Positive experience: Very modern and new. Friendly and helpful staff. Don’t forget to put your registration into the iPad!

Negative experience: I am appalled, disgusted and repulsed by the actions by some of the staff here. Their attitude towards customers is vile. They leave before closing because they are too lazy to do the last 5 minutes. The manager is the most rudest there, along with her colleague called Saul. She did not care when we complained about their service. worst customer service I have ever experienced and worst staff i have ever met.

Positive experience: Good facilities just internet could be better

Fantastic experience: Fantastic local pool. Up to date, clean and fresh with friendly and helpful staff. We went in for the family fun swim and the good quality inflatables and warmer training pool made it fun for all 4 of our kids aged 5 months to 15 years! Three family changing rooms I would say is above the average so not too much waiting.

Fantastic experience: I used to go David Lloyd in Leeds and it was not a patch on Workington Leisure Centre, which has state of art facilities, including pool, courts, sauna, steam room and massive well-equipped weights rooms, all well as all manner of machines for physical well being to improve strength and endurance. The vibe is top notch, the team are great and available to help, the place is spotless, everybody there gets their head down and grafts away. It opens early and closes late.

Negative experience: I am visiting the area and fancied a swim. And you what to know everything about me. I gave up in the as I was expecting to tell you my inside leg measurements. Moving on to the next town and hopefully they are not so strict. I  see from the Internet lots of other family's have problems with your poor service

Positive experience: A good facility providing a great swimming pool to the local area. Only slight frustration was that you can't turn up and use the centre, we were told by the receptionist we had to book online which made getting in hard work with a family sitting in the entrance area trying to get tickets booked on a phone just to go for a swim.

Fantastic experience: Love it and it's full of beautiful people

Negative experience: • The majority of the staff member’s attitudes are vile •Shuts at the oddest most inconvenient times? •Swimming changing area has 0 privacy •Male staff repeatedly walking into female gym changing rooms •All too lazy to work full hours close to holidays never mind on them :) only still here as it’s the only gym close

Fantastic experience: Clean staff helpful great facilities

Fantastic experience: Brilliant Gym. You don't feel pressured or unwelcome. Everyone just gets on with what they are doing. The whole place is really clean and lots of space. I go at 6am till 8am and it's not very busy at all.There is free water stations throughout the gym and health spa area. The only thing I would like is a vending machine selling protein shakes/drinks an snack bars. I think that would be a good thing to have for those wanting it before or after a workout. Apart from that everything is perfect ;)

Negative experience: Well, let me start by saying, don't send your child here if you want them to learn to swim. My daughter is 7yrs hasn't moved at all. I went in and complained, and got a pathetic excuse that the instructor had walk out. So they had to pull instructors from other pools. They told me my child would be assessed at the next lesson. I took my daughter and taught her to swim myself, she can do 3 lengths of pool unaided. My husband took her to her lesson, which they played with a ball. She hasn't moved on the app . And she wasn't assessed. I tried to call and they hang up. I wouldn't give them one star but I had too. So I could leave a comment.

Fantastic experience: Lovely gym and pool, nice friendly helpful staff

Negative experience: Just recently removed my 6 year old daughter from swimming here, my daughter has being having lessons here every week for over a year and she still cant swim...what on earth are these instructors doing...£20+ per month...over £220 for absolutely nothing and still not learning my child to swim....think twice if anyone is thinking of sending there child here...waste of time and money

Fantastic experience: First time visiting, training pool is great for children. Perfect for our kids 5 and 3. Really clean pool and changing area, friendly receptionist. Free parking when you input your the number while using the facilities (although we didn’t know this and paid!)

Negative experience: Recently dealt with a manager called Hannah and received a really appalling level of customer service. Went to the Cockermouth gym and they were a completely different, resolved all my issues and were excellent in assisting me.

Positive experience: Badminton facilities great and the children love the family swimming sessions with the floats. However the lifeguards leave the external door open, cooling the pool air and this decision seems insensitive to the swimmers. This is the case every time we visit …freezing over here :(

Negative experience: I went with my friends for one of there free swims, we came in and the staff were quite rude while we were swimming me and my friend decided to jump in the pool; one of the life guards told us off (we were at the deep part of the pool) the lady then said to me "NO JUMPING IN THE POOL YOU HAVE JUST HEARD ME TELL THE BOYS OFF SO WHY ARE YOU DOING IT" I told her I couldn't hear her (I have a disability involving my ears) "she then told me that I could hear her (even though I couldn't) although apart from the staff I had a great time with my friends and I would definitely will not come back.

Fantastic experience: Been to get my grandaughter a junior member and both receptionists very helpful and lovely.

Negative experience: What a total disappointment this pool is! 1 hour of public swimming available in 1 day + school holidays too! Limited places obviously as pool is small . Little kids pool is absolutely freezing not comfortable at all for babies + toddlers who can't swim as they can't move fast to keep themselves warm. You have to keep on the move or babies teeth are chattering.

Positive experience: Lovely gym friendly atmosphere, not intimidating at all. I'm a larger woman trying to get control back and I don't feel out of place (going on my own) everyone's helpful and lovely. There's a gym, swimming pool with viewing area, kids pool, squash courts, sports hall, steam room and sauna and studios for classes and more. They have very reasonable prices for what you get to. Clean gym with sanitising stations near to all equipment and hand gel stations. Places to refil your water bottle. The only 2 downsides are I ticked for the induction for when I started but when I rang to book this I was told it's only for juniors that said though other people there are friendly an happy to offer advice or help and it'd be handy to take your own tissues for the bathroom as they aren't replenished often enough. Everything's sign posted and if you ask for directions at the desk the lady behind it took me where I wanted to go and pointed out where everything was along the way. The hair dryers and straighteners are free to use and there's showers in the changing rooms for the gym also with 1 disabled shower and lifts if needed (I've only used the gym up to now).

Positive experience: I enjoy swimming here just wish there were more spaces available as i cant always get in to swim on a regular basis in the evening in particular.

Negative experience: Boditrax machine broken for literally months now.

Positive experience: Positives: good value for money. Despite being on a single floor it has a spaceous feel to it. Even during reasonably busy times you don't feel like people are on top of you. If you're looking for toning facilities - treadmills; elliptical style machines etc you're very well served. Negatives: not a single piece of specialist equipment for calves that I could find. Free weight section is adequate if unspectacular. Implore anyone from Better whose reading this to switch even a single of the perhaps 20 treadmills for a seated calf machine. Overall: Good if not great at this stage.

Fantastic experience: Had a great Sunday morning swim with my grandsons. They've had a few lessons when they lived elsewhere & enjoyed practicing their moves. Only trouble was, there were tears when we had to leave!

Fantastic experience: On arrival I approached the desk where a staff member was who took payment directed us to where we had to go pretty easy going free parking while using there facilities put your Registration number in and time your staying for also make sure you have a pound coin for the locker to lock your belongings away and enjoy

Negative experience: Shocking that if you haven't got the ability or availability to use the app you are unable to book anything, this is excluding a section of society that is already getting squeezed out

Positive experience: Great facilities great staff and overall a very nice gym but not someplace you would go if you plan on strength training, the weights seem like an after thought. the weights room is way too small and there's just not that much equipment disappointed to be honest because there's clearly a demand for it. If you're wanting to train cardio then this place will be perfect for you.

Positive experience: The best gym I have been to but very busy It's half price for students and even less for those who have disabilities got some nice classes and a big swimming pool

Positive experience: Went here with my baby to the under 5s swimming. It's good that the pool depth can be altered in the small pool, however i think the pool is a little on the cool side for younger babies. Would go back but maybe when baby is a little older.

Positive experience: Closed several days over Christmas and New year and opening times poor on days open. Closed early one day without warning. Then advertised as closed on 2nd but was open. No refunds offered.

Negative experience: No where near enough equipment for how busy it is, missing some basic machines and extremely expensive considering half of the machines keep breaking, Smith machine in particular which everyone uses. If people are paying for all the equipment but only having access to half then the membership should be discounted until everything is working properly...would switch gyms straight away if it wasnt for convenience!
