Wandle Recreation Centre

Fantastic experience: I recently joined the gym at Wandle Recreation Centre and have been thoroughly impressed! The gym has a fantastic junior session that encourages kids to get active in a supportive environment. The staff here are incredibly helpful, and I want to give a special shout-out to Kim, who went above and beyond to assist us during the sign-up process. Her patience and knowledge made the experience smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend this gym as a wonderful space for families looking to get fit together!

Fantastic experience: Good lower intermediate to intermediate badminton sessions on Friday, friendly bunch, runs for 3 hours, uses plastics and well-organised by Raz. New booking system sometimes cause issues though

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, small but decent sized weights gym. Good basketball courts and football pitches for hire. Staff are very professional. They also have a great Muay Thai Kickboxing club, Team Shark Martial Arts, operating out of their Dojo there. Highly recommended A+++

Positive experience: A nice small leisure centre. The gym doesn’t have the best equipment but decent 3G football pitch and decent indoor basketball court

Fantastic experience: My Granddaughter enjoyed her 6th birthday yesterday with family and friends. As a Grandparent I must congratulate the team who work under pressure efficiently please acknowledge Charlotte Daniels Madad Rafferty and all of the team. I would highly recommend this venue.

Fantastic experience: Good place for childrem birthday parties. We have rented one of the halls for our son birthday party last year for 2h. Big bouncy castle and football pitch indoors. Everyone enjoyed! Supportive staff and good prices. I highly recommend! There are two parkings available next to this property. Both can be busy during peak times.

Fantastic experience: I am learning Muay Thai. But there are many other options, gym, football fields etc. do check if they have other things apart from these in building. I haven't gone around a lot. But overall it's a nice place. Very close by southside mall and easy access.

Negative experience: One ‘lady’ that works here has severe attitude and is extremely rude. Lies about pitch availability as is lazy. Answers phone rudely.. will be making my way to make an official complaint.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service. The staff don't know how to deal with customers. They are extremely rude and have a lot of innessissary attitude. Do not recommend them at all

Negative experience: These clowns double-book their badminton courts then ring you one hour before the appointment to cancel. Not even slightly apologetic either.

Positive experience: Good venue for private events, bday parties and sports. Friendly staff and good price for venue booking compares to what you can get nearby for same thing.

Negative experience: Really poor customer service. Have emailed several times, call several others, the person responsible is never in and never replies to emails.

Fantastic experience: I found the staff at the Wandle really nice and friendly and made me feel like I’m part of their family ever since I have been coming here for over 6 years. I recommend you come over and try out any activities of your choice no matter what time of the day you can come. I love this place to bits.

Fantastic experience: This review is only for the soft play as I’ve not done the other activities. This is a great play space for 3-8year olds. The heatwave makes playgrounds unbearable so being able to take my two young kids here is great! There’s air conditioning and a seating area. The play space is perfect for young kids. They had a great time.

Fantastic experience: My 12 year old Son has been using the football pitches at the Wandle Rec for a number of years now, For football camps and personal training.The staff have been great! nearly always managing to get us a pitch, even at the busiest times. All the Staff at the Wandle are amazing but I would like to give a special mention to Sheieta and Kim for all their help and encouragement they give to Otis. Thanks You

Negative experience: One of its staff was terrible. I want to book a table tennis table on Sunday and she asked me what time. I said it doesn’t matter. Because I booked it several time and I knew there was rarely a place on weekends.Then she said it did matter and I had to wait another girl staff to deal with it. I thought she maybe didn’t understand how to do it and waited patiently for a long period because the girl staff was phoning. Finally the girl finished and I told her I needed book a table tennis table. It was so crazy that the first staff came to told the girl that I shouted her. She was utterly a liar. She not only couldn’t solve a simple booking, but also slandered the customer shouting at her. It was an utterly disgusting experience there.

Positive experience: GRRRREAT to be back at the historical site for football lovers. Nearly 20 years a returning patron, and the formerly refurbished pitches still maintain their standard. Yes, local development of the area has somewhat dampened the full joy of intense dopamine bonanza as the NEW residents claim and shout foul in the sounds of passion (quite unfairly if I may add). Welcoming staff and a clean site to visit. Missed you Wandle

Negative experience: I enjoy wandle but I'm giving it a 1 star because of the staff. I went there last week with my dad and after asking to use the toilet I said thank you very quietly and the young lady didn't hear me so she started swearing at me then she wouldn't let us book for a later time because we were apparently showing attitude when she was saying racial slurs towards us and continued to swear at us even when we tried apologising she was too busy listening to music and I think she should be fired for the way she treated is customer service is extremely poor I do not recommend at all

Positive experience: Really like the soft play here. New, clean and good diversity of stuff. Only problem is there's not much for new walkers and under. Bit dangerous to put them where the bigger kids are charging about. Would be nice to have somewhere small for little ones.

Positive experience: I went for a children's party. The soft play room they have is great! Welcoming staff. They also have a party room for party meal and games. Something I thought they could really do with was a coffee vending machine and possibly few sandwiches. The party was two hours so I had to duck out and run to the Southside to cafe Nero and run back again. Would be great if they had a small offering onsite.

Fantastic experience: A gym with all the basics. No intimidating members. A place where you do your stuff and get out completely satisfied. Great members of staff. They call members by their names that's great customer service.

Negative experience: Having used this facility for long time, it still surprises me how dirty and run down it is getting. I would never use it for parties, especially if you are trying to impress others!!!! Every other area seems to have been upgraded except the rancid, dirty and smelly soft play area. And at £3 /child plus parties it is definitely a source of income.

Positive experience: I've played footie here on and off for 10yrs. Floodlights are good. 3G always seems to be in pretty good nick. A bit pricey though. Has at least 1 big changing room, for those playing footie, with toilets & showers (although I've never used them) Staff seem ok, always oblige with pumping up balls etc. If you play on the side nearest the Wandle balls can fairly easily end up in the river.

Negative experience: poor customer service and out dated equipment.Not recommended at all.
