Fantastic experience: Brilliant place for swimming, gym, classes, sports hall and health suite. Has a great theatre & cinema. Loads of stuff for kids to do including Ryans Den a big soft play climbing gym. Fantastic cafe right next to the Den upstairs. Panini's and their chocolate Brownies are to die for. Prices are cheap and the food is great. Staff are lovely

Positive experience: Have been here a number of times to use the swimming and theatre facilities. Theatre is good, relaxed and comfortable. The food is very basic - think canteen style. The swimming is good in theory - there are flumes, slides for kids, plenty of changing space etc however in actuality, it's disappointing. The pool was shut for months for 'refurb/upgrades' and nothing was done to the pool, slides or flumes. The cleaning of the changing spaces is atrocious; we walked into a family changing room and there was literal poop on the floor. When I told someone about it, she said 'oh yuk' and walked away. We use it when we are at the caravan as the kids are little enough to see past all this and just enjoy the pool.

Positive experience: Nice pool. Changing room floors a bit wet but to be expected. Everything was working. Good visit.

Negative experience: Went to the Ryan centre everything was fine except the disabled toilets the downstairs toilet seemed to be locked so I went to the upstairs one there was little to no water running to wash your hands and it's certainly not checked very often as no other water was available I was quite disgusted to be honest yes I know there is work going on but the toilets need to be in working order there was some type of hot water tank but sadly it was not working at all

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed our experience. The only thing was there wasn't any seating in the viewing area and my son had pulled muscles and found it difficult to stand for long watching his children.

Positive experience: I was at the Ryan Centre to see a show- Matilda, my friends daughter was in. It seemed a good venue.

Negative experience: Av been using the gym for years and been ok with what they have. Untill recently the number for the gym is increasing all the time yet it it just stays the same. It's far too small for the volume of people using it. Yous really need to consider expanding. Its not good enough considering the gym is probably ur main facility people use. Sick of turning up and can't do nothing

Positive experience: Would be handy for kids if water slides were open. Other than that kids enjoyed a wee swim and a visit to the cafe. Food was very nice.

Positive experience: Its ok but sometimes tou have to wait a li g time to get to join a club my little sister had to wait 1 year to join sqimming and i jad to wait 3 years to join gymnasticks but other than that its great

Negative experience: Absolute horror with daek hair and glasses to be greeted with at reception. I totally appreciate we are in difficult times but given we were the complete green light for a family that is not from the area makes me even more angry. Walked in with my mum, friend, my 9yr old niece amd her friend to be greeted by what i can only describe as a dog. Barked at asking if i was booked for 11.20 which i wasnt so in was told to wait outside, however my mum at same asked if we could wait in cafe till pool time. Simply told yes go upstairs. Hadnt a clue where the cafe was so kind gentleman assisted us. Customer service is clearly not your role and my advice is find another role. You are the most unhelpful human we have came across and if your job makes you that unhappy then LEAVE

Positive experience: Needs investment and a bit TLC. Kids will still love it though. Place needs scrubbed. More staff needed in the cafe. A rule of ‘no shouting’ in the swimming pool struck me as odd‍♂️ Not the staffs fault btw they done everything they could.

The town of Stranraer NEEDS this to be available for families, tourists and not forgetting the rest of the surrounding community. Come on Stranraer councillors get your finger out!

Positive experience: The Ryan centre tries hard in areas to provide for the people of Stranraer. However their hands are bound by yet more disgusting discriminative bureaucracy from Dumfries and Galloway council. DG1 is currently sitting millions over budget. And yet the poor people of Stranraer, being the regions second largest town are left yet again with the scraps from the table. For instance 10 year plus old showers not working, and never being replaced. Roof tiles missing due to leaking waste pipes. Still not fixed months later, and with no sign they will ever be. Old tiling on floors and poor internal drainage giving smells of sewage in the health suite. Which is for sure a Health violation! It’s about time Dumfries and Galloway council take notice. And actually allow some funds to be spent on what is our busy and essential Leisure centre.

Fantastic experience: Great place to exercise. Lots of classes. Good, friendly staff. Nice swimming pool and sauna and steam room. Well equipped gym. Good sized theatre which has an excellent variety of acts performing and weekly cinema showings of all the latest films.

Positive experience: The Ryan Centre is pretty basic. The swimming pool is decebt enough. Nothing fancy. The gym is pretty good and the sports hall is a good size. The cinema is where this place really lacks. Very limited choice, very few screenings. And the seats aren't that comfy. To be honest I think they are the same seats that were there when they first opened. The majority of the staff are nice, but there are a few who never crack a smile.
