Fantastic experience: Great gym! Nice and quiet before 8

Positive experience: Going down hill fast.

Fantastic experience: Was shown around the facilities at The Club Meyrick Park with a plan of joining the gym! And fully intend to warm, welcoming and well established! Will be definitely looking to join once settled into the area!

Negative experience: Overpriced, poor facilities and mistreatment of customers. I joined a few months ago having recently moved close to the club and was incredibly disappointed with the facilities, given the hefty price tag. This is not a premium club, you'd find better facilities at somewhere you'd pay less than a quarter of the price. It's dirty, especially shower and changing room areas, the ceiling in the gym is leaking and the steps and walk ways to and from the pool are frankly dangerous given how wet and slippery they are. It's very shabby, dark and not a nice place to spend time. I decided to cancel my membership for the above reasons but despite the club not providing an acceptable level of service, they forced me to pay my last month's membership even though I said I would not be returning. To top it off, having cancelled and not being given a way to pay, their central membership team emailed me and threatened me with debt collectors. They demanded twice the membership fee (in error) and the way the email was worded was along the lines of pay now or else they'll be people at your door. Upon cancellation of the membership, had I have been given details of how to pay I would have despite being very unhappy with the fact I had to. In none of my email communications were payment details provided nor an explanation of what would happen next. It was then several weeks later that I get the threatening email. If you're failing to provide a service to a high enough standard, own it and fix it and do the right thing and waive the person's notice period. Have some humility and try to resolve the issues instead of effectively sticking your finger up at me on the way out. What you've achieved instead is a previous member who will always avoid your business, and, will tell others, who again live nearby, of the experience received. Had there of been some humility and admission of failings and a commitment to fix things, I wouldn't be here writing this review. As I said to the team member that threatened me, shame on you and your disgusting practices. Attaching a photo of the email so everyone can see how this company operates.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous facilities, luxury gym!

Negative experience: Overpriced dump! The hygiene is terrible and had verrucas from one journey from the Pool to the Changing room and back! The changing room is filthy and the entire place smells of eggy drains. Avoid!

Fantastic experience: Location difficult as i have poor knee and can't drive so have to get cab bus to far from center

Fantastic experience: 11 of us came for spa treatments and use if the facilities in May. The service was first rate and the treatments fantastic. Thank you to everyone who gave us a great afternoon.

Fantastic experience: Arrived yesterday for the accommodation of my hen do! The rooms were clean and spacious. Staff was super friendly and on the ball! Particular mention to Richard in the club house! He was amazing and went out his way to arrange egg mayo sarnies for our incredible afternoon tea! He was so kind and just an all round lovely man! Also David (I think his name was) on the Friday evening looked after us so well in the bar. Pool and spa was so lovely! Clean changing rooms and good facilities with showers, lockers, hair dryers etc. thank you for giving us a brilliantly located space for us to base ourselves at. Only a 10 minute walk into town too! Would 100% to back! My only criticism (of any) was the room we were in only had power sockets in one corner so not able to charge phone by bed and had to dry hair in that area. Only small but doesn’t take away from this lovely gem!

Negative experience: I joined this gym soon after recovering from my Pilonidal disease surgery. Im 20 years old self employed who has had to be signed off work once again as the ongoing health condition has returned after a few months of being at the gym. I temporarily froze my account through the app due to currently awaiting my second surgery. I didn't think to check again as the app said it all was okay i then found an email saying i still owe these months since i froze the account and that theres is a freeze fee of £15 a month even tho im not using any of the facilities at all!! I contacted the team to get some advice and there was no help or support at all. They told me the payment will just keep rising until i pay the past 3 months in 1 go and then it can be frozen and im charged £15 for the rest of this “12 month contract” Never experienced this at any other gym I've been a member of.

Negative experience: Went to the bar after golf bought 3 drinks .paid and sat down with 2 friend's. the barmaid came over to me and said The transaction hadn't gone through and could I come to the bar and pay again I checked on my account and it was in pending. The barmaid went to speak to the manager and insisted that I paid again. With no void receipt.This took time and when i returned to my seat my friends had drunk their drink and we're ready to go I paid again . Checking my bank account a few weeks l realised I had been charged twice. Phoning today I received no apology . My experience having a drink in the bar was ruined. There was no receipts or paperchain .they didn't take my details to check the overpayment. The manager on the day didn't come and help the barmaid sort out the problem she was trying to serve at the same time. It was a shambles. Today after paying my money back into my account there was absolutely no customer service .you would have thought that after taking money out of my account they would been more apologetic.it was almost my fault. If I hadn't checked my account they would have kept my money. Great golf course

Fantastic experience: Thank you so much to the very kind receptionist who called a taxi for me yesterday afternoon. I was so very lost and she was so very helpful. My sense of direction is appalling - there was really no hope. I'm not even a member! And I did catch my train. Thank you again.

Fantastic experience: I started visiting meyrick gc since the 1990,s After a year gap I have never seen the course looking and playing so good,even in the winter.. lots of cutting back,1st and 2nd cuts,well mowed approaches. Sensible roped off areas.true greens. Well done to whoever is responsible

Positive experience: Good golf course, brilliant condition considering the weather we've had. Fairways were dry and greens running true. Only 1 green was showing signs of the weather. Chap in the shop was very friendly and informative. People mentioned the dog walkers and we did see quite a few on the front 9 but at no time were we held up or felt inconvenienced by any of them. They all seemed to be checking for players hitting and keeping to the edges of holes. Didn't see any dog mess as previously reviewed. Well worth the green fee and will definitely return.

Negative experience: I was told expressly I would be able to cancel my membership if I moved to another country (my partner is from Australia and we weren't sure when we would move over). Our plans got unfortunately expedited due to bereavement. Rather than follow what was outlined over the phone. I have been told I would need to show proof of address and still be charged a month extra. Contrary to what I was told initially. Particularly frustrating as we would have just opted for the flex membership if we had known. To make matters worse, they have also sent an email demanding £1,616.00 for the remainder of the membership we have already told them we would be cancelling. My partner who has just lost her mum, read the email and well... I trust that I wont be charged that full amount, and it will likely just be the month extra. Regardless it shows a shocking lack of compassion or thought. The gym and facilities themselves are alright, they are fine for what they are meant to offer. However, the service has just been downright shocking.

Positive experience: Nice staff and relaxing place to do a work out. Facilities are a bit dated but adequate and the glass surround makes it pleasant. Pool area is nice though be careful on the steps going down. Awful smell of perfume/scent being pumped into the sauna and steam room. Barely usable. Not sure why they think that is necessary.

Negative experience: Staff need training as some will let you in to do day pass for £15 and other staff tell you, you need to be attending with a member. Surely money is money and its rude to turn away people if your not a member. I was visiting on buisness trip so don't want a membership as won't be in town for long. Considering £15 is much higher than other gyms and spas in area I would expect them to let people in they want to pay that price. Website isn't clear about needing a membership. Doesn't have many photos of club facilities.

Negative experience: The state of the golf course was shocking. The tee boxes had some long grass, the fairways were in awful condition with lots of rocky/stony areas. The greens, although were true, were marked up badly with dog paw prints and mud. The bunkers had massive stones in them. All of that for £40 what a terrible shame

Positive experience: Played golf here on Sunday. Lovely course and the greens were in great condition. The problem is slow play, we teed off at 9.52 and after 1hr we’d played 3 holes ! We’d played 9 holes in 2hrs 40 mins and walked in. Such a shame as the course good. But it really needs a couple of people out on the course moving players along. So £40 for 9 holes ! but hey, I couldn’t take the pain of waiting on every single shot. Would love to come back, but doubtful, a negative experience.

Negative experience: Not a great experience. Golf course was littered with dog walkers who would walk across the fairway with no consideration to those that have paid to play a round. Dogs just free roaming resulting in dog poo all over the course.

Negative experience: The gym isn’t very well equipped and dated . Having to remember to take a pound coin is annoying and outdated. Rang up to cancel my membership and then once again after to confirm it was cancelled which they said it was. After checking my bank outgoings 5 months later I found they were still charging me for membership. Rung again to make sure it was cancelled which it wasn’t and told me it’s in the terms and conditions to cancel by email which I wasn’t told either time I rung up before. And tried to get a refund for the 5 months they had charged me and would only offer me 2 months. Very poor and won’t be going back ever again.

Fantastic experience: Me and my family of 8 plus my grandson had a fantastic time, was made to feel very welcome, staff so kind and friendly and caring of our needs, they couldn’t do enough for us and my grandson, and made our stay exceptional, food was fantastic best breakfast by far, rooms nice and clean will definitely return.

Positive experience: Only played golf... course in good condition, enjoyable round

Positive experience: I book weekends away often and this has to be one of the worst . We arrived to men by the lodge drinking and felt quite intimidating. Sign directed us to reception wasn’t correct so the rowdy men directed us in the rain across the car park. To be then sent back through the rain to our room. We went out to eat and returned to quiet. The room was clean and warm but I wasn’t looking forward to getting up walking across the car park for breakfast but I did. Like I said basic and the waiter has a lot of options that he talks to himself. About but seemed sweet . Basic breakfast awful dinner clean but really is there as a gym for locals and golfers weekends . Wouldn’t recommend as a weekend away for romance

Positive experience: Friendly staff!

Fantastic experience: What a gem in the gem itself , Bournemouth. For accomodation I highly recommend staying in the cabins just off of the first tee , which while I’m on the subject is THE hardest starting hole in the par three first . Settle for a four and get out of there . Beautiful scenery and wild life can be had in this spectacular golf course . If given the chance , do it

Positive experience: Its a wonderful golf course which I absolutey adore. But to be perfectly honest I have never seen so many dog walkers. They seem to have no respect for golfers and just walk where ever they like. Such as shame they dont walk on the path ways on the outside of the course. Some very selfish rude people around,

Negative experience: £30 to play a round of golf of golf with dog walkers and dog poo on the courses I think is massively overpriced and the condition of the course is below average for £30. Won’t be back at those prices, plus £8:30 for a coffee and bacon sandwich. Much better and cheaper courses to play in the area.

Positive experience: Room spotlessly clean but furniture in need of some tlc & bed uncomfortable. Leisure facilities very good. Reception staff professional & welcoming. :-) Bar/cafe staff poor & unfortunately unable to maintain area they work, rude & unwelcoming.

Fantastic experience: First time staying here , lovely clean well equipped room in the lodge , well located to City centre 10-15 min walk. All staff really helpful and friendly , lovely chap served us breakfast .Golf course superb , lovely well kept greens . We will return

Fantastic experience: Excellent for coffee and sandwich today. Use the premises to swim in the lovely clean pool and the beauty salon. Lots of classes to take part in and the new year resolution is to do so!

Negative experience: Tiny gym, lack of facilities, repetitive classes without progression. Unlit carpark. Happy to tell you to stay away from the green but will not follow up on racial abuse on the premises. Why is there even a golf course here? What a waste of space so 4 people can plod around hitting a ball into the trees.

Fantastic experience: Nice to play Golf and stay Inn. There is Yoga activity!!

Positive experience: Stayed here twice now. Second occasion we stayed the superior room (no.5) not too much difference in size from the standard we had the first time. Better view! Could use a bit of a spring clean on skirts and behind curtains and in the corners but nice enough. Pool and spa facilities are a lovely extra. Great location to city centre and remains quiet enough to sleep at night. Staff are so lovely and friendly especially the front of house reception. Thank you for a lovely warm welcome both times!

Fantastic experience: Nice gym with friendly staff. Very hygienic. Has a wide range of cardio machines and great classes. Well worth the membership fee. Only minor downsides: -The music in the gym is loud at all times of the day & the playlist is repetitive RnB hits. Sometimes spoils the atmosphere. - The pool is crowded at peak times often with people occupying lanes while not swimming.

Fantastic experience: Great location. Great hotel. Great breakfast. Great staff. Would definitely recommend for anyone who’s looking for a place to stay in Bournemouth.

Fantastic experience: Stayed in the hotel for two nights, which was great in itself - but being able to use the wonderful spa facilities and swimming pool also a big plus. Staff very helpful with towels, coins for the lockers etc. Very well maintained and relaxing. Also would recommend eating in the superb restaurant - which has a lovely outside terrace, perfect for chilling out in.

Positive experience: Beer very expensive and very poor. London pride undrinkable. Golf course is good and greens are very good. Tees need some work on them.

Fantastic experience: It was a good experience except the new hairdryers are not good. Also the person checking the pool water quality did not wear overshoes and there were dirty shoe footprints around the pool

Fantastic experience: Great location for Bournemouth, but we where not told the swimming pool would not be usable before hand, the room itself was lovely and clean but felt there could be plugsockets only two in the room Breakfast was cooked fresh everyday, Staff polite.

Positive experience: Didn't play, just watch the boys tee off on that monster of a par 3, the first. 238 yds off the back tees! 9 then an 8 iron for me I suspect.

Positive experience: Very comfortable bed, room clean if a little basic. Good shower flow, but only useful if you're under 5', water very hot. And shower screen was inadequate so the bathroom floor got soaked. Lovely setting, friendly staff and reasonably priced food in bar.

Negative experience: Don’t bother playing if you are new to golf! We let a 4 ball through then had a guy who worked there plod up on his golf buggy and tell us to rudely hurry up as they have had 3 phone calls to complain about us, we had no one behind us that were close!! He then watched as we were taking our shots what put us off more. Very rude. We all paid £39 each with the buggy and after coming up to us to tell us it put us off and we no longer wanted to continue to play this course. So avoid this course unless you are an avid quick golfer that wants bad customer service!! I would’ve happily gained a refund and left the course if we could’ve!!

Positive experience: We stayed at the Lodge which was ok. The bathroom was small. As the weather was cold the addition of extra blankets and pillows would have been nice. Asked for extra pillows and waited for nearly 2hrs. The staff were nice and pleasant but I think there wasn't enough staff to do everything well. An evening snack of rarebit on sour dough was cold. The first bite was lovely and crunchy. After saying it was cold it was returned to the kitchen and came back piping hot...Unfortunately the lovely sour dough toast was now soft and rubbery (I didn't here the ping, but obviously been in a microwave) Breakfast was lovely and our waiter was very polite and helpful. It was a shame we had to try to talk over the TV which was showing lots of football goals scored.. Annoying and very boring . Having the use of the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room was an added bonus and nice and clean and quite quiet too. They wouldn't have to improve much to get a higher score..

Fantastic experience: We enjoyed our visit to the pool, the steam room and the jacuzzi. The staff in the bar/restaurant were accommodating and helpful. Enjoyed the food we had. Good breakfast selection.

Positive experience: Lovely spot in secluded grounds of a splendid golf course. Amenities include pool, steam room, sauna and gym. I managed to avoid all of them, but very much enjoyed a hearty vegetarian breakfast in the restaurant. Staff friendly.

Negative experience: £32 for the pleasure in playing a public golf course. Shame as the course is very challenging and the greens are well kept. However the amount of dog walkers and random men lurking around bushes is very off putting. The lady at the club house was friendly and made a good cappuccino, however they seemed to have run out of coffee cup lids today.

Fantastic experience: What a fab place.the staff are amazing they cannot do enough for you,food is excellent,the setting is stunning ,rooms are very clean and have everything you need ,we had the use of the indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi with towels provided,?keep up the good work ,we shall definitely be back

Negative experience: Real shame because the course design is good and there's some really good holes but it's let down by the public access, dog walkers everywhere so watch out because a few times it was dangerous

Fantastic experience: My wife and I are not Golfers but the greens look beautifully kept. Neither did we use the gym but we did enjoy a superb swim in a warm pool, ate in their Bar/Resaurant and enjoyed the whole experience. We stayed in the Lodge for one night prior to my Nephew's wedding.

Fantastic experience: Stayed one night rooms 11 and 12. Very happy with size of rooms and facilities. Made use of swimming pool and thought it was fabulous. Great breakfast... we each had different options and all were excellent. Found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Inconsiderate guest was noisy outside our rooms at 1.30am but other than that it was peaceful and relaxing.

Positive experience: We stayed in the lodge at Meyrick park, which has about a dozen rooms. The rooms are a good size with ensuite facilities. All very clean and a good size bed. The breakfast was very good, well cooked and plenty of it. It is infact a golf course and leisure centre with a great pool, steam room and sauna. A very convenient place to stay for a trip to Bournemouth.

Negative experience: Hi I wanted to put a comment on the website. I used to be a member of the gym years ago and have been sent emails after emails to re join the club. I called the office today and membership on answerphone 3 times throughout the day. I called the reception and was told no one in today to help and call back tomorrow to chat. Poor service when wanting high prices for membership and you can not even speak to anyone to help you. Not impressed with the club especially after wanting to re join.

Fantastic experience: Best golf course in Bournemouth, definitely worth a visit.

Positive experience: Quite a change from the normal golfing experience! The course is on land that is open to the public so it's quite strange to see non golfers wandering round the course taking their dog for a walk, cycling or walking. The fairways are quite poor, being mostly bare so you get some strange bounces and poor lies even if you hit a decent shot. It is however an interesting course with some quite quirky holes so is worth a visit if you fancy something away from an open parkland style course.
