Positive experience: Good stay, overpriced burger and chips cooked in fat that wasn’t hot enough. And a teaspoon of coleslaw in a ridiculous plastic pot. How much to give a bit more coleslaw with it? Work your costs vs satisfaction, is like at least a couple of mouthfuls of coleslaw with my expensive burger please
Negative experience: It is very average. Classes are always too full and lack of variety. Can’t wait for my membership to finish to be honest. Popular classes are not on very often and classes that require equipment are held in smaller room. Barre has decreased to once a week. There is hardly any time between classes for the change over. The showers in the family changing room are always gross and there’s a horrible smell. The female changing rooms don’t have actual changing cubicles - just one little space where you can get changed in private. The gym is always very busy and it’s hard to predict when to go to avoid crowds. The instructors in the class give limited prompts regarding proper form. If you’re doing yoga in one room you can hear loud club music from next door. When you lay on the floor you can see the ugly ceiling tiles with water damage and spiders in corners.I’ve even had my water bottle stolen! Who would do that! Asked the front desk they didn’t have it. And you can get Les Mills on demand for way less money and not deal with any people by doing the same thing at home. That is what I am going to do when my membership ends in two months - I purchased the whole gym set with proper metal for less than the year membership.

Negative experience: I was eager to sign up today. After visiting with my brother in a bid to use a guest pass, I got declined because I had no driving license or passport to show. The guest pass, or website does not disclose that this is a requirement for entry... there is a sign at reception although the sign is about as useful as a concrete parachute, given that i’d already driven 30 minutes to get there. Crazy that I didn’t get ID’d for the beer I purchased at the bar though? I’ve worked in the fitness industry for over 10 years and have never come across such nonsense, even in London. The reasoning seemed even more ridiculous because “somebody had broken into a locker so it’s a cover” yet the car park has cctv and likely ANPR, which would seem like a more logical way to deter people without assuming upon first impression that I’m going to break into someone’s locker on my first day. The staff didn’t want to help at all and clearly had a very corporate mindset with no intention of actually helping a potential customer, I’m sure that once this gets read there will be a google friendly response that makes them seem approachable and appealing. I’m shocked at the lack of engagement, at the very least they could have offered me a tour which, as far as I’m aware is not only good service but one of the best ways to initiate a sign up. Long story short, I ended up going somewhere else and immediately felt welcome, had no trouble getting in and best of all, I didn’t feel like I was an 18 year old entering a night club.

Fantastic experience: I had moved to Bournemouth for work for a short time and I must say the team at this Gym have been absolute gems.. I have been a member at several other gyms, since I move about but this gym takes the top spot. From other members to the staff team and availabilities, one of the best experiences I’ve had at a health club.

Negative experience: Very small floor space. In rush hours, there is no room to move, let alone exercise.
Negative experience: I was charged extra for a class that I was told 10 pounds and they charged me 25 pounds. Luca! He is a nice guy very professional with an excellent customer service. The girls at the reception with a bad service, bad treatment.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service today whilst using classpass. Should have not gone after there was a review saying the staff didn’t know what a classpass was.... Travel all around the country always using classpass for gym access however this morning wasn’t able to gain access due to incompetent staff saying I need physical ID to access. It doesn’t state that on the class pass page otherwise would have brought with me. I had a picture of it but even that wasn’t enough. Do these guys think they’re running a nightclub or something?

Positive experience: First time visiting during the summer holidays, decided to go for a short family break. Great big car park, nice entrance. Big clear sign, Starbucks on site, restaurant and bar on site as well as their own gym/health club with steam room and sauna. Rooms were nice and bright and spacious. We had a nice walk in shower, only downside was no bath mat inside and I have two small children so I had to request one even though I had mentioned prior arrival. The check in process was very straight forward and easy they also have self check in points for a speedy process. Receptionists were friendly and welcoming overall. Nice lounge area with a tv for anyone who wants to just sit and relax. Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit their restaurant but I would definitely consider going back to this hotel just to try the food and vibes they had to offer. We didn't have breakfast as there wasn't a good wide enough range unfortunately neither for the kids or ourselves and didn't really cater to all needs which is a shame. You should really consider offering a continental breakfast as well as a hot breakfast buffet option but with a wider range of options suitable for children as well as adults. I've only knocked one star due to the points I mentioned but I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for someone decent and nice. It's also close to the town centre and many others attractions. Don't miss out. There are stairs as well as a lift available to the guests. We made use of the swimming facilities as well as using the steam room and sauce for over 16's which was also very relaxing too. They have set times to follow which are given to you upon check in for family swim times and also provide you with a locker key and towel when entering. The reception manager was very professional and he made a seating area for us one night where there was no where to sit and arranged a space for me and my two children and also gave my children two big chocolate coins which was very kind of him. There was also a lovely man in the Starbucks on site called George who was very friendly and warm and he also made us smile with a great honest service which is always nice. My children enjoyed their time as did we and I hope we can return sometime soon. Overall it was a nice and pleasant experience and we look forward in returning in the nearby future.

Positive experience: For relaxation it’s decent for the pool and sauna etc , iv been a few times on a day pass . If you compete in powerlifting or alike then the gym equipment isn’t for you , as it’s very basic , if you join for the other facilities then your good to go . Starbucks is a win if you work in RBH too

Negative experience: People in their don’t respect anyone if u are asian ,black American and Arab they definitely won’t respect you they just keep on bullying people who are working out saying things they shouldn’t like gossiping between them and loud voice so you can hear them and they say deserve to be kicked out or they say who let her in also the workers don’t respect people if you are white you’re good but if you are not, it’s not your place

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of the Village gym for 3 years now and I love it! I went from never being a member of a gym to now going most days, and I have to say it's all down to the wonderful PTs, in particular James Hook, James Lelliott and Michal who are always so knowledgeable and helpful, they have pretty much built up my strength and fitness from scratch (and they run brilliant Burn classes!). The members are friendly and the equipment is really good so overall I'm very happy with the village gym. My only negative as a member would be I do miss seeing the gym staff being around the bar area/Starbucks because it used to build a good rapport with members using those facilities, creating a good vibe across the village as a whole, whereas now it seems they are segregated away.

Positive experience: Great gym and nice range of equipment BUT recently it has been too hot in the gym to train properly. I tend to visit in the evening so I don’t know if it just gets warmer as the day goes on as more bodies generate more heat, but a good air conditioning system should allow for this. Please sort it out, I have heard other people mention it too to front desk staff so I know I am not the only one noticing it.

Negative experience: Ive been a member for several months now, i have enjoyed the facilities but am appaled by the management and customer service at the front desk. Yesterday the blonde woman at the front desk denied my partner access because of no photo ID. He brought his ID on his phone his driving license and passport. We also offered to prove legitamacy through social accounts and pictures but no we need physical ID. What is this. Think 25?! Youd think for a member ship that costs £60 they would be more lenient . I get the rules are the rules but we were met with instant passive aggressiveness and we drove 30 mins to get there just to be turnt away over no ID. Appaling

I can honestly say it’s the best gym I’ve ever been to (I’ve been to a lot ) The facilities are amazing , clean , up to date and always improving . Fantastic experience: Village Gym Bournemouth has been an absolute delight! From the welcoming staff to the well-equipped facilities, every visit has been a pleasure. I tend to go almost every day and the cleanliness and organization are commendable, making workouts hassle-free. The variety of classes and equipment cater to all fitness levels. Plus, the atmosphere is always upbeat and motivating, specially during Burn classes. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic gym experience as well as having a relaxing time swimming or toasting in sauna!

Negative experience: I give them 2-star because the place is clean, otherwise it would be 1-star only. If you buy Day Pass, it is horribly expensive, and you don't even get a towel in the price. I needed to ask for a locker band, and it was given with pain. The swimming pool is divided into 3 lanes, of which one is occupied constantly by swimming lessons, second by parents with kids, and you left with one lane for all others. Sauna doesn't work, even 15 minutes not enough to get properly wet, and you feel cold air coming inside. Steam room was ok. Finally, the Spa... it is actually a big word for that tiny pot, barely fit 4 people when squized. It is off more than on. It's really hard to get its benefits. I appreciate cleanliness and nice working showers, but that you can have at home.

Fantastic experience: Another stay at this fantastic hotel. Based on previous stay, I decided to book a other stay over Boxing Day. The hotel was quite for obvious reasons but the service standards were Impeccable. Check- in is seemless. And from hereon every moment of the stay was very nice. Worth exploring the on-site gym and pool and the evening pub and grill. They have lot of choices to pick. And to add it was premier league night so enjoyed the bar and drinks with magnificent 120 inch screen. I would definitely recommend this place just 15 minutes drive to the beach.

Fantastic experience: Great place to train. Modern and looked after gym kit. 4 types of running machines and bikes, classes taking from body combat to yoga and spinning. Probably trainers available from £25 - £35. Members get 25% hotel rooms food and drink at the bar. The spa with sauna and actual cold shower is great. Steam room not my thing and Jacuzzi only big enough for 5. However 25m pool and all in all for £55/ month is good I think.

Positive experience: Decent size gym and the pool area. Large changing rooms. Gym has the main equipment, loads of cardio, little less weights. No smith machine, but has squat racks and other stuff also. The only real downfall was that two times we've been there, we were not lucky to catch a jacuzzi working. Apart from that, it is a good place to be.

Negative experience: Awful Gym, Awful service. I was met by a red haired lady who toured me and my husband around the premises as if we were dementia patients. Her attitude was awful and to think she’s a manager (I know this because she continuously went on about it). DO NOT VISIT

Fantastic experience: I've recently joined this health club and I'm impressed with facilities. The pool is the perfect temperature and size, the changing rooms are clean and the new steam room is lovely! The gym is packed with the latest equipment and there is a good range of classes. The staff I've encountered so far have been friendly and helpful, with a special shout out going to Carolyn who has gone over and above to make sure I can get the most out of my new membership and has made me feel relaxed about venturing back into a gym!

Positive experience: I would recommend this gym to everyone. The equipment is first class and well maintained. The changing rooms (mens) need a good cleaner and keep toilet rolls in plentiful supply. The Pt's are very good, although Jason Kernan is particularly good at what he does, he is a genuine nice person and very willing to help, nothing is to much trouble for Jayson, he will go out of his way to help you. Top notch.
Fantastic experience: I joined village gym in August 2022 I am disabled I've lost the use of my left hand and my right hand is going the same way I also have multiple health issues. Where I was no longer able to do weights but then I met one of the personal trainers Jason who sat down with me asked about everything that I was going through and I have to admit since getting to know Jason my gym days have got so much better with his help and support and pushing me I've finally been able to pick up a dumbbell again only light but it's something. I would highly recommend Jason if you are looking for a personal trainer as he will never give up on you and will eventually get you doing things that you thought was not possible. I really cant thank him enough for everything he has done for me I've not just got an amazing PT but I've also got a friend for life. He is so understanding and if he isn't sure about a condition he goes away research what it is to know how he can help you best. Thank you Jason for everything.

Negative experience: If you want to be a member of a gym where you have to stay up till midnight or wake up at 5am to book into the following week's classes & then only end up on a waiting list with no guarantee there will be a space for you, The Village is for you!! Oversubscribed with members following a recent new membership drive, the Village has zero consideration for its members. The latest problems with class space have been bought about because of poor capacity planning, i.e. signing up new members without considering whether there are sufficient classes to accommodate them. Would highly recommend the Village if you want: - to be stressed out & lose sleep over whether you can maintain your fitness programme, - you don't need 8 hours sleep and are happy to join in the scramble to book a class for the following week, - you are happy to pay for a monthly or annual gym subscription & also to incur additional expenses paying to go elsewhere to do classes because they are so overbooked, - you don't mind driving aimlessly around the car park searching for a parking space, - are looking for inflexibility in membership packages.

Positive experience: Small gym, dirty and seriously needs a total refurb and sprouse up. I’m a member of the village in farnborough and this one is very disappointing in comparison given how back Bournemouth is.
Negative experience: I am really disappointed with the quality and standards of this gym. It is an expensive gym and it has been 2 weeks with the virtual spinning broken, 2 weeks that steam room is not working. One of the washbasin on the toilet of women block for a long time. The taps in the toilet are dirty (limescale ) which is easy to clean with a special product. Machines in the gym are broken. Additionally, there is very little numbers of classes with a real instructor, most of the classes are with virtual instructor. I really regret I joined to this gym. To tell the true, the cheaper gyms in Bournemouth are much more better than this one. I am a person who appreciate the good quality as you can see in my reviews and when it is a good service or product I will recommend it but when it isn't then I will tell the true.
Fantastic experience: Good place to get fit. The changing rooms are clean with no wet floors like other places. There is a pool, steam room, jacuzzi and sauna.
Fantastic experience: Village Gym is by far the best gym in Bournemouth especially if you enjoy a heated pool, sauna and steam room escape from winter weather. Gym equipment always clean and worth every penny. If Gym is your happy place then this Gym is worth a try. Good for mental well-being.

Positive experience: Joined the gym for 3 months now. I love the heated pool, sauna and steam room. The gym is decent sized small gym with some free weights area. A-bit crumped but can get around. It can be busy at peak times like any others. Car parking is great and free for 4 hours. The reason for giving only 3 stars is, I cannot stand the poorly maintained, filthy shower cubics and toilets. Used plasters, body hairs, dirty toilets, etc every time i visit. Worse, they would not allow to cancel my membership as its one year contract. Cheers! Happy New Year Everyone.

Positive experience: Had troubles regarding cancelling my membership however that has now been sorted, so I have changed my review. I would just say going forward staff should be checking that they have kept customers in the loop.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member for almost three years now. I would highly recommend this facility as the staff are friendly and helpful, which fosters a welcoming community place to be enjoyed by all.
Negative experience: Just cancelled my membership due to extremely poor cleaning facilities. Dirty plasters were near jacuzzi for over a week even thought told the manager..Men shaving in the sanua, people going around with mobile phones in the Poole facilities. People braking into lockers, travellers coming into changing rooms. The list goes on. What I thought would be a lovely place to relax in turned out to be nothing but stressful.
Positive experience: Good selection of classes. Swimming pool and facilities good. Steam room been out of action for over 3 weeks so slow on repairs. Parking can be a problem.
Negative experience: Ridiculous service and impersonal response from Village Gym when trying to cancel my gym membership, would thoroughly recommend never putting pen to paper with them. Next-to-no customer service and make it extremely difficult to speak to anyone. As for the gym itself you’d expect a premium product for the price you’re paying (and locked into for the foreseeable), however you’ll get an average amount of equipment with an oversubscribed user base, “aircon” that is just wheeling out a large fan and opening the windows and pool facilities that are regularly closed. Worth saving your money and going to a people-centric gym like PureGym or similar, you’ll have access to more equipment and a real life customer services department for a fraction of the price.

Positive experience: Limited range of gym equipment and some free weights, but enough to get by. Never too busy, even in peak hours. Facilities always feel clean and good to have use of leisure facilities (pool, spa, steam, sauna).

Negative experience: Don’t join spend your money at west hants-There isn’t enough parking and gym members are no longer a priority and being told you don’t get parking with your Gym membership despite there being no alternative options, staff are lovely but the village as a company are not interested in members.

Positive experience: Really like this place due to cleanliness, helpful staff & how much there is on offer for the membership fee! Left one star off due to the general upkeep of facilities, as some repairs are well over due now.. Other than that…..
Negative experience: Poor experience with local Village Gym, they are all over you to get you to sign up then the customer service drops through the floor and they couldn’t care, even the management in the gym are rude and arrogant, totally unprofessional and unprepared to help..! Equipment doesn’t work in some instances and lots of equipment needs to be replaced.! I only joined for 10 days, that was enough, I will be moving on to a gym that cares about their customers and want to help.!
