Our comment from FitFit UK about Sport and Recreation Centre EB:
Welcome to Sport and Recreation Centre EB in Coventry, United Kingdom! This centre boasts a variety of excellent facilities that cater to both students and the general public.
Highlights include:
- Good gym amenities with numerous weight machines and cardio equipment.
- Friendly and helpful staff dedicated to assisting members with workout plans and gym etiquette.
- Popular badminton courts, although booking can be competitive at times due to the limited number of courts available.
- A welcoming atmosphere encouraging a good vibe among patrons.
- Great value membership options, providing access to a wide range of activities, including swimming, basketball, and more.
While many users have praised the cleanliness and maintenance, some have noted that the facilities can become crowded during peak hours, particularly in the evenings. Additionally, but there is a need for improvement in the free weights section due to space constraints. Nevertheless, the overall feedback highlights the supportive community and good energy, making it a recommendable choice for fitness enthusiasts.

Sport and Recreation Centre EB: Opinions
Positive experience: Good facilities
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, well equipped and fantastic for Uni staff
Fantastic experience: Best place for badminton. Also the gym facility is very good.
Fantastic experience: Good
Negative experience: dead gym, equiptment is terrible even puregym is better, just save your money
Fantastic experience: My favourite
Fantastic experience: Been going to this gym for almost a year and its been nothing but great. There’s only one or two people in the morning which makes it great for a regular paced workout. The trainers are also always there to help spot or answer questions, personally Mitch has been the most helpful regarding a workout plan and form questions.
Fantastic experience: Staff are always helpful and chatty. Good vibe and great prices for the different membership offers. Decent gym, could use an extra squat rack but apart from that rly good. Definitely recommend
Fantastic experience: I joined the gym and I was skinny looking to build muscle the staff helped me so much, I’m very grateful for them, their support in always telling me if I need someone to spot me I can ask them and always giving me tips to improve, very supportive and very friendly, I enjoy being at the gym and after almost 9 months, I’m seeing progress, I’ve built muscle, and the energy is always amazing! Very thankful for Rob, Vince, Horia, and Mick for the friendly energy and always being open to show me a movement or spotting me, i love that they make sure I’m never shy to ask for a spot or for help with a workout!! Really love this place !
Positive experience: Crowdy evening time because of summer schedule - gym closes at 19:00. Unbelievable!
Positive experience: Cov University sport centre, I mainly use the badminton. The membership is good, facilities is nice and clean. Only has 2 courts so sometimes it's difficult to get a court, and need 1 week advance booking.
Fantastic experience: Really nice facility staff very helpful and changing rooms spot on and the hall I trained in was smashing
Fantastic experience: Book your slot and enter,, £50 is convenient for the year with the level of maintenance and facilities they provide.. I go for badminton and here are the pics..
Positive experience: It's ok
Positive experience: University Sport Centre, where is possible to exercise (both in the gym and basketball courts), and find very polite and friendly people.
Negative experience: The sports halls are too few to accommodate the students needs. They rather let us fight over courts booking than adding more facilities. They cannot even fix the three lights that have been broken for ages in the badminton courts despite how many times we have reported it. If u like to play sports, you better choose other universities.
Positive experience: Not alot of parking it's on the road especially as the new sportshall is very big
Fantastic experience: To: Gym Manger, I am very proud of your management.
Fantastic experience: Not going to lie early morning training the best, quiet whole gyms to oneself and ...bathroom suprisly very clean compared to local gyms around.. I shower there after every training.
Fantastic experience: ⁸
Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities and friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Great facilities with cheap cost. Basketball/volleyball court, gym, badminton court The only con is that we have to pay for a year Together, not monthly
Fantastic experience: They have a great physiotherapist
Positive experience: Nice, clean foyer. Friendly staff, great badminton courts, shame there aren't very many (only 2)!
Fantastic experience: Incredible
Fantastic experience: Good facilities and great staff services
Negative experience: Worst service
Fantastic experience: Great facilities. Very hygienic.
Negative experience: Facilities are fine. Staff and service are awful
Positive experience: Small gym, good depending on times you go, facilities like halls are good
Fantastic experience: Lovely sport centre. Nice staff at the reception. However, the opening hours during holidays are quite restrictive.
Positive experience: Not free for students who want to rent and play some indoor game
Positive experience: Im in the gym pretty often, you shouldn't go there on weekdays between 17.30 and 19.30, because it's extremely full then and pretty much all machines except the cardio equipment are occupied and you have to wait.
Positive experience: Went for testing a great team of sports science graduates a lovely morning
Positive experience: It's generally a good facility and was recently refitted with many new machines. However, there's no area dedicated to floor work, so finding a spot to put down a mat for stretching, yoga, calisthenics, etc, can be frustrating - particularly since the place gets very busy.
Negative experience: Waste of money. They don’t invest in facilities at all.
Positive experience: Good but it would be good to have a room exclusively for floor exercises with matress
Fantastic experience: Small, cheap and good
Fantastic experience: Such a lovely place so cool and quite
Positive experience: The gym is small and crowded. The sport hall good and can be easily booked by students and staff
Fantastic experience: Best place for sports. You can also relax after the sports at the bar with a beer.
Positive experience: Good gym
Positive experience: Good
Fantastic experience: Good workout place. Advise you to come in morning hours.
Positive experience: Lots of activities on offer to both students and the general public. Swimming pool is great and there is the sports hall that may be booked for badminton, volleyball and indoor football etc.
Negative experience: Besides having decent weight machines and cardio equipment, the free weight section is appaling for a university gym. Lack of space for free weights old fashioned Smith machine, only one bench and squat rack, for a university that has gotten alot of funding the gym is really poor
Positive experience: Great for students
Positive experience: Dirt cheap but very busy at times. Not really worth going in the evening as all the freeweights are taken. Plenty of activities to take part in and halls can be rented out very easily at no extra cost.
Fantastic experience: Good facilities
Fantastic experience: Lovely, I enjoy using he sports hall very clean and the staff are very good
Positive experience: nice and new gym facilities there, however there is not a lot of space in the gym and there is a limited amount of equipment which was disappointing as everything else was nice.
Fantastic experience: Clean and tidy with great staff and facilities
Fantastic experience: Great facilities at the Sports Centre, staff are friendly and very knowledgeable.
Positive experience: Is very busy during peak times and only for students
