The entrance to the centre definitely needs better signposting from both the road and from the car park, as I nearly ended up pressing the doorbell to the Police stables by mistake.

Positive experience: I booked Houghend for my sisters surprise 65th Birthday party on 5th November. The venue is lovely with great parking. I choose to decorate the hall myself, using my own table and chair covers. Everything was lovely and the room looked beautiful. The buffet prepared by Mike their own caterer was lovely too. I would highly recommend Mike. His service and communication was very good. Unfortunately, I had arranged with Ed to collect the balloons the following day and was promised that these would be waiting for me and it was not a problem. When my sister returned to collect the balloons, she was told that the cleaner had got rid of them. She was upset as these were for a celebration to take place on her actual birthday(7th Nov). I called Ed and asked him about the balloons and his attitude was absolutely terrible, he was so rude and said 'oh well, the cleaner got rid of them'. I asked why would the cleaner get rid of a perfect display of balloons? He totally disregarded the fact that he had promised to keep them safe for me and totally disregarded the price of the balloons. when I told him. This was a very bitter ending to a wonderful evening. Unfortunately for this reason I wouldn't use this hall again (although I would use Mike). I am very disappointed with the way I was spoken to by Ed and felt that because the business had been done it did not matter that he had broken a promise. If you are booking this hall, please take everything with you on the night and don't just take a persons word for it.

Positive experience: Cheap n cheerful, play indoor 5-a-side here and the roof has had several leaks over the playing surface (woiden floor) for months now, been reported but never seem to get repaired = potential injury risk when it rains....kind of defeats the purpose of playing indoors

Positive experience: Came here to an evening wedding reception, place was "dressed" fantastic giving it that wedding feel and not just another room in a club. Only downside is that it gets very warm and air con doesn't seem to make a difference. Bar staff wouldn't let us open emergency exits to get air circulating, draft blowing through so most of evening spent outside by all meaning DJ played to nobody.

Positive experience: Centre has outdoor football pitches and fitness club as well as a conference centre / party room with bar for hire. Ample parking and very close to Princess Parkway / M56 / M60.

Fantastic experience: Saw a Motown group . Fantastic. We had the buffet that was on offer it was very good . Only down side is having to climb the stairs for upper seating area when downstairs is full . Not easy when you have leg problems or trying to carry food or drinks . But overall it a great venue

Positive experience: Private members club with a nice bar area and sports facilities. Helpful staff and the rooms available for booking are up to scratch and defo worth booking. The place has picked up over last couple of years so well odne to staff and committee.

Fantastic experience: Ongoing refurbishment has made this venue into a really pleasant place. It has some great lighting which gives a great atmosphere in the evening or with curtains drawn. I put on two parties a year here and everyone who comes loves the venue and the food. Staff are very accommodating. Loos are good too!
