Negative experience: Worst facilities ever staff who have no clue who's booked in were . Leaking water from the vents just outside the soft play toilets can't organise session bookings for send session kids in a soft play envorments youngsters running the place just stood around chatting . And if you park your car while you use the facilities and don't put in your car reg . You will get a ticket the staff won't tell you .
Hey Michael, thank you so much for your comment. Our staff are all incredibly well trained and will do their upmost best to help with any customer needs. As for the water, this is in the process of being fixed. The members of staff in the PlayZone are there to take care of the café but will be able to assist when possible. They will be talking during their time on shift, as communication is essential for the running of the café. The parking situation is well signposted, if you come into the centre we will happily sort out this ticket for you.

Fantastic experience: As a non member, we visited to take our grandchild for a swim. Very reasonable priced, pool and change rooms clean. Luckily we got there at the right time during the week, as we got out of the the pool it was closed for the school PE period. Plus there was a play area for the little one while we had a coffee.

Fantastic experience: Soft play here is big and good for all ages. Seating around the back of the soft play so you can keep an eye on the kids. Also, seating around by the coffee stand. Depending on if it's busy, staff might let your kids stay in passed there slot. Free parking for 3 hours. Must register your car at the entrance.

Negative experience: As a Muslim man, they kept on telling me that there was ‘no bombing allowed’ multiple times. If you are a person of any colour you will be racially abused and we got told off for everything we did. Stay at home and save yourself a rubbish day.

Our highly trained Lifeguard team will stop any prohibited behaviour, such as 'bombing', a term often used in swimming, to prevent the situation from becoming dangerous. We can assure you these comments did not have racial undertones, however, we do apologise if we have caused offence. Nonetheless, it is vital to ensure that the pool is safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Negative experience: Very strict and unwelcoming in the swimming pool we were having fun and it felt like we were being controlled and pushed around. Never coming again. However, the staff upstairs were very nice. Don’t recommend swimming there.
Hey Edward, thank you very much for your review. I am really sorry you find our pool unwelcoming, unfortunately swimming pools can be extremely dangerous. Therefore, at times we do need to be strict to ensure the safety of all members.
Negative experience: This place is like a modern concentration camp ur not aloud to have fun and we even got told off for talking the lifeguards have no manners and looked like they haven’t smiled for years.The toilets were awful with the floor covered in unknown substances and the we saw a dead rat when walking out the door inside the building .It was a rubbish experience and ur bath at home would be more fun than this place
Hey James, thank you for your review. Whilst your comparison is somewhat offensive, we would like to assure you that we do promote fun in everything we do. In the swimming pool it is absolutely essential that we put a stop to any dangerous behaviour that could cause injury. We believe our lifeguards are a lovely bunch of individuals who work incredibly hard to ensure the safety of our members. Our toilets are cleaned daily, however, due to heavy footfall the upkeep is incredibly difficult.
Positive experience: You asked me how you can get the 5th star, I say by dropping the price of membership for pensioners. Gym membership are expensive for people like me as we need our money to live, I would love to renew my membership but can't.

Hey, thank you so much for your review. We are sad to hear you felt the cleanliness of the centre was not satisfactory. The heavy footfall that we experience does take its toll, however, we clean daily and are always looking to improve.
Negative experience: I recently visited the soft play at Ringwood Health and Leisure. I visited with my 18 month old and I would honestly not go again. There were a number of older children (7+ years) in the under 3s part, they had baracaded one end of the tunnel and were throwing balls at everyone, including my child. I spoke with them a number of times that they were in the baby bit and needed to go the other bit, with the older ones. They left and then came back again going in the ball pit and throwing balls within the under 3s section, whilst my child was trying to access the ball pit. There was no staff around monitoring that everyone was okay and following the rules (I used to work there when it first opened and we ALWAYS had someone available, surely from a safety point of view this is required? The parents of the offending children were nowhere to be seen or I would have spoken to them. I emailed the centre as soon as I got home (this was almost 2 weeks ago) and have yet to have a response. I thought that we could try and resolve this matter without leaving a review. From talking to others they have had a similar experience. This is such a shame as the facilities are very much needed in this area. However, i cannot put the safety of my child before the convenience.

We are extremely sorry to learn that no one has gotten back to you yet via email. We would be intrigued to know which email address you used, as this is not our normal standard. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to staff the PlayZone at all times. We rely on parents to supervise their own children whilst in the soft play, however, if you are ever concerned about dangerous behaviour please talk to a member of staff who will inform the Duty Manager.

Positive experience: Nice small pool clean it seems that the pool is mainly taken up by schools or clubs I wanted to swim for three hours but was difficult to get in when I wanted the activity room looked good very good car park no tennis courts so you take your chance

Negative experience: I was very disappointed with my first visit to the leisure centre and soft play today. I assumed that when I booked for an under 3, the soft play area would be separate from over 3s. But, it doesn't make any difference as the older children have equal access to the younger one's area and visa versa. My 2year old was literally thrown into a free for all. He was quite traumatised and wanted to leave. I get that parents/ carers need to be able to see both areas if their children are different ages, but at the very least there should be a barrier or net to keep them separate and safe. The member of staff, (dark blue uniform,) I spoke to about my concern, seemed disinterested and ignorant. Sadly I wo won't be returning in a hurry.

Unfortunately, during half-term, it is exceedingly difficult to separate the two sections due to how busy the area is in this period. For this reason, we do recommend that parents with younger children visit our soft play during term time to avoid the crowds. We really hope you give us another chance during a quieter period, we would love your little one to experience the fun of our soft play.

Fantastic experience: I use these facilities at least 3 times a week and have had no problem with them. Easy to join and very friendly. My only gripe is having to put my car reg in every time even though I'm a member.

Fantastic experience: Moved down from a brand new centre in Essex but I’ve been made to feel right at home here. Once you get used to the opening times for lane swimming. The different opening times for the health suite (steam, sauna, loungers and cold shower). Registering your car every trip to avoid a fine and when to come to avoid all the school children, it’s got it all and the staff are all friendly, lovely little cafe for snacks. Positive experience: Breast screening is done here. Stupid system of having to walk to leisure centre reception to put your car details in. Screening in portacabin. One lady was really nice. The other was a jobsworth and really didn't seem happy in her work.

Most of our members find this a necessary process to ensure there is ample parking. As for your experience with the screening, these are not Freedom Leisure employees so we are unable to comment.

Positive experience: It's usually good. But tonight wasn't pleasant. There were 2 lanes set out for the "serious swimmers", which were being used but not too busy. But there were people treating the rest of the pool as their private one. Heads down, front crawl & butterfly, little regard for anyone else in the pool.
Hey Clare, thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that your swimming experience did not meet your expectations. I would expect the Lifeguard team to control any unruly behaviour in the pool, if they are struggling, they have the backup of the Duty Manager who they can easily call on to the poolside. I hope you do not experience this again but if you do find yourself in that situation please speak to a Lifeguard who will be able to resolve things.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member for 5 years and I need to say the standard of this gym have gone down drastically. Machine not switched on in the morning, faulty equipment, more than half of the lockers out of function and never repaired, cold water and freezing cold rooms in the morning. Sorry but it became unbearable and I had to leave. I’m sorry for the staff as they are nice and helpful.
Hey Claudio, thank you for your review, we are extremely disappointed that you feel this way about our facilities. There may have been an occasion that some of the gym machines were not switched on and I am sorry that this happened, it is not our usual standard of service. Normally one of the early starters will go to the gym and switch everything on. All of our lockers will be repaired the week commencing 12th February, this has taken longer than expected but the results will most definitely be worth the wait. Could you please elaborate on the 'cold water'? Very occasionally we may experience technical difficulty with a boiler and the staff will need to reset it. This is a very rare occurrence and the water will soon warm up. Are you able to elaborate on the "cold" rooms? I have had no other feedback that the changing rooms are cold, if you could let us know we will investigate further. If there are issues, we encourage our members to contact a member of staff who very often will be able to resolve issues straight away or at least give you an update on where we are. We would love you to give us a second chance, feel free to pop back in so we can discuss these issues further and make your experience the best it can be.

Positive experience: The gym and halls here are great. The swimming is good and the kids really enjoy it. The locker room is small, though, and the lockers were mostly broken. It also gets dirty as people are told to take off shoes before going into changing rooms, but most people don't.

Negative experience: We signed our daughter up to swimming lessons here and they left her in the swimming pool crying uncontrollably and just told her to stop crying and to being happy faces in future! They also told her to stop crying because dad was watching. She was scared as it was her second lesson and they had no emotional awareness. I made a complaint and they didn't understand why we weren't happy. We had emailed and said she was nervous about starting lessons and we were reassured the instructors were good with nervous children. Clearly not. When we complained they admitted they had no idea what class they had put her in and the whole thing was disorganised. The instructors are very young and it seems more about getting lots of kids in and not about quality of lessons.

Swim teachers are all level 2 trained and attend regular courses to keep their qualifications up-to-date. We have a variety of new and experienced teachers at our venue. Swimmers can react differently to different teaching techniques and some swimmers relate better to our younger teachers and some to our more experienced teachers. We would usually advise in this situation to try a different teacher and we will follow up to see how the lesson went with this new teacher.

Fantastic experience: I love bringing my 4 kids here, aged 4, 9 and 12. They have a great time and it's great being able to sit in the cafe knowing they're safe and can't get out any other way. Facilities are always clean and the staff are really friendly. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Soft play security! Be prepared to follow your little one around. They could escape and potentially get outside! 4 months ago we were told this was a fire escape which was under review. Looks as if it wasn’t resolved. 1) security gate at main soft play entrance not working (opens freely). (Update: I discussed with on duty manager and the explanation was “we encourage parents to close the gates”, “we check them hourly”. When I left, all gates were open (no self closing mechanism). 2) little ones (eg 3 year old) can leave the main “secured” soft play area, through the “over 3s area” and exit to the cafe where they can go down the stairs to the exit!
Hey Grant, thank you so much for your feedback. The opening to the café now has a covering added over it which can be opened in the event of a fire, this should resolve your issue with the soft play. The gates also have been fixed as well, however, it is important to remember that we rely on the gates being closed by everyone who uses them. They cannot be self-closing otherwise young children will get their hands/fingers caught in them. Negative experience: Softplay was very disappointing. The website advertised a designated area for under 3s yet this was simply a sign on the net which does not stop bigger children from entering the area. The under 3's areas where full of older children, running around, pushing passed the little ones and diving into the pall pit, we had a few near misses where they almost landed on our 1 year old, Certainly this setup not safe for the very little ones. I did not see any staff members in the soft play area at all and unfortunately. will not be going back again.
Hey Natasha, thank you so much for your comments. We do indeed have a designated under 3's area, however, we rely on parents to monitor and enforce this. If you do notice this issue in the future, please do talk to a member of staff and they will do the best to resolve the issue. School holidays do tend to be incredibly busy, with children of all ages coming to enjoy our facilities. We would recommend coming outside of these times with an under 3-year-old, as it will usually be a lot quieter.

Fantastic experience: Massive pool! The sauna and steam rooms are very good! They are unbelievably clean and also very spacious. Suprisingly the gym upstairs never seems to be too busy even in peak times so you can get in and get a good work out without having to wait around for equipment. It's definitly the cheepest in ringwood but don't let that put you off they have more facilities than any other gym round here.

Fantastic experience: The filming location for the Brittas Empire. The outside shots of the leisure centre and indoor pool shots were filmed at Ringwood Health and Leisure Centre. There's also a few filming locations around Ringwood too. In 2017, the cast of The Brittas Empire came to Ringwood Health and Leisure Centre to reunite after the centre's refurbishment.

Negative experience: Very disappointed children today. 2 under 5s to swim in child pool only, with me, but we're not allowed in because there's only 1 lifeguard. Never been a problem before as I am supervising...Very cross and very u.pset
Hey Nichola, thank you so much for your comment. We are very sorry that you had a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, we did go through an issue with staffing. Our rules mean that we must have one lifeguard for up to 30 swimmers and children must be 1:1 with adults.
Positive experience: Was very busy when we went. Small under 3 area that bigger kids kept running into and throwing things

The soft play can most definitely get busy due to its popularity but we find there is ample room for kids to run around and have fun in. We apologise that there were some bigger kids in the under 3 area, while we do try to be vigilant about this, it is ultimately down to the parents of the children to respect our venue. If this is a continuing issue please find a member of staff and we will do our best to resolve the situation.

Negative experience: Wasn’t the best for little ones as whilst they had a good area for them, it’s the only part with a ball pit that all the bigger children want to play in. The area is also out of the view of the cafe. This meant parents were not watching their children at all and it was completely unsafe for tiny children. They kept getting bashed about and basically jumped on so we left. The staff asked why we left so soon and offered to ask the bigger children to leave but it was too late by then as my baby was already frightened and refused to be put down and play. There are better places for small children. Older children seemed to like it.

We would love to welcome you back again and if you do decided to visit us, try mid week early morning or later afternoon if you can. The soft play centre is much quieter during this times :)

Negative experience: The softplay area is a good idea and on the surface is good however the vision of your child around the play area isn't great but more alarmingly there is an exit from the play area that kids can go through that goes straight into the cafe area and the stairs back down that is likely to be out of view of parents
Thank you for your review Chris! The exit you refer to is actually a fire exit which we have to keep open, however our health and safety team and project managers are investigating ways we can make this more secure :)

Negative experience: Really bad gym, will randomly flood with local school kids during non peak time and there is limited equipment, which makes following a routine really hard. They turned off the sauna completely when energy prices went up, rather than restricting it to certain days, it’s still off even though energy prices went down. Changing areas for the pool are mixed gender which I do not like. The staff are generally friendly but all in all it is not good value for money.
Hi Ed, thank you for your review, we are deeply saddened to hear you are disappointed with the service we provide. All our centres have high school educational use of the facilities during school terms and school hours. This may impact on the availability of some areas and facilities within the centre during these times, however, we display these times on our app and in-centre posters. Our sauna and steam rooms were turned off during the energy crisis. Businesses like ours are facing crippling increases in energy costs due to the upward movement in wholesale energy costs. However, unlike domestic supply, we do not have the limited protection of an energy price cap. For us, these increases are running into the many millions of pounds. We are currently trailing the reopening of our sauna & steam facilities at Lymington and Totton Health & Leisure with the hope of reopening the other centres if the trial is successful. Our poolside changing village has always been mixed-gender and will continue to do so. There are specific male and female group changing sections within our changing village. If you prefer, you can use our dry-side changing rooms which are split into male and female specific areas.
Fantastic experience: Amazing soft play, very well organised. 1 hr 15 minute session, our daughter thoroughly enjoyed herself, was a little busy at change over but cafe really well priced, could do with a wipe down of the tables every now and again though.

Negative experience: Disappointing that a family member had to provide evidence of a loved ones terminal condition to suspend their membership. In a traumatic time, the last thing a careers energy should be spent on is trying to prove their situation for an exercise classes admin.

Negative experience: Run by new owners now but same old tired leisure centre, the promise of a cafe and renovated soft play has taken so long we've almost given up on it, being users of the pool each week, some of the showers have been broken/not worked all year, if not longer, drinking fountain tap is broken and I've never seen the floor cleaned, it's very dirty. Maybe someone will read this and make something happen, (it's simple, get a cleaner or use one of your many staff who like to stand and chat and get a handy man/woman to sort the showers... Oh and as members I don't expect to have to log my car reg every week to avoid getting a penalty!
Hey Martin, wow what a difference a year makes. We are no longer that 'old, tired leisure centre' after countless refurbishments and improvements. We apologise it was late, but the soft play and café have arrived and have been a huge success. Our showers have also been replaced as of January 2023 and our drinking fountains are now working. Our floors are the top of the agenda for the cleaners in the morning and throughout the day for our leisure attendants. We hope to see you back soon, so you can see what a difference a year can truly make.

Fantastic experience: The machines are excellent. You actually feel like you're somewhere else because they are video simulated machines and it's also a good place to work out when you have some energy you need to use up. I would recommend this gym for everyone.

Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre, the pool is really nice. The manager (Mr Brittas) is a really dedicated guy. I was however surprised to see that the receptionist keeps her baby in a drawer behind reception!

Fantastic experience: This place is totally amazing. i have a severely autistic and non verbal son which i take swimming 3 to 4 times a week, he has a few different ways and no body bats an eyelid or stares, the staff here are absolutely amazing from checking in at reception to the lifeguards and rest of team. I live nearer 3 other swimming pools but choose to travel to Ringwood because we are made to feel so at home. In particular a life guard named Abbie who has even approached us about how they can make things better for Joe. my answer was simple please do what you have been doing. this place is wonderful and from the bottom of my heart i thank everyone of you. from Barry and Joe Joe Edmead.

Positive experience: Great staff who are very welcoming and informative, the gym is nice but go past school hours to avoid to many kids. The swimming pool is ok supposed to be heated but don't really notice. The only negative thing I would say is the lockers and swimming pool changing area and showers don't seem to clean.

The gym can indeed get busy during these hours, but it is advertised when it will be in use by the school. The pool is now at a beautifully warm temperature perfect for swimming. Our staff are also focusing heavily on maintaining the cleanliness of the entire venue.

Hey Tom, thank you so much for your rave review. We agree that our facility is incredibly well-priced for what we offer. Our friendly staff are always on hand to help with any queries and motivate our members.
Positive experience: The facilities are great, but the changing rooms are packed with at least 4 lessons on at the same time. Stage 2 too crowded with 8-9 kids in the small section of the shallow end, kids bumping into each other all the time. At times you can't even get a spot to sit as viewing at the top and bottom are full.
Negative experience: My son has swimming lessons.. First session after main swim. Toilets and changing area always dirty. Needs to be cleaned more. As you can imagine after the class it's even worse. Please clean more it's disgusting
