Negative experience: Been attending here for 4 months now and still, to date, I am yet to see any cleaning equipment or paper towels at the paper towel points. Guess they’re just there for decoration but ridiculous that a 24/7 gym cannot provide basic paper towels or cleaning equipment to wipe after ourselves. I don’t ever see anyone on the front desk and I attend during peak hours.

Fantastic experience: This gym feels like a second home! The staff are all friendly, and the atmosphere is so welcoming. The equipment variety is fantastic, ensuring every workout is enjoyable and effective. I’ve lost 6 stone thanks to this place and I wouldn’t want to have done it anywhere else!

Negative experience: Was just going to take advantage of the Black Friday deals for a year for my partner and myself. The Advertised sauna and Steam room are off due to costs. No idea when back on. For that reason we won't we joining..

Fantastic experience: Large, well spaced between equipment. Lots of machines and loose weights. Plenty of classes. Air con is good. Relaxed welcoming atmosphere. Also has a ladies only room

Fantastic experience: Joined 24/7 for a month in July. I really liked the option to join for a month and it was great value. People relaxed and plenty of space. I usually went mid afternoon and hardly any queues for equipment. Hope to be back next year!

Negative experience: Visited 24/7 fitness york as it seemed to tick all the boxes with the information provided online. Upon arrival, it wasn't very clear as the where you needed to register your fingerprint as the machine to do this is tucked away in the corner (easily passable) upon entrance. Managed to complete a work out but was very shocked as to how small the gym actually was, all the machines are crammed together and the free weight area is very small with only 4 weight benches, 2 of which I think are not adjustable. I guess this can be manageable if you go super late at night 11pm/12am when it's quiet but during the day and peak times I highly doubt you'd get moved in here and would be queing up to use each station, was worth the try and i Hope other users can find this helpful.

Positive experience: Very outdated equipment, most if there from 'fitness first' days. Needs complete refurbishment and investment!

Fantastic experience: Great gym especially for the price. Always clean and tidy, staff really friendly and good selection of PTs and on site physio. Kit occasionally broken but gets fixed very quickly. Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been in York 10+ years, been to most of the gyms around, still choose this one simply because one of the best. Highly recommend Thank you to all staff, absolutely wonderful people.

Negative experience: Staff and members are very friendly and helpful, good range of equipment, plenty of lockers and parking but the extreme volume of the incessant pounding music which comes through noise cancelling earbuds really spoils the experience and makes working out an unnecessarily stressful ordeal for people with ASD, why does it have to be so loud when everyone wears headphones and how come the ‘women only’ section is the only area spared the loud music? Sorry but the loud music has lost you two stars

Fantastic experience: The Carlsberg of affordable gyms in York. I’ll challenge you to find better for the price and access. If you’re worried about the intimidation or nervousness of joining a gym then this really is the place for you to try. Friendly and welcoming with all levels of fitness in there. Excellent facilities and parking. Good range of machines and weighs, classes and secure lockers. If there’s one thing you’re going to do for you this year then make it joining this place

Negative experience: Took a membership out in 2019 before COVID, requesting in the gym to cancel I was advised by the floor staff to email a ticket in which I did, i received an automated reply to that, fast forward to 2020 my membership was still active after receiving a price increase, I called them again, asked if I had a direct debit active and I was told NO! Not only this but I was told to ignore the price increase as I was sent it by accident. So I did. Fast forward to 2022 I receive another price increase nothing since. I call up this time and they tell me I do have a DD active, I email in and they use all the excuses under the sun, no phone recordings and membership is to be cancelled directly at a bank which I was never told. AVOID. 1* No customer service Cares or wants to help and the director Sarah used the scape goat of it’s the members responsibility besides me being told otherwise on several occasions.

Negative experience: Just watched a personal trainer (the one with a raspy voice ) be extremely rude to a two women who were working next to him and his client. He appeared to enjoy this and was smirking as he was winding them up. He started arguing with them for something another customer did. Really awful !! Not acceptable behaviour.

Positive experience: Nicely organised, clean and spacious gym with plenty of machines and free weights to use. Lack of staff members at the desk was disappointing. Vending machines need updating as it wouldn’t allow me to pay with a very commonly used card.

Positive experience: Great gym for the money. It's a bit too busy during peak hours, but not so bad it'd make me stop going. I personally think they need to add another free weights bench, another squat rack and another cable machine. These are the things that are most used, so difficult to get on during busy hours. Either way, good value for money.

Fantastic experience: Well equipped gym sometimes with an annual deal quite often. Even without, very cheap for a year. Trainers are friendly, most of the users are too. Rarely too busy in the morning or lunch. Classes tend to make the car part look busier than it is.

Negative experience: Company is a scam. Sells their premises and promises refunds to customers but then keeps the money once they close

Negative experience: Loud music. Broken equipment - treadmills make a terrible noise and most go for the same treadmill as it makes no noise. Bikes with tape on. Ice cold showers. Staff who speak down to customers and try to justify the company instead of listening to customers and taking on board what is said so they can learn how to improve. Apart from having the steam room and sauna there's other places that does the les mills classes. Water fountain arm usually broken. On the plus, it's a very quiet gym and you can always get on a machine.

Positive experience: Good gym. However they did advertise an offer of get your friend to join and receive a 10 pound amazon voucher. This was done in November however, I am still waiting for my voucher. Emailed the enquiry line and just been ignored.

Positive experience: I like this gym. All equipment I need. Would have given full marks if it wasn't for: 1. Overly loud music. It manages to drown out my own headphones!!!!! 2. Bar bell pads have vanished from the gym floor!? I'm going to have to purchase my own. 3. One or two members are busy bodies/pests and need to mind their own. They can also be a little intimidating hovering over people to finish. That's just not OK in my book.

Negative experience: When something breaks it doesn't get repaired! The pec Dec has been out of action now for like 2 months. Poor management and pretty bad really.

Positive experience: To overcrowded on a evening but OK on weekends

Negative experience: I love working out but this gym is dire. Finger recognition never works for me, kit is broken, seriously unwhelmed.

Positive experience: Live the gym but wish the music was turned down and more varied nit just the boom boom boom I can hear.

Negative experience: After 6 years as a member, I went there to find that the room, where there are machines I use for my affliction, has been changed to a ladies' room. These machines are only located in that room. I was kicked out and admin has not responded to my emails. When a friend commented on the style and volume of the music, she was told she could go elsewhere. When I was asking about one of the machines I use when it was broken, I was told- what do you expect for £16 pm? It was 2 months before it was repaired.

Positive experience: Love it. Only thing missing is a pool. Love the classes and the instructors. Never feel self conscious

Fantastic experience: It's great on a weekend at the moment for me, not that busy, get to do what I can without waiting for others to finish.

Positive experience: Great gym, good value for money. However I do find that some of the broken equipment takes a long time to be repaired and is out of action for longer than it should be. It would benefit from an additional water station too.
