Fantastic experience: A gym for those interested in exercising and not socialising, the best time for me is 1 pm to 3 pm on weekdays when not too busy . Not the best machines but good enough.

Negative experience: Overall not bad but internally every day there are too many kids who use the machine to take selfies and waste your time, the alternative would be to go there in the evening.

Fantastic experience: 24/7 gym services Spacious gym hall and various equipments present for your use . Variety of trainers available as well
Positive experience: Mostly a great gym. Management have been lovely in showing myself and my friend around, as we are visually impaired, and the machines are easy to understand. The changing rooms are a struggle, because so often people leave their bags locked in lockers even when they are not at the gym. We come in and it's not very busy, yet a good portion of the lockers have locks on them. What lockers are left don't really work properly. Outside of the changing rooms, I love the atmosphere, and the machines are easy to understand and operate. There have been issues with my membership that haven't been sorted though, which is why I voted it 4 out of 5 stars. I do recommend it to anyone though, great gym.

Fantastic experience: Best Gym I've been to in Bury. Also prefer this Puregym from others. Always clean and tidy, staff available if you need anything. Equipment is well maintained and fixed when there are issues. It can get fairly busy sometimes with people hogging machines but that happens in most gyms. My only criticism is there are quite allot of broken lockers that don't actually lock when you put your padlock on them.

Positive experience: Great gym, been coming for years. Recently got rid of the spray and paper towels which is a bit of an ick but I come in the morning weekdays and weekend and I very rarely need to wait for any equipment or a shower.

Positive experience: Good cheap gym overall. But it could do with a refurbishment really. Free weights old and worn and there's not enough olympic plates in my opinion, could also do with some plastic clip on collars to make it easier, rather than the metal spring clips. Showers abit too cold to and the drains smelt abit. I'd be willing to pay that little bit more for a gym with warm showers at least.

Positive experience: It wasn’t bad. Often full of Young plastic gangster types trying to get muscles, which can be fun to watch but annoying when they loitered around the equipment.

Positive experience: Great gym - some really friendly staff here. highly recommended
Positive experience: Been a member at this gym for over a year now and have really enjoyed all my workouts. The gym is clean and equipment is easy to use. However, no idea why but this week all the equipment has been changed (cross trainers etc) and I definitely prefer the old equipment. There is hardly any space between each machine either! Please bring back the old equipment.

Positive experience: Can’t fault it really, but I must say, whatever spin class is going on at 19:20, the instructor was awful, she SCREAMS and SHOUTS the whole time. Someone teach her how to use a microphone and instruct, inspire and motivate. Very annoying when working out and that’s in the background even in the changing rooms

Fantastic experience: Impressed by this gym. Between 5 and 7pm is the peak time, but even then there is ample space, I've never seen the place full above 40% capacity including peak hours, whereas earlier in the day I'm often one of oy 10 or 15 people in the place. Changing rooms and shower facilities are kept in good condition. Hygiene in general is really well observed, staff all take part in keeping the place clean and safe.

Negative experience: I was a member for 6 months here, it’s a nice big gym and the staff never bothered me, however it gets far too busy - unless you go before 4pm it’s just unworkable,people have zero gym etiquette either,I started trying to go after 10pm but there was lots of young lads just in there running about generally messing around,I know it’s cheap and cheerful but it’s worth paying more to be able to actually train and enjoy it,a shame as the room is a great size,joined Village down the road which is considerably dearer but it’s everything you want a gym to be.

Negative experience: Went in to Bury for a 1 off session to check out the facilities as I'm looking for a new gym. Found the equipment ok but that's about it. They have lockers but if you don't know to bring a padlock then you can't lock it. Then I tried to finish my workout with mat work (planks and flutter kicks) to find no mats. Took ages to find a staff member only to be told I should have brought my own. Then took me nearly 10 minutes to leave cuz I didn't know I'd have to trawl through my emails to get a pin number. What a freaking shambles and will NOT be returning

Positive experience: Missing a few machines for arms and chest compared to market street. Ac wasnt on, the machines had no fans either compared to manchester machines. Missed the crossfit for hitting abbs at tbe same time, the crossfit machines they have taget legs and arse. Toilets were clean and well kept. The gym itself was clean and well kept. If the ac was on would have been 4 star, especially on a hot day like today.

Temperatures and the air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. Positive experience: Overall great gym, love doing the classes and enjoy coming on a regular basis however today I was using the 10kg weights in the functional area to do dead lifts. Lizzie the PT was setting up for a one to one and asked us to move down so she could use the area (no problem) so I began moving down picked up my jumper and my phone put them in a different area. I then went to go back to pick up the 10kg dumbbells that I was using and she saw me doing so, when she said ‘I’m using these for my session’ I said to her I understand that but I was using the weights and had got them of the rack in the first place five minutes before… she said I couldn’t have them. Found this very unfair as I have been coming for a very long time and I pay my member ship just as everyone else there fore I should beable to use the equipment that I had been using. Very unfair and unprofessional

Negative experience: Just moved to Bolton and the closest PureGym is bury! Since when is parking at the gym such hard work? Poor idea to put a gym in a shopping centre with parking so far away. Even when you get in the gym you still have to travel up another flight of stairs!!! Definitely the worst gym experience ever! The over all gym lay out is weak! Atmosphere dead.

Positive experience: Nice environment, lovely staff and very helpful. Gym is generally clean and has a great variety of equipment. My only con is that there are clearly too many members vs equipment available, which is put off during certain times. However on the whole, good gym!

Negative experience: you go to the gym to sweat and not to freeze ... many people have complained about the cold that is felt but they do nothing to solve the problem! I gave it a star but if I could I would give 0 .. I hope to change the gym as soon as possible !!! come here and you risk getting sick people have talked about this with manager and staff members several times .. has anything changed?

Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Negative experience: Main door wide open and it's freezing inside. Everyone works out in full clothong and I can literally see my breath. Puregym don't care about complaints, been like that over 2 months. Avoid, not worth the money.

Negative experience: Tried to complain last 2 months about the main door constantly open which cause a veey low tempwrature in the gym. I can literally see my breath. All you can get is automatic emails and empty promises of membership refunds. Hopeless place and franchise.

Fantastic experience: Returned after 18 months away due to COVID19. Felt safe and was really pleased with the cleaning regime the gym has introduced. Happy to be back!
Negative experience: Changing rooms are disgusting. The showers stink and there is only two of them. Not enough lockers and full of underage children. Never any staff around. Avoid.

Positive experience: Good gym overall. Just one gents shower is pathetic. I use PureGyms all over the country and the shower provision here is the worst that I have experienced. There are two cubicles but one of out of action for covid (?). Query this as it is fully screened. On the plus side the instructors doing the classes are better than the average.

Negative experience: This was my first time, I really did not enjoy it. I saw people drinking straight from the fountain, dropping weights and leaving equiment lying around. I can only go at peak times and from what I saw today there isn't much chance of getting on any equipment. I've cancelled my membership after one visit and I absolutely will never return.

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this.
