Negative experience: Needs alot of work and continuing maintenance more machinery as seem to be waiting around alot at peek times and staff seem to have no time and borderline rude certainly will give this one a miss next time I need to top up my sets

Negative experience: I was anticipating that my brother's enrollment at this gym would enhance his self-assurance. Regrettably, he encountered disappointment and unhelpful staff members. His initial enthusiasm quickly dissipated, leaving him disheartened. It is unfortunate that his experience was not more positive. I won't encourage him to go again.

Negative experience: Rude staff. Not a pleasant experience at all. Ruined what was supposed to be a de-stressing workout, and made it a very stress inducing experience for my friend instead.

Negative experience: I'd give less than a star if I could ..I went to use toilet and a lady was cleaning it .yet after standing there for five minutes.i had to politely ask her if she could just step outside as I used toilet .as a guest i politely asked a staff if they could help me scan out gym. To which I was informed in a rude way .I'm busy ask in office. She was right by door .. it was not a nice atmosphere..I hated it .no I won't be joining

Negative experience: I've been training at Kirkby since it's closer to my job, and also at Aintree, where the equipment seems old or broken. While training at Aintree, doing Arnold presses, the bench suddenly tilted, and I nearly injured my arm. Upon inspection, I found that the bench's rear leg was crooked. As for Kirkby, training there is nearly impossible due to the constant loud music. When classes are in session, we're bombarded with two different tracks blaring simultaneously. The noise level is so high that I can't even hold a conversation with my workout partners. Additionally, the gym was without a water fountain for two weeks. Anyone needing water had to resort to using the sink in the toilet. My wife has also noted that the toilets frequently lack paper, and when I brought this up with the manager, she asked me to wait, as she was occupied with a casual conversation. This situation at both gyms is quite frustrating and makes for a poor training environment.

Negative experience: Weakest gym in the local area for gym equipment and overall product. Sadly it toils with a difficult floor layout. Gym kit is retro matrix variations and split between two floors. The freeweights is half man cave with cardio kit facing a KFC drive thru. One positive. It's one of the few gyms in the area open on Christmas day.

Negative experience: What an absolute dump! You definitely do get what you pay for. Theres also a blonde woman who looks like she has about ten shots of steroids a day who hogs the equipment every morning. Puts her towels on machines, and then stops anyone from using it, even when she’s on something else. Dare say anything to her and you’ll see every vein pop up on her, as I discovered! Waste of time saying anything to the staff as they’re all clearly pally with her. Absolutely disgusting gym, hostile environment and needs an update. Staff just walk around doing nothing or sit in the office downstairs.

Fantastic experience: Plenty of equipment, spacious, tidy and clean.

Negative experience: ALWAYS ABSOLUTELY RAMMED!!!! USED TO BE OK A FEW YEARS AGO, NOW YOU NEED TO PLAN AN EXTRA HOUR FOR ALL THE WAITING ROUND YOU DO. THIS IS OFF PEAK TIMES AS WELL AS I WORK NIGHTS SO I DREAD TO THINK WHAT THE PEAK TIMES ARE LIKE….. They’re still going round the whole of Aintree putting flyers through doors trying to get more people to join as well

Fantastic experience: Great gym highly recommended to all

Negative experience: Needs a renovation - the air con does not work very well anymore, or at all upstairs. The cardio equipment is tired and much of it needs replacing. There are numerous things out of order and have been for a while. The treadmills are the worst for this and there isn’t that many to begin with. Plus it’s pot luck whether you’ll get one in metric or imperial measurements. The cardio equipment generally feels like an afterthought compared to the strength ones. The strength areas have waaaaaayyyy more space available too, the cardio stuff is essentially crammed in. There is ample parking yet some users choose to use the disabled spaces instead of walking the extra few metres to the entrance. Also the music is way too loud, can barely my own music in my headphones over the music blasting over the speakers a lot of the time. I get that playing music on speakers is useful to block out some of the noise of users using machines, but the music is much too loud. I’d recommend going elsewhere, the Brunswick PureGym is much nicer.

Negative experience: Unhygienic pin doesn't work things in bathroom that shouldn't be there

Positive experience: It's a good gym one of the best pures in liverpool been to a few and this one is brilliant, could do with a few extra machines to isolate certain muscle groups but other than that it's an all rounder, there's sufficient weights and equipment for all, it's really good in the night I only go late at night as in the day it's really busy other than that i would recommend to friends and family.

Positive experience: Love going to this gym . But the place needs a serious clean .dust and cobwebs all over the equipment. Plus please clean the windows inside and out.

Negative experience: I'm a long term member. Someone hit my car, which was parked in the retail carpark directly outside of the gym, while I was in the gym. Manager said they would help me and then just ignored all of my communications after, offering literally zero help whatsoever.

Positive experience: The only thing I can think of is maybe have a sign on the lift not to block it. As a wheelchair user people keep blocking the lift

Fantastic experience: Looks clean and has good car parking in front of the gym.

Fantastic experience: Bigger and quieter than other pure gyms I’ve been to and the parking is much easier , lots of equipment availability and a much nicer layout.

Negative experience: I visit a few different pure gyms depending on where I'm working and here are a few downsides some major in my eyes. 1, never managed a warm shower here 2, steroid needle box in the changing rooms 3, occasionally needles left around 4, dirty chewing gum squeezed onto the detachable handles of the smith machines. 5, many of the cardio items are often out of use and they dont have many to start with.

Negative experience: This is my first time in Aintree, and my first time using this gym. I decided to keep my review short as it is very unlikely that any changes are going to be made based on what I say...and let us not forget, "Reviews Are Not Verified." (as it says on Google) which means a counter arguement can be made to any negative criticism. The layout, and the look of the gym is nice...as you walk in, the presentation is decent with lots of space, weights and equipment. So Why "Two Stars?" Well, the Men's Changing Room is VERY underwhelming and disappointing. You can attempt to use the showers, but you will get the feeling (before you do) that your not going to get clean...and the water is cold! Zero temperature. (Almost) I also checked the disabled bathroom and even though it is much cleaner than the Men's changing room, the water there is cold too! If the water was hot here, I would have given "Three Stars" because at least it is something, right? See, I am not a bad guy. You can not provide a shower facility that members pay for every month but in fact, cannot use. This is called, "a disservice." If a new and decent shower facility is too expensive to install, then members should be paying LESS every month for Aintree Pure Gym untill this can get fixed. Sounds fair? I think it does... My home gym is in Northampton, and the shower facility there is excellent! Don't believe me? :) Check it out, and see for yourself. Thanks for reading.

Negative experience: Machines always out of order

Negative experience: 2nd week on the run the circuit class has more people than booking, too many people on one station, class needs organising. I'm not gonna bother booking again, absolute joke. You need to start taking a register of a Tuesday morning Puregym! stop wasting peoples valuable time.

Positive experience: It is the best gym,but some people play with the phone and it takes our time.

Negative experience: Beggars belief that, after a pandemic, people are still not taking cleanliness seriously people blowing their nose on tissues which are use for cleaning down training equipment and then discarding it in the actual box and then the use in the gents toilets, not washing hands absolutely disgusting Some peoples policing of their personal hygiene is an absolute joke and it’s these people that make the situation they’re all in today so people that come here should need to understand and stop being so selfish and thinking of themselves, but think of other people. .

Negative experience: It’s cheap for a reason. You get what you pay for. The place is filthy, especially the toilets. Weights are never back in the right place, yet so many staff just wander around. There’s a little clique in there who hog about three machines at once, putting towels on so you can’t use them. Staff just ignore it as they’re all really pally. This is why there’s never any machines available to use. I’ll be going back to David Lloyd. This place is proper grim!

Positive experience: Decent gym, lots of equipment, good space and place to get to. However, if there's a class on you can hear the music and instructor all throughout the gym and your ear phones. There isn't a single bar to pull up on suitable for my height (6ft4), where I can freely dangle from without being completely stood up, even on the large central rack frame. The lightings good though, not too aggressive like other gyms! Ideal because I train in the late evenings.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym.

Negative experience: Dirty, machines aren't maintained well. Stupidly busy, tried training at different times as well. Constantly having to wait for different stations. Its tough to get a full workout in, end up having to do different exercises as you are waiting too long for stuff. I'm not new to gyms I've been training for 40 years. Only came here as my usual gym is being refurbed, can't wait for it to open back up. Its very cheap, but its just not for me

Negative experience: I use a handful of puregyms and this is by far one of the least hygenic ones. The bathrooms stink of urine, the showers have black dirt (could be mould) all over the floor. about a foot around all the fixings. So it looks like they've been cleaned but only with the most minimum of effort. Half the locks are broken. The water doesn't maintain a temperature. Half of the vending machines are out of order. This gym just looks like it is not maintained at all. The 2nd star is because all the weights I needed could be found, so credit to those who sort that out.

Positive experience: Lots of machines to use and the app is really good as it tells you how many are in, so you can pick the best time to suit you.

Positive experience: Only starting goin yesterday as I thought its time to sort myself out It seems to have everything you need in a gym only used a couple of machines upto now and all really good So far so good

Positive experience: I visited PureGym Aintree a few weeks ago, at about 2am, as it’s what time suits me with work and I’m trying to get back into exercising. I bought a day pass and it was brilliant - lovely clean equipment, nice empty gym, air con working, all the rest of it - until I needed the toilet. The men’s changing was propped open with a door stop but after trying to use my day pass access code (which I used to enter the building) to access the women’s toilets, I was sent a text and email stating I couldn’t use the code I’d been given for “access”. It’s a good job the gym was empty and my partner checked the men’s was also empty so I could go and use the toilet, which is something I shouldn’t have to do and would not be acceptable during the day.

Positive experience: Love the new refit and design in the gym with more equipment and new equipment! A suggestion would be full length mirrors in the changing rooms and for it to be made more obvious as to if the studio room is in use or not.

Positive experience: Good gym a bit busy and in beed of small refurbishment e.g. more lighting would be nice as it’s quite dark in the whole gym. The staff on the other side is non existent hiding in the office or something. Perhaps should go to The Gym Group to see how it should work.

Positive experience: Disappointed, after the refurb , the morning(6.30-7.15 am) pump and circuit classes have changed, these classes were full every morning! I’ve gone from training 6 times a week to 3. Assistant manager said they will be back on but no change. I can only train early mornings so not happy.

Fantastic experience: Easy guest access. Friendly atmosphere. Welcoming for all abilities. All kit is clean and in full working order.

Negative experience: It's in a great location and friendly people. However, the main reason for the low mark is because the weights are just dump all over the place. You spend more time looking for matching weight dumbbells than you actually do on your training.

Negative experience: After leaving my review a long time ago.. The aircon still isnt working!!!! Can you at least bring in fans fir yiur members and your staff The gym is starting to look good with the refurb it is in the process of having, however the classes are crammed. It looks like the gym has new aircon only it either isn't on or doesn't blow out enough cold air.

Negative experience: Great gym with a huge set of equipment to choose from, I love how there are 4 squat racks available (which are always very popular). I would give it 3 stars, maybe even 4 if there was a free standing bar which allowed for calisthenics, and if people (not everyone) would put their weights away, I've recently seen staff at the gym get a load of equipment out, move benches around, load up the weight, and leave their mess everywhere for someone else to sort out, they should be setting an example for their client, especially seeing as thats their place of work and there are signs warning the termination of membership if such a rule isn't followed.

Fantastic experience: Amazing.. big place, chilled air inside, friendly and helpfull staff, plenty of machines, Open 24/7 and Free parking. Had some issues with my membership but the members of staff here were very helpful and they sorted my issue in a matter of minutes. Very convenient for students as well, the monthly price is bargain compared to other gyms. Using mostly Matryx type machines. Very happy about finding this place.

Positive experience: Been going this gym for a while now swapped from the gym group as it was over crowded and forever waiting for machines. Pure gym has great classes for all, easy access to gym, plenty of parking, clean and covid cleanliness was kept to a high standard. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because there is no space for people who are not confident doing certain exercises infront of groups of members.

Positive experience: Not a bad experience, no studio area to really be able to do free exercise such as squats or step ups. Could also be cleaner male showers not the cleanest I've seen in puregyms

Positive experience: Really nice and clean inside. There is loads of really good machines, dumbbells, benches ect. The whole atmosphere, Edith the music and the style really motivates you to do well. And the staff are always open and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I'm a new member here but enjoying it so far. Machines are cleaned regularly, social distancing is in place and the atmosphere is very supportive in general.
