Positive experience: Lovely environment the members clean up after themselves. Very hygienic

Negative experience: I’m gutted as it started off as an ideal solution for my training but after taking a break for studies and then returning, the gym had seriously deteriorated. There were areas cordoned off, equipment not working and positively dangerous sections on the functional floor area. I tripped over it once and witnessed others doing the same. As a PE teacher, I understand the importance of a safe environment and good communication. The staff I have communicated with were friendly but when I tried to raise my concerns with the manager I wasn’t listened to. I explained it was not a safe environment and I wasn’t getting what I’d signed up for as classes were reduced and there were less staff, with reduced hours when the gym was covered by a member of staff. I requested to cancel my subscription (a one year sign in which is quite excessive nowdays) because the gym wasn’t meeting the terms of the contract but I was not taken seriously. After realising I wasn’t going to be listened to, I felt uncomfortable returning as well as having safety concerns, so cancelled my DD. Now I have received a letter from debt collectors - be careful before signing up for this gym! It is especially sad in this day and age that there seems to be an element of sex discrimination at play, I was made to feel uncomfortable by the manager after beating him in a physical challenge

Negative experience: I paid a year membership upfront and after joining there were an area in the weights room cordoned off like a building site, and half of the toilets were always broken. I decided to stop going for a few months as I didn't find the gym a pleasant experience with the cordoned off area and bubbled up matt's, I started back today after months away from this gym and the area is still in disarray and still the same area cordoned off. This gym is not great, the experience is crap but the staff are extremely friendly and courteous, it's just a shame it's taking months to sort something as simple as this. I've sent an Email sent to manager to try and obtain a refund. Sorry for this review but your gym isn't cheap and should be on point and maintained

Negative experience: not a great experience honestly. half the toilets out of order and in the free weights areas cornered off with yellow tape and really intimidating all round as a first time gym member. not to mention the premium you pay for this.

Fantastic experience: Joined specifically for the spinning classes. They are amazing and keep me motivated and sane! I find the facilities to be clean, tidy and very useful when I need to go straight on to work. One day I might actually use the gym but with the annual membership I get a great deal. The staff are very friendly. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: There are so many factors that make anytime fitness the best gym I've seen. Down to the friendly and helpful staff, to the wide range of equipment that is available to use. The staff have created a very positive atmosphere with everyone there enjoying the gym and willing to help out each other when possible.

Fantastic experience: Probably the best gym I have ever been apart of! The staff are incredible and I have made some fantastic friends for life. In terms of cleanliness the team always make sure this is a foremost and they really do look after their members and they will know when I say I like to talk for England and yet they are just do accommodating even when I have had poor mental health they have always asked how I am how my session are and really go out of their way I couldn’t ask for a better gym/family to be apart of.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym, train all over the country and this one is my favourite. Personal great atmosphere helpful staff. Really make you feel welcome. Oh and free parking!

Good selection of classes at various times in the day. Anytime workouts app is a great tool for planning and tracking your training programme as well. Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: An amazing gym. I've trained all over the place before and this is one of the slickest gyms I've been to. The staff are all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Good balance of members and I enjoy the free weights area and classes which are inclusive. Also love how focused and up to date they are with Wellbeing and developing a person holistically. Great offers and discounts available through the 'connect' website and loads of videos and content to access on mental health. Enjoyed using the biometric machine to get an indepth breakdown of my body composition. I highly recommend this gym to anyone of any level and training type- very personalised and good at tailoring to individual needs.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at ATF since the day they opened. I’ve always found the staff to be really friendly and approachable. If training during staffed hours they’re always on hand and happy to help with any questions. The gym has a great and friendly atmosphere. If you’re looking for a gym where you can feel completely comfortable look no further. There is also a selection of classes to choose from and all included in your membership so also great value for money too.

Fantastic experience: Great, friendly, spacious gym. Open 24/7 so perfect for any one interested in joining the gym. Not too busy even at peak times, with a variety of classes to join too. Staff always around to help if needed.

All the staff are friendly and happy to help with anything you need. Ben is an amazing coach and really pushes me during our PT sessions. Steve, Marcus and Yasmin are always on hand for any questions and you're greeted with a smile whenever you walk in! Best gym, if I could give more than 5* I would

Negative experience: Payed for a yearly membership to come out monthly, asked if there’s anyway to cancel the membership sooner and got told no. I then requested that at the end of the membership that no more payments would come out. Apparently there’s a massive lack of communication between the staff and management team because no action was perused onto my account and they’d continued to charge me since November. On top of that when I asked for a refund they said they can do it and back date it no issues. So I was happy for it to be cancelled and a refund back to November to come in. Know and behold I’m refunded one months worth and when I just called up to ask about it they said because I never wrote a cancellation form I wasn’t eligible to the full refund. Not only that but the manager began to tell me about the discussion I had with his team member who issued the refund and tried to tell me how the conversation went. When actually I was told a full refund dated back to November would be issued. Very bad customer service and overall just rude coming from the manager.

Negative experience: Dirty place dirty toilets and staff is not helpful at all don't clean equipments regularly.

Negative experience: Warning@, be careful people who have signed one year Agreement its not actually one year its Agreement for life which means it will continue even after end date of and you have to give them advance one month written notice to end the Agreement even after end date has passed. And they will keep deducting money from your bank till your death.

Fantastic experience: Anytime Fitness is the gym to go to. The facilities, staff and pricing are all amazing. Anytime fitness have always made me feel incredibly welcomed and comfortable. They are not pushy and understand your goals. I highly recommend.

Negative experience: Terrible experience with customer service. Initially contacted them about cancelling the membership AFTER the commitment end date, received no answer and kept being charged despite contacting them multiple times for months. A nightmare. Decent small gym but avoid please.

Fantastic experience: Anytime Fitness Paignton is an amazing place to workout. The staff are super helpful, encouraging, and friendly. They have a great range of group classes and all the equipment you need for strength training. The place is kept really clean and everything is always in good condition. It's obviously also very handy with it being a 24/7 gym too - with loads of parking! Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I would rate lower if I could. Arranged to have a look round I thought it would be an induction but they said to give it a try before I paid. Went for my first session. Boy in office didnt come out after someone let me in. I knocked on window and said I was there for a trial without even opening the door he waved me in. I said I dont know what to do he shouted whatever I wanted. I used the treadmill without instruction went back to office he know had 3 girls in their with him all wearing coats so not using gym. I tapped on window and said again I dont know what to use again he said anything.....so I used a bike. Then left I have internal and external health problems but could have been really dangerous.

Negative experience: Absolutely appalling service by the staff who can't handle simple task. "Small prints" on the contract are changing all the time and customer is treated poorly. Trying to cancel membership since November and still getting nowhere! Very frustrating.

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym abput a month ago and i go every night not bad for a 63year old guy and I cannot praise the staff enough for their friendliness and support and the place is always absolutely clean keep up the good work guys you all deserve the utmost credit and respect Derrick

Negative experience: All the gear... But Gyms situated in a great location and they have amazing equipment. But I'm sorry to say I'd rather (and have) go elsewhere. First impressions of the gym were great until one too many things quickly changed my mind. Firstly a private meeting with a member of the team, who spent the entire time speaking about themselves, not something you should expect when you're the customer. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend them personally. Secondly, I had a personal item stolen from the gym. When I reported this, I had to further ask for the staff to review CCTV, to which they responded saying they could not see it and that I should "appreciate that the CCTV security are looking out for non members... not misplaced" belongings. This suggests to me that Anytime are more concerned about profit margins than the security the of thier customers. To summarise, the gym which was opened by inexperienced staff had all the gear but absolutely no idea in customer services, 1 star for the equipment.

Fantastic experience: Getting crowded

Positive experience: This gym is interesting. It provides you all the equipment you need, private changing rooms / showers. The interesting part is that membership comes with a keyfob, which allows you entrance to the building at any time. So your schedule is no longer an excuse to not go to the gym. After a month of membership you gain access to all of the anytime fitness venues in the world.

Negative experience: can never reach any staff and changing rooms are generally pretty dirty also

Negative experience: The equipment is good and the gym is big but the thing that let's it down is the impossibility to contact any member of staff. I have called the main gym multiple times from when they are open till the time they are closed and nothing. I have also gone down to the gym to speak with someone and nobody has been there Another thing is there key fob system. At least 50% of the time mine has not worked since I have started at the gym.

Fantastic experience: Great equipment, bright, spotlessly clean and great facilities. As a first time gym goer the staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Can't recommend enough.

Negative experience: Impossible to call and speak to someone. Upon going in to have a look around and requesting some info its clear to see the staff are more interested in their mobiles or friends than potential customers. Did not like the vibe at all.

Negative experience: Park at your own risk at this Gym, a number of members are being fined multiple times due to the Gym employing the notorious ParkingEye to manage the car park. If you google ParkingEye you will see some true horror stories.
