Our comment from FitFit UK about Park Club Milton:
Welcome to Park Club Milton, a vibrant and friendly fitness center located in Abingdon, United Kingdom. Our gym is known for its welcoming atmosphere and dedicated staff who strive to create a positive experience for all members.
Many users have praised our fantastic facilities, which include a well-equipped gym, a swimming pool, sauna, and steam room. The variety of exercise classes available caters to all fitness levels, and our Park Performance classes have particularly received rave reviews for their motivating coaches and community spirit.
Additionally, we host enjoyable activities like Wellbeing Walks and Dynamo Bands sessions that foster friendships and connections in a relaxed setting.
While we take pride in our offerings, we acknowledge some challenges noted by our members, such as complaints about membership management, and customer service issues, particularly around membership freezes and billing. Additionally, some facilities could benefit from modern updates. However, our commitment to maintaining a clean environment and ensuring member satisfaction remains a top priority.
We are continuously striving to improve and welcome feedback from all members. Park Club Milton is genuinely a great place for fitness enthusiasts, families, and anyone looking to enhance their wellbeing!

Park Club Milton: Opinions
Negative experience: Didn't even get offered an induction when signing up neither was I told whether I needed a fob or anything in particular to enter. Didn't use their facilities even once due to health reasons and they still wanted to grab more money from me even after paying my 3 monthly payments.
Fantastic experience: Park Club Wellbeing groups on a Tuesday have opened up meeting new people and making new friends. The light physical activity sessions with Su have been great unpressured, motivating and fun. The coffee and wellbeing chatter afterwards is a bonus and a great way to connect and share with everyone in a welcoming environment.
Fantastic experience: Joined recently and I really love this gym! The staff are always welcoming and helpful. Great variety of classes too!
Negative experience: OK facilities, but overpriced. Would rate it higher if not for the horrendous customer policy when it comes to freezing memberships. They require a medical letter from you GP to freeze which is ridiculous.
Fantastic experience: Great gym and very helpful staff
Negative experience: Poorly equipped to deal with babies. I visited with my son to swim, nothing wrong with the pool (bit cold for babies but it is an adult pool). The facilities however are very poor for any parents with babies. No where near enough baby friendly changing facilities, if you are the only baby in the pool you'll probably be OK. If you go as a group or baby class then you'll have big trouble.
Positive experience: I have been a member for a number of years and have always found members of staff friendly and approachable. Classes with Su are always vibrant and a good workout.Swimming pool can be busy at times but otherwise I also enjoy swimming here.
Fantastic experience: I regularly attend Tuesday 10.15 -11.30 - Dyno Bands with supported gym session, with coffee and chatter afterwards. The session is FREE and for anyone wanting to get moving again in a light hearted environment without feeling pressured. I would encourage anyone to give it a go, it’s great for mental wellbeing and engaging with like minded people. I would recommend coming along and giving it a try. Su is always supportive and makes the session fun.
Fantastic experience: Recent FREE Wellbeing Walks have been a great way to engage and get out in the fresh air enjoy a walk in a non pressured environment and enjoy a coffee and wellbeing chatter afterwards. Su is absolutely fantastic, she is calm and welcoming and I enjoy every session. All staff are excellent and the facilities are fabulous. I look forward to every visit and enjoy my Tuesday sessions. It’s worth the drive here and I love the community spirit and support. So pleased I found a club as friendly as this and the facilities are fantastic all latest kit and always evolving.
Fantastic experience: Very good especially Su goes the extra mile always
Negative experience: Horrible experience with Park Club Milton. I had a horrible ordeal with Park Club Milton Gym, that I thought I would document on here so people can make a better decision whether they'd like to give these 'not so nice' managers their money every month. I was a member for years as it was a convenient location and I was putting up with the fact that the gym was always dirty if not disgusting. I was paying full price membership fees and often couldn't understand why things were broken in changing rooms, why hair dryers and strainers were missing and why staff prefer to sit on reception on their backsides instead of cleaning long hair left in the shower cubicles for days. One day my friend suggested popping in to swim together and that unpleasant place called Park Club still had 'Family swim' sessions running. I had my secondary school aged child with me and he hasn't been swimming with me for months,so I thought since my friend was keen to visit the pool after spending a few hours with us beforehand,we would all go together. My child had a space booked for him for 'Family swim' on the app and I was going to watch him without doing any swimming myself as he's been to lots of lessons before and he is a confident swimmer. The staff (duty manager Paige) stopped me and my son from going for our swimming session even though a swimming space booked through the Park Club app was ours! I tried to explain to Paige that I will be supervising my child and that my friend's partner was allowed to go and swim with his son not long ago, even though that parent didn't have a swimming space booked. Paige was stubborn and refused to listen and understand. My friend asked Paige to allow me in (to at least watch my child swim,as these terms and conditions are on the Park Club website - 'a child is to be supervised by an adult'). Paige said 'No' to my friend! I thought a gym was meant to be a leisure place when friends can come and visit together? But that's not how Paige sees it,clearly she is a malicious overweight lady, ungrateful for my membership fees that I paid her wages with for years, she made my son leave reception in tears! She called Thames Valley Police, can you believe it? Crazy. My friend said that Paige went overboard calling police and my partner said that Park Club wasted police time and he said to me to mock Park Club that an army needed to be brought in so that a long term member was stopped from coming into the gym! Duty manager Chris didn't want to listen to me when I tried to speak to him about all this - he didn't even bother returning me the money for half of the month after I cancelled my Direct Debit. To me it seems like highway robbery. I emailed Chris hoping he had common sense but I was wrong,Park Club with it's current management is rotten, unpleasant place and I don't want anything to do with them. They lied to Park club members in their generic email :'Family swim has been cancelled because of an incident with the Police'.They absolutely have no shame! I can't believe that they get away with this, and I'm wondering how on Earth can this be legal? What a frustrating and stressful situation was brought down on me by racists Paige and Chris! Fast forward a month, today I'm a member of a much nicer, cleaner, friendlier gym and recommend the same to others - stay away from Park Club, don't give your money to those who don't value your custom!
Fantastic experience: How can you not like this gym and the staff if I am ever in Oxfordshire I will be back here it's a lovely place
Positive experience: Very convenient, good prices for a lovely open spaced workout and ending my sessions in a Sauna and Steam room. Lovely
Fantastic experience: Su is amazing . Great classes. Facilities are great. I enjoy the sauna and steam a great addition to a great club I enjoy every visit and all staff are friendly and welcoming. Great value for money.
Fantastic experience: Great club gyms pool sauna
Fantastic experience: Sue does a awesome job at our groups and love swimming and the sauna and gym room would 100% recommend x
Fantastic experience: I joined the park performance in January and have loved it! The coaches are so friendly, really helpful and make some great workouts. I wasn’t consistent with the gym and since joining I’ve been to 3-5 classes a week and see a difference. Love the Saturday WOD too! In general the park club has great facilities and I’d 100% recommend joining especially for the hyrox/crossfit sessions ☺️
Fantastic experience: I’m a member of Park Performance at Park Club and absolutely love my sessions! I’ve never been very consistent in the gym until I started doing these classes because every class is fantastic. The programming is always challenging but fun and never gets boring! The coaching is also incredible, the coaches push you to work hard and get amazing results! I’m not somebody who pushes myself easily in the gym but I have already achieved so much doing these classes. I can’t wait to continue with these classes and see the progress in my fitness!
Fantastic experience: Park Club has amazing facilities and kind staff. The new Park Club Performance (pcp) has been the best addition so far. The classes are fab, the community is supportive and the trainers go above and beyond. - PCP Member
Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym. Been a member since Christmas and have been very impressed.
Fantastic experience: Great space with loads of different activities. Staff are wonderful and always there to help.
Fantastic experience: I’m a member here. All the staff are friendly. Both gyms are great and the pool is lovely. Good classes too.
Negative experience: If you have been a member of this gym and cancelled please check your bank statements for billings by "SOLL VALE" This is park club operating as a charity and continuing to take your membership fees. They have done this to me and now owe me 7 months at £53 a month totalling £371. Please warn anyone who has been there or thinking of using that establishment. UPDATE I have now had my £371 refunded after threatening them with legal action. Please keep an eye on your bank accounts as judging by these other reviews there seems to be a pattern with theft from former members and if you try to warn others chris eyton sends you an email threatening action for libel. His threats have been ignored and I shall continue to warn others about this shambles of a gym.
Negative experience: Cancelled my membership roughly 8 months and they still try to charge my account monthly. Used the support feature multiple times and got no where. Would never sign up again. Avoid unless you fancy a massive headache.
Fantastic experience: Simply, Best gym in the area by far.
Fantastic experience: Very impressive gym. I needed assistance whilst doing an induction and I found Aiden to be very helpful, professional and gave some really good tips for my training. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant facilities and the staff are friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. An excellent place for beginners or season pros.
Fantastic experience: Helpful staff, great facilities. Changing rooms are very clean. Good lockers, lots of space in gym and changing rooms. Only 10 people per exercise class so not crowded. All teachers and trainers are approachable and friendly. Usually lots of parking but can get busy when there are popular classes back to back. Free straighteners and hairdryers available. Opens early so easy to fit in a gym session before work.
Positive experience: Just started using The Park Club, all the staff have been really good and helpful. There is lots of equipment, looked in very good condition and was very clean.
Negative experience: The manager of this club should be sacked he is liar and a bully. Also place is filthy and the mixed changing rooms are not safe i personally witnessed acts of depravity i was shocked and appalled. Stay away place is not safe for anyone who maybe vulnerable. And you would think it would be safe as its full police officers who use the facilities daily. Unfortunately its anything but so.
Negative experience: Been part of The Park Club for over 6 years. I have watched a high turn over of staff, watched good, knowledgeable staff be ousted out of the business. Over 50 members wrote to The Park Club and their letter was not responded too or even listened. The members asked for a meeting with the manager Chris, but they did not get a meeting to talk about any concerns/improvements, in fact they were ignored totally. The senior management team, discussed with other members in the gym what was happening. The members when cancelled their membership also got threatening letters saying they were going to go to a debt collector. A few members went into the manager to see him, but he would not meet with them, in fact he let his staff who are on a lower pay deal with this on his behalf. They have blocked many members from their social media sites, concerned that they will write something bad about them. A community was not listened too, it was dismissed. In fact The Park Club failed a small business, including coaches that were not paid by them. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from a charity organisation with no compassion, empathy to close down a community of over 100 members
Fantastic experience: Excellent gym, lovely staff, hygienic and clean. Couldn't ask for more!
Negative experience: This gym has changed significantly in the last few years. I was a member of the gym, then became a member of The Athlete Centre which was fantastic as well as carrying on with a member of the park club. In the park club there was never ever anyone around to help you, so if I was to go into the weights room I was expected to know what I was doing. The management is really poor there were a number of times where I had to query my membership, I never got any answer and i had to ask a few times to speak to the manager. The manager never ever answered my emails but sent out someone else to speak to me. Other areas in the gym like the Athlete Centre, The Physio were good. But if I am honest if you don't care about being looked after go here if you are looking for a community gym this is not the place for you.
Negative experience: Hugely disappointed in this gym. I have been a member on and off for 10 years and I am disgusted at how this gym has changed under current management since COVID. Over 50 members have recently complained and been ignored. Park Club removed a much loved service with zero consultation with members over changes made to the club (despite an email promising a member forum). There is huge staff turn over and the manager is the worst I have ever come across in any establishment let alone a gym. He is rude, ignores emails and calls and is an absolute coward that hides behind poor young staff on reception- apparently he thinks it’s ok for (the very lovely) receptionist staff to deal with issues he has created. Would not recommend this place unless you want poor service and zero communication from anyone in the back office or management. Also, if you are providing baby classes for swimming more than 2 baby change units is surely needed??? Expecting people to change a new born baby on a dirty floor (cleanliness in the pool is awful as standard) is disgusting. Overall this is an awful place and an absolute disgraceful addition to MEPC.
Negative experience: Really disappointed with this gym, there are never any staff around to help you out. The staff who were around some were not fully trained. I also had a problem with my membership and they kept taking my money out month after month. I sent emails but they did not reply I had to go in, in the end to sort it out,
Positive experience: Pretty expensive for what it is tbh. During peak there are never really enough squat racks and benches as classes are usually going on. If classes were scheduled early in the morning before work or in the later evening other members could actually use the facilities. Some PTs and CrossFitters don’t have any social awareness and can take up a lot of room limiting the space and music is unbearably loud and obnoxious. Could definitely benefit from also having women’s changing rooms for those who don’t feel comfortable changing around others. Lack of air-con/fans which in summer is horrible because you feel like you’re gonna pass out. Equipment seems pretty up-to-date but improvements definitely need to be looked into especially for close to £50 per month.
Fantastic experience: Great gym. Friendly vibe. Good offering of facilities. Always room to workout, stress free
Positive experience: The gym is very good and everyone is very nice. Although expensive and the main weights room doesn’t have any air conditioning which is extremely unpleasant
Fantastic experience: This gym is one if not the best I have ever attended ! The facilities are excellent and the atmosphere relaxed . The staff are exceptional. I would highly recommend Park Club Milton.
Fantastic experience: My husband and I both love this gym, we have been members for roughly 6 years now. It has improved massively over the years We always enjoy our coffee after a swim session!
Fantastic experience: Very good facility overall. There are two shower areas, one dedicated to the pool. The pool is not huge, only 20 meters long, but never too crowded. Weight lifting area has new equipment and is spacious, privileged by a high ceiling. Price is higher than average but worth if you appreciate high end equipment and make use of the locker rooms.
Negative experience: Paid off my membership early in order to cancel my contract (pool was always rammed with school kids, which wasn’t the case when initially joined). 2 months later and they’re still taking my money. Calling them is completely pointless, they tell you to email them (and they take 7 days to respond…) never had so many issues with a gym before. Avoid.
Negative experience: No air conditioning! Who makes a gym with no aircon!
Positive experience: I use the pool mainly. Staff are nice and there are not too many people using the pool, but Park Club Milton do tend to give more and more of it over to swimming lessons, leaving less space for people just paying their fees. Some days there's only one lane available in the pool most of the day, so if you are not a school child or able to afford private lessons, there's not a lot of space. Still, it's cleaner than the other pool in Didcot.
Negative experience: They have stopped using the air con in summer. I keep asking but they never leave it on. It's a warehouse so it gets very hot very quickly. If they are struggling for cash at least they could buy some fans to circulate the air. I am leaving as soon as my contract is up to find somewhere that can afford to pay for air con.
Hi, Thank you for the review. In regards to the aircon, when the temperature outside increases, we do put the aircon in the main gym on and will keep it on when Summer/hotter temperatures arrive. If it isn't on, you can just ask a member of the team and we can pop it on for your session! We do also have extractor fans in the roof to help increase airflow further. If you have any questions or other feedback, please feel free to send an email to [email protected] and we'd be happy to help! Thank you - The Park Club Team
Positive experience: Decent, but plenty of improvements could be made + Nice gym + Separate big weights room + Decent pool, sauna, steam room with a good opening schedule + Decent classes + Easy parking - They NEVER answer the phone and email replies are 3 days - The app is from the 1980's and booking is not great - Spin studio needs an update - There seems to be only one decrepit water fountain - and there's no drinking water anywhere near the sauna
Hi David, Thank you for your review! We are very pleased to hear that you are happy with the gyms, pool and other areas too. Thank you for the feedback on other areas, we will pass this on to the team and look into areas we can improve on! Thank you - The Park Club Team
Fantastic experience: Since joining park club nearly 2 years ago I can strongly say this gym is up there with the best! The price is so reasonable and the staff are forever friendly and helpful it’s clean and fresh the facilities are 10/10
Hi Charlie, thank you for the great review! We are very happy to hear that you are enjoying the gym. Please don't hesitate to contact us or speak to a member of staff if you ever have any feedback! Thank you - The Park Club Team
Fantastic experience: Genuinely no complains. Price is reasonable (Offer student and NHS discounts), plenty of kit and floor space as well as some really decent classes. The sauna and steam room are kinda small but I'm so happy they have them. Also I a staff member if they could put a timer in the steam room l *bang* 2 weeks later timer in the steam room, what more could you ask for
Hi Chris, Thank you for your review! We are very pleased to hear that you are happy with the facilities. We also appreciate member feedback so please let us know if you ever need anything else we can do ~ The Park Club Team
Fantastic experience: Not cheap but the best equipped gym in the area
Fantastic experience: Love it ❤
Fantastic experience: Didcot branch, clean and tidy. Friendly and helpful staff.
Negative experience: Nice stuff but during the pandemic they charged me twice without notice. The didn't refund me the money even giving them longer than a month notice.
Negative experience: I've recently cancelled my membership after nearly three years. The gym itself and the facilities are good, but the high turnover of staff during this period has been alarming. Not all of them are friendly, and can be quite rude! Mandy, the Managing Director, has a very unfriendly email manner, which rings alarm bells.
Positive experience: Great gym and pool but cold in winter
Fantastic experience: Clean and airy gym. Friendly staff
Positive experience: Too busy. I struggle to get time on any machines or weight benches.
Fantastic experience: We come along to weekly childrens swimming lessons which are brilliant. The instructors are great with the children, engage and encourage them to get good results. The facilities are good and kept nice and clean.
Fantastic experience: The gym is always clean, my wife uses the swimming pool and attends the body balance classes, I attend the spinning classes and use the equipment in the main gym area, been a member for years and I intend being a member of the gym for many more years , staff are very friendly
Positive experience: It's got everything you need
Positive experience: Coffee.
Fantastic experience: Very good gym
Positive experience: Can get a tad busy
Fantastic experience: A friendly club with excellent facilities, helpful staff and great exercise classes.
Fantastic experience: Superb staff. :)
Negative experience: Staff are not all knowledgeable regarding concessionary use of facilities, and misinform on a telecon, leading to a nugatory visit to the club, and consequential loss of another potential customer.
Positive experience: It's ok. Number of basic machines not there, hands are very dirty after a session showing their cleaning is poor away from a mop on the floor. New equipment actually reused and rusted.
Positive experience: The fact they use a finance company to keep you in a year long contract leaves quiet a sour taste. So many other flexible month to month gyms available with newer equipment around
Fantastic experience: I am compelled to share my H. Harrison Personal Trainer experience with all, he is PROFESSIONAL , MOTIVATING, SUPPORTIVE & ACCOMMODATING I am a 60 year old male wishing to get fit and "H" is the catalyst i needed to lose weight , increase my strength and tone my body . I have been training with "H" for 2 months who is continuously changing exercises & recording my results which is the drive i needed , encouraging me to eat healthy and train hard correctly . Highly recommend H if you need that push in the right direction when the going gets tough Thank you Paul
Fantastic experience: Friendly stuff and a goo atmosphere
Positive experience: Good gym
Positive experience: Staff are great, classes are excellent.
Fantastic experience: I go swimming here and it’s great
Positive experience: A great size gym with all the right facilities but it's let down hugely by it's inability to repair broken items. The gents toilet door was broken for over two months leaving just a single disabled loo. The only water fountain in the main gym was broken for three weeks before being fixed. If things such as the above were acted on with more urgency it would be a five star gym in my opinion.
Positive experience: Good place, need a bit of update and new machines, friendly staff
Positive experience: Great club, lots of parking, affiliate events (eg runs or triathlons), swimming classes for children and adults. The swim school is really great.
Positive experience: Brilliant place for the kids to learn swimming
Positive experience: Showers from the pool have very poor pressure so if you have long hair it's a pain to wash. Asides from the pool showers it's great, and very convenient for Milton park
Fantastic experience: The best gym in area by far. Awesome crossfit area. Just one tiny gripe, design flaw in sauna - could be extended 2 metres since there's space beside. Can get a bit cramped. Good heat in Suana comoared to Park Club at Kassam Stadium where nothing ever works regarding the pool area.
Positive experience: Great gym if a bit pricey, plenty of space, saunas are what does it for me
Fantastic experience: Great gym
Positive experience: Good facilities but not cheap
Fantastic experience: Great little gym
Fantastic experience: Great place
Fantastic experience: Love it
Fantastic experience: Staff are always helpful and they've done a good job to keep the gym running under the pandemic restrictions
Hi Judy, thanks for taking the time to leave this review. We appreciate and take on board all member feedback. It’s great to hear you’re enjoying our gym especially during the period where we had lots of COVID restrictions! Thank you
Positive experience: Love swimming here, very relaxed.
Positive experience: Only 4 star as there very slow at getting machines fixed and some machines are old and dated. But a good place to go and pleasant staff who are always willing to help.
Fantastic experience: Good set of classes and not so busy pool.
Fantastic experience: Great
Fantastic experience: Fantastic facilities, great price, lovely staff
Positive experience: Would be 5 but the opening hours are very slim for anyone doing over 30 hours a week
Positive experience: Nice relaxed gym with lots of equipment and classes.
Fantastic experience: Wow I love this place !
Fantastic experience: Always a very clean and tidy gym. Lots of equipment to use. Staff are welcoming and helpful.
Negative experience: Lovely lady on the front desk was the only saving grace! Old and dated equipment, messy and chaotic, tiny free weights are. Should turn the training are into a functional CrossFit area With the state of the gym, I didn't even bother with the pool, sauna and steam roon All in all a disappointment and not worth £10 for a pass
Positive experience: Love the classes . Fit zone has just been upgraded . To be honest it look very depressing with the black floor and it’s very noisy . Not for me . Parking is an issue .
Fantastic experience: The staff are helpful and the whole place is clean and well kept. I went to a Yoga class which was well attended but not over full.
Fantastic experience: Very very good
Fantastic experience: Clean gym with very helpful and friendly staff. Occasionally equipment will break but is fixed very quickly. It has a wide range of fitness stations in the main gym including treadmills (around 15), cycles, cross trainers, weight machines, and free weights. It also has a special fitness zone for more specialised types of fitness such as punch bags, studios and a swimming pool. Love going here. Only thing that holds it back slightly is the limited weekend opening hours.
Positive experience: Good pool . A lot of kid classes though .seem to be on whenever I go . And I change my times A lot!
