Fantastic experience: I’ve been having adult swimming lessons for the last 8 months and I love it! The instructors are experienced, kind and friendly. I feel better in myself after every lesson- it’s true what they say exercise makes you feel good. All the staff are helpful and friendly- the facilities are warm and clean. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: Arrived 5 minutes late for yoga as I had to work late and there were no spaces in the car park, and was quite rudely told off in front of the class and told to leave. Have done yoga before, and just wanted to relax at the end of a long day. Disappointing.

Fantastic experience: First time visiting the spa at Morpeth leisure centre. The staff member at the reception was excellent, took the time to explain the facilities and how to find them. The spa itself was exactly what I needed. The only thing that I would change would be the jacuzzi, the jets weren’t working. Other than that for £10 you can’t go wrong.

Negative experience: Never known anywhere with such a problem with people parking in disabled bays without blue badges, not the leisure centres fault and the council parking enforcement inform me they are on to it!

Fantastic experience: Hired a holiday cottage which did not have disabled access to a shower for my disabled elderly mum. Leisure Centre staff were all fab. Kat and Hannah, Emma let us use disabled facilities/ changing room ×high has an accessible shower. Room was well equipped, warm and perfect for my 92 year ohld mum's needs. I am a member of Disabled Committee, so will ensure I report this great service and facility. Thank you again to all the staff. Such a great resource for disabled people. Refreshing to see accessible services.

Negative experience: First and last time I ever come here. Where do I start….parking, 7pm at night and yet it still took me 15 minutes to park, it was absolute CARNAGE, parking is easier in London. Came this evening for a spa session with my girlfriend, upon making my way into the changing rooms, I was greeted by 5 fully naked men, and the smell of sweat, urine, drains and fesses. It was absolutely disgusting, oh and no changing rooms, so I was forced to get changing in a toilet stall which had a lovely surprise waiting for me, you get guessed it! More poo and urine on the floor, delightful. I then went to rinse off in one of the showers before entering the spa which felt more like someone urinating on me than showering, this wasn’t a shower, this is a fine high powered lukewarm mist, no temperate settings what so ever. I then made my way sopping wet to the spa, only one problem, you have to come out into the main reception area full of bright LED lights, half naked and soaking wet, surrounded by fully dressed people everywhere, felt very uncomfortable and weird (why not connect the spa to changing rooms?). Upon entering the spa, me and my girlfriend were eyeballed by the 5 or 6 lower class knuckle dragging plebs that littered the place like a pack of hungry chimps, the place is virtually pitch black with a weird, seedy vibe, not helped by the clientele, who are all lower class scum without an ounce of grace and decorum. Sat down for about 5 minutes before we both left after a few of the bull necks in the sauna couldn’t wipe the look of “I’ve never seen another human before” off their face. To top things off the walls are paper thin and I believe there was a zumba class going on next door, so call I could hear was *THUD THUD THUD* as a bunch of benefit frauds stared me out. I have been to spas / gyms / leisure centres all over the world, this is by far the most disgusting excuse for one. This centre is unbelievably busy, stinks of sweat, urine and poo, is full of the dregs of the earth, inadequate changing rooms, worthless showers, dirty, and a spa that resembles a night club more than a relaxing retreat. If you have any standards, avoid this place like the plague.

Positive experience: Staff at reception were helpful and guided me to the spa facility Spa was clean and well presented but lacked a lot of the facilities that the older spas have. The heated beds working was a nice addition. The facility needs ice. Lots of parking near by and bright and accessible for disability’s.

Fantastic experience: Online information misleading , Have to " book" to swim , according to website only , 6 spaces left Pool had 3 people in when we arrived. No one at " help desk " on arrival , as have never used facilities before yesterday. Cafe staff were very helpful and friendly. No explanation of how to use locker system , or secure facility to store smart card whilst swimming . The pool was lovely we enjoyed it there. The comments above are not complaints, but merely our experience Maybe the locker system could be improved as we weren't the only family / patrons struggling to work out what to do .

Positive experience: Gym is good staff are great but i used to love having a wrap after i'd used gym but since its been taken over by places leisure the cafe has just got awful expensive bought in food which is such a shame considering how nice the food was there.

Positive experience: New centre is great but I just can't get my head around why there aren't any viewings areas for the kids swimming lessons. Also, what happened to the Dyson hairdryers? New ones are very weak and take ages.

Fantastic experience: I would like to say a very special thankyou to Andrea at the front desk. Andrea went the extra mile, bent over backwards and smiled through out when she tried to help a number of us deal with the glitches encountered the day the new app opened. She has always been professional, friendly and helpful and I think she needs recognition for her work..even when dealing with some less than polite customers.

Fantastic experience: Huge shout out to the Pilates, Yoga and Body Balance instructors Sarah, Cath and Martha. I have been going for only 3 weeks now (thanks to a recommendation from a neighbour) for core strength and flexibility. I was unsure as I’ve not been before and it was following an injury which needed some gentle stretching and alignment. The classes have been great, they are super friendly and push you gently without any undue pressure. I am eternally grateful as it has given me such a lift mentally and physically and the time passes fly by, thanks so much.. Richard Kirby Ps I may now look at other classes as I’ve overcome my daft reluctance and I know it does you good in an informal, friendly setting, thank you

Positive experience: A big upgrade on the previous leisure centre. I'm there most days, especially in the winter. My only niggles are around opening times of the library and some processes, but happy overall.

Positive experience: Brilliant facilties very clean showers with shampoo/shower gel included at the pool which can sometimes be a bit cold but otherwise can't fault it

Negative experience: Now extra cold to save money - erm, sorry "Save the environment". I thought the heating system had broke on my last visit as the air temp was a somewhat cooler than its the previous comfortable temperature, and the pool was unpleasantly cold. Maybe ok if you're swimming lengths with a bit of passion, but as i was with my young daughter playing and practicing swimming, we spent most of the time shivering while in the water. My daughters lips had gone blue walking from the pool to the showers. Shame that they have started penny-pinching now because it is a nice new building and you'd have thought they would be trying to increase the number of people attending by making the place a bit more inviting. Going to have to see if Ashington or Concordia instead. Hopefully they aren't "Saving the environment" as extremely as Morpeth.

Fantastic experience: Called in to check out gym facilities. Plenty of 'equipment' nice buzz without being too precious. Modern pool, only 25m long, and 6 or maybe 8 lanes, nice balcony linked to the café so parents can watch (their) children at play. Staff on the enquiry desk super friendly and approachable, and completely au fait with all the courses and activities. Shame the sauna is an additional charge £10 an hour, or buy a months unlimited access, which as the month starts from your purchase date, is the best option for occasional sporadic users like me. Parking is the public car park, free with the £1 parking discs. On a warm Saturday morning the car park was busy, but there were still places.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, lovely staff and very reasonable prices

Negative experience: Its looks and staff are really nice. However 1. My wrist band did not opperate locker, so had to go back downstairs to get it reset. 2. The gym is a but small and all apparatus needed to be logged into manually before use. This function has been removed at other centres. 3. I was stood in a corridor in my swim shorts for 15 minutes trying to access the spa room door with wristband that had already been reset. Door would not open with any of our cards either, despite some one else coming along and then being able to access in front of us. With it being my first visit and being with my son who is Autistic, we gave up after an hour and not having done anything other than get changed twice and run up and down stairs several times. Parking is also very restrictive and needed to buy a council time disc. Such a shame, but will try again, on my own, in a few months time to see if it improves. Until then I will continue to use Ashington, Blyth and Cramlington instead.

Positive experience: Really liked this place, only went for the soft play but had great food at the cafe too. Soft play suitable for toddlers. Would need a bigger car park for 5 * rating as it's a struggle to find a place to park up

Positive experience: The centre itself is really nice, however the parking situation in the front car park is ridiculous, the car park is way too small and I regularly have to find a space off site. If you drive down the side of the centre there are bays, and at the end of Gas House Lane another carpark, though this has gates that the signage states lock at 1800 hours, far from ideal for a brand new site.

Fantastic experience: What a lovely new leisure centre! I visited the library which is on two floors. Librarians were all very helpful, friendly, and efficient. Already looking forward to visiting again.

Negative experience: So disappointing after awaiting for this complex to open with such excitement. Children’s section in the library incredibly underwhelming, and small! Would have been good to have a larger and more engaging space for aspiring young readers. Then, my two daughters were desperate to go to new pool. But, as we turned up without an advance booking on a Thursday afternoon, we weren’t able to go in! Returned with a booking the following day to find learner pool closed?! Also, asked to remove shoes upon entrance to changing area, and shoes are left strewn over floor. There’s wall space , but no shoe racks which surely would have made more sense?! I also wasn’t impressed by the key cards to use the lockers as you then have a key card to take with you to poolside where there isn’t really anywhere safe and sensible to put it! Seem like obvious details , but been totally overlooked. Unfortunately, we won’t be using our local leisure centre if possible. I’d sooner travel elsewhere.

Positive experience: Nice new leisure centre building. The cafe area isn't very big, and seems rather chaotic as it's right next to a soft play area. For a quieter visit, try and go during school hours
