff are also polite, friendly and helpful. Also well priced
Fantastic experience: I haven't been inn the centre with my children but lovely staff
Negative experience: I play volleyball every week there. Very good court. Sometimes not very clean, especially around the corners. I find annoying having to pay for the court plus a fee to enter because I don’t have membership. Sport should be encouraged instead being a way of profit. There should be more support from council to make it cheaper once I don’t see even one volleyball court in parks. They all have 6/8 tennis court, sometimes basketball too and football. But never volleyball.
Positive experience: We often play basketball here. It's very cheap and you can book the court 6 days in advance if you're not a member or 14 if you're. But I recommend to book the whole court instead of one rim. Otherwise they will give you one ring and they'll separate the other half with a curtain at the three-pointer not the half court. Changing room is nice, has showers and lockers. There is a disabled bathroom as well. Wheelchair access. Kids are welcome. I saw young ones doing karate here, playground, skating and many more activities.
Positive experience: Nice
Fantastic experience: Good for kids parties and other events
Fantastic experience: Was useful and i had a very good support . Thank you
Fantastic experience: Everything you would expect from a leisure centre. Decent function hall facility with bar, good for parties
Positive experience: Good local comunity center, some of the equipment needs updating and gym very compact. Amazing if its not to busy. Xxx
Fantastic experience: Fantastic
Positive experience: Nice and clean place to go gym
Fantastic experience: Karate comp.. Samoa karate used this place.. Was nice..
Positive experience: Been going to the leisure centre for years. Val is a goddess with teas and coffee. To be honest, it needs overhauling badly. Can't switch the heating or air conditioning on without flooding one of the fitness suites and can't use either of the downstairs gents loos.
Positive experience: Gym is good.
Positive experience: Gym good.. all I needed in .... Badminton ... Training provided... Wish they had a pool though
Positive experience: Nice staff, but the air con doesnt work in the studio
Fantastic experience: Use it for 5 a side
Positive experience: Quite small but seems well run
Positive experience: It's an OK place. Not flash.
Positive experience: Good gym and activities but no swimming pool
Fantastic experience: Okay ... pay for what you get. The gym is very small but the small amount of staff are very friendly
Fantastic experience: Great
Positive experience: Gym is ok. Decent equipment, but no windows and sometimes stuffy.
Positive experience: Good place to socialise
Fantastic experience: Great gym much help
Positive experience: Friendly staff, but some badminton courts are almost 'squeezed' in
Positive experience: Good value, plenty of availability for booking the hall, gym never seems too crowded, staff helpful and ample parking
Positive experience: Nice place
Positive experience: Great place
Negative experience: Music in the gym gets loud and annoying; I keep having to turn it down - it's a gym not a night club! Male showers are awfully! Mould and damp and smells from the drains. Staff say it's because they built the complex in a basement. Showers are hot when they work and cold when there is boiler problems. For what you pay it's a joke.
Positive experience: Good facilities and the staff helpful. Easy membership and booking.
Fantastic experience: Nice place
Positive experience: Wide variety of activities... including function room hire.
Fantastic experience: Lots to do and very helpful staff
Fantastic experience: Great place for a roller disco.
Fantastic experience: A gym with a real community feel to it. Friendly staff who actually give a damn about your workouts and know their stuff, most of the gym goers are approachable people
