Strode Leisure Centre

Positive experience: Really nice local leisure centre. Good availability of slots at weekends (at least so far in autumn/winter). Our daughter is loving the swimming classes she’s doing. Good showers. Only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is I yearn for a sauna or steam room. I know that’s an ask for a public pool but I’d happily pay a bit extra and I understand that some public leisure centres do have them.

Fantastic experience: Easy parking and convenient to get to. Nice helpful staff and they also do Armed forces veterans discount.

Negative experience: Tried to just pay and swim, but was denied,they tried to pressure me into a membership. Very disappointed won't be returning. Would not recommend.

Negative experience: Pool is mediocre. Showers are OK. Children's swimming lessons are disappointing. Customer service is poor.

Negative experience: If could give 0 stars I would. I joined Strode Leisure Centre for "unlimited use of the pool" well, that's a joke. There are 3 hour long lane swimming sessions a week that working adults can get to (I can only get to that many because I work from home). It's frequently ridiculously busy, I went this evening and you literally couldn't get in the pool. Me and the guy who walked in behind me turned around and walked back into the changing rooms and left. When you can get in, no one enforces the lane speeds, so you wind up with a bunch of really slow lanes and one fast lane with someone inexplicably wearing fins and flying up and down the pool like a torpedo and the lanes are so narrow you can't pass people. I hate going here to try and swim! If I could cancel my membership without penalty I would, it's a total waste of money! TL;DR: If you're an adult who wants to lane swim, go somewhere else!

Negative experience: Have used this center in the past manly before lock down, so when my insurance company suggested me joining a gym as part off my recovery from a gir and run I suggested Stoude. They enrolled me yesterday no welcome pack cant access web site make enquiry book class have been phoning on and off for 24 hours no answer,no reply to voice mail really regretting suggesting this gym

Negative experience: The North Somerset forgotten sports centre. It has not been updated in years. You have to book the gym because it is so small. Portishead, Nailsea, and weston Super Mare have far more invested.

Fantastic experience: Took granddaughter aged 2 to Sunday morning swim in baby pool. Lovely deck level pool. Got busier about 10:30am One Family changing room in men's changing area. All clean. You need locker lock, they MAY supply them?? Then soft play with inflatables in sports hall. Great range of equipment. Soft building blocks etc. Very clean. Then to outside fenced play park. Great range AGAIN. Check timetable for activities. Free car parking. Fantastic resource.

Negative experience: I have tried to call them several times for different reasons and they literally never pick up the phone. I had to drive their to get some of my questions/ enquiries answered. It's ridiculous... but great reception staff.

Positive experience: Have never used it as a Sports Centre ... From what l have seen it all looks good and has a wide range of exercises available and a good size Swimming Pool ... The Centre is used as a Voting Station, hence my Visits ☺️

Positive experience: It's OK, doesn't seem to get a great deal of open swim sessions. It's either lane swimming, lessons or children activities. Had a few inconsistent experiences at reception with mixed information. But it's OK, suits what I need for now.

Fantastic experience: One of my favourite pools (and its not even outdoors). Really friendly, always chat with people and no-one swimming aggressively. Great facilities.

Positive experience: The classes are well run with good teachers, I like using the gym, the staff are very helpful but there is sometimes a lack of communication between the mangement and the public. Some of the equipment needs updating on the sports hall, weights, mats steps etc.

Fantastic experience: A small but well run leisure center with a decent sized pool a kids training pool and plenty of gyms and areas for badminton, football etc. . also has a large feild outside for outdoor sports and the membership is very good.

Positive experience: Lovely little pool for my 2 year old son , non lockable lockers unless you have your own padlock wasn't good , and the young lad at the reception today was very ride and unwelcoming

Positive experience: First time I’ve visited in years. Changing rooms have improved and the gym.Greeted by friendly staff.Went for swim only, pool was warm and air temp was good. Lane swimming was a bit confusing as some of the pool was being used for lessons and lanes were too narrow for the amount of swimmers.Much nicer than Portishead leisure centre.

Fantastic experience: Lots of people trying hard to get things going in the hub. I've had a lovely morning at stay and play plus cake, drink and chat which was mostly older people which includes me these days.

Fantastic experience: Tried it as my local pool didn't open as early and wanted to swim with my 18 month old son. Have been going there ever since. Much prefer this to Backwell. The changing rooms are better, the training pool is great, it's very informal and both me and my son felt really relaxed and comfortable there. Receptionists have been super friendly and answer any questions I might have. Very good with my young son too who can be a bit grumpy at times! I've got epilepsy so always tell the lifeguards. They have so far all been really friendly and understanding (other places I've visited have been quite dismissive and seemingly uninterested). I will continue to use Strode pool regularly.

Positive experience: Great for children's parties our children had a fantastic time with all their friends at a birthday party.

Negative experience: Visited today for a swim. Changing rooms have improved. Reasonable price for a swim. Very unfriendly staff and customer experience. No one really smiled or made you feel welcome at all. Felt unconfortable being there. Real shame how this hasn't changed. But I won't let it put me off but the pool was nice temperature and clean.

Positive experience: Excellent and friendly staff, very helpful. Changing rooms, far better than other sports centres I have visited. Good temperature in the pool, lane swimming for people of all swimming abilities...all round very impressed with this centre

Fantastic experience: Lovely staff (it’s amazing what a difference people remembering your name can make). Excellent staff taking the classes in particular Tom and Tara, their spinning lessons are fantastic, full of energy, varied and great music.

Negative experience: Pool is quite good and free parking. Run-down changing facilities and generally very poorly run in my experience. I'm only a member as there are no other pools in Clevedon.

Positive experience: Went to use temp gym yesterday, it was shut. Got told new gym would be open today,walked down again which takes me half an hour only to be told its shut

Positive experience: Best pool in the area, but very dated and run down changing rooms and showers that could do with a good scrub. Don't forget to keep an OLD pound coin handy for the lockers!

Fantastic experience: Been going here since I was a kid for swimming. Admittedly, the pool area looks a bit tired, but I have a better experience here than at other, newer pools in the area. Staff are always friendly, pool isn't too warm, and generally the other swimmers are there to swim, not get in your way.

Positive experience: My preferred local swimming hole . Has good facilities and fairly tidy changing areas, although these could be cleaned on a more regular basis. On my last visit the toilet was nasty. Cant comment on the other facilities such as the gym. But it looks good.
