Fantastic experience: Gym is clean and tidy, staff is very approachable and really friendly - I am so sad to hear that the sports direct is closing :((((

Negative experience: Still 1990 no improvement

Fantastic experience: It was difficult for me at first to go alone. But I was alone once or twice and now I go with love, I even have a routine. and the staff is very kind and willing to help you with the required information.

Fantastic experience: Decent folk all round, can't fault them.

Positive experience: Staff are really nice and friendly. But seems like there are too many members for the amount of equipment available at the gym.

Fantastic experience: The gym is well equipped (there is a swimming pool and massage services). And the staff do their best to maintain and clean the equipment especially during the pandemic. The cleaning regime during the pandemic helped instil confidence and probably lowered infection rate. And members are encouraged to wipe and clean equipments after use. I have had to report a faulty equipment once and that was speedily dealt with. Parking is a challenge during peak period (see video for parking lot) but there is paid parking at the Maltings.

Positive experience: I've been a member of Sports Direct Fitness Club in Salisbury for a number of years and the staff are helpful and friendly. The gym and swimming pool is great. The changing rooms are quite spacious and very rarely crowded unless you go just before or after a class. The sauna and steam room are good. The only gripe I have is the music which is played unnecessarily loud in the swimming pool. I really don't want to hear rap music while I'm trying to have a peaceful swim.

Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms in Salisbury, I've been to a few in the last few years and found them to be very toxic environments with rude staff that only want to help the hot/fit members and members with rude attitudes laughing at people trying to lose weight but with sports direct fitness I've had nothing but extremely helpful staff and members that are equally as helpful and friendly.

Positive experience: My first time in a gym in over 12 years. Felt welcomed but not offered a tour of the gym and its facilities. Not advised on emergency procedures or where anything was Inc the toilets. Wandered around myself and just used the pool, sauna and steam room.

Fantastic experience: I can honestly say this is the nicest gym i have ever belonged to after having been in gyms globally. The staff are beyond fantastic. So sad to be leaving due to a relocation. They made my day every time.

Fantastic experience: Member for a year from 2018-2019, now an employee, great atmosphere and although the equipment was old during my member time, it’s been updated recently and really makes the difference for the gym. Great pool too, warm and usually not busy, highly recommend going for a swim even if it’s not your usual thing. Would highly recommend from my experience as member and it’s been improved massively since leaving and coming back, reminded me how nice the place is and even switched back to working out here again.

Positive experience: Decent swimming pool, my partner and I have been teaching our daughter how to swim here for nearly 18 months now and the pool here has been great nearly every time we've been. There have been one or two times when we've got there and the pool has been too cold or too crowded (definitely too crowded during summer holidays) but mostly it's been good. Can't say much about the gym as I haven't used it much.

Positive experience: Nice & cheap. Decent facilities, and staff are friendly. PTs are good and would recommend. Nice to have a pool and steam and sauna but if there's more than 3 people swimming its almost unusable. Contract is pretty terrible and ties you in for ages with 3 month cancellation period. Equipment could do with upgrading as it's often broken or shabby. I've noticed stuff that is still in there from LA Fitness.

Positive experience: Good gym in the centre of Salisbury. Equipment is a little bit old and some of them would need to be replaced. In the evening can get very busy making difficult the access to machines and free weights.

Positive experience: You get what you pay for here and it is cheap. But the equipment doesn't get maintained (sometimes you see a notice on a machine saying Out of Order we aim to get it fixed as soon as possible and it's still there 6 months later) They have 4 TVs to watch while you're on the bike or jogger but they're usually broken and there's no sound connection anyway. Mention it to the manager and nothing gets done. Some machines are quite tatty but £19.99 a month for a workout, swim or sauna is cheaper than anywhere else. Stop Press - just seen that there's a new gym opening on the Southampton Road - £10.99 a month. Got to worth a try.

Positive experience: Need to sort out their TVs as theyve been broken for a while. Staff are friendly. Could do with some more floor space that isn't taken up free weights and benches.

Positive experience: Good facilitate however the equipment isn't maintained a lot of the time and when it is it takes ages..the rowers are the worst get over that and you can get a good work out, swim, sauna, class exercise etc

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. It fulfill all my workout needs - it has various equipments and machines and I always can find myself a space for workout, even in the busy times. The pool is just enough for swimming session, temperature is great and I like the fact that the sauna and steaming room are right next to it. Sometimes I miss Jakuzzi though :) Staff is very friendly and helpful, and all the PTs are lovely and willing to give you advice anytime they are around. Very satisfied!

Positive experience: I was having a really bad week when I first joined this gym, friends kept suggesting that I needed a pick me up, so after signing up I headed straight for the dead lifts. Gavin the personal trainer kept buzzing around my telling my that my calves were like iron, which was encouraging don't get me wrong, just a little confusing as well because I'm actually wheelchair bound. There is a strange guy who always hangs around the front of the building, calls himself Adam Sandles and never fails to ask if he can "oil my wheels". I'm not sure if he's just another care bear chair boy or an oil salesman. Someone should really do something about him thought he gives me the heeby jeebies.

Negative experience: Gym is alright I guess it's a bit small and gets busy and some of the equipment is always broken, needs newer equipment to be honest, the pool is alright if ya just want to have a relaxing swim not very big pool, steam room is alright and that.

Negative experience: Equipment is good, often broken machines that can take months to get fixed and nobody seems to know when they will be sorted. Poorly managed, no rules or etiquette enforced. Staff often don't get paid on time, I finally gave up and cancelled my membership. For the cheap price though I guess you can't expect much

Positive experience: Is okay. Was in town & needed to workout, so paid the day fee. Free weights is ancient, yet usable for a full workout. But couldn't use this gym on a regular basis, not worth joining.

Negative experience: First off if I could I would give Sports Direct Fitness 0 stars, their lack of training and empathy when it comes to cancellations of memberships is disgusting. I then spoke to Head Office cancellation team. A lady called Sarah Hilton extremely rude, a liar and not helpful in the slightest. She wouldn't listen to the issue at hand just sounded like she was reading from a script. Apparently there wasn't another member of staff I could speak to she said she was the only one in the office yet when I called back someone else in the same office answered as I checked. She also said there was no management in the office. Which was also a lie. The gym is really good when you want to be a member but as soon as you cancel your membership that's it they become liars and unhelpful in any manner.

Fantastic experience: A great gym with plenty of equipment, it is also the cheapest gym in the Salisbury area

Positive experience: The gym is great with amazingly clean facilities. Their pool is on the smaller side so when it's busy there isn't a lot of room but apart from that it is usually just the right size. The gym also has a steam room and sauna which are great for relaxing in after a workout. The gym itself is very well maintained with a variety of options of equipment. There are is also the option for personal trainers and classes which are all well organised. The price is extremely reasonable and I cannot fault the staff.

Negative experience: Do not get a child swimming membership! Struggle to find space for them to swim and the timetable for them to swim is not ideal for a working adult. When I approached the desk about my issue and mentioned that I wanted to cancel, they weren’t even remotely bothered about what the issue could be and try to resolve it. Just showed me to the touchscreen and told me to fill out the forms to cancel. The Upstairs gym is okay but gets absolutely packed at certain times of the day. If you’re unemployed, have great working hours or train at 0630, then it isn’t too bad. Shame the staff all seem uncaring and seem to hate their jobs. Hopefully things will change. It is sports direct so don’t expect too much

Positive experience: As someone who hadn't really exercised for ten years, I have had a very positive experience with this gym. It is clean and tidy, with ample space and equipment for you to work out at your own pace. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. The additional £5 on my monthly bill has been well worth it, as I attend a regular class once a week. I would recommend anyone to come and give it a look, regardless of your physical ability.

Fantastic experience: Needs some TLC but otherwise good I use the pool and Steam rooms. The steam room is not always available

Negative experience: Small, limited facilities, short opening hours. Machines regularly have "out of order" signs for weeks. Staff pretty clueless, mate cut himself on a machine and they didn't seem bothered in any way.

Negative experience: Swimming pool is the size of a stamp and so is the car park. Poor facilities and useless staff. Avoid.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Sports Direct Fitness Gym in Salisbury for over 8 years now, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. This gym offers a fantastic range of facilities and services that have helped me stay motivated on my fitness journey. First and foremost, the staff here are incredibly friendly and supportive. They make you feel welcome and are always ready to assist with any questions or concerns. The personal trainers are knowledgeable and have been instrumental in helping me set and achieve my fitness goals. The gym itself is well-equipped with a wide variety of cardio and strength training machines. The pool , steamroom & sauna area are also great additions for relaxation and recovery after a workout. What I appreciate most is the flexibility in my membership. They offer various classes and have a convenient schedule, making it easy to find a workout that fits my busy life. The pricing is reasonable for the services and facilities provided, and there are no hidden fees or surprises.

Negative experience: I just want to draw you attention and to express my outrage from the general manager of the Sport Direct Fitness Salisbury. I think the name of the manager is Kristy, but I am not pretty sure, sorry if I wrong. For what I talking about : in the middle of the March this year, it was Sunday –13th March, I was going to the Sport Direct Fitness Salisbury with my children. We used the fitness and swimming pool. I parked my car at the parking space in front of the fitness, the parking is free for the fitness customers and visitors. The parking machine wasn’t working, so I registered in a book at the reception, as the receptionist advised me. After a month may be, for my big surprise I received a letter that I have got a penalty -£100, cause I was parked illegally at the Sport Direct Fitness Salisbury on Sunday -13th March. From then to now, middle of November, I am going three or four times to the fitness to speak with them about this penalty, cause the company imposed it still want from me to pay, cause I m not and I am late, but once again –I shouldn’t have to pay, cause the parking is free for customers and the penalty will be increased. Every time when I go to the fitness to speak with them they assured me that they will speak with the company to cancel my penalty, but nothing happens. I go to speak with them again and they told me that they will call until one week to tell me what happened, but nobody called me. So I go again and asked receptionist what happens with my case, cause I still have to pay. The answer of the manager was that they were speak with the company and I just have to pay £15 instead £100 and everything will be OK. So they want from me to pay for something which is not my fault. The manager for who I am speaking was very rudely and dismissive me. She don’t speak with me face to face, she was in the next office and she told to the receptionist what to tell me. The manager comes to speak with me directly when I expressly asked to do it, extremely nervous about this situation. So she told me that I have to pay £15, cause this was my fault. I m really unhappy and angry about this situation and from how the manager treat me. Really rude, unkind and disrespectful attitude to the customer. That is unacceptable and unnormal!
