Our comment from FitFit UK about Brockwell Lido:
Brockwell Lido is a stunning outdoor swimming facility located in the heart of London’s Brockwell Park. It features a beautiful 50-metre pool that is perfect for both casual swimmers and serious athletes alike. Many visitors have praised the pool for its size and the refreshing experience it offers, especially during the hot summer days.
Highlights of Brockwell Lido include:
- Clean and well-maintained pool: Guests often mention that the pool is immaculately clean, making it a delightful place to swim.
- Friendly and supportive staff: Most reviews highlight the helpfulness and warmth of the staff, enhancing the overall experience.
- A welcoming atmosphere: The lido creates a vibrant community environment, especially during the summer months.
- Great facilities around the pool: The surrounding area is spacious for sunbathing and relaxation.
- Tasty food options available: The on-site café provides delicious snacks, including pizza, adding to the enjoyable experience.
On the other hand, there are some noted drawbacks, particularly concerning maintenance and cleanliness of changing facilities:
- Inconsistent cleanliness: Some users mentioned that the changing rooms and showers can be dirty, which detracts from the overall experience.
- Overcrowding during peak times: There can be issues with getting space to relax or swim, particularly when the lido is filled to capacity.
- Management concerns: Several reviews have pointed out that the management could improve in addressing cleanliness and maintenance issues promptly.
- Technology hiccups: The booking system has been described as clunky and frustrating, making it challenging to secure a spot during busy periods.
Despite several areas needing improvement, Brockwell Lido is definitely a beloved community spot that continues to attract visitors for its charm and wonderful pool experience.

Brockwell Lido: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Didn't swim but used the fitness studios. It was clean and had air conditioning. Still a great place .staff are friendly as well.
Negative experience: Always dirty and smelly, also the hydra pool has had stagnant mouldy water in for over a year. Myself and my boyfriend also recieved homophobia from a group of men in the steam room, which wasn’t dealt with well by management. They wrote it down but didn’t take names or make any sort of consequence for the people who were telling us “that’s not welcome here” “nobody wants to see that”. Overall a sad experience and a run down place.
Fantastic experience: A great pool, with good space around it to get changed and relax. Nice helpful staff.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place for Warm summers
Fantastic experience: A very well maintained and clean outdoor swimming pool
Negative experience: They let in far too many people so you can hardly find anywhere to sit and the pool was so busy. It was a bit unclean too.
Positive experience: 50m pool - lane swimming is good albeit flimsy lane dividers which when packed can interrupt the stroke. Nice cafe to restock the calories!!
Fantastic experience: you can pay entry at the door, pool is fab, when the weather's nice it's bliss AND you can smell pizza while you're swimming
Positive experience: Had an amazing time in the brockwell lido on a sunny Friday with a friend. The staff were a bit rude at the entrance but it didn’t really affect our experience. The lido and very large and seemed clean enough. Be aware that the water is very cold, but on a hot day this was perfect.
Fantastic experience: Great lido. Clean and plenty of space outside too. The water was pretty warm. Showers and changing area inside was dated, but all perfectly functional. Remember to take cash for the lockers as they don’t have any spare tokens or change.
Fantastic experience: Great day out, affordable, long hours to spend at pool 1-6pm there was an impromptu dance by a dance group which was a lot of fun! I think if they had background music there it would add to atmosphere. We will be back Herne Hill lovely area also.
Positive experience: £8 entry and you could get it by the reception. Rundown and dirty changing rooms and the swimsuit dryer is down. Lockers are outside by the pool on the left and there are 48 lockers in total. The pool is 50m and nice itself and it could get quite busy after 10am.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic experience here. Pool was immaculately clean, plenty of space to sit around the pool and good changing rooms. £8 for the general session feels like good value.
Negative experience: Website is broken, doesn’t allow for new users to register.
Fantastic experience: Love the lido - great atmosphere, pretty warm, good pizzas!
Fantastic experience: Great lido with 50 meters pool, my favourite place to swim all year
Negative experience: Good size Minimal heating Plenty of space to lounge Basic facilities; clean
Positive experience: Nice staff, lovely pool, very summery atmosphere by the poolside. Changing rooms are quite dirty, particularly later in the day.
Positive experience: Great lido, feels like you’re on holiday. Very busy when it’s hot but still room to do slow laps or read and sunbathe. Only a few showers and changing rooms could be bigger but can make do.
Positive experience: First visit today. Pool is nice but the facilities are grim! Changing room awful! Everything run down and dirty. Cafe is just ok but doesn't have much other than pizza. Don't know if I'll go again. Still have to check out Tooting lido.
Negative experience: Lack on information from incredibly rude staff who were on a power trip - attempted to embarrass me in front of a a queue of customers. I swim a lot and can say this is the first time I have left a pool more stressed than when I entered it. Will not be returning.
Fantastic experience: Defo recommend the only issue was changing rooms is shared. I like my previcy when getting changed. Pool is soo clean and refreshing. Stay as long as u want .
Negative experience: Tuesday 1pm and the lido it’s too full and still getting more people in. No place for towels but the concrete floor. No space to get in the pool as everyone is seated by the pool, blocking everyone from going in. Stayed for 5 min after paying £16 for two people.
Fantastic experience: Great outdoor swimming pool in the middle of Brockwell Park. Plenty of outdoor space around the pool foe relaxing/sunbathing after a swim. There's also a nice cafe.
Positive experience: If you are tight on budget and can't get out of the city, it's the perfect Lido to go to. I would avoid evenings though. Too many people.
Positive experience: Lido is great. Gym facilities less so. Jacuzzi isn’t working
Fantastic experience: Visited last week. Lovely big 50 metre pool split for lane swimming and casual swimming. Enjoyed my visit
Positive experience: Was at the lido cafe, poolside, quite busy, lively and noisy but as it was a very sunny day not surprisingly. Pleasant staff and cold lager.
Negative experience: We visited with my partner and our toddler for a bit of fun. The water was so cold that we didn’t really wanna stay in the pool, my poor baby was shivering. Also, they were so busy but they have no family changing space, very little and small facilities generally to shower and change, I was queuing while holding my baby as there’s only one changing cubicle which is the only place with a baby changing table. Not very family friendly!
Positive experience: Stunning to look at until you get up close. Pool is lovely, and we are so lucky to have such an iconic lido on our doorstep but frankly, it’s not being looked after… The facilities here are shabby for the £8 you pay to get in to lie in dirty concrete slabs they cannot even be bothered to pressure wash clean and clear the weeds. The sauna is out of action, chemicals stored in public areas and ladies poolside changing room is frankly appalling. (broken toilet seats, broken loo roll dispensers which have clearly been broken for ages) …and not clean. If I was the general manager of Brockwell Lido, I’d be rather embarrassed. Such a shame Fusion does not take more pride in its assets it is operating.
Positive experience: It's amazing and cleanliness has greatly improved recently in the changing rooms. But there's still a way to go.
Negative experience: I became a member a few months ago using the gym exclusively. On a few occasions I noticed an urine smell coming from restrooms, but gym was fine. Currently the spa has sewage flies and a very disturbing stank in sauna and steamroom. The lido changing rooms are the same. The facility is not being kept clean, is clearly understaffed and is not up to a Health and Safety standard at the moment. I wish this was read by relevant people to make changes ASAP.
Fantastic experience: Simplesmente sensacional....
Positive experience: Cool steam & sauna facilities, plunge pool / jacuzzi not working.
Negative experience: As a gym, it's just about okay... A lot of the equipment is quite tired. There are pins missing on the cable machines, quite a lot of the cardio doesn't work, and quite limited freeweights. I'm only a member cos it's over the road, but I've kept my other gym membership for proper workouts. The changing rooms are grim and could be cleaner, but I understand they're due to be refurbished. That said, it's priced about right for the quality and general kit. The pool is what makes it.
Negative experience: Visited the Center this morning was calling to see if facilities was operational no one answered the phones? Rocked up & paid to use the sauna & steam! Sauna was packed as nothing else worked? I could not relax in spa area as it had a very musty smell of damp & urine, the area was very dirty. I was told cleaners had not been in due to bank holiday weekend, the area should be cleaned every day for hygiene purposes. Steam not working, no signs to advise customers? Complete waste of time, requested a refund of £8 which could only be returned to me in credit! Asked to speak to the manager was told he could not leave the poolside as he was doubling up as a life guard? The council needs to do better you can't feel healthy if your environment if it's musty & smelly or not in use. The young man at reception tried his best so my two stars are for him.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place lovely steam..that was then 2024 is another story let's just hope they keep their word hydra pool should be working
Negative experience: bank holiday opening times on the website say until 1700. tried to call twice today to confirm this, and got no answer. arrive at 1540 to see three staff doing not very much on the front desk, and be told it's a 1600 close. staff didn't seem care or apologise for the inconvenience. always dirty inside, lockers and equipment constantly broken. the latter I complained about previously and never got a response. all super frustrating
Positive experience: Great lido! Gets super busy in the summer so highly recommend to book in advance. Gym is great as well.
Fantastic experience: For what this place may lack in facilities, it is made up in great staff. Shout out to Arya and Sterling for their kindness and warmth. You guys are great! A little sunshine and that pool is heavenly.
Negative experience: I love the lido BUT it’s a health hazard - it’s filthy, so dirty, everything is often broken - showers , toilets etc. if public health were to test it I’m sure it would be immediately shut down, needs to be taken over from fusion asap. Paying £40 a month for what? It’ seems like it’s never been cleaned.
Negative experience: See the reviews below. Dirty and badly kept. Broken equipment broken and never repaired or replaced. There was once a cigarette end on the men's changing room floors for 3 days until I complained. Glad I cancelled my direct debit.
Positive experience: Very hit and miss whether you can swim if you are a faster swimmer, I’ve often not been able to swim because it’s so crowded and no lane control. If you swim faster than 2.00/100m its going to be a challenge to swim at all, so don’t rely on this pool if you’re training for something. if you’re fast you may not be able to use it in summer. Sometimes it would be ok totally unpredictable but in summer you can’t as it’s too busy and the lanes are at one pace. For casual swimmers it’s fine. Terribly run, sometimes they just close half the pool but still apparently have the same number using it! The booking and queuing in summer is a pain but it’s better this year than it was before so must’ve improved the system. Very unclean and changing rooms filthy and unusable. Women’s toilets have never worked in at least the last 5 years. I think there is one toilet the others out of order for at least 5 years. If I didn’t live two mins away I would never come here as I can’t go in the changing rooms because they make me gag they are so filthy. I just walk home which is fine, but if you can’t do that you’d need to consider how you can wash and change afterwards. I certainly wouldn’t reccommend it to anyone not local. In fairness I don’t think I would reccommend if at all really. For lounging on the side with occasional dip it’s fine but not great for actual swimming. Winters probably fine, I only go apr/may to sept. You still won’t be able to toilet wash or shower though.
Negative experience: Have been a member for a couple of years and I'm sad to be having to stop my membership as this now is plain exploitation from Fusion of this space and our love for it. We have no hot water for a week now at the gym which is essential as well as having only two working showers for women in the whole gym for months now, a broken steamroom and hydro pool for a year and a half as well as a broken outside sauna for even longer. On top of that the pool is dirty and some of the running, cycling, the rowing machine and more are not working. Is been a joke and Fusion is taking advantage of the fact that people appreciated this local amenity. They are thieves really, false advertising all these amenities and basic facilities that don't work and don't exist.
Positive experience: Great to have a community Lido, awful booking experience; website slow and often crashes on booking. Booking process is a deterrent for coming more
Negative experience: The lido is nice but the gym is in a terrible, dirty state. Changing rooms are gross and no lockers work
Negative experience: The gym is filthy, changing rooms feel like a health hazard and don’t look like they’ve been cleaned in months. Lots of equipment is very broken, dirty and smelly, including the spa facilities which are covered in mould. A massive cockroach crawled out from under one of the benches i was using and so i left the facilities immediately and will not return until under different management. Can’t comment on the lido but I’m very skeptical that’s cleaned if the gym is not…. Such a shame because the gym could make so much if invested in and be a community hub as there’s not really many other options around Herne Hill
Negative experience: Pool itself is great but the changing rooms are grim. Of the three ladies toilets, one is out of order and one cubicle has its door hanging off the hinges. The floor is dirty and the changing cubicle lock is broken.
Positive experience: Gostei mas muito caro 8 libras um adulto 5 libras uma criança só por 2 horas
Negative experience: La información de cómo comprar un ticket para la piscina no es clara .
Positive experience: Я не попав. Треба букати
Fantastic experience: The atmosphere was superb. The service was great and the coffee was to my liking
Negative experience: I paid for a visit to the gym today showers not working ( anywhere) steam room broken sauna smelled of sweat health suite floor area dirty changing room freezing cold jazuzzi water murky and luke warm several machines in the gym broken awful awful awful
Negative experience: Very poor service, the staff don't care about customers who had problems due website booking and absolutely ignore to refund.
Positive experience: I love coming here in the summer when the weather gets warmer (not heated pool) It gets very popular in the summer and can be hard to get access, when you do it’s great
Negative experience: Great pool but avoid the spa - whirlpool is cold, showers don’t work, steam room broken down, sauna completely overcrowded, whole places smells off, no soap in soap dispensers, what’s going on??
Positive experience: It is not the cleanest place, nor is the service well organised, but it’s great to have a large public pool in London. Thank you!
Positive experience: Beautiful place, lovely water but the operators Fusion are shafting it… expensive and poorly maintained, not very clean. Brockwell Lido deserves better!
Fantastic experience: Nice size pool and cold but nice to swim in it specially in the summer 50m long and have few lanes if you go for serious swimming
Negative experience: Pool is fantastic, but EVERYTHING else is just run into the ground unfortunately. And they are still charging alot for a totally unfit, over crowded, seriously dated gym membership.
Negative experience: Just when we thought things can't get any worse, the contractor, Fusion has just replaced the local site management with totally inept corporate "yes" people. Meanwhile, as the new management flounce around looking important, the entire centre gets more decrepit and filthy by the day. Fusion, your time here is up. Go!!
Negative experience: This is by far the worst kept gym I have and will ever go to. Broken machines (one has been out for a year), disgusting toilets, surly staff, and broken lockers. Avoid if you can
Negative experience: The website and app for this lido is truly awful. I could not get the app to work at all. The website needed regular password resets and sign ins. You can then only book one ticket so can’t guarantee to swim with a friend.
Negative experience: The Brockwell Lido is a disappointing facility that is poorly run and lacks basic hygiene standards. Despite charging high fees for membership, the facilities are often half-functional with showers, saunas, and steam rooms hardly working. The damp walls are a breeding ground for black mould, which emits a foul odor that can be nauseating at times. To add insult to injury, the management charges an exorbitant £5 fee for replacement cards if we misplace them, which is an unnecessary and unfair burden on members. The gym is also substandard, with outdated equipment that is not maintained regularly. It is no surprise that many people have left the facility due to their dissatisfaction with the poor conditions. Overall, the Brockwell Lido is a poorly maintained property that fails to live up to its promises. The lack of attention to hygiene and maintenance is alarming, and it is clear that the management needs to take immediate action to improve the facility's standards.
Positive experience: Staff have been really helpful and friendly so far. The men’s lockers need to be looked at. Hardly any of the mens lockers were working. Surely padlocked lockers would be better and cheaper to maintain.
Fantastic experience: What a great place to swim and relax over the weekend.
Positive experience: Lido is amazing but terribly run — staff insist on checking in everyone by hand which creates huge queues at busy times and are incredibly slow. Surely there’s a better way of doing things?
Negative experience: Haven't been for 5 years but lo and behold the website still doesn't work. It's shocking. You can't book a session online for a public pool. It's a shame as it's a beautiful pool. Jusy shockingly bad management
Negative experience: Lido fine but useless embarassing website by fusion leisure I literally do not go if I have to book online it is that tortorous You have to login, then select a time and then login again AND THEN SELECT A TIME AGAIN There are other user unfriendly issues. Complete rubbish so yeah 1 star because the experience of trying to book online makes me want to gauge my eyes out
Positive experience: Regular attendee, Lido is okay.. The gym facilities have seen better days. Combination of vandalism, plus the gym not receiving regular upkeep.. I don't know if it's a Fusion lifestyle issue, or general management. For example, the lockers in the men's are degraded badly and are barely usable. I went to have a shower the other day, and there was still an old plaster in there from the last time I used it. Peoples lack of cleanliness is bothersome.. I know its not easy with upkeep, but it's one of these places that would be sorely missed if not in the community.. Wonder if it would fare better in the hands of better gyms..
Fantastic experience: Beautiful 50m unheated lido. Booking ahead on the app recommend. 400 rabbits at poolside serves great coffee / pizza / beers
Negative experience: Review is for the Gym. It's in a terrible state (equipment broken/falling apart, lack of weights etc) so don't sign up unless you just want to use the pool. Fusion's management of the gym is dreadful so don't expect any communication. Been messaging through their support system and even though they say they'll get back in 72 hours they never do.
Negative experience: I cannot believe how this place has become so filthy and run down. I just rejoined after being away for a few years and my goodness. I was scared to touch anything. The showers, spa and gym are so dirty. Dust all over the machines. I don’t understand what I’m paying nearly £50 a month for. So much potential and it’s a shame its gone so downhill.
Negative experience: How elitist and discriminatory. Can’t use the toilet unless you spend £8 on a ticket. Can’t pay in cash because they don’t support access for all. Blatant middle class snobbery. Makes me sick that they have the licence to operate in a public park.
Negative experience: I have been a member of the lido for over a year and I am appalled by how poorly is managed by Fusion. Today it was very busy and they had to close two swimming lanes because they didn't have enough staff. The women's changing rooms are constantly dirty with many shower non working. The health spa is an absolute disaster! The hydroponic pool has been broken since November and it seems they have given up repairing it ( whilst never been clear about its status) the steam room has also been intermittently broken. The sauna as a result gets incredibly busy, making it horrible to be in it. Many machines in the gym are broken....the list is long! A terrible example of an important community space left to decay! Shameful!
Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. Made a complaint about one of the class instructors last year, yet keep getting told at the reception that they havenot received my complaint even though I show them to their face confirmation that it has been sent. Has been sent an additional 3 times and had no response back. Staff are rude and facilities are disgusting. £50 per month for this is a joke. Thankfully I didn't join as a member due to their poor service and have facilities near me which are less than half of this. Don't seem to take any of their customers complaints seriously or can't be bothered to do anything on them
Fantastic experience: I was visiting a friend in London recently, who is a member of the Brockwell Lido. So it was easy to join her in the Gym and Sauna/Spa as a day guest for £8.00. The staff were absolutely super, friendly, open and very welcoming. The gym well equipped and the sauna a wonderful place to relax in after the workout. What a gem located in the attractive Brockwell Park in Brixton.
Fantastic experience: Love this place! I have been going here all my life and I have made so many fond memories here. The classes are fantastic and the gym has a variety of machines for all abilities. Cant forget the pool either... if you're brave enough to brace the cold its a fantastic experience.
Positive experience: Trying to get a slot is like trying to get an audience with the pope! The fusion website you have to go on to book is clunky and glitches. As summer approaches forget making a visit because it's always booked up days in advance. So you need to be really organised look for when it will be sunny and book possibly a week in advance. It's not first come first served anymore it hasn't been for years. So its become the gilded cage generally for gentrified folk. I enjoy the memories of the past here.
Negative experience: I recently visited Brockwell Lido and was extremely disappointed. The changing rooms were filthy and the toilets disgusting. The pool was filled with dirt and debris, and the lifeguards on duty were unhelpful and uninterested. The staff were unfriendly and unresponsive to my questions. The whole experience was an utter disaster and I would not recommend it to anyone.
Negative experience: Lido is a great facility. Shame it's so filthy. Gym, changing rooms and showers are disgusting Broken, smelly toilets, most lockers don't work... everything is dirty! Please get some effective managers and hire decent cleaners. This gym has great potential and would be an amazing facility if it was properly managed, maintained and cleaned. Such a shame
Positive experience: Great lido that Fusion Leisure are running into the ground. The pool is beautiful and huge, staff are really friendly. Pool is always closed last minute because of various technical/staffing issues. Facilities always broken with seemingly little motivation to fix them, outside showers have been broken for about 2 months now? Always dirty because fusion don't seem to hire cleaners and expect reception or lifeguards to clean on what is just about living wage (which they were basically forced into paying)
Positive experience: The Lido has a gym, spa and a swimming pool and is located inside the Brockwell park. The hygiene standard for the dressing rooms and toilets is good and the equipment for training and fitness are varied with trained instructors to guide clients. Staff working at the facility are very polite and friendly. There are also spaces to park one's bike outside. Lovely, lovely place.
Negative experience: expensive membership, do not see why I am paying all this money! the gym is filthy, the toilets stink, there is often no toilet paper, no soap in the toilets and I have never seen anyone cleaning. Lockers often do not work, classes are cancelled with little to no notifications and they are difficult to book! Also, there are no many available! Equipment in the gym is often broken, sauna and steam room no working half of the time, sometimes for weeks. I have possiblility to bring guests four times a month and I feel ashamed to do so. I hate writing bad reviews but this gym deserves it all. Positive notes, the instructors Julia and the one doing Dance Classes are GREAT! they have a great energy and are super welcoming, as well as professional! They deserve 10 stars instead.
Positive experience: Pool is good, although quite tired and expensive considering its not heated. Some gym equipment has gone months without being fixed. Toilets not kept up and half the lockers never seem to work…
Negative experience: Recently joined as a member and sadly have to say it is absolutely filthy! So disappointing because the facilities themselves are decent, and the pool is lovely but honestly I was worried to have a shower, grime everywhere. The spa facilities look like they haven't had a deep clean in years. Management has to do something about it, or otherwise I'm sure it will fail its next health and safety inspection and will ultimately be closed down.
Negative experience: Brockwell Lido is a great place to swim, but it’s let down by the lack of attention paid to maintenance and cleanliness. It’d be too easy to blame the staff but they all seem to be hard-working and diligent. I can only assume that the issue instead stems from not having enough staff and/or funds to address the issues. Examples include broken showers, broken & tired gym equipment, locker doors hanging-off hinges, many locker locks broken, men’s-wet-side toilet door missing, men’s showers smelly and unclean, swim-lanes often closed due to lack of life-guards, café staff always run-off their feet, overly cumbersome booking system, out-door sauna out of order, indoor steam-room out of order, some parts of outdoor areas heavily soiled by geese. Honestly, I’d be happy to pay a bit more on my membership to have the facility kept in good working order and to have it preserved for future generations rather than run into the ground now.
Positive experience: One of London's most beautiful lidos. I have a seasonal membership and visit regularly. The downsides are that - during the week - they do not open all the lanes, as there are not enough life guards, so it often gets very congested. Also, they often close early (including on Friday afternoons).
Negative experience: I am really disappointed by this Gym. Such a shame as it’s run by the council and could be so lovely. 8£ gets you access; I can get over the gym facilities but I was really concerned by the state of the women’s bathrooms. No soap in any dispenser. 1/8 showers actually worked. The drains in the showers were so filthy, there was so much hair and plastic wrappers built up on the grates. The staff at the door were just chilling and it seems no one takes responsibility to clean anything.
Negative experience: Should be a 5 star place, the pool itself is lovely - but the website is literally unusable to the point of not being able to book 90% of the time (and they don't answer the phone either). The changing rooms are also often filthy, and the pool surround could use some work. Fusion Lifestyle need to lose their management contract.
Positive experience: It's very hard to get a booking, shame really. I'd love to be able to be here more often.
Fantastic experience: I think my new favourite lido in London. Loads of space to chill around, loungers to use, pizza served around the pool (didn’t eat but looked amazing), huge pool with loads of lanes. 2 hour slots rather than one. Bit more expensive than other lidos but IMO worth it. Only bad thing, the toilets were absolutely rank (especially when barefoot) - bins overflowing, dirty floors etc. didn’t put me off from coming back but I will avoid the loo next time!
Positive experience: This could be such a great gym if it was looked after better. Facilities are not the cleanest and there is always a funky smell in the ladies locker room/ restrooms. The opening hours are quite restricted especially during the weekend when you would want to have a bit more flexibility. I really wish they would upgrade to electronic keys to get in and out 24/7. Lastly the gym equipment.. there's no smith machine and the the dumbbells aren't enough. I can't never grab the ones I want as there is only 1 set of each.
Negative experience: This is a lovely lido but the changing room are so filthy it really put me off. The floor is disgusting and there is only one toilet working with long queues. They are constantly out of tokens for the safety storage so you have to leave your belongings unattended. When I left I saw a bag abandoned by the side of the road, it was obvious it had been stolen at the lido. They had to close lanes today because of staff shortage. Such a shame as this could be a wonderful place. Just get it cleaned and maintained!!
Negative experience: Pro: -Cool swimming pool, perfect location. Cons: - The website is absolutely useless as it’s not working properly so never managed to book online in advance. Basically you have to turn up and hoping that the swimming pool is not too full. For instance, they didn’t let my friend in. -Some members of the staff are rude. Which it’s a shame as some other members are very helpful .
Negative experience: Pool is lovely but: Locker rooms are filthy with a horrible smell On Saturday morning all of the women’s toilets were blocked Lost property (ie if you accidentally leave a swimsuit) is immediately binned. They advise they will keep it if you call, but also state they’re not able to answer the phone at the moment due to staffing issues. So my swimsuit I’ve had for years was binned, despite coming back very quickly to collect it.
Fantastic experience: Great open air pool and surprisingly warm.... You need to keep moving though
Positive experience: A very good local gym. It has good range of classes. The pool is often busy during the summer but it is expected isnt it :) I have been to the spinning class, some machines were not working so some people needed to leave but they said they were aware of it and changing the old machines. If you are going with a car the parking is often tight. Just wait 4-5 minutes and someone will be leaving from the carpark. Overall it is a nice place
Negative experience: Gym is decent Lido is good Changing facilities, showers, toilets are constantly dirty. Steam room has been broken for the best part of the last year on and off. Sauna and jacuzzi facilities are therefore crowded. Cleaning is lacking of all facilities Lockers in the changing rooms are mostly broken Shower doors off hinges and about 2/6 showers in the mens work Told the receptionist I was leaving and they just showed me how to do it and didn't enquire about why at all - kind of speaks volumes of the place. Is a shame because could be a really good facility but ran without any investment for some time and with horrific cleaning standards. Seems like good value but don't waste your money until they put some money into it
Positive experience: Difficulty in getting through on the phones. Pool was lovely, lifeguards around the pool. Nice food from the café. Could do with loads more seating. You just put your towl on the concrete. Nice office staff
