Fantastic experience: I’m moving house so have now had to cancel my membership which is such a shame as the facilities are great and the classes are the best. The Pilates instructors Maria and her cover teacher Noelle are fantastic, as a person recovering from a hip replacement their ability to modify exercises and their care and attention are second to none - I’ll really miss their Saturday class!

Negative experience: They’re excellent at charging, raising their fees, and suspending you if you cancel classes, but their coaches don’t even show up to the sessions. I’ve been attending for a year, but I’m very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: This is my favourite gym in London. The steam room and sauna are amazing and the staff are really nice. Brooke and Raashan are very helpful and coach MC does a great spin on Wednesdays. Would recommend:)

Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN FITNESS FIRST!! I visited the gym for a tour, was scanned in by staff (did not exercise), then signed up that same day, under a discounted rate of 50% off for the first three months. I was charged full price, so immediately emailed to ask why that was. I did not hear back for 6 days (essentially the entire "cooling off period"), during that time I visited the gym twice, and then finally came a third time to speak to staff about the membership and cancellation. I was told the 50% offer was only valid on year long memberships (not clear on the website) and so I cancelled immediately, on the 7th day. They now refuse to refund me £95 on the basis that I scanned in 4 times which exceeds their "fair use policy" (not stated on the website when signing up) that you can only scan in twice during the first week. Disregardin the fact that it's ridiculous because if anyone wanted to actually try classes at the gym they would need more than two opportunities to do so, I only used the gym twice, but had 4 scan-ins. I have been emailing them for a MONTH almost daily and Jennifer keeps copy pasting the policy, completely ignoring what actually happened. Obviously I would not go back to this disgusting establishment after being treated this way, and the amount of STRESS and ANXIETY they have caused is despicable. They know I didn't actually exceed their policy and that I cancelled on the 7th day, as soon as I was made aware of their misleading offer. The treatment I have received from them and specifically Jennifer has been absolutely disgusting and I would caution anyone to avoid them at all costs.

Negative experience: Overcrowded since Bush closed and will definitely NOT be renewing new year with others. cardio machines like ski and assault bike are always broken. Rip off for 70£. Nonetheless, Staff are lovely!!

Fantastic experience: Fitness First Hammersmith is by far one of the best London Clubs - based on staff alone its definitely the best. I came in at the beginning of the month and was toured around by a chap called Cameron. He was so lovely. I have since been going everyday and love the community feel not to mention large amount of equipment, space and great value for money.

Fantastic experience: nothing but good things to say about this gym! I signed up with Cameron and he was super friendly on my tour and answered all my questions honestly. You get a free PT session when you sign up, I had mine with Wilf and I loved it!! He has great energy and made me feel so comfortable. Ryan at the front desk recommended I try the Shred class and it was challenging but so fun. All in all great vibes, friendly, clean, would give 6 stars if I could x

Fantastic experience: This is the first gym I have become a member of, joining I was very unfit and and nervous so began coming with a friend. the incredible team have made us so comfortable surprisingly excited to show up everyday. In particular Rashaan and David the PT’s are so willing to offer help, advice and a boost on the less motivated days! I couldn’t recommend this gym more highly. Negative experience: All month-to-month contracts require 1 months advance notice to exit. Essentially you need to sign-up for 2 months minimum. Predatory pricing, and scamming behaviour.

Fantastic experience: The facilities are amazing, very clean and the staff are incredibly welcoming, but there are hardly ever Pilates classes outside of working hours. And if there are it's very occasional and the waitlist is in double digits. Therefore I think members of the club would benefit from more Pilates classes!

Fantastic experience: Good gym, but it is expensive, so not necessarily a bargain but rather the minimum you'd expect. Machines mostly good but it's quite small so not many squat racks. Spa always busy but people are generally respectful. Instructors are nice and classes are good! although the classes occupy the main floor/multi-purpose area of the gym so can get really crowded.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at this gym for over a year before returning home. The facilities were always clean and well-maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere from both the friendly staff and regulars. The equipment variety was impressive, especially the numerous benches for free weights, which made my workouts more flexible and enjoyable. Highly recommend, and I’ll miss this gym!

Positive experience: Great location and facilities available. Having moved from the Shepherd’s Bush branch I was apprehensive. However the gym is up to date and has a fresh look and feel. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Space isn’t the biggest however, there’s plenty of equipment and enough for your individual training needs whether it be based on cardio, strength or core workouts etc. There are numerous classes available as well as a spin studio and even a swimming pool! Other facilities include steam room and sauna which actually work and are kept clean! Overall I’m very happy here although the membership is just under double what I was paying at Shepherd’s Bush. (So take advantage of the no joining fee and half price offers when available to lessen the damage on your wallet) With my current membership I have access to 22 other FF gyms across the UK except the Platinum clubs (Baker Street, Tottenham Court Road). Additionally there are membership benefits including nutritional offers and clothing discounts when using their app. A solid 4 out of 5! Can only mark it down on size.

Fantastic experience: Having carried out extensive research of gyms and fitness retreats in the area, FF Hammersmith was by far the stand out gym for me when deciding on where to train during my visits to London. I had an incredible tour with the team where all facilities, availabilities, classes and logistics were explained. The team were friendly, supportive and incredibly helpful and the gym, pool area and changing rooms were immaculately clean and up to a high standard. Would one hundred percent recommend this gym.

Negative experience: Over booked and really poor customer service. The introduction of new classes overwhelms the only open area in the gym and the swimming pool is always crowded pre and post work. Should you want to end your contract the team ensure you get this in writing from reception, Aynsley the manager will hide in her office avoid dealing with any issues whilst charging additional months onto your contract.

Fantastic experience: I would like to give good feedback to Louis about the LGC class. It is a very good class and I feel that the class has its effects. I would like to be able to ask if it would be possible for class to be at least one day a week in between 12-1pm, I think many people would be happy with that time.

Fantastic experience: Nice gym! Friendly and helpful staff! Love their yoga class on Tuesdays with Rupert! He always adds something new and his class never gets boring like some other yoga classes. Hannah’s Barre class is amazing too! Such a great energy - really makes you work hard in those 30 mins! *Very strict cancellation policy for the classes - somehow ridiculous especially because when the gym cancels a class there is no communication from their end! It can happen 2-4 times a month; you go for the class and your instructor doesn’t show up (these are the covers they find for when their usual ones are away).

Fantastic experience: Where do I start! I had a PT session with Hector and it’s made me realise what I’ve been doing on my own is child’s play. I actively go to the gym however my training session with Hector left me speechless figuratively and literally loool. I was already feeling the burn in the first workout on the second set. I had previously been told by a few people about the way Hector trains with his clients and they all literally said the same thing that he’s good and I should be ready to work. And boy were they telling the truth. I highly recommend Hector as your PT.

Positive experience: This gym was a little too dark for me with limited weight machines which were always busy - bonus side of this gym though is the pool, epic boxing classes and all of the staff are super friendly. 5* for the customer service!

Positive experience: Staff did make an effort to be welcoming, showing me around etc, but if you are a rower I would definitely not recommend coming here. The concept2 machines were in near unusable condition (old, rickety chains, awful smell coming out of the wheel, wobbly seats, one of them was flashing a low battery warning, one of them standing against a pillar, rendering it unusable unless you had one arm and even then, it would depend which arm.) I therefore had to try using the hydrower which I had never used before and which is, in short, a very different experience. After doing about half my workout on that machine, I found that it was putting undue stress on my arms because of the very high drag factor which I could not change, so I switched back to a concept 2 which was at least familiar although it was, as I said, in very poor condition. I was almost finished with my workout when I was interrupted by a trainer telling me I needed to move because they were doing a class there in 10 minutes, and when I told him I was having trouble with the hydrower he asked me "what's wrong with it?" So I switched back to the hydrower and tried to finish my last km on there, only to be interrupted AGAIN by another worker who made me stop about 700m in so that he could give me unsolicited advice on my technique. I tried to tell him that it was the machine I was having trouble with, and that I understand how to drive with my legs, but he wasn't having any of it. So by this time I had been interrupted twice and had to move machines twice, meaning that the workout as a whole was pretty inadequate. I know they were just trying to help but the whole experience left me quite frustrated :(

Negative experience: hello, I went to the fitness room this Friday March 1st for one session only, one of the members of your staff charged me 46 pounds per session instead of 14, I have a bad memory of it and I would not recommend it to the near my many followers

Negative experience: Very poor environment. Severely overcrowded, blasting music, not enough space for people. Unfortunately, this is the only reasonable location in Hammersmith. Really a placeholder until something else pops up. I would definitely not recommend it. Even at 7:30am-crowded.

Negative experience: Used to go shepherds Bush and Wapping being my home club and shepherds Bush and Hammersmith my local clubs. Hammersmith has now been raised a into a different tier than Wapping and shepherds Bush has closed down. Meaning I now have no local clubs available to me. Also hated the studio here as they don't have mirrors and instead use a camera and large TV screen instead. Problem is that screen is flipped round, so instead of showing you a true reflection of studio the whole class moves in the opposite direction. Makes following the instructor near impossible . Shame I love the Friday night body attack.

Fantastic experience: Great club with fun classes and amazing staff who always help. I have been coming here for just over a year, my favourite classes are the gym floor classes which the trainers push you hard. I always see the cleaners keeping the changing rooms and showers clean and the pool is nice to relax. The gym can get busy so I come early. I would recommend

Positive experience: My home club - only do group classes there and they are good (expect for Zumba, tried once and there was no support from the instructor). It’s not as clean as the other two FF clubs I go to, but the swimming pool is nice and I could always get in. The sauna and steam room are nice as well. I try going after 7pm to avoid the rush hour. Negative experience: The gym is well equipped and clean, but the classes are very mediocre, some of them I would even find dangerous if you don't have the proper training and experience. The gym floor is always super crowded and it's hard to find a free spot big enough to do your work out in peace and without taking turns for the equipment.

Negative experience: Gym has become exceptionally busy with the closure of two other gyms in the area. This is a terrible excuse for the gym to give for the business as they should not have accepted all these new members in the first place, they were greedy and it was obvious what would happen. Saying now that they’ve stopped accepting new members is too little too late. I tried to leave but it’s a £250 charge, I even did as every comment they send says and emailed them, and they tried to shame me into when my last visit was (despite this being my last visit due to it being too busy to get on any classes!). Looking forward to their reply telling me the busy period is due to it being January, please don’t be fooled by this, it’s simply not true, its absolutely mobbed down there - up to 20 people on wait lists for a single class.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member for around 2.5yrs, but in the last month or two it’s got incredibly overcrowded since they shut the Shepherds Bush gym. The staff there are all great, but it’s impossible to get onto any classes (namely Spin) and on any weights or machines to have an efficient workout. Not sure where the influx of recent 5* reviews have come from, as other members I’ve spoken to have said the same around overcrowding. They also shut the Waldorf gym permanently, which I also used regularly, so I’ve decided to cancel my membership. Silly paying circa £80 a month for this, laughable if anything.

Negative experience: Over crowded since closing Shephards bush. Impossible to use any weights or machines. Shame as it was a decent gym before. They’re also charging £200 cancellation fee even though the gym is completely unusable. Defo one to avoid :)

Negative experience: A shame this gym has become completely overcrowded and impossible to use after they’ve shut the Shepherds Bush location (with 14 days notice no less) They also increased my membership from 69 to 89 out of nowhere because of this. Quite obvious the random influx of 5 star reviews are from employees and trainers

Fantastic experience: My favourite gym to date! I have attended many gyms in my time and this is by far my favourite, the staff are super welcoming, there is good equipment and I’ve never had trouble getting on anything I’ve needed at the times I’ve gone. I needed help on one visit and the manager Aynsley was lovely and accommodating and I felt very valued as a member. I’d definitely recommend.

Negative experience: FitnessFirst Hammersmith pulled out of ClassPass overnight with no notice at all, while I had a monthly subscription ongoing (I assume because it was recently overcrowded). As a consequence, I’m unable to book or use the gym services anymore. Unfair behaviour, would not recommend it.

Positive experience: The staff are super helpful and friendly. However the gym is extremely busy. It’s literally impossible to work out there Monday to Thursday after 5pm. Also the lockers in the male changing rooms are super dirty. I have mentioned it to the staff multiple times, yet no action is taken.

Positive experience: I have updated my review here because while it got insanely overcrowded to the point I couldn't even get in the sauna (in 20 years of going to gyms this had never happened before) the club is doing all they can to fix the issue. They are not taking on any new members and extended their opening times. So they have listened and are doing all they can. I simply would never go after 5pm or your workout will take twice as long. The staff are absolutely grate and deserve a 5 star rating. Staff like Brook really know what they are doing and are always welcoming.

Negative experience: Don’t give money to this evil and apparently failing company. Cancelled my membership months ago which they ignored. They keep hounding me. Steam room in my home club has not been repaired in 6 months, also they stopped providing towels. Then with 2 weeks notice they closed my home club (reason: landlord terminated contract) - FF will have known this months ago! Either they don’t care about their members or they can’t afford to care. Now that they closed the shepherds bush branch we’re being sent here and it’s impossibly crowded.

Negative experience: It hurts to write this review, because this gym used to be the best gym I’ve ever been to in my 20+ years of working out. Quite small, but it had everything you need and the staff were fantastic. What changed? Well, fitness first decided to close a nearby branch and have sent all those members here- and it’s become unusable. I can’t go during the day most of the time because of work commitments, so the only other option is late at night just before closing, but even then it’s still nearly impossible to get a bench or a machine without waiting for each, and I just don’t have the time to spend an hour and a half doing a 45 minute workout. Unfortunately I paid for the year upfront, even then I think it will be worth wasting the last few months of fees to get into a gym that isn’t dangerously crowded. Extra star for the awesome staff that I know are feeling it too.

Fantastic experience: One of the best clubs I’ve had the pleasure of being a member of. The gym staff are incredibly helpful and friendly particularly staff members Brooke and Rashan a true credit to the fitness first team. The space is always clean and the machines in great operational order. All round great experience.

Negative experience: Don't believe the recent fake reviews that are giving the gym 4/5 stars to keep the overall score high. It was already a small, cramped gym before they decided to let all the people from another branch use it too. AC is never working properly, not clean, off peak hours are no longer a thing cause it's so busy. Thank God I have a rolling contract and can leave. Feel sorry for the others that are gonna be stuck here. £80/month is a joke

Negative experience: Great workout classes , FAR too busy since Shepherd bush closed , it’s HORRIBLE trying to workout . Gym small and far too overcrowded! I seriously hope that the club do something to limit the amount of people , it’s ridiculous. Forget training 4-8pm, mission impossible to find equipment! Trainers are all very kind and very professional!

Fantastic experience: I am both a member and a teacher at Fitness First Hammersmith. Firstly, from a member’s perspective, I love it! I have been using the Hammersmith FF for about 5 years. There are a great range of classes, the gym is always kept super clean, if there are any malfunctions with equipment/facilities, the staff work to fix them as soon as possible. If ever I have queries with the equipment, the staff are super happy to help. I tend to go at off peak times, so have no issue doing my full work out and having access to all equipment that I need when I need it. From a teacher’s perspective, I have to give a huge shout out to Aynsley. I have taught for a number of organisations now, and have experienced a range of treatment… Aynsley and FF Hammersmith are at the top end of that range. I am treated with respect, I am provided with all the equipment I need, I feel my expertise is both valued and recognised AND this is the only gym in which the staff members have actually taken my class, so they know how to explain it to their members. I am passionate that teachers are treated well, (not only because it’s just common courtesy, but that’s how you make the good ones stay at your gym) and this has been my experience here. Plus I LOVE both the members that come to my class and the staff. I’m always coming in to see friends when I come to work <3 If you’ve made it to the end of this essay of a review, and decide to sign up, come and take my barre class - I promise I’ll have you working hard!!

Positive experience: Lately I have been worried if the club in this area closes too, two clubs where I trained Angel and Sheperbush have closed, this is worrying and I have also seen that all the staff that were in Hammermish have completely left. I am noticing a very small drop, the steam bath has not been working for almost two weeks and the trainers are not at 100x100.

Negative experience: Used to be a great gym all until the Shepherd’s Bush branch closed down and they decided it would be a great idea to send them over to Hammersmith. So you basically have two gym members combined into one. 1 hour works now take 2.30hr because of the amount of waiting you do. I can understand Fitness first want to make up for the closure of Shepherd’s Bush to there customer but if your going to offer them something for free at least give them off peak access why do members who pay a premium price have to suffer as if the gym is big enough for your customers let alone customer from another branch too. All the regulars from Hammersmith are not happy with what’s going on you have either a queue or like 4 people rotating on 1 machine and people walking on top of each other just to get around. It’s also not fair on the staff who now have to run around x3 harder to make sure everything’s in check.

Fantastic experience: Impressed with the experience at Hammersmith, spacious and clean. Friendly staff and found all the equipment I needed for my leg session. There is no better gym in the area!

Negative experience: I cannot recommend this gym to anyone. The pool / sauna are very nice. The gym itself has very little equipment for a £79 PCM gym. Very limited equipment , tied in with the fact that it’s clearly running at a 200%+ capacity with the closure of the Shepherd’s Bush branch means that it takes 40 min+ just to queue up and get on a machine let alone find any dumbbells. It’s wrong to charge £79PCM and to let so many people in at once. Having spoken to other members , there’s a collective frustration with how things are being run. I hope management can find a solution as to how to limit the amount of people who all live locally and depend on this branch.

Positive experience: Very nice,clean,a bit crowded, nobody shaves in the showers.Showers are clean. Great atmosphere,small but quite clean swimming pool. Sauna, lots of gadgets which make your stay enjoyable. Personal trainers are mostly men.They use lockers as their own storage,so, almost 30 best lockers are constanly locked.Members use what's left.It looks like there are more than 100 lockers,but half of them are not convenient to use,so, private trainers occupy the best lockers full stop.It is not right.

Fantastic experience: I’ve previously cancelled my membership at this location and not visited it for the better part of a year. Before leaving, I left quite a critical review. Recently however; a member friend of mine invited me to train with him so I decided to give it another go and purchased a day pass. I must say, things have improved at this location since my critical review. It’s not as crowded as it once was, and the locker rooms are once again uncluttered and feel cleaner. Also, the gym has some useful new equipment and a slightly improved layout. I’m happy to recommend this gym to anyone and still greatly appreciate the staff working there including the PTs and housekeeping staff.

Fantastic experience: Fitness First Hammersmith is a great gym, I highly recommend. It has nice swimming pool and spa area. Early morning times are the best times to come. The staff and Personal trainers are also super friendly and help out loads.

Negative experience: Be warned, this small club is about to become very overcrowded as Fitness First have closed their Shepherds Bush club (with only 16 days' notice to staff and members) and told all members there to use Hammersmith instead. Personally I will not be doing so as having been there in the past, the club is in a deep basement without natural light and feels cramped, and the studio is unpleasant to use (dark, no mirrors, no sprung floor).

Positive experience: Staff are nice, club offers a good range of group exercise classes and very clean. However there are a few issues that I like to raise and hope they can be rectified as soon as possible. 1- The ladies shower is in a desperate needs for some maintenance. The door of some are faulty, and the soap dispensers are either broken or empty. 2 - Some of the bikes for the spin class need repairing as they miss the straps or have a faulty seat locks which make them unsafe to use. 3- The body pump class is popular and more weights are needed. I hope the club considering introducing morning body pump classes as well.

Positive experience: Good clean gym. Pool is shallow and a bit small. Changing rooms are always clean but some showers don’t have hot water. Gym is small but has everything you need. Never a queue for machines. Stagg are super friendly. Lacks natural daylight.

Negative experience: Staff not helpful, cold and very strict. I pay for Baker Street fitness first and I wanted to try the gym near my home but definitely it’s not the same service … They could be a bit more relax and nicer.

Positive experience: For it's size and equipment range, £80 is way overpriced. In comparison, The Gym group was 4 times bigger in size, newer equipment and £26 a month with no 1 year contract. I would have stayed with them but moved home and unfortunately fitness first is the closest gym to me.

Negative experience: Do not visit this gym. It is terrible. Without any prior notice, they close the pool whenever they like, and when it is open, it is only partially due to kid-friendly classes. Unfortunately, no one has ever mentioned this before. I complained, and they replied that it is legal to occasionally close certain gym areas. Most people use knickers rather than bathing suits in the pool or steam room and they scrub their bodies leaving the skin around. It is disgusting...

Negative experience: Unfortunately had a very racist experience at this gym. My white friend came the other day and brought a plus one for the first time for free and the staff let them in. Yet when I tried to do the same, the staff were very arrogant and adamant and said no to the second person for no reason. I cancelled my membership, better to spend your money elsewhere!!

Negative experience: I’ve been at this gym for over 3 years and overall was very good. Unfortunately the management and staff are extremely arrogant and rude. Very disappointing! You have just lost yourself a member, as soon as mode gym opens in Bromyard avenue in September I will cancel my membership.

Fantastic experience: I joined fitness first just a couple of weeks ago & am really enjoying the experience. Especially enjoy relaxing in the sauna after a swim, the yoga & pilates classes & using the gym. The staff are v nice & helpful. The environment is nice, lively & clean.
