Negative experience: Poor service and expensive

Fantastic experience: Good

Negative experience: Today is the 21st Dec and several gym members were stood outside the gym at 7am. We all expected the gym to be open, even the Google timing says it's opens at 7am. The swimming pool side was open and even they couldn't tell us what time the gym was open. The communication of the gym side is absolutely terrible. I'm absolutely appalled by the lack of communication. Even the app doesn't have the opening hours.

Positive experience: Good gym, lot's of equipment (recently refurbished I'm told) there are also squash courts and badminton courts here.

Negative experience: They ordered all new gym equipment without measuring if it fits in the gym lol. There is about 8 pull up stations that cannot be used because your head will go through the ceiling. I pointed it out the manager he called me stupid (I had just shown him my head injury i.d) I said he should put signs up to clarify, he told me I'm banned so I ended hurling abuse at him. Getting called stupid by a guy that bought gym equipment that doesn't fit inside the gym lol jesus

Fantastic experience: Go with bridge school lovely and friendly staff

Fantastic experience: I have joined for a swimming lesson at a beginner every Friday at 10 in the morning for 1/2 hour Also, I go free on the weekend early in the morning

Positive experience: Done an aqua class.. On a Friday morning. Although enjoyed and the instructor was enthusiastic. There were 2 things that could be improved The lesson started 10 minutes later and was not made up at the end and the dumbells and floats were bought out at the end for 5 minutes previously doing zumba in the water.. Dumbells should be given from start by choice if we want

Negative experience: The quality of instruction at this facility leaves much to be desired, as the teachers seem to lack enthusiasm for the children’s development. I've had to voice my concerns multiple times regarding the gymnastics classes, where the instructors can sometimes be unkind to the kids or more focused on chatting among themselves while the children wait. Additionally, the cleanliness of the gym is subpar, and it feels like there’s a new instructor every week. I cannot recommend the kids' classes here, especially considering the high fees. There are many other excellent options for gymnastics and sports in Sutton Coldfield, with passionate instructors who truly enjoy working with children.

Negative experience: Swimming lessons are good, helpful - Ian is brilliant and i cannot fault him (5 stars for him and the swimming teachers). However, the leisure centre NEVER answer the phone. I have tried a few numbers and never any luck. It is a nightmare to call the centre. It was so simple and easy to set up classes online, but a nightmare to cancel. They should allow you to cancel sessions via your online portal.

Negative experience: Can never got ethrough by phone and the online booking system wont let me book anything!

Fantastic experience: Roller Disco on Saturdays 15:30pm - 16:30pm Average hall size but makes up with the staff teaching the public. From slalom (going in and out of cones) to party games like limbo It’s base indoors ( the badminton court) and with the lights off; has a great party feel with the disco lights on. Skaters change directions every 10/20mins to skate and the Marshalls skate along helping those that require tweaking their skating skills. For friendliness and family atmosphere 10/10

Fantastic experience: I recommend for Parents to use this amazing Leisure Centre for their lovely Children.

Negative experience: Great facilities. But service on the front desk could be improved a lot. Rare to get a welcome or bye. Also ,as mentioned by others, phone not picked up.

Negative experience: Staff on reception can be rude

Positive experience: Wyndley Leisure Centre offers a fantastic range of facilities for fitness and recreation. The staff are friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. The pool area is clean and spacious, perfect for both serious swimmers and families looking to enjoy a splash. While the center generally maintains high standards, occasional overcrowding during peak hours can be a drawback. Overall, Wyndley Leisure Centre provides a great experience for staying active and healthy, with just a few minor improvements needed to reach that 5-star rating

Fantastic experience: Excellent place to exercise at reasonable prices.

Negative experience: Really disappointed, tonight. The car park was busier than usual with loads of vehicles searching for a space and cars parked where they shouldn't. There wasn't even an option to wait somewhere for a space to become available. So I couldn't do my usual swim and went home. Something needs to be done about this car park. When you get in the pool, there are not that many people to have taken up so many of the spaces at the pool end of this car park. So perhaps the timetables etc need reviewing to ensure there isn't a parking issue go forward for your regular customers.

Negative experience: So I took my son here for swimming lessons with Andrew which went good. Then my son got up the ladder to stage 1 where a lady teach him. I found this lady soo rude! She doesn’t even hesitate to say something about my son infront of others. He is only five and she said, “your son has been under the water and have been going close other kids private area. He may not be intending this though!” Such comment has hurt me and my family. Wouldn’t let him go there again!!!!!

Negative experience: I’ve tried to call the centre for almost a month and left multiple voicemails to cancel a membership. Nobody has gotten back to me and trying to talk to someone is always so difficult.

Positive experience: Squash courts are OK... 6 has a leak, and floor is dodgy in 1 area, so don't choose that court, but rest are ok...

Positive experience: Good classes, not enough of them and hard to book a space because demand is so high. Gym is okay, no stair-master or ski-erg.

Positive experience: No issues with space and equipment. Classes are limited but that reflects on price. Staff can be a bit friendlier - most will like not to be spoken to. Reception will like people to call the number rather than sort problem

Negative experience: Cold showers, cold changing rooms and no working hair dryers.

Negative experience: I booked into the spin class as a guest where I paid in advance. I was15 mins late as I couldn’t find where the room was, no signs and no one told me. The instructor (female) who did Wednesdays class at 6.15 turned me away giving me a reason “I will be in trouble with them.” If was for health and safety I can understand but what type of reason is the one she gave me? Was the class being monitored? Also it was my first time. I doubt I could’ve even done the whole 45 minutes anyway. The remaining 30 minutes at my cautious level of working out would have suited me fine. I dont get what the leisure centre or the instructor would have lost by allowing me to join and seeing how the class was. It was hard to get here in the first place with my little one and all and I was very much looking forward to it. No where on the website nor email reciept did it say the instructor would turn me away if was late. I told my other half for his opinion and he agreed I had every right to be annoyed. It put us off as a family from coming. I joined the class to socialise while working out. Would not want to befriend this type of instructor.

Positive experience: Just visited the swimming pool during the day. Lots of parking, friendly staff and a nice, quiet atmosphere.

Positive experience: I've never been to the gym, but I have a friend who attends and says the classes are really good Can't comment any further .

Negative experience: I got a one year membership 3 months ago for swimming but due to my lack of time I tried to cancel after few days, via email and calling. Nobody respond my email and nobody pick up the phone. Now I got a letter from ACR Europe debt collectors. Wyndley leisure centre is appalling!

Fantastic experience: Took my son and his mate for a diving board session, great facility, shame the diving boards are not open for longer...

Negative experience: Booked for the kids to go to trampolining and tumbling in the school holidays. Over £6 each for an hour which is reasonable until you see what you get for the money. 1 trampoline. That's it. 10+ kids spending the majority of the hour queuing for a 30 second go. Waste of money.

Negative experience: Wish there were 0 star customer is very poor never pick your call no matter what time and day you call never pick the probably just ignoring the customers

Positive experience: Decent local gym. Alison's spin classes are just great. The bikes need some TLC.

Positive experience: My kids go for swim lessons there and they love it. The wife goes for Zumba lessons and she loves it. Sutton park is right next and I go for an occasional run there. . So overall it's a great place.

Negative experience: Terrible service quality. Poor equipment maintenance. Staff turn up late to sessions and spend time on their phones. Absent management.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities. Fantastic range of equipment in the gym. I go to the spin class on a Sunday morning. Carol is fantastic. She's motivational without being condescending. Couldn't recommend her classes enough!

Negative experience: Swimming has been ruined, all taken up by sessions and lanes now you carnt just turn up and have fun with the divin boards anymore.

Positive experience: Loads of kids extra activities, swimming, football, gymnastics and more. Can also get a coffee from Costa

Fantastic experience: Amazing swimming baths, always clean, and the staff are very helpful.

Negative experience: Awful! I'm not local and the online booking system doesn't really explain if you can swim lengths for adults swimming or not. So asked at the reception and told me I could but there were no lanes. Pool crowded, dirty and smelly. Staff is helpless. Asked for a refund and the girl at the reception didn't even know how to proceed for it. No one answers to the phone. Customer service is hopeless. I totally don't recommend this place.

Positive experience: Started to exercise again, and Wyndley has a wide range of exercising apart from the gym It's good to do some form of exercise

Negative experience: Facilities and classes are really good, however, the admin team is a disaster. They made duplicate charges against my membership in 2020 and I am still waiting for the refund which is more than 200 pounds. Recently, I cancelled my membership as I was heavily pregnant and I got an external company chasing me for the month I didn't go and "pay" as they never cancelled my membership....They are not helpful at reception and all they do is passing the ball to other teams that don't solve these issues.

Positive experience: Gym is amazing, a stairmaster is the only thing that’s missingthe gym would be 10/10 if there was a stairmaster. The swimming pool, showers, changing rooms unfortunately aren't the best and could do with a refurb! There is always so much dirt at the bottom of the pool , hair on the shower floors, changing rooms dirty and mouldy, desperate need of a refurb.

Negative experience: Swimming lessons for children are poor! The coaching is terrible, one of them shouts and makes comments like "what's wrong with you!" to your child and another one would just ignore your child for an entire lesson...what's the point?? I can take her swimming myself, it would probably be more beneficial...

Fantastic experience: I go to pilates, couple times per week. Amanda the instructor is an asset to the team

Positive experience: Love the swimming pool and the gym. Can be busy at times but it's alright.

Fantastic experience: The water is nice and clean and is a perfect place for anyone who wants to learn to swim or just likes to swim for fun!

Negative experience: £10 for only 40mins of badminton. Absolutely, gratuitously, ridiculous!!! Now going to Doug Ellis, Perry Bar, £8.50 for a full 60mins. Now come on, think about it, is 40 mins really anough?

Fantastic experience: Three pools in total, water is clean, booking or membership required. Staff are friendly. Plenty of parking. Swimming coaching staff are professional and friendly too. Gym is in two floors good equipment all around.

Negative experience: Swimming lessons were terrible for children. Had one lesson and cancelled due to safety concerns. Wouldn’t recommend. Cancelling the direct debit is also a nightmare. We have now found another swim school, which is amazing!

Negative experience: No one answers the phone , it's been a week I have been trying to contact someone to book a court as there seems to be problems booking online .

Positive experience: We use the gymnastics class. My daughter absolutely loves it and has been attending for years but it can get a little repetitive. Staff are lovely though, so good with the children!

Fantastic experience: First time I'd been to Wyndley in years and it looked fabulous. Very well maintained compared to some other council run leisure centres (or is it Serco, I'm never sure).

Positive experience: Good variety of machines and some free weights. Broken machines get fixed reasonably quickly. Music is not too loud, so noise cancelling headphones let me listen to what I want instead. A range of fitness classes are available. Changing rooms and showers are ok. Prices are reasonable. Free car park a short walk away is shared with other things on the site but has enough room. The only thing that might not work for some is the 5pm closing on weekends.

Positive experience: My 3 girls all do their swimming lessons here which is great.

Positive experience: Good selection of weights, dumbells up to 50kg. Good variety of machines & equipment for the size.

Positive experience: Was okay..I haven't been to this gym for a while..since moving and then going back wyndley is limited in equipment and pretty small compared to the opposition.. fitness is massive these days so step up or forget it.

Negative experience: Disgraceful. Won't make adjustments for blind swimmers. Shame on you.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for 25 years, I had my swimming lessons here as a kid, I now bring my children here for theirs Lovely pools

Fantastic experience: First time I attended this leisure centre today, was super clean and I had a enjoyable time in the pool doing my exercises. Only thing I would say is maybe they should do a adults only session to avoid the pool when it’s busy full of children.

Fantastic experience: First time visiting leisure centre came with 7year old son for the roller disco. Loved it staff actually showed him the basic’s to get started great atmosphere. Been several times since.

Fantastic experience: Love the location, neighborhood and particularly the running track. Was lucky to join the John Taylor Hospice sunset walk for a cause organized by them too. And generally most grateful for my Wyndley driving test that got me to learn about the leisure center too.

Negative experience: Very expensive squash court fees. Courts are very cold, no heating. Showers havent worked for months. No response to my written complaint. Front desk staff are very helpful and polite but they are let down by lack of support.

Negative experience: No one ever answers the phone yet there’s always staff and a full team at the front or talking out the back. Changing rooms/toilets not the cleanest either and smell. Quite off-putting going in there. No PT’s in there to offer any personal training either which is strange for a gym to not offer that service. However the main gym inside is really nice.

Fantastic experience: The lady who sorted my leisure card out. Was brilliant she had a lot of patience. Very nice women thank you for all your help.

Fantastic experience: My daughters attend swimming lessons here and the lady on reception goes above and beyond to help with and changes, problems or concerns you have. Facilities are clean. Hair dryers too which is a bonus!!!

Fantastic experience: I was actually visiting Wyndley lake with all the bird and duck swan wildlife. It is defo the best lake to visit for wildlife in the Birmingham area. Rate it very highly to take the young children and feed all the ducks.

Negative experience: Dirty and cold. Floors hadn't been cleaned for a week and no heating. What are we paying for? Looking for a new venue.

Positive experience: Nice Leisure centre could ideally do with a refurbishment as some parts are very dated. Ideally could do with a lift being installed for disabled guests as the ramp takes a long time, and the area isn't well lit at the bottom. But the classes are quite good, and there's a good range

Positive experience: Good parking and access. Badminton courts and nets were fine, but lighting is appalling.
